Peach Blossom Mountain Manor, Taking the Kids Shopping
Peach Blossom Mountain Manor
As soon as Su Yu entered while carrying Huang Rong and Huang Rou, he took in the sight of the manor and smiled. Looking at Qu Lingfeng and the other three, he said, "Eldest Brother, you’ve truly put your hearts into this. If my father comes here someday, he’ll definitely be moved."
Qu Lingfeng and the others smiled. Qu Lingfeng said, "We missed the days on Peach Blossom Island, so we made Peach Blossom Mountain Manor exactly the same as the manor on the island."
Su Yu closed his eyes slightly, his spiritual sense sweeping across the entire manor. Then he smiled and nodded. "The layout is already nearly ninety percent identical to the one on the island."
The four looked at Su Yu curiously. Wu Mianfeng asked, "Little Junior Brother, is there still something unfinished? The four of us checked it dozens of times afterward. There shouldn’t be a ten-percent difference."
Su Yu smiled and shook his head. "Second Brother, it’s not that anything was unfinished. The remaining ten percent of the manor on the island consists of formations. None of you four learned my father’s formations, so you couldn’t set them up. But in a few days, I can help you arrange them.
The formation in the manor is called the Mist Array. It uses a well as its formation core and peach trees as formation flags. It can be considered a small-scale Peach Blossom Array. Anyone who climbs over the walls and enters the manor will lose their way inside."
The four of them stared at Su Yu with shining eyes. This formation was obviously meant to prevent thieves. After all, what kind of good person climbed over walls to enter a manor?
"Then we’ll have to trouble you, Little Junior Brother." Qu Lingfeng clasped his fists in thanks.
"It’s nothing. We’re family," Su Yu replied with a smile.
Lu Chengfeng said, "We didn’t eat anything good on the ship along the way. I’ll have the servants prepare a fine feast right away to entertain you."
"Food? Yes, yes! I’m hungry anyway," Huang Rong said, her eyes lighting up.
Lu Chengfeng smiled. "Since Rong Er says she’s hungry, let’s go to the main hall. The food will be ready soon."
Su Yu nodded and led Huang Rong and Huang Rou toward the main hall. Since Peach Blossom Mountain Manor had been arranged exactly like the manor on the island, they did not need anyone to guide them. Even Su Yu felt as though they had never left Peach Blossom Island.
After lunch, Huang Rong came over to Su Yu and said, "Brother, let’s go out and play. This place is exactly like home. It’s no fun at all."
Su Yu gave a wry smile. "All right. We’ll go out for a walk this afternoon."
Huang Rong immediately jumped up in delight, then took Huang Rou’s little hand and happily went off to whisper secrets with her.
Su Yu looked at Qu Lingfeng and the others. "Senior Brothers, I’ll take the two of them out to have some fun this afternoon."
Qu Lingfeng nodded. "Little Junior Brother, although your cultivation is the greatest in the world, I still have to remind you: the martial world is dangerous. When outside, never trust others too easily."
Su Yu smiled and nodded. "Eldest Brother, don’t worry. I understand all that."
Qu Lingfeng nodded. At that moment, Lu Guanying spoke up. "Uncle, I want to go play too."
Before Qu Lingfeng could say anything, Lu Chengfeng said, "Play? What play? Stay home and cultivate properly. Look at Xiao Ling. When has she ever been like you?"
Lu Guanying immediately pouted unhappily and fell silent. Su Yu smiled and said, "Third Brother, don’t be too strict with Guan Ying. He’s only four years old. This is exactly the age when children like to play."
Lu Chengfeng sighed and said in frustration, "Little Junior Brother, I’m not asking that brat to measure up to you, but surely he should be better than Xiao Ling, right? Yet all he knows is how to play every day."
Qu Lingfeng said with a wry smile, "Third Brother, what do you mean by that? Look, Xiao Ling is already angry."
Lu Chengfeng froze for a moment. Seeing Qu Xiaoling glaring at him with puffed cheeks, he hurriedly said, "Xiao Ling, don’t overthink it. Third Uncle didn’t mean anything else."
"Brother, let’s go play," Huang Rong said softly as she came to Su Yu’s side.
Su Yu smiled and nodded, then looked at Qu Lingfeng and the others. "Eldest Brother, we’ll be going now."
"Wait, wait. Someone, come here," Feng Mofeng quickly called out.
A servant immediately brought over a bag of money and handed it to Feng Mofeng. Feng Mofeng took the money bag and stuffed it into Su Yu’s hand. "Little Junior Brother, there are bound to be plenty of places outside where you’ll need money. When you run out, come back for more. Peach Blossom Mountain Manor may not have much else, but as for silver, we have more than we can count."
Su Yu smiled and accepted the money, then said, "Fourth Brother, thank you."
"It’s nothing. Oh, are you still bringing your Jade Flute?" Feng Mofeng pointed at the Jade Flute hanging from Su Yu’s waist.
Su Yu casually replied, "I’ll bring it. I can play it when there’s nothing else to do, and if I run into enemies, I can use it against them."
Feng Mofeng nodded without saying anything more. The four of them all knew that Su Yu was extremely accomplished in the art of music.
Soon afterward, Su Yu left Peach Blossom Mountain Manor with Huang Rong and Huang Rou. The moment the two girls stepped onto the bustling street outside, their eyes lit up as they looked everywhere. But because they were short and there were so many people, they sometimes became so anxious that they practically wanted to jump.
Su Yu smiled wryly and picked them both up. Huang Rong suddenly spotted something that looked like a Lollipop and immediately pointed in that direction. "Brother, what’s that? Why are several Lollipops strung together?"
"That’s Sugar-coated Haws. There are hawthorn berries inside, with a layer of sugar on the outside," Su Yu explained.
Huang Rong’s eyes lit up. "Sugar? I want some, I want some!"
"All right, all right. Since it’s not often that we get to come out, I’ll let you have some this once," Su Yu said with a smile, carrying the two little girls over to the Sugar-coated Haws vendor.
Su Yu took two Sugar-coated Haws and left after paying. Although he was only nine years old, he was already about one meter sixty tall and looked like a fifteen-year-old boy. At that age, children were no longer considered very young in ancient times, so no one on the street treated Su Yu like a child.
The three spent the entire afternoon strolling through the city. Huang Rong and Huang Rou remained full of energy because Su Yu carried them the whole way. The two little girls looked like young ladies, while Su Yu looked like a servant, running around with them all afternoon.
Seeing that the sun was about to set, Su Yu asked with a wry smile, "Have you two had enough shopping yet?"
"No," Huang Rong said with a perfectly serious expression.
Su Yu rolled his eyes at Huang Rong. "Even if you haven’t had enough, we have to go back. It’s almost time for dinner."
"Dinner? Then let’s hurry back!" Huang Rong immediately nodded.
"You little glutton."
"Hmph! Father said being able to eat is a blessing."
"Do you know what kind of blessing Father meant?"
"What did he mean?"
"Meat! Xiao Rong Er, I’m afraid you’ll turn into a little fatty someday."
"I’ll bite you, you stinky brother! You’re the one who’ll turn into a fatty!"
The three of their shadows stretched across the street as they walked back toward Peach Blossom Mountain Manor.
