Multiverse, Starting by Creating Delta of Fate, the Group Went Wild

"Whoa, interesting!"

Kazuma Satou chuckled along and circled him once.

"Ho ho ho! Not bad! Command Spell magecraft, really not bad!"

With those two living treasures serving as cautionary examples,

Kurisu Makise carefully climbed down, barely maintaining her elegance and composure.

"Ah, what a shame."

Kazuma Satou said to Hachiman Hikigaya, "Using up this Command Spell right at the start… it should have been a fairly important resource. No idea whether we can loot more."

Hachiman Hikigaya nodded in agreement.

"It really is a shame."

These were all consumable resources. Every use meant one less.

No, his legs were broken, and this was what they were talking about?

Did they really think this was a game?

Kurisu Makise had just been about to complain when she turned and discovered—

"Who are you people?!"

People from the Police Agency charged toward them.

The three quickly exchanged glances and immediately ran.

Kurisu Makise was no exception. She could not exactly gamble on still being a famous beautiful girl scientist in this world and getting released after being hauled into custody.

She had better not dream of that.

They ran down the street and put some distance between themselves and their pursuers.

"Oh?"

In Kazuma Satou’s field of vision, a trash can by the roadside was surrounded by a white glow.

No way?

He strode toward the trash can, cautiously opened its green lid, and found nothing inside. It was empty and spacious.

But in the darkness, specks of light gradually gathered into a circle, and an item took shape within it.

A plate covered in plastic wrap appeared, containing scarlet chili sauce and tofu.

Craft Essence: Mapo Tofu x1
Type: Food
Rank: F (White)
Effect: Restores 10 stamina upon consumption and slowly restores 3 health.
Consuming it three times consecutively deducts 1 point from maximum health.

"Loot dropped! Wahahahaha!"

Kazuma Satou held the plate of Mapo Tofu overhead with both hands and laughed toward the sky.

The Fuyuki City NPC civilians passing by were completely dumbfounded.

Marcille: "Did he eat a walking mushroom?"

Conan: "What a legend."

Tony: What a legend.

Sakiko Togawa: "What a legend."

Kurisu Makise declared that she did not know this person. They were absolutely not acquainted.

Hachiman Hikigaya would have pretended not to know him in the past too, but after gaming with Kazuma Satou, he could already get what the other guy was thinking.

His hands started itching, and he moved closer.

"Can we loot the trash cans here too?"

"The glowing ones can be looted, just like Delta Force we played before."

"Then I’ll try my luck too."

Kazuma Satou directly stored the white-quality Mapo Tofu in the Replica Rivers and Mountains Map.

"Talk while we move. The police are coming, so let’s get out of here first! Search while running!"

"OJBK!"

After searching for quite a while, Hachiman Hikigaya finally found a glowing trash can inside a Chinese restaurant.

He walked right up, pushed open the glass door, grabbed the large green trash can, and opened it.

"Wait!"

Kazuma Satou shouted from behind him.

Hachiman Hikigaya’s mouth curled as he looked at the white light before him.

"Whoa, but I found this first!"

"No, I’m not going to steal a teammate’s stuff. At most, I steal a few kills. Forget that for now! Look in front of you first?!"

Kazuma Satou’s warning was urgent. He did not sound like he was joking.

Realizing something was wrong, Hachiman Hikigaya raised his head while holding the Mapo Tofu he had looted.

He saw a middle-aged man in priestly robes standing before him, and alarm bells went off in his head.

The other man’s status panel appeared before him.

Character: Kirei Kotomine
Identity: Fuyuki Church priest · ??? · ???
Description: The priest of Fuyuki Church. This Chinese restaurant was a place he frequented, and he loved the extra-extra-spicy Mapo Tofu here. However, beyond his public identity as a priest, he appeared to have many secrets.

Hachiman Hikigaya backed away bit by bit, as though facing a formidable enemy.

Kazuma Satou hid his hand inside his cloak, ready to pull out his bow at any moment.

It was not that they were being overly nervous.

It was because of this priest’s name.

The four characters "Kirei Kotomine" appeared differently in their vision from the white names of ordinary civilians.

Only his name—

—was blood-red.

Kirei Kotomine, Are You an NPC? (3.5k)

"Mages?"

Kirei Kotomine wiped the corner of his mouth with a handkerchief and asked Kazuma Satou’s group, "Which organization do you mages belong to, strutting through the city so ostentatiously in broad daylight?"

The pressure emanating from him was immense.

Kazuma Satou and the others exchanged looks and chose to speak in the group chat first.

Not a NEET: "A red name means a hostile relationship."

Not a NEET: "I think we should avoid saying we’re from Dao Tian Palace."

Genius Beautiful Girl: "Agreed."

Hachiman Hikigaya: "Yahallo, so should we keep running?"

Not a NEET: "Probably not. If we run directly, we’ll definitely be hunted down."

Genius Beautiful Girl: "Then… do we fight?"

Not a NEET: "Honestly, I don’t think we can win. This priest in front of us is at least a minor boss. We’re still in newbie gear and haven’t even looted much trash. My gut tells me that if we fight, things will probably end badly."

Hachiman Hikigaya: "How about asking the group owner?"

Not a NEET: "@Dao Qitian, boss, give us some closed-beta perks."

Dao Qitian: "Fine. Say… you’re people sent by Balek. You don’t need to explain what you’re doing specifically. Just say you came to observe the Grand Ceremony."

Kazuma Satou and the others looked at one another. After a brief standoff among the three-person team, he finally stepped forward with a helpless sigh in his heart.

"We only came to attend a Grand Ceremony. It was Lord Balek’s order."

"Oh?"

Kirei Kotomine nodded dully.

"I see. I thought you were unaffiliated mages, with no manners whatsoever."

"So you’re her subordinates. Then it’s no surprise."

Hearing that she had no manners, Kurisu Makise’s little brows twitched slightly, but she did not react.

"You may stand down."

Kirei Kotomine gave a slight wave toward some presence on the ceiling.

Kazuma Satou looked up.

Stand down?

Was there someone up there?

His vision blurred for a moment, and he seemed to see pale-blue "particles."

The other party gave a soft sound of surprise.

In the next instant, it vanished completely.

Kirei Kotomine rose with his hands behind his back, walked out the door, then suddenly stopped.

"Since you are guests from afar, I will not say much more. Just do not cause such a commotion in the city next time."

His tone was calm and contained no obvious threat, but the meaning behind it was self-evident.

"?"

An NPC was acting this arrogantly?

Kazuma Satou looked at Kirei Kotomine and felt that something was off. He quickly opened the small group chat in his mind.

Kazuma Satou: "Did you guys notice something weird about this NPC?"

Sakiko Togawa: "Isn’t everything about him weird?"

Conan: "It really is."

Kurisu Makise: "Isn’t it normal for him to be weird?"

Hachiman Hikigaya: "Did you… notice something?"

Kazuma Satou: "I have a guess I want to verify, but it’s a little risky."

Hachiman Hikigaya: "Then should we try it?"

Kurisu Makise: "Watch your strength."

Kazuma Satou: "OK."

Kazuma Satou stepped forward and spoke again.

"We only came to attend a Grand Ceremony. It was Lord Balek’s order."

"Oh?"

Kirei Kotomine nodded and dully repeated his earlier response.

"I see. I thought you were unaffiliated mages, with no manners whatsoever."

"So you’re her subordinates. Then it’s no surprise."
