#400
One Problem After Another
"Your time is up."
Knull, having burst through the gravitational field, threw back his head and laughed wildly. Then, every eye on his body fired crimson lasers at Tony and Ivan simultaneously, a dense barrage several times more numerous than Tony’s own lasers.
"Pretty boy, you really know how to arm the enemy."
Ivan cursed and transformed his whip into a thunder dragon, which frantically spat lightning spheres to block the lasers. But there were simply too many lasers, and the thunder dragon was soon riddled with holes.
Seeing this, Tony hurriedly controlled the Vibranium Crescent Wheel to rise into the air and spin at high speed as it slashed toward Knull.
Knull opened his mouth and fired a dazzling Lightning Beam. The crescent wheel was blasted away on the spot. Then, the Lightning Beam broke apart, transforming into countless lightning spheres that bombarded Tony.
"You’ve got the nerve to say that about me? Aren’t you doing the same thing?"
Tony grumbled as he rapidly dodged the lightning spheres.
Just then, the Vibranium drone arrived. Jessica immediately went to retrieve the potion, but Knull merely glanced at her and made no attempt to stop her.
What was there to stop? At worst, he would die once more. When that happened, he would only become stronger.
After merging with the God Abomination, Knull’s intelligence had plummeted. That was quite terrible, considering he had not possessed much intelligence to begin with.
Jessica quickly obtained the Gene Potion. Without wasting any time, she flew straight in front of Knull and viciously slammed her right fist, blazing with red light, toward his head.
Knull smiled disdainfully and raised a hand to firmly catch Jessica’s fist. Then, he used the God Abomination’s power to crazily corrode the red light around Jessica—he wanted to contaminate Jessica and turn her into a God Abomination as well.
Jessica did not dodge. She gripped the syringe in her left hand and thrust it forward with all her strength. The genetic needle plunged deep into Knull’s chest, and the potion inside was swiftly injected into his body.
Knull paid it little attention. He could not die anyway. Right now, the most important thing was contaminating Jessica.
"Very soon, you’ll become a disgusting monster just like me. Your hands will be covered in rotten flesh, and eyes will grow all over your body."
Knull said with a vicious expression. Jessica’s face changed slightly as she gathered all the red light around her body into her fist, intending to hold on until Knull’s "poison" took effect.
Tony and Ivan did not remain idle either, launching attacks at Knull together. Knull was about to counterattack when his body suddenly twisted and warped. His muscles rotted and dissolved, making him look disgustingly grotesque.
"I’m definitely going to have nightmares."
Even a tough man like Ivan shuddered. He lashed out and broke Knull’s arm, allowing Jessica to pull away. Then, she held the ruby in her hand and stared intently at Knull.
In just a few seconds, Knull became an indescribably hideous monster, the kind that would give anyone nightmares for half a year after one glance. At the same time, every part of his body hurt, every cell being torn apart. Even an Ancient God could not help letting out a shrill scream.
In the end, Knull turned into a revolting lump of rotten flesh and died miserably on the spot.
One breath later, Knull resurrected, but he was still a lump of rotten flesh, no different from before. If there was any difference, it was that he was even more disgusting than before.
Seeing this, Jessica immediately threw the ruby onto the rotten flesh. The ruby flashed, opening an interdimensional passage, and Knull was swiftly sucked inside.
"No!"
Knull, with only a trace of sanity remaining, struggled with all his might, but he could not break free from the Space Channel’s suction. Before long, he was transported to the dimension where the Crimson God resided.
Looking at the lump of rotten flesh before him, the Crimson God grinned. A fun new toy had arrived—one that could entertain him for at least a thousand years.
The Crimson God did not reverse time to restore Knull. He simply waited quietly to see whether Knull could recover the strength of an Ancient God. Fights with Ancient Gods were the only ones worth enjoying.
Knull’s "wonderful" life had officially begun.
"Finally, it’s done."
Jessica put away the ruby and let out a long breath. Ivan and Tony did the same. This God Abomination Knull had been far too disgusting, but fortunately, they had finally dealt with him for good.
"Jessica, let me confirm this one more time. We’ll never see Knull again, right?"
Tony asked. Jessica nodded. "That’s right. We’ll never see him again. And his future days will be worse than death."
"Then we can rest easy."
Ivan and Tony nodded in satisfaction at the same time. After several rounds against that guy, they had finally eliminated him completely.
Knull, the super Ancient God older than the universe itself, had been utterly taken down.
"Let’s go help Quake King. He’s in bad shape."
Tony said. Ivan and Jessica turned and saw Quake King struggling beneath Annihilus’s ferocious assault like a small boat in a raging sea, ready to capsize at any moment.
Quake King was indeed powerful, even comparable to a Half-Step Ancient God. But after the sacrifice, Annihilus had fully recovered his strength. Waves of annihilation energy came one after another like a surging tide, and even Quake King could not withstand them.
"I’ll go help him. You two deal with those Demon Gods."
Jessica was about to go over when Dracula’s voice came through the communicator. "Quake King doesn’t need help. Come help me hold back these Demon Gods."
The three turned and saw Dracula being pursued by three furious Demon Gods. As Jessica flew toward him, she asked in astonishment, "What happened? Why are you being chased? And aren’t you immortal?"
"I am immortal, but I need to save my immortal body for you all. I can’t waste it on myself."
Dracula shouted. At that moment, his entire body suddenly vanished—he had been annihilated.
Tony froze, then hurriedly turned around and saw Quake King escaping from a mass of annihilation black light. Clearly, he had just been struck by an annihilation wave. The reason he had not died was that Dracula had taken the damage for him.
In fact, this was not the first time. Sailing through a raging sea was never easy. Without Dracula, Quake King would have been completely annihilated long ago.
Having escaped death, Quake King did not become afraid. Instead, he grew excited—after dying several times, he had gradually begun to sense the universe’s breathing, the universe’s vibrations.
Annihilus, it won’t be long before I return everything to you in full.
Quake King thought coldly. Seeing that Quake King had survived yet again, Annihilus angrily shouted at the three Demon Gods, "Hurry up and deal with Dracula! Keep him dead!"
These three Demon Gods had been specifically sent over by Annihilus. Hulk and the others had wanted to stop them, but other Demon Gods had held them back.
"Don’t worry. We won’t let him escape again this time."
A Demon God who looked like a block of ice said coldly. They had cornered Dracula before, only for him to talk his way out with smooth words. The three of them had been furious enough to grind their teeth.
"Absolutely not."
The other two Demon Gods nodded resentfully and joined the Ice Block Demon God in surrounding the place where Dracula had died.
At that moment, Dracula resurrected and cursed unhappily, "I knew I was going to have bad luck. How many times have I died already? When we get back this time, Blood God had better give me a huge red packet."
"You’ll die again soon enough."
The Ice Block Demon God was about to attack when a red beam slammed into his back, sending him flying away like a meteor. Jessica had arrived.
Not only Jessica, but Tony and Ivan had arrived as well. As they fought the Demon Gods, they asked, "Dracula, why doesn’t Quake King need help? Isn’t he in terrible shape?"
"He’s comprehending a concept. If you help him, you’ll be harming him."
Dracula sighed in relief and explained, "Protect me properly. I’m very important right now, so I can’t just die randomly."
"Right, you have to die meaningfully."
Tony mocked. Dracula said proudly, "It can’t be helped. I’m just that important now. I, Dracula, am the greatest professional scapegoat from ancient times to the present."
Jessica mocked, "No matter how professional a scapegoat you are, you’re still a scapegoat. What are you so proud of?"
Dracula was about to respond when his chest suddenly split open. Then, a large amount of deathly black light surged from the wound, and his body vanished at an astonishing speed.
"Did Quake King die again?"
Tony asked in shock. He turned to look and found Quake King completely unharmed. Realizing something, he hurriedly looked toward the Domain of Death and saw Carol pierced through by Hela’s Night Sky Sword.
That was right, Carol had been pierced by Hela. Hela could affect time. Although Little Hela and Carol had fought desperately, they had still been defeated.
What about Thor? Thor was "playing" with Fenrir.
"Hela!"
Carol glared furiously at Hela. Though she had been pierced through, she felt little pain because all the damage had been transferred to Dracula.
However, the Night Sky Sword was filled with death energy. Carol’s body was saturated with it, leaving her unable to move or use Space Energy.
"Senior Sister Carol, in the end, I’m still stronger."
Hela said with a faint smile. "Oh, and don’t place too much hope in Dracula. After he dies, he needs a little time to resurrect. That little bit of time is enough for me to kill you ten times. In other words, Senior Sister Carol, you’ll die very soon."
Carol’s expression changed slightly. She was not afraid of death, but there were still many people in this universe who needed her help.
"Hela!"
Little Hela went all out, manifesting countless Light Swords that filled the sky as they shot toward Hela, trying to help Carol escape.
Hela raised her left hand, and a large number of black swords appeared, blocking all of Little Hela’s Light Swords. Then, a black ring of light appeared beneath Little Hela’s feet, and her expression immediately became blank.
This was the Death Circle. Once enveloped, one’s mind would fall into an illusion of death—in the illusion, one would be killed again and again until the mind collapsed and the brain died.
Of course, given Little Hela’s strength, the Death Circle could not kill her. Hela was merely using it to stall for time while she killed Carol.
"Senior Sister Carol, I can see fear in your eyes."
Hela smiled. "Don’t worry. I’ll preserve your soul. Once the insect calamity is over, I’ll resurrect you. After all, we are from the same school."
"I don’t need your pity."
Carol gritted her teeth.
Hela burst into laughter. "What does it matter to me whether you need it? If I want to pity you, you have to accept it, because I’m the victor."
Carol gritted her teeth in fury, but there was nothing she could do.
At that moment, Dracula was completely reduced to ashes by the divine power of death. Carol screamed, even coughing up blood. Hela smiled smugly. Once she finished off Carol, Little Hela would be next.
One-on-one, killing Little Hela would not be difficult for her.
Just then, a burst of bloody light erupted from Carol’s body. When it faded, Carol had vanished, replaced by Dracula, who was pierced through by the Night Sky Sword.
"Surprise!"
Dracula said with a broad smile. "Didn’t expect that, did you?"
At the same time, Carol appeared on the spatial barrier, and all her injuries vanished. Carol was overjoyed and hurriedly circulated Space Energy to drive out the death energy.
Carol had appeared on the barrier because the Domain of Death allowed entry but not exit. Otherwise, she should have appeared where Dracula had originally been.
"How is this possible?"
Hela shouted in disbelief. "Weren’t you dead? And why did you replace Carol?"
"I’m a professional scapegoat. In order to carry forward the noble profession of being a scapegoat, I’ve spent all these years diligently studying how to die in someone else’s place more effectively. Through unremitting effort, I finally created two ultimate scapegoat techniques."
Dracula said smugly, "One lets me switch places with the person I’m dying for, and the other is Instant Resurrection. Hela, with me, the professional scapegoat Dracula, here, you won’t kill a single person today."
Looking at the arrogant Dracula, Hela opened her mouth, unsure where to begin mocking him.
Seriously, you were just a scapegoat. Was there any need to be this arrogant? And studying how to die in someone else’s place more effectively, then even creating two ultimate techniques? Was there really nothing wrong with you? Though there was much to mock, she could not deny that Dracula’s two moves were truly powerful. They amounted to unlimited substitutions. With him around, it was almost impossible for Hela to kill Carol.
"Bragging again."
Lilith sensed what was happening in the Domain of Death and secretly rolled her eyes. What normal person would cultivate scapegoat techniques? The reason Dracula possessed these two new ultimate techniques was because Blood God had advanced.
Dracula’s immortality was closely linked to the Blood Clan. Simply put, the stronger the Blood Clan became, the more astonishing his immortal abilities would be.
Although Wang Bert had always considered himself human, he still possessed Blood Clan bloodline and was part of the Blood Clan. As he broke through, Dracula’s abilities rose with the tide, automatically granting him two ultimate techniques—two techniques neither Dracula wanted at all.
"This must be Blood God’s doing. Otherwise, how could two ultimate techniques specifically made for a scapegoat possibly appear?"
Dracula had cursed for an entire day back then and even sworn never to use those two techniques for the rest of his life. Yet today, he had not only used them but even flaunted them.
With skin that thick, if he claimed second place, who would dare claim first?
No matter what, Dracula was now truly an exceptionally professional scapegoat, perhaps even the greatest in the universe.
"Dracula, since you want to die so badly, I’ll send you on your way."
Hela snorted coldly. Ten sword phantoms suddenly appeared around her. Then, all ten sword phantoms swung in an utterly unremarkable manner. It was Death Slash—or rather, tenfold Death Slash.
Within the unseen void, ten sword phantoms simultaneously slashed at Dracula’s Death Line. Dracula smiled disdainfully and did nothing. The next moment, all ten sword phantoms cut through the Death Line. The Death Line first split into eleven pieces, then all shattered at once.
Hela sneered. She refused to believe that Dracula could remain alive after his Death Line had been completely annihilated.
Dracula flickered on the Night Sky Sword. The next second, he solidified again and waved at Hela with a smile.
"Surprise!"
