#154
Ravagers Alliance, Gamora
Hearing Wang Bert and Odin, Thor said with a troubled expression, "Can we change the condition? Like buying Lina ten truckloads of walnuts or something?"
"What do you think?"
Odin snorted and turned to leave. Wang Bert shrugged and said, "Thor, work hard as soon as possible. Otherwise, Lina really will use your hammer to crack walnuts."
"That absolutely cannot happen."
Thor gritted his teeth. "Isn’t it just shooting lightning? I’ll show you."
With that, Thor held his hands facing each other and desperately tried to release lightning with an expression like he was constipated. In the end, everyone saw only a few sparks.
"And you call yourself the God of Thunder?"
Everyone looked disgusted. Hill stood and said, "I’ll go back and report this to Fury. Don’t let your guard down. The Ravagers aren’t as weak as you think."
Tony said confidently, "Don’t worry. We’re definitely stronger than you think."
"I hope so."
Hill nodded, put on her cloak, and turned to leave. Tony glanced at Ivan and said, "Madman, want to see who kills more Ravagers when the time comes?"
"You think I’m afraid of you?"
Ivan sneered. The Magic Suit on his body instantly reverted into two bracelets. Tony was a little envious and had Jarvis open the armor, stepping out of it drenched in sweat.
Tony held out his hand and called, "Jarvis, inject the antidote."
"Yes, sir." The Iron Man Armor raised its hand and injected Tony with the antidote.
"Tony, constantly injecting yourself with the virus and antidote puts a huge burden on your body."
Wang Bert said, "I think you should just inject the Perfected Extremis Virus!"
Tony shook his head. "Until there’s an antidote, I won’t inject the Perfected Extremis Virus. I still want to have children with Pepper."
"Your choice."
Wang Bert shrugged and said, "Tony, I’ll be staying a few more days. The Convergence and the Bifrost still need to be discussed. You, Banner, and the others should return to Earth first and make preparations."
"Understood."
Tony nodded. "Don’t worry. We won’t let you down."
Wang Bert smiled. "I have great faith in you, aside from your habit of hiding in the study."
Everyone burst into laughter. Tony directly gave Wang Bert the middle finger. "I told you, that was because of the Extremis Virus."
Wang Bert said, "I understand. All right, dismissed. Anyone who wants to shop or buy souvenirs, hurry up. Put everything on my tab."
"Long live the Blood God!"
Everyone cheered. Tony asked suspiciously, "Where did you get the money? Like me, this is your first time in Asgard, right?"
"Bert, this is the money from selling Vibranium to the dwarves."
Ivan tossed Wang Bert a card and said, "The dwarves really like Vibranium. They hope you can sell them more."
"Tell them to trade magic items for it."
Wang Bert waved the card and said to Tony, "Vibranium is hard currency anywhere in the universe. In other words, I’m a rich man in the universe too. Do you understand, Mr. Pauper?"
Tony could not help giving Wang Bert the middle finger again. Then he snatched the card and went on a shopping spree in Asgard.
There was no reason not to spend a dead rich man’s money.
"Continuing to sell Vibranium isn’t ideal either. I don’t want to be some second-generation miner. I need to find a way to make money in the universe."
Wang Bert rubbed his chin. Whether on Earth or in the universe, he wanted to be absurdly wealthy.
Still wearing that constipated expression, Thor shouted, "Why are all of you leaving? I’m about to release lightning!"
No one paid attention to him and continued dispersing. Wang Bert shook his head, hoping the Dark Elves’ invasion would let Thor awaken ahead of time and become a true God of Thunder.
As for whether Thor would get killed without his hammer? No need to worry. Thor still had his divine power, so he would not die that easily. Besides, Wang Bert had marked him. If necessary, the hammer would immediately return to his hand.
"Thanos, what exactly are you planning?"
Wang Bert narrowed his eyes slightly. He did not care about the Ravagers or bounty hunters. The only one he cared about was the Behind-the-Scenes Manipulator, the Mad Titan Thanos!
The Ravagers Alliance was an extremely loose organization. Under normal circumstances, the space pirates acted separately. Only when something major happened would they gather together.
The alliance was controlled by five elders, each of whom possessed powerful forces. Replacing them was simple: defeat them.
That day, one of the elders, Charlie-27, summoned logistics officer Nick Fury and asked bluntly, "I heard you’re an Asgardian?"
Nick Fury nodded without blushing. "That’s right. I’m an Asgardian. Due to certain matters, I fled Asgard and became a Ravager."
Logistics officers were the Ravagers Alliance’s managers responsible for fencing stolen goods and purchasing supplies. There was more than one, and they were managed by the chief logistics officer.
In addition, Fury had a universal translator, so he could converse easily with Charlie. In the real world, it was not as if the Entire Universe spoke English.
The gigantic, exceptionally muscular Charlie continued, "There’s been a rumor lately that the Space Stone is on Earth. Is it true?"
Fury nodded again. "It’s true."
Charlie was somewhat surprised. "You’re that certain?"
"All of Asgard knows about it."
Fury said, "More than a year ago, in order to repair the Bifrost, prince Thor went to Earth to borrow the Space Stone."
"I see."
Charlie understood. He asked again, "Is Earth as weak as the rumors say?"
Fury shook his head. "Not that weak. Though they lack the ability to leave their planet, they have Super Heroes—that is, people with superpowers.
"Furthermore, Earth is protected by Asgard. Once Earth is invaded, Asgard will send troops to help. That is why Earth has remained safe all this time."
Charlie did not care about Super Heroes at all. He asked, "Will Asgard really send troops?"
Fury answered with certainty, "They definitely will, because Earth is a vassal state of Asgard."
"That is troublesome."
Charlie frowned. "How quickly can Asgard deploy troops?"
"Asgard has the Bifrost and can reach Earth instantly."
Fury said, "However, mobilizing troops takes a great deal of time. Asgard has been suppressing rebellions lately and does not have much spare manpower."
Charlie’s eyes lit up. "So if we can seize the Space Stone in a short time, we can avoid Asgard and escape easily?"
"Probably."
Fury nodded. "Provided Asgard isn’t prepared."
Charlie was confused. "What do you mean, isn’t prepared?"
Fury explained, "If Asgard knows Ravagers are coming, they’ll certainly mobilize troops in advance."
Charlie understood. "In other words, we must be the first Ravagers to reach Earth."
Fury nodded. "Yes."
"I understand."
Charlie had a clear picture now. He asked, "By the way, Fury, I heard you have a warrior called the Winter Soldier who is very capable. I want to borrow him. Any problem?"
Fury looked reluctant. "Elder, the Winter Soldier is my top general. We’re as close as brothers. I can’t be apart from him for even a second."
Charlie sneered disdainfully. "Stop pretending. If we obtain the Space Stone this time, you’ll act as the Middleman to fence it."
"Thank you, Elder."
Fury immediately agreed. "I guarantee I’ll sell the Space Stone for the best possible price."
"I hope so."
Charlie waved Fury away. Fury turned and took his leave. Watching his back, Charlie narrowed his eyes. He had always been wary of this new Ravager, who had risen rapidly and gained the trust of the grand elder Stakar.
The reason was simple: he could not see through him. That was also why he had demanded the Winter Soldier. He wanted to use the opportunity to probe Nick Fury’s true intentions.
"Earth, this is all I can do for you."
After leaving the hall, Nick Fury slowly let out a breath, his expression somewhat grave. Even if he had used a scheme to make the Ravagers depart in haste, with Charlie’s forces, they could still deploy at least four capital ships.
Could Earth withstand them?…
Inside a small spacecraft, a tough green-skinned woman with long hair urged a little raccoon, "Hurry. The Ravagers have already set out. We need to notify Earth as soon as possible and have their Super Heroes leave with the Space Stone."
"I think it’d be better if we stole the Space Stone ourselves. Then Earth would be completely safe."
As he piloted the ship, the little raccoon Rocket said, "I’m such a good person. Groot, don’t you think?"
The tall tree-like being beside him said deeply, "I am Groot!"
Rocket shouted unhappily, "How am I bad? I’m thinking about Earth."
The green-skinned woman, Gamora, shouted, "Shut up and focus on flying. Where’s the next jump point?"
Rocket’s eyes flickered. "Right ahead. But are you really not going to reconsider? The Space Stone is worth at least several billion. One job like this would set us up for life."
Gamora was deeply dissatisfied. "I said shut up. Your job is to get me to Earth in the shortest possible time. I paid you several times your usual fee."
"Don’t worry, I’m the best pilot. I’ll definitely get you to Earth. I just think stealing the Space Stone is a better deal."
Rocket shrugged. "As far as I know, Earth is just some backwater primitive planet. Stealing the gem would be no challenge at all."
Gamora glanced at Rocket. "Earth isn’t as weak as you think. The Chitauri tried to invade it, and their entire army was wiped out."
"The Chitauri are just trash."
Rocket looked disdainful. Gamora could not be bothered to say more. She sneered, "You can try it. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you when I don’t save you."
"I’ll try it, then. You think I, the great Rocket, am afraid of a bunch of primitives?"
Rocket snorted. Soon, the ship reached the next jump point, a space node. The universe was actually structured like a honeycomb, and space nodes allowed rapid travel to distant places.
Rocket flew the ship into the jump point. The surrounding space stretched and shifted. By the time the ship stopped, they had reached the edge of the Solar System.
"Space Stone, here I come."
Rocket accelerated at full speed and said smugly, "I wonder if those Earth primitives will be scared to death when they see me."
Gamora could not be bothered to answer. At that moment, a capital ship bearing a Blood Dragon emblem suddenly appeared out of thin air ahead of them. Immediately afterward, Rocket’s communication channel was breached, and a voice said, "This is the Earth Federation Guard. Unknown spacecraft, stop immediately, or we will destroy you."
"The Earth Federation Guard? Didn’t they say Earth was a primitive planet? Also, why did that capital ship suddenly appear? That makes no sense."
Rocket cried out in alarm. Gamora was equally surprised. "It looks like Earth has developed rapidly. Earth Federation Guard, hello. I came to notify you of something. You are in great danger right now."
The other side fell silent. After a moment, a voice said, "Come aboard the capital ship and speak."
"All right."
Gamora nodded. Rocket snorted. "I was hoping to let them witness my flying skills."
"Don’t cause trouble."
Gamora shook her head. Soon, the small spacecraft docked with the capital ship, where a group of Drone Armor waited for them.
Rocket jumped down from the ship and sneered at the Drone Armor. "These toys look pretty good."
Tony’s punchable voice came from one of the Drone Armor suits. "Which zoo did this little raccoon escape from?"
"Who are you calling a raccoon?"
Rocket flew into a rage and immediately drew his gun. The Drone Armor instantly raised their weapons and aimed them at Rocket and the other two. Groot spread his arms and assumed a fighting stance.
Korath walked over with an Asian man and said, "Stop, Tony Stark. That isn’t a raccoon. It’s a pitiful experiment."
"Korath the Pursuer!"
Gamora’s expression changed upon seeing Korath. She drew the Godslayer Dagger and shouted, "I knew the warship’s style was wrong. So it’s a Kree warship. You’re here to seize the Space Stone, aren’t you?"
"This is not a Kree warship. This is my master’s warship."
Korath said. Gamora was stunned. "You have a new master?"
"Yes, a supreme master."
Korath said with a fanatical expression, "My master wants to see you. Come with me. Experimental subject, throw down your weapon, or don’t blame us for being impolite."
Gamora was even more astonished. What kind of being could make Korath the Pursuer submit so completely?
"I’d like to see how impolite you can be."
Rocket said arrogantly. The Asian man behind Korath, Giyera, snorted and lightly raised his hand. Rocket’s weapon flew uncontrollably into his hand.
Rocket blinked, then said, "Seeing how sincere you are, I’ll give you that weapon."
"I am Groot."
Groot said.
Rocket snapped, "No swearing. And I’m not chickening out. This is called being polite, understand? Oh, right, Earthlings, remember to give me some local specialties as a return gift later."
Gamora shook her head speechlessly. She put away her dagger and said, "I’d like to see exactly who your master is."
"You’ll see him soon enough."
Korath smiled and led Gamora’s group toward the command room. Along the way, Rocket could not help asking, "How did you suddenly appear? That makes no sense."
"It’s a superpower that can conceal a capital ship and even reduce energy fluctuations."
Korath said.
Rocket’s eyes lit up. "Is this superpower for sale?"
"What do you think?"
Korath sneered. Gamora asked, "Are you planning to ambush someone?"
Korath did not answer. Soon, they arrived at the command room, where Wang Bert and the others were waiting.
Wang Bert looked at Gamora and asked, "Gamora, Thanos’s daughter, the most dangerous woman in the universe. What are you doing in the Solar System?"
"Thanos’s daughter?"
Everyone was shocked and immediately became more vigilant.
Natasha looked at Gamora with interest. The most dangerous woman in the universe—she liked that title.
"Adopted daughter. In fact, the person I hate most is Thanos."
Gamora looked at Wang Bert and asked, "Are you the Blood God?"
