Nowadays, China’s aerospace carriers were being launched like dumplings dropping into a pot. In just half a year, another two aerospace carriers had been completed.

These two aerospace carriers were named Zhiyuan and Jingyuan, and both were handed over to the navy. Their names were also meant to remind the Chinese people that some things could never be forgotten.

Originally, given China’s strength, these two aerospace carriers had been given those names to deter a certain island nation. Unexpectedly, Zheng Xian learned from Chen Mu about the multiverse.

How could they not take the chance to wipe away their past humiliation?

So although Zheng Xian did not have the authority to mobilize naval warships, he knew that if he made the proposal, there would definitely be no problem!

"Um, did it really have to be done this way? After all, there are innocent people on that island…"

Chen Mu still could not quite bring himself to accept Zheng Xian’s idea of outright genocide.

"Innocent my ass."

Zheng Xian rolled his eyes and looked at Chen Mu solemnly. "When an avalanche falls, not a single snowflake is innocent. When that country embraced militarism, not one of its people was innocent either."

Many people might not understand history. During that war, all of Japan had gone mad. It was not just the military—the civilians had gone mad as well. After getting a taste of the benefits brought by war, that nation revealed its terrifying side.

Regardless of the consequences, practically the entire population supported that war.

To them, it was a war that wagered their nation’s fate, and they were willing to pay any price.

Why had that tiny island nation unleashed such terrifying wartime potential and industrial strength during that war?

Was it not because of the support of those so-called "innocent" civilians? Even their pots, bowls, and every scrap of metal had been sent to military factories to make weapons.

And you still told me they were innocent?

"Go ask the soldiers and ordinary people of that era whether, if they had the chance, they would be willing to see that island sink."

Zheng Xian spoke calmly, but his words brimmed with overwhelming killing intent—killing intent toward that country.

"…"

Wasn’t the answer obvious?

If they had the chance to make the invader’s country sink, everyone from that era would surely have applauded.

"Besides, people like us will bear the consequences of this. It has nothing to do with you, does it?"

Those words did calm Chen Mu down.

No matter how inhumane this was, there were people willing to bear responsibility for it.

Perhaps that was why Zheng Xian could not lift Thor’s Hammer. Just as he had said, he could do anything.

"Do as you wish."

Chen Mu sighed. Honestly, if that island had sunk during that era, he would have applauded too. But standing where he stood now, he absolutely could not be the one to do such a thing. That was the difference between Chen Mu and Zheng Xian. Chen Mu was still somewhat kindhearted and would still consider the possibility that there might truly be innocent people, such as children who were barely learning to speak.

"I have basically mastered the technology behind the Dimensional Gate. In the future, I will build one at the lunar base to connect the two worlds. After that, you can contact the authorities and arrange for dedicated diplomatic personnel to handle relations between the two worlds."

Since Zheng Xian had already made up his mind, Chen Mu naturally said nothing more. He simply cast the matter completely aside, pretending he knew nothing about it.

"That won’t be a problem."

Hearing Chen Mu’s words, Zheng Xian could not help but smile.

In this world, as long as China did not initiate a war, no country would dare provoke it anymore. But that also meant there was no way to avenge that blood-soaked hatred.

If there was a chance to help the predecessors of another world while also easing the hatred in his heart, Zheng Xian was willing to do some things.

"I’ll make the arrangements. Also, I have some suggestions regarding the China of that other world. Our predecessors would not accept handouts. If you help them unconditionally without asking for anything in return, they would absolutely refuse to accept it. If possible, aid between nations cannot be entirely unconditional. The best approach would actually be trade."

If it was aid with absolutely no expectation of return, not only would their predecessors be unable to accept it, but what would that even look like? Charity?

In any case, that approach was definitely not advisable between nations.

"As it happens, our country has many retired weapons that can be sold to them at low prices. That way, their strength will not become absurdly excessive compared to their contemporaries, and it will also reduce unnecessary trouble."

Although twenty-first-century weapons would still be a dimensionality-reducing blow to that era, they were much better than black-tech Kirin Armor.

"Those five hundred sets of armor can only be donated in your personal capacity."

"Mm, that was exactly what I had in mind." Chen Mu nodded. That had been his original plan.

"Mm, just as expected of you."

Hearing that, Zheng Xian could not help patting Chen Mu on the shoulder.

He continued, "Then I’ll go prepare the report materials. You should head over first and place those five hundred sets of armor in the soldiers’ hands. With that armor, many tragedies can be prevented."

"I’ll set up the portal. Leave the rest to you for negotiations."

As a simple researcher, Chen Mu did not want to rack his brains over such matters.

Professional matters were best left to professionals. He only needed to do his own job well.

"Can I go over there with you this time?"

Xu Jia asked expectantly.

"The old man at the orphanage was a soldier during the War of Resistance. He saw too many human tragedies and often told us stories from that time. All along, my greatest wish has been to avenge him. It was just that there had never been an opportunity."

"But now…"

Hadn’t the opportunity arrived?

"Alright."

Chen Mu gave Xu Jia a deep look, then walked toward his workshop. After returning yesterday, he had begun using the materials at hand and the technology he had acquired from Uatu to build a Dimensional Gate.

By now, he had already constructed a preliminary Dimensional Gate.

Of course, the current Dimensional Gate was merely a roughly built test machine. It was not very stable and was even only a one-way portal, but it was enough for Chen Mu to use this time.

"Then let’s go."

After nodding to Zheng Xian, he opened the Dimensional Gate and entered with Xu Jia.
