Mysterious Earth Legends? Carl’s Scheme!
Listening to Carl, Morgana gradually calmed down until she was finally rendered completely speechless.
Hollow!
In this field, if Carl claimed second place, no one in the Known Universe would dare call themselves first. Yet Chu Yang had used his own understanding of Hollow to break Carl’s Hollow power!
Most importantly…
This guy was only in his twenties!
Anything could be faked, but Chu Yang’s life on Earth, from birth until now, was right there for all to see. Anyone could easily look up every detail about him.
So young, from a pre-nuclear civilization, yet possessing immense power and technological attainments surpassing most civilizations in the universe—what kind of monster was he?
A genius?
Those two words were no longer enough to describe him!
Morgana remained silent for a long while before suddenly asking, "Carl, do you believe in Earth’s mythological legends?"
Carl, on the other end, froze for a moment. Then he immediately caught up with his old friend’s leap in logic and fell silent.
This was hard to judge!
The demons, monsters, ghosts, Buddhas, immortals, saints, and gods in Earth’s legends were simply too outrageous. The technology in those legends was clearly primitive, yet they possessed combat power comparable to gods.
But then again, wasn’t Sun Wukong an example of legend becoming reality?
Although Sun Wukong had originally been a genetic code hidden within Earth’s mythology, that still indirectly proved the authenticity of those legends.
Chu Yang’s appearance had only made Earth’s legends even more mysterious.
Yomi! Fengdu!
These terms were unfamiliar to most civilizations in the universe, but Morgana and Carl had both studied Earth in detail. Because of Sun Wukong, they had also learned about Earth’s mythological legends.
So far, most of the methods Chu Yang had displayed seemed to originate from Earth’s legends!
"Perhaps we should reevaluate Earth…"
Carl suddenly smiled. "I am now filled with interest in this planet, perhaps even more so than in Hollow!"
Morgana shuddered. She knew Carl well. He was a man who would stop at nothing and had no bottom line when pursuing his goals.
Earth being targeted by him was absolutely not a good thing.
"Carl, don’t blame me for not warning you. Chu Yang isn’t someone you can provoke easily!"
Morgana spoke gravely. "And I won’t help you this time!"
Carl smiled. "It’s all right, Liang Bing. I know you secretly took Rose from the Super Soldier Company on Earth."
"She possesses the Space-Time Gene. That is your life’s greatest love, and she happens to come from Earth, so you won’t make an enemy of Earth."
"But you need to understand that from the moment you took her, you had already placed yourself in opposition to the Super Soldier Company."
"And Chu Yang is the Super Soldier Company’s chief instructor!"
With that, Carl unilaterally cut off the call.
Morgana frowned and headed toward her room.
The moment she pushed open the door, a dagger flew at her through the air.
Morgana gave a light wave of her hand and directly transported the dagger elsewhere through a wormhole.
Inside the room, Rose, clad in black armor, glared at her furiously and gritted her teeth. "Should I call you Liang Bing, or Demon Queen Morgana?"
Morgana spread her hands, instantly changing from her queenly attire into the outfit she wore while walking on Earth: black thigh-high boots, a low-cut V-neck top, and a camel-colored trench coat.
"Aren’t you afraid the instructor will kill you?" Rose glared at her.
Morgana shook her head. "Why would he kill me? I merely took back what already belonged to me!"
"I don’t belong to anyone!" Rose frowned.
Morgana smiled. "The same genes flow through our bodies. You have limitless potential. You shouldn’t waste away on Earth."
"You saw it yourself. The so-called Super Soldier Company was utterly vulnerable before the advanced civilizations of the universe!"
"Of course, Chu Yang is powerful enough, but Earth can’t rely on him alone to protect it forever, can it?"
"Have you ever considered what Earth would face if one day… I mean, if Chu Yang died?"
Morgana’s voice was filled with temptation, and her smile carried a trace of seduction.
Rose’s brows drew together. "What do you mean?"
Morgana sat on the bed, crossed her legs, and said softly, "Aren’t you curious where Chu Yang’s power comes from?"
"His records are spotless. He is only in his twenties, has never come into contact with any civilization or any god-level power, and doesn’t even possess super genes."
"I believe Du Kao is curious as well, but he has restrained himself from investigating!"
"If Chu Yang dies, every civilization in the universe will go mad over the secrets he carries. Earth will become a battlefield once again!"
Rose gave a disdainful laugh. "After all that, you’re just trying to tell me that Earth Civilization may face destruction in some vague future?"
"Earth has the Galaxy Force and the Nuo Star God of War. Once they grow, Earth won’t be weaker than any civilization!"
Morgana shook her head with a laugh. "Placing your hopes in others isn’t the Rose I know."
"Think it over! Join the demons, and you will gain powerful strength. You can even hold your future in your own hands!" Morgana rose and walked toward the door.
As she opened it, she paused slightly, then turned her head and said, "Chu Yang has only protected China on Earth, yet he has ignored the other nations."
"He is like Earth’s lofty ruler, able to decide life and death with a single word!"
"This is dictatorship, and it runs contrary to your Chinese ideals!"
"If you want to escape this dictatorship, you must leave his protection!"
Bang!
Watching the door close, Rose was left somewhat dazed.
It had to be said that Morgana’s words were persuasive, and they had moved her greatly.
But so what?
Earth was safe now. Her comrades were still aboard the Gorge-Class, and her unreliable father was still waiting for her to come home.
Without facing absolute despair, getting Rose to leave her homeland and throw herself into the demons’ embrace was clearly no easy task.
But Morgana was in no hurry, because only she knew that no one would come to save Rose. Chu Yang would not intervene.
Before this, she had already reached an understanding with Chu Yang.
The Super God Academy’s research into the Space-Time Gene was very limited. Earth, a pre-nuclear civilization, was even less capable of providing much help on Rose’s path to becoming stronger.
Though Chu Yang was powerful, he was not omnipotent. The technological power he possessed was equally limited.
There was nowhere more suitable for Rose’s growth than Morgana’s side.
So when she proposed taking Rose away, Chu Yang agreed.
But this was a secret between Morgana and Chu Yang. Other than the two of them, no one would ever know.
Morgana would not give Carl a chance to use the Big Clock to read her information. Now that Keisha was dead, even if someone took her place, it would take time to gain full control of the Sacred Knowledge Vault.
Therefore, as long as she and Chu Yang did not reveal the secret, it would never leak.
Morgana did not care whether Rose would leave the demons and return to Earth after growing stronger.
What she cared about was only whether the Space-Time Crystal could bloom with limitless brilliance!
Just as Morgana arrived at the command center, her mood somewhat eased by the matter of Rose, a demon soldier hurried over and said solemnly:
"Queen, many of our soldiers are still on Earth!"
Morgana froze for a moment, suddenly recalling that when she took Rose away, Rose seemed to have been… fishing bodies out of the vast Yomi Sea?
Wait!
It wasn’t only corpses that had fallen to Earth during the battle!
There were seriously wounded soldiers among them too!
Morgana frowned and asked, "Can we contact them?"
The demon soldier nodded. After hesitating, he said weakly, "Contact has already been established, but…"
"Chu Yang told them to tell you to prepare the ransom and go to Earth to redeem them!"
"What?" Morgana’s eyes widened in utter disbelief. Then she flew into a rage. "Bitch! Bitch! Bitch!"
"That bastard! He’s actually extorting the queen?"
"Where are the angels?! Don’t they have seriously wounded soldiers too?"
The demon soldier shrank his neck. "They were detained by Chu Yang too and require ransom as well. But after Keisha’s death, the Angel Civilization has no leader and can’t spare attention for this matter yet."
Morgana’s expression turned from gloomy to bright, and she suddenly burst into laughter, laughing so hard that she trembled and doubled over. The demon soldier quickly lowered his head, not daring to look.
After a long time, Morgana finally waved her hand. "Go ask Chu Yang! What does he want?"
After being hunted for so many years, Morgana had a fire bottled up inside her. Keisha’s death did not bring her much joy, but seeing the Angel Civilization suffer a setback made her feel as though she had finally vented her anger.
"Instructor! Rose has gone missing!"
The moment Chu Yang returned to the deck of the Gorge-Class, Ge Xiaolun rushed over in a panic, his face full of anxiety.
Chu Yang waved a hand. "I already know. Morgana took her. Don’t worry."
Liu Chuang came over with his eyes wide. "Morgana? That Demon Queen or whatever?"
"I heard demons eat people without even spitting out the bones. Can Rose possibly come to any good in their hands?"
Listening to his heavy northeastern accent, Chu Yang said calmly, "Demon Queen Morgana was once one of the three rulers of Angel Civilization, and Keisha’s biological younger sister."
"Don’t assume the worst of people. When it comes down to it, Morgana is a scholar. Her ideas are simply somewhat extreme."
"Morgana participated in creating the Space-Time Crystal, which is the Space-Time Gene in Rose’s body. She won’t harbor any ill will toward Rose."
"After the War Council ends, I will go see Rose."
Hearing this, the two of them relaxed slightly. Du Kao and the others, who had been listening attentively nearby, also visibly eased up.
Chu Yang looked at Ge Xiaolun and asked, "Didn’t you go to Freyja with Yan? Why are you back so soon?"
At the mention of this, Ge Xiaolun could not help looking dejected. "We were ambushed by demons. Yan seems to have… died…"
"I got her killed!"
Looking at his unshaven face and utterly defeated appearance, Chu Yang smiled and said:
"Who told you Yan died?"
Ge Xiaolun froze, then looked up blankly and gestured with his hands. "But I saw it… That demon used my sword to stab through her body!"
"Her entire upper body was practically split in half. How could she still be alive?"
Chu Yang waved a hand. "She is a god! An angel! You can’t judge her by the standards of an ordinary person!"
"She has a Secondary Biological Engine installed by Keisha. It will activate when she dies. You can think of it as… resurrection!"
"Not only will she not die, she will become the new Angel Queen!"
"The queen?" Ge Xiaolun’s eyes widened. Thinking of the beautiful angel who had constantly teased and flirted with him along the way, and how she would become a lofty ruler like Keisha, he suddenly found it unreal.
Chu Yang could not be bothered to waste words on him and turned to Liu Chuang. "Where is Zhao Xin? Have him bring Zhixin over. I have something to ask her."
Liu Chuang said sourly, "That lovey-dovey couple is probably all over each other. I heard Zhixin is even Xin’s guardian angel!"
"Who knows what she sees in him?"
"It’s not like he’s more handsome than me! Is it just because he’s faster than me?"
Listening to the nonsense pouring from his mouth, Chu Yang smacked the back of his head. Only then did Liu Chuang scamper off to find them.
A moment later, in the conference room.
Looking at Zhao Xin, who sat across from him with an embarrassed expression, and Zhixin, who had folded away her wings and wore a smart green combat uniform, Chu Yang frowned and asked:
"Why did you appear on Earth?"
Zhixin froze for a moment, then asked in return, "The queen came to eliminate Morgana. As her right-wing guard, of course I had to fight alongside her!"
Chu Yang waved his hand. "No, no, I mean…"
"Keisha sent Yan to Freyja. Shouldn’t she have had you remain behind to guard the Shadow World?"
Zhixin looked at him suspiciously. "How do you know that?"
Chu Yang did not explain. He could not exactly say he was a transmigrator, could he?
After thinking for a moment, Zhixin answered, "The queen learned from Carl that Morgana was on Earth. She had doubts at first, so she intended to have me remain behind in the Shadow World."
"But after you wiped out the Taotie Legion in one stroke, the matter caused a huge stir. All sorts of news about Earth spread throughout the universe, and the queen confirmed that Morgana was indeed on Earth."
"Since the information was true, she put aside her doubts and brought me with her."
Understanding dawned on Chu Yang. Then he frowned again. "Then who is guarding the Shadow World?"
"A young one…" Zhixin did not finish speaking before realizing something was wrong.
She was He Xi’s eldest disciple. She had considerable attainments in technology, but she was also highly intelligent.
Thinking of Carl revealing Morgana’s whereabouts to Queen Keisha, then joining forces with Morgana to destroy the queen’s sacred body, coupled with Chu Yang’s question just now, she caught the key to the situation.
Everything seemed to be Carl’s scheme!
With one hand, he had led Morgana along. With the other, he had drawn Keisha in, making two tigers fight each other.
But what exactly was his goal?
Whatever it was, it had to be connected to the Shadow World!
After confirming Keisha’s death, Zhixin had learned many things.
First, Zhao Xin’s various deeds, as well as the matter of Keisha promising her to Zhao Xin.
Second, information about the Secondary Biological Engine, along with some genetic codes.
As she received that information, Zhixin’s understanding of the Known Universe deepened further, and she also touched upon the realm of Hollow.
Without question, Carl’s plot was certainly connected to his Ultimate Fear, or rather…
Hollow!
At this thought, Zhixin’s expression became anxious. "No! I can’t contact Yan right now, nor can I connect to the Sacred Knowledge Vault. I need to return immediately and warn my teacher and Yan!"
