Three Leave the Island, Arriving in Jiangnan
Seeing how anxious the two were, as if they wanted to stuff the entire lollipop into their mouths in one bite, Su Yu glanced at Huang Rong. Huang Rong immediately shot him a glare. "What are you looking at me for? I didn’t do anything."
Su Yu smiled and rubbed Lu Guanying and Qu Xiaoling’s little heads. "Don’t be in such a hurry, you two. I’ll teach you a trick: lick the entire lollipop all over. That way, a certain little glutton definitely won’t snatch it from you."
Their eyes lit up as they nodded. While licking their lollipops, they thought, Why hadn’t I thought of such a good idea before?
Huang Rong pouted. "I wouldn’t snatch someone else’s lollipop! Hmph!"
Huang Rou looked at Lu Guanying and Qu Xiaoling. "Guanying, Xiao Ling, my sister and I will play a song for you."
Lu Guanying and Qu Xiaoling exchanged baffled looks and spoke in unison. "Huh? Sister Rong knows how to play the guqin too?"
Huang Rong: "???"
Fuming, Huang Rong grabbed Lu Guanying’s ear with one hand and pinched Qu Xiaoling’s chubby cheek with the other. "Are you two asking for a beating?"
Su Yu burst into laughter, while Huang Rou could not help but snicker a few times.
"Hmph! A bunch of bad people!" Huang Rong said indignantly.
"Sister, don’t be angry. Let’s play the Origin Nurturing Heart Calming Melody together," Huang Rou said.
Huang Rong nodded, then looked at Lu Guanying and Qu Xiaoling. "I’ll show you how amazing I am!"
As she spoke, Huang Rong returned to her seat and exchanged a glance with Huang Rou. The next moment, the two almost simultaneously began plucking the strings of the guqins before them, and a melodious tune soon rang out.
Su Yu watched the scene and nodded slightly. As expected of the telepathic Twin Swords. The two had barely practiced playing together, yet they could perform a flawless piece. Even as Su Yu used his divine sense to observe Huang Rong and Huang Rou’s hands, he could not detect the slightest difference in their movements.
When the song ended, the two sat stunned for a moment before clapping desperately.
Hearing the applause, both Huang Rong and Huang Rou revealed delighted smiles.
A few days later
Qu Lingfeng’s group of six and Su Yu’s group of three prepared to leave Peach Blossom Island. Huang Laoxie and Feng Heng saw them off at the shore. Huang Laoxie hugged Huang Rong and Huang Rou as he said, "Rong’er, Rou’er, once you leave Peach Blossom Island, you must listen to your brother. Don’t run around on your own. Stay close to your brother at all times. Rong’er, especially you. Do you understand?"
Huang Rong and Huang Rou obediently nodded. Huang Laoxie sighed. "I really can’t bear to part with you two little girls."
"Come on, Dad. We’re only going out for a month or two. Don’t look like you’re marrying off your daughters, all right?" Su Yu said with a bitter smile.
Huang Laoxie rolled his eyes at Su Yu. "What do you know, brat? You’ll understand how I feel once you become a father yourself."
Su Yu shrugged, thinking, Didn’t I become a father earlier than you?
"All right, we’re leaving." Su Yu picked up Huang Rong and Huang Rou and boarded the ship. Qu Lingfeng and the other four had already gone aboard. Once Su Yu, Huang Rong, and Huang Rou had boarded, Qu Lingfeng looked at Huang Laoxie and Feng Heng. "Master, Mistress, you should head back. Don’t worry. With the four of us here, we will never allow Rong’er and Rou’er to suffer even the slightest injury or grievance!"
Huang Laoxie nodded. "Go."
Qu Lingfeng and the other four nodded, then gave their orders. Soon after, the ship slowly set sail.
Huang Laoxie and Feng Heng watched until the ship vanished over the sea before turning back. It was Huang Rong and Huang Rou’s first time traveling far from home, and Huang Laoxie truly could not help worrying. He had even wanted to secretly follow them.
On the ship, Huang Rong ran around everywhere in curiosity. Come to think of it, this was Huang Rong and Huang Rou’s first time aboard a ship. Unlike Huang Rong, Huang Rou sat quietly inside the cabin and practiced the guqin.
For this trip, Su Yu had brought some spare clothes and a high-quality Jade Flute. Huang Rong and Huang Rou had also brought spare clothes and their guqins. However, judging by the situation, Huang Rong clearly had no intention of practicing the guqin during their time outside.
Once Huang Rong had tired herself out from running around, she returned to the cabin to rest. Qu Lingfeng looked at Su Yu. "Junior Brother, Master mentioned before that you reached the grandmaster peak, the pinnacle of martial arts, some days ago?"
By the pinnacle of martial arts, Qu Lingfeng meant the grandmaster peak of this martial arts world.
Su Yu smiled and nodded. Qu Lingfeng and the other four exclaimed in amazement, "Congratulations, Junior Brother! You truly must be an earthly immortal now!"
In this martial arts world, the grandmaster realm could indeed be considered that of an earthly immortal. Once a martial artist entered the innate realm, they could live to three hundred years old. At the initial grandmaster stage, they could live to five hundred; at the middle stage, six hundred; at the late stage, seven hundred; and at the peak, eight hundred.
Throughout the Condor Trilogy, only Zhang Sanfeng had entered the initial innate stage. Even then, people had already called Zhang Sanfeng an earthly immortal. Thus, calling Su Yu an earthly immortal at his current cultivation was not an exaggeration.
"What earthly immortal? It only means I can live a little longer. Senior Brothers, don’t keep talking about it," Su Yu said with a smile.
Feng Mofeng said speechlessly, "Junior Brother, it is said that one can live for five hundred years at the initial grandmaster stage. That is not merely a little longer!"
Su Yu smiled and did not refute him. The rumor was supported by solid evidence. Although there were no grandmasters in the Condor Trilogy, there had been some in Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils. Wu Yazi and his two junior sisters in the early part of Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils had been grandmasters. If Qiao Feng had not died in the end, he certainly would have entered the grandmaster realm as well. Duan Yu and Xu Zhu later became grandmasters too. Even the Shaolin Temple’s Sweeper Monk had somehow encountered a fortunate opportunity and reached the grandmaster peak.
Huang Rong, Huang Rou, and Lu Guanying had little interest in what Qu Lingfeng and the others were discussing. Qu Xiaoling, however, gazed at Su Yu with a face full of admiration. She knew the realms of martial artists and understood what a grandmaster represented. That was a true expert two whole levels above the famously renowned Five Greats.
A day later, the ship arrived at a Jiangnan dock. The group disembarked, and Huang Rong and Huang Rou curiously looked around. Su Yu picked them both up, first so they could see more clearly, and second because he feared Huang Rong might suddenly run off.
Qu Lingfeng said, "Let’s go. We’ll return to Peach Blossom Mountain Manor first. Tomorrow, I’ll take you around to have some fun."
Su Yu nodded. "Sure, but when the time comes, I’ll just take these two out for a walk myself. Eldest Senior Brother, you can all go about whatever business you have. There’s no need to worry about us."
How could Qu Lingfeng and the other four possibly not worry? But when they thought of how Su Yu had been like an adult ever since childhood, and how he was the strongest person in the world, they felt that they did not even have the right to worry.
