Moro’s Death
"I’m not the leader of the Avenging Angels. I’m My Lord’s foremost Avenging Angel."
Annie shouted as Holy Flame surged from her body like endless waves toward Ghost Rider. At the same time, the two missiles changed direction and blasted toward Ghost Rider.
"Even you can’t kill me."
Facing Annie’s terrifying assault, Ghost Rider roared. Hellfire erupted from his body like a volcano, turning into raging flames that crashed toward the Holy Flame.
Boom! Boom! Boom…
The two missiles exploded amid the collision of flames. Hellfire, Holy Flame, and shockwaves swept wildly through the surroundings. Trees and nearby buildings were all overturned before bursting into blazing fire.
One clash of flames wiped out nearly half the hospital.
Annie and Ghost Rider did not care about any of that. They immediately charged at each other, the Holy Flame sword and magical chains colliding fiercely in midair. Every clash produced powerful shockwaves that brutally ravaged the surrounding buildings.
Seeing this, Madame Gao and Colleen quickly led Pepper out of the room and into the open space outside. Madame Gao apologized, "Sorry, their fight is a little too loud."
"It’s fine."
Pepper waved her hand. She touched her stomach and asked worriedly, "Madame Gao, Ghost Rider mentioned Mephisto just now. Could my son be the reincarnation of Mephisto, the Demon King of Hell?"
"No matter whose reincarnation he is, in this life, he is only your son. What kind of person he becomes will depend entirely on how you and Mr. Stark raise him."
Madame Gao said, "Those people outside are all reincarnated angels, but do you think they’re good people?"
"That’s true."
Pepper could not help but let out a sigh of relief. It seemed she would have to spend more time with her child in the future instead of working every day.
Wang Bert, hidden in the shadows, narrowed his eyes slightly. So it really was that bastard Mephisto. What exactly was he trying to do? And just how shameless was he, coming to be Tony’s son?
"Demons without shame are invincible."
Wang Bert shook his head. After thinking for a moment, he sent the gem containing Damon’s soul into Annie’s arms, then opened a spatial portal to watch the battle on Tony Stark’s side.
Watching the intense battle over there, Spider-Man could not help but click his tongue. "Sister Annie is actually this strong?"
"How could she be the leader of Mr. Wang’s guards if she wasn’t strong?" Electro said.
"Does Mr. Wang really need guards?" Wind Demon could not help but complain. "He’s the strongest person on Earth."
"If he didn’t bring guards, would Mr. Wang have to deal with every stray cat and dog himself?" Absorbing Man said. "Besides, taking nine beautiful female guards with him is pretty stylish, isn’t it?"
Everyone said enviously, "That’s true."
Compared to the Super Heroes, Moro’s expression was extremely ugly. Ghost Rider was their trump card, yet he had been stopped by some woman they had never even heard of.
"These traitors are truly hateful."
Moro gritted his teeth, raised the Angel Holy Sword, and shouted at the Super Heroes, "Move aside immediately, or I’ll make everyone outside kill themselves at once."
At that moment, more than a thousand people had gathered outside the Defense Shield. Upon hearing Moro’s command, they immediately placed their weapons against their necks and hearts.
"How dare you?"
The Super Heroes roared. Peter could not help but curse, "And you still call yourselves angels after doing something like this?"
"Why shouldn’t we? We’re saving the world. It is their honor to sacrifice themselves for the world and for God. When they reach Heaven, God will reward them well."
Moro spoke righteously. "Move aside at once. We don’t have time to waste on you."
Everyone clenched their teeth in fury. These angels truly deserved to die.
"You don’t have to move aside, but don’t stop me. Otherwise, everyone outside will die."
Moro snorted and led the eight angels toward Pepper. Electro and the others looked at one another, unsure what to do.
"I’ll bear this sin. It’s not like I’m a good person anyway. At worst, I’ll be treated as a sacrifice."
Harry glanced at Peter and was about to attack when the ordinary people outside suddenly began collapsing one after another.
"What’s going on?"
The Super Heroes and angels were all shocked. At that moment, a little girl with purple hair, purple clothes, and a mask flipped through the air and landed steadily on the ground. She said proudly, "Hit-Girl is here to help you."
All those ordinary people had been poisoned by Hit-Girl’s poisonous gas—her Dragon Soul was a Wood Dragon that could both heal and release poison.
Peter shouted happily, "Mindy, you’re amazing!"
"Idiot, don’t call me by my real name."
Mindy snorted and controlled the gas as it flew toward the hospital. Pepper looked at Mindy with shining eyes and said, "I wish my daughter could be like her."
"You definitely wouldn’t want your daughter to be like her."
Madame Gao shook her head. If Hit-Girl had not been restrained by Blood God and Damon, she would absolutely have been a terrifying little demon.
"Kill them."
With no more worries holding them back, Electro immediately blasted Moro and the others with massive currents of electricity. Moro swung the holy sword and cut down the current before him with a single slash. His expression became uglier than ever. Why had everything gone so badly tonight? The Super Heroes had been holding back their anger, and as soon as Electro attacked, they charged forward.
"Get over here."
Peter and Harry shot spiderwebs at the same time, sticking them to two angels before pulling hard. The two angels flew helplessly toward them.
Then Peter and Harry leaped up at the same time and viciously kicked the angels in the chest, sending them flying far away.
"Even your movements are the same? No wonder your comics sell so well. Unlike me, I’m always in weird comics, and Dr. Richards is always a supporting character."
Absorbing Man complained as he transformed his body into rubber, then used it like a rope to bind a female angel tightly.
The female angel shuddered. Dazzling holy light erupted from her body as she tried to break free from Absorbing Man’s restraints.
"With your fighting style and that appearance, how could you not end up in weird comics?"
Wind Demon suddenly appeared behind an angel and said with a smile, "Big brother will play a game with you."
As he spoke, Wind Demon wrapped around the angel and spun her around like a giant windmill. The angel became so dizzy that she could not fight back at all.
Wind Demon had created this ultimate giant windmill by drawing inspiration from Wang Bert’s secret technique—Left and Right Shake.
Absorbing Man complained, "And you have the nerve to talk about me?"
At the same time, the other Super Heroes also engaged the angels. Basically, aside from Moro and Electro trading blows, all the other angels fell into a disadvantage.
That was perfectly normal. These reincarnated angels were not real warriors. In fact, half a month ago, they had merely been ordinary people.
Which Super Hero had not fought through countless battles? Earth had never been peaceful. If it was not aliens, it was supervillains.
"Damn it."
Moro was both furious and alarmed. This was their final chance. If they failed, they would be completely defeated.
"We cannot let the Grand Elder and the others’ sacrifice be in vain. Everyone, offer your lives and souls to God."
Moro made his decision and shouted. Then he led by example, as holy light around his body burned fiercely like flames. The tremendous aura even sent all the small objects around him flying away.
The eight angels hesitated upon hearing this, but the imprint carved deep into their souls soon made the choice for them.
All eight angels burned their lives and souls at the same time, and their strength suddenly skyrocketed. Even the Super Heroes felt the pressure.
Once power reached a certain level, the importance of technique would greatly diminish.
"I’m getting more and more sick of you idiots."
Electro was somewhat enraged. He flicked a coin into the air, and in the next instant, the coin was accelerated by an electromagnetic field and shot toward Moro at an unimaginable speed, leaving an orange streak in the air.
Electromagnetic Railgun.
From the moment Electro took out the coin, Moro knew what he was about to do. He immediately raised the holy sword in front of himself. The next moment, with a boom, Moro was blasted away and crashed through the building behind him, causing it to collapse.
The Electromagnetic Railgun was terrifyingly powerful. The webbing between Moro’s thumbs split open, but under the effect of holy light, the wounds healed at a visible speed.
Moro then climbed up from the ground, threw an object at Electro, and turned to rush toward Pepper.
Electro ignored the object completely, transformed into electricity, and appeared in front of Moro in an instant. He condensed the current into an Electric Whip and smashed it fiercely toward Moro.
Moro dodged to the side. Just as Electro was about to attack again, the object Moro had thrown earlier curved through the air and transformed into a net of holy light that descended upon him.
Electro was about to evade when Moro suddenly raised the holy sword to control him—the holy sword could control anyone who had believed in angels. The deeper their faith, the stronger the control.
Electro was a casual believer of the Angel Church. Under the holy sword’s radiance, his consciousness grew somewhat sluggish, but that was all. The holy sword could not control him.
Moro had never intended to control Electro. All he wanted was a momentary delay—the net of holy light flew over and trapped Electro tightly.
The net then contracted inward frantically. Electro roared as electricity surged wildly across his body, trying to destroy the net of holy light.
Knowing the net could not hold Electro for long, Moro charged toward Pepper at top speed.
"You’re ruthless with yourself, but you’re still an idiot."
Madame Gao smiled disdainfully. She told Colleen to protect Pepper while she herself leaned on her cane and tottered forward.
Pepper froze, staring at Colleen in astonishment. Shouldn’t you be the one stepping up now? Why was an old lady being sent in as the main fighter?
Colleen merely smiled without saying anything. Madame Gao, who had lived for hundreds of years, was far from simple.
"Die."
Moro did not waste any words. He slashed down at Madame Gao with a sword strike carrying several meters of holy light. Madame Gao smiled contemptuously, released her cane, and moved to Moro’s left at a speed completely at odds with her appearance. She struck toward his shoulder with her palm.
Moro turned sideways and swept his sword toward Madame Gao. She immediately withdrew her move, shifted behind Moro like a phantom, and struck his holy-light-covered back with her palm.
The holy light on Moro’s back shattered on the spot. Then Madame Gao’s palm lightly struck his back.
It was truly light. Moro could barely feel any strength in Madame Gao’s strike.
Moro was puzzled, but he did not dwell on it. He turned and slashed at Madame Gao, who evaded once more, then moved around him like a butterfly among flowers, her palms repeatedly striking different points on his body.
Madame Gao was so fast that to the onlookers, it seemed as though several Madame Gaos were attacking Moro at once.
"Wow, cool."
Peter could not help but shout. Madame Gao was not only unimaginably fast, but her techniques were also nearly perfect. Not a trace of strength was wasted.
Pepper’s eyes were also shining. She had not expected Madame Gao to be so formidable. Her martial arts were as pleasing to the eye as art.
Moro was nearly going mad. He could not hit Madame Gao at all and could only take blows like a punching bag. The only comforting part was that Madame Gao’s palms did not seem to carry much force.
More than ten seconds later, Madame Gao stopped and retreated to where her cane stood. Without even looking at Moro, she grabbed the cane, turned, and walked toward Pepper.
"What do you mean?"
Moro looked utterly confused. That old woman had circled around him, surely not just to touch him? At that moment, explosions suddenly rang out one after another inside Moro’s body. Blood sprayed violently from him as he stared at Madame Gao in disbelief and collapsed straight to the ground.
Moro’s internal organs, meridians, and bones had all shattered. Even with the power of an angel, he died on the spot.
Everyone stared in stunned silence. What had happened? Why had Moro suddenly died?
"Idiot, that was the Heart Shattering Palm."
Mindy, who was fighting Peter over enemies, said disdainfully. Madame Gao stood beside Pepper and said irritably, "Don’t make up names like your Master."
"How is that made up? Watch my Heart Shattering Finger."
Mindy giggled and lightly tapped the back of an angel’s head with one finger. The angel’s eyes suddenly widened and rapidly turned red. Then his body began swaying left and right as though he might collapse at any moment.
Mindy said unhappily, "He didn’t even pass out. Looks like I haven’t mastered it yet."
"Hey, why can you do it when I can’t? Didn’t we train together?"
Peter asked unhappily as he trapped the angel in spiderwebs. Mindy looked at him disdainfully. "Because you’re too stupid, so Madame Gao didn’t want to teach you."
"I’m too stupid? No way. I always thought I was a martial arts genius."
Peter was deeply shaken. Madame Gao shook her head. She had not taught Peter qi because he did not need it. What he needed was to fully bring out Spider-Man’s power.
Just then, the dead Moro suddenly stood upright. Everyone jumped in fright. Was this a corpse reanimation?
Madame Gao was also quite surprised. After sensing him, she sighed. "You actually overcame death with your own will. Moro, it seems I underestimated you. Unfortunately, you pledged loyalty to someone you should not have. Or rather, to a god."
Moro was already dead, but his soul had surpassed death through unparalleled will and controlled his corpse to stand again.
How could he die before completing God’s mission?
"For God."
Moro’s expression was somewhat vacant as he stood up, raised the holy sword, and shouted.
"For God."
The eight angels said nothing more. Their bodies rapidly aged at a visible speed.
Then eight angels formed from holy light flew out of their bodies and straight into Moro’s. Moro threw his head back and roared as his body swelled wildly, holy light rolling turbulently around him like violent lightning.
"Damn it, he wants to take us all down with him."
Everyone was shocked and hurriedly charged over to stop Moro. Just then, Colleen appeared in front of Moro out of thin air and placed her hand on him.
In the next instant, Moro vanished completely, leaving only his unwilling, despairing roar in the air. "No!"
"Why can’t I have the Dragon Soul of the Space Dragon like you?"
Mindy asked enviously. Colleen smiled. "Because the Space Dragon has requirements for the body, and I happen to be suitable."
Mindy was about to say something else when a massive explosion sounded in the distance to the right. Then, it seemed that some building collapsed with a loud crash, and the ground began shaking continuously.
