Morag, Where the Orb of the Universe Was Hidden

"I think you—"

Before Fang Mo could finish, Xandar’s security ship had already flown over, hovering above them and activating its Tractor Beam.

Other than Fang Mo, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and even Star-Lord were all lifted into the air. What was worth mentioning was that Fang Mo was gripping Star-Lord’s leg, making him look like a human-shaped helium balloon about to drift away as he swayed comically through the sky.

"Damn, them again."

Star-Lord could not help sighing at the sight. He then said helplessly to Fang Mo, "Bro, could you let go of my leg first? You’re making me look stupid…"

"Subject 89P13, put down your weapon."

Just then, the loudspeaker from the security ship above crackled to life. "And this… uh, gentleman of an unknown species, please release Peter Quill’s leg. In the name of the Nova Corps, you are under arrest for carrying out unauthorized operations and engaging in public fighting."

"Tch, damn it."

Rocket Raccoon reluctantly lowered his gun.

Unlike the others, however, Fang Mo ignored the ship’s warning entirely and continued questioning Star-Lord. "See? Things have gotten out of hand now. If you don’t want to go to prison, give me the Orb of the Universe first. I can take all of you out of here."

"I don’t want to go to prison either."

Star-Lord said helplessly, "But I haven’t had the chance to retrieve the Orb of the Universe yet. How about I give you the coordinates?"

"Huh?"

Fang Mo froze when he heard that. In the original story, Star-Lord had already had the Orb of the Universe when Rocket Raccoon tried to capture him. Yet now he said he had not gone to get it… What was going on? Was this some strange butterfly effect again?

Had the Guardians of the Galaxy’s story been affected because Gamora had been locked up on Earth?

"I’ll repeat myself. Gentleman of an unknown species, release Peter Quill’s leg. You are under arrest."

At that moment, the loudspeaker from the ship overhead sounded again.

At the same time, the Tractor Beam hitting Fang Mo seemed to grow stronger, likely because they had increased its power. Yet to everyone’s shock, Fang Mo still did not budge in the slightest.

"Wait… bro, how are you doing that?"

Star-Lord stared at him. "That’s the Nova Corps’ signature Tractor Beam. And it can’t do anything to you?"

"A mortal creation dares to affect the Creator?" Fang Mo waved a hand, too lazy to explain. "You said the Orb of the Universe isn’t in your hands yet. Tell me, are you certain?"

"Why would I lie to you about that?"

Star-Lord hurriedly said, "If I really had it on me, wouldn’t I use it to trade with you for money? Why would I make trouble for myself? By the way, what exactly is this Orb of the Universe? Why does it feel like so many people are after it?"

"So that means… the Orb of the Universe is still on Morag?"

Fang Mo ignored Star-Lord’s question and subconsciously rubbed his chin. "Hmm. If that’s the case, I only need to make one trip there to get it?"

"Of course."

Star-Lord nodded. "But I’m the only one who knows Morag’s exact location. You’d better take me with you."

"No need."

Fang Mo shook his head. "I’ll go there myself first. As for you… sit in prison here for a while. Once I get that thing, I’ll come back and rescue you."

With that, Fang Mo raised a hand and tapped Star-Lord.

A bright blue glow lit up at his fingertips before swiftly sinking into Star-Lord’s body.

"Hey! Hey! What did you shoot into my body!?" Star-Lord asked nervously. "My orientation is perfectly normal, so don’t try anything weird!"

"?"

Fang Mo gave Star-Lord a strange look. "Are you sick? I just anchored a coordinate."

"Huh?"

Star-Lord froze, but before he could react, a deep blue spatial mist enveloped Fang Mo. Then Star-Lord felt his leg loosen, and his whole body floated completely into the sky.

The Nova Corps patrol was also stunned. This was their first time seeing someone escape right under their noses. Still, to be honest, they were relieved that the bizarre man had run away. Not just anyone could withstand a Tractor Beam with their physical body, and they were afraid something might go wrong.

After breathing a slight sigh of relief, the patrol simply took the remaining people into custody.

Meanwhile.

On Morag.

A cluster of blue energy mist suddenly appeared in the void, and Fang Mo slowly stepped out of it.

"Hmm… it should be around here, right?"

After emerging from the spatial mist, Fang Mo briefly surveyed his surroundings.

This was an ancient abandoned planet, filled everywhere with jagged black volcanic rock. Active volcanoes could be seen across the ground, erupting at every moment.

Countless billions of volcanic ash hung throughout the atmosphere, darkening the sky into a gloomy haze. The clouds here contained an abundance of moisture, and the extreme temperature differences kept the planet perpetually shrouded in lightning storms and torrential rain. Due to the sulfides, the rain was even somewhat corrosive.

Fang Mo flew up from the ground and swept rapidly through the low sky, observing the nearby ruins.

Yes, this planet had probably once possessed civilization, though it had been abandoned for a long time. Even so, many remnants and ruins could still faintly be seen across its surface.

At first.

Whenever Fang Mo encountered ruins, he would politely land and walk inside to investigate.

But he quickly lost patience. There were simply too many ruins here, and the overwhelming majority were utterly deserted. Aside from damaged cables and piles of broken rocks, there was nothing inside.

This was not Asgard’s treasure vault, where Fang Mo could stroll from one end to the other in just a few minutes.

This was Morag, an entire abandoned planet.

The original story only said that Star-Lord had found the Orb of the Universe with a scanner, but Fang Mo neither had one nor knew how to use it… That was a little troublesome.

To put it bluntly, at this rate, Fang Mo could search for three days and probably not even finish exploring an area the size of a city.

So soon enough.

His methods gradually became more violent.

Fang Mo kept flying through the air without landing anymore. Whenever he encountered ruins, a thought would bring forth a violent Gravity Field that forcibly tore open the top of the entire structure, exposing every part of its interior.

Fang Mo merely swept his gaze over it, not even slowing down.

As long as he did not find the Orb of the Universe, he would continue flying in one direction. Fortunately, he had JourneyMap to record the areas he had already explored; otherwise, he might have gotten lost while flying around so recklessly.

But even so.

The Orb of the Universe was not easy to find.

The environment here was especially harsh as well, which only worsened Fang Mo’s mood. He had even considered studying the Shadow Clone Jutsu and using Nine-Tails Chakra to create several thousand clones to search for him.

Of course, even without Shadow Clones, Fang Mo could simply find a few local lizards or something, feed them several Golden Apples to improve their intelligence, then try communicating with them through the unbeatable Chinese Language Mod. After all, they had lived here for generations. Maybe they had some impression of the Orb of the Universe.

But before Fang Mo could put either of those ideas into action, he suddenly spotted a group of uninvited guests ahead.

Near a set of ruins, a Kree blackstone ship was preparing to take off.
