New Trait: Calamity Yin Spirit (3K)
"Big Brother Wuxin, can I really become someone even greater than the Hokage here?"
The blonde youth in an orange jacket and goggles looked somewhat hopeful. The panic on Uzumaki Naruto’s face had gradually faded. The enormous Erdtree above him and this space, where all manner of things could be conjured at any time, filled him with curiosity.
Wuxin smiled gently. He sympathized with the youth whom Heaven’s Will had forcibly brought out. He vaguely guessed Heaven’s Will’s plan. Whether it was guilt or hypocrisy, he wanted to give the youth as much warmth as possible during this final stretch of time.
Inside the exquisite wooden building, Heaven’s Will reclined on the sofa and drank tea with a leisurely expression. Wushang stood by the window, watching Wuxin tease Uzumaki Naruto beneath the distant tree, then spoke.
"Don’t you think you’re being a little too eager with that Mercenary Tao?"
"Even against that kind of monster, we should be able to avoid him if we want to, right?"
He acknowledged Mercenary Tao’s strength and potential, but he did not believe the three of them needed to go so far as to practically "fawn" over him. Especially Heaven’s Will. In Wushang’s eyes, she was a terrifying figure who would not lose out to any reincarnator.
She was someone destined to become a major figure in the space.
That was also why Wushang had remained so steadfastly in this team.
As for their shared past as livestock and the bonds forged through life-and-death struggles, that sort of thing could probably only bind a naïve fool like Wuxin. What he valued was Heaven’s Will’s ability.
During Heaven’s Will’s earlier conversation with Mercenary Tao, she had revealed much intelligence that they had obtained at considerable cost. Those pieces of information would be worth quite a few resources if sold to brokers in the space.
Yet Heaven’s Will had told Mercenary Tao everything in detail, from Talent Anchoring advancement to the Goddess’s hidden services, along with all kinds of secret rumors. Wushang could not understand it.
Moreover, as he watched that blonde youth and recalled the secrets of the Black King Society that Heaven’s Will had been investigating, he already understood the woman’s terrifying plan.
"Giving away information the other side will learn sooner or later and making an impression on a monster before it fully grows up—I think that’s a good investment."
Heaven’s Will set down her teacup. With a thought, soothing music began playing around them. Her ability was powerful, but it also placed a heavy burden on her brain. Outside mission worlds, she needed plenty of time to empty her mind and soothe her nerves.
Wushang frowned. He only believed half of that explanation. He felt that Heaven’s Will had definitely seen something through that special Talent of hers.
"You spent so many resources bringing Uzumaki Naruto out because you want to… create an artificial Black King, don’t you?!"
"Isn’t that too risky? Those top gatherings won’t want to see a new Black King born. With just us, I’m afraid…"
Heaven’s Will lay on the sofa as though she had not heard Wushang. Her face bore a smile that only she herself could understand.
In this space, as long as one had resources and enough time to gather information, one could notice the details hidden beneath everything—the details of how those Supreme Experts and Kings operated…
Do you wish to spend B-rank Anomaly Point ×1 for one Spirit Awakening?
"Yes."
The negative effects of Yellow Springs Erosion and Killing Intent Infusion within Bai Cangshu’s body had finally been completely dispelled. As the master of Yellow Springs, he had unsurprisingly gained resistance to instant death.
He performed Spirit Awakening once more.
The Goddess was quite pleased with Bai Cangshu’s lavish spending of Anomaly Points today. She proactively raised a hand, and Bai Cangshu’s body floated upward.
The Yellow Springs within his body rapidly churned, and the Yin Spirits hidden inside Bai Cangshu immediately sensed the change.
Satoru Gojo raised his head and saw the boundaries of the pure white Consciousness Space begin to blur. A vast and majestic power was trying to break through the shackles of this place from outside.
Uchiha Madara also rose to his feet, coldly watching the howling Yin Spirits around him.
These beings, too weak to possess intelligence, actually accounted for the vast majority of the "spirits" in this space due to their sheer numbers.
Now, seemingly in response to the changes in the space, the weak Yin Spirits began to transform. They gathered together, twisting like black serpents, clinging to one another as their black spirit bodies slowly merged.
Some of the larger individuals stood within the Yellow Springs and began to change form. Some stretched out and no longer resembled humans, mutating into cursed spirits. Others radiated terrifying resentment and became Grudge Spirits.
The Death God in the distance continued wandering through the air, swallowing great numbers of Yin Spirits into its belly as its body grew larger and larger.
All spirits possessed a special kind of perception. That spiritual sense did not rely on any physical senses; it was entirely a transcendental form of precognition. They all sensed the change and the danger.
The true master of this space was awakening, truly bringing the entire space under his control.
Bai Cangshu floated in the Goddess’s palm as intense Soul Power burst from his body. Silver light shone from his eyes. With his soul condensed to an extreme degree, his entire existence became incomparably intense.
It even began to suppress the souls of weaker beings.
Crack!
Bai Cangshu seemed to hear something breaking.
Then a great amount of Soul Power surged forth, and he instantly felt an icy force flow out from his Consciousness Sea.
Twisted black shadows once again flowed across Bai Cangshu’s body.
They were Yin Spirits that had successfully emerged from the Consciousness Space, yet they were utterly unable to seize the Throne of the Heart and were instead squeezed onto Bai Cangshu’s body.
Bai Cangshu looked at the souls constantly moving across his body. With a thought, his intensely solidified soul began to dominate them.
As cracks appeared in the pure white Consciousness Space, the Yellow Springs had yet to flow out, but the true power within this bloodline had already begun to emerge.
Bai Cangshu spread his arms. His entire mind condensed into one. Within the Consciousness Space, both Satoru Gojo and Uchiha Madara showed surprise. They saw that the man seated atop the Throne of the Heart, who should have been sitting motionless like a statue, had opened his eyes and spread his arms as well.
The next moment, immense pressure descended.
Boom!
The Goddess watched as the interesting reincarnator in her palm finally completed his cleansing, then tossed him down.
The black shadows on Bai Cangshu’s body slowly descended. In the end, they emerged from beneath his feet and stretched across the White Jade Plaza.
One pitch-black shadow appeared beneath Bai Cangshu, followed by a second and a third. Like a circular formation, they radiated outward from beneath his feet.
There was no concept of a light source in this White Jade Plaza. Bai Cangshu had never seen shadows here before. Neither he nor the enormous Goddess had ever cast one.
But now, he had shadows.
He looked at the shadows beneath his feet. With a thought, one of them slowly rose.
The twisted black Yin Spirit stood over six meters tall, its body slender. Though humanoid, its proportions carried a horrifying sense of disharmony.
The moment the Yin Spirit rose from the shadow, terrifying malice appeared on its black face. It then opened its mouth and let out a silent shriek.
Bang!
The Goddess withdrew her gaze in disgust. With a mere thought from her, the Yin Spirit shattered.
"Too noisy."
You have completed Spirit Awakening. The effect is excellent.
You have obtained the Trait: Calamity Yin Spirit (Special · Unique)—The owner of the Myriad Tribulations Yin Spirit Yellow Springs Physique may summon the Yin Spirits within their body and freely control their actions in the human world. Yin Spirits may receive the host’s attribute bonuses, while also providing the host with special ability bonuses. The number of Calamity Yin Spirits summoned each time is related to the quality of the Yin Spirits and the host’s abilities.
The note after this Trait was not Extremely Rare, but Special · Unique. Bai Cangshu realized that this was likely one of the innate Traits of the Myriad Tribulations Yin Spirit Yellow Springs Physique.
After repeated cleansing and Spirit Awakening, this special physique had finally begun to reveal the extraordinary qualities of a Mythical Species physique.
Not only could he contain souls, he could also completely control these Yin Spirits. He could now even awaken them and have them fight for him.
At this moment, he could see two scenes at once. One was naturally the scene on the White Jade Plaza. The other was the enormous white Consciousness Space, where the Yellow Springs boiled while he sat upon the lofty Throne of the Heart, looking down upon countless howling Yin Spirits below.
With his arms spread, the Yin Spirits were suppressed by terrifying Soul Power, their spirit bodies forced to bow low, as if he were an emperor ruling over the world of Yin Spirits.
Pop, pop, pop~
Under that terrifying pressure, the souls swallowed into the Death God’s belly were spat out one after another. Not only the Yin Spirits from this space, but even the souls it had swallowed in its original world were being expelled.
The blond Namikaze Minato had just been squeezed out of the Death God’s belly when he felt the terrifying pressure. Instinctively, he fell into the Yellow Springs, and only then did the pressure lessen.
Namikaze Minato watched the terrifying figure atop the throne in the sky with vigilance while surveying his surroundings from the corner of his eye.
The next moment, his expression changed. A long-haired man wearing the Uchiha Clan’s iconic armor was also standing in that murky water. Sensing his gaze, the man turned around, his scarlet Sharingan unmistakable.
"Uchiha… What exactly is this…?"
No one answered Namikaze Minato. The next moment, the man atop the throne lowered his hands and slowly closed his eyes. The terrifying pressure in the space gradually vanished as well.
The Yin Spirits began howling once more, freely attacking and devouring one another.
Under immense pressure, these Yin Spirits were being forced to transform once again. They either devoured other spirit bodies or were devoured themselves. The weak spirits would become nourishment for stronger ones.
They could all sense that once the white space above shattered, perhaps a terrifying calamity would descend.
Satoru Gojo and Uchiha Madara also realized this trend. This space would not remain so stable forever, and the Yin Spirits were not truly immortal here.
"Tch, what a troublesome guy."
Satoru Gojo lowered his eyelids and pulled down his blindfold. Within the Six Eyes, the arrogance of throughout heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one surfaced once more.
