Revive-Revive Fruit
After hearing that, the fervor in their eyes cooled slightly.
However, Yota’s ability might have sounded somewhat inferior to freely fusing Devil Fruits, but in reality, it was already outrageously overpowered.
With ordinary Zoan-type Devil Fruits, fusing two of them would make one hardly weaker than an Ancient Zoan. If four or five were fused, they would be no worse than a Mythical Zoan.
That was why there was a faint hint of desire in both Ulti’s and Page One’s eyes.
"Captain Yota, could I…" Ulti hesitantly tried to say something.
"I know what you mean. You want to hunt Devil Fruit users?" Yota said directly. "If you want to go, then go. When the time comes, just capture the Devil Fruit users and bring them back."
"But you can only capture pirates, or Marines who attack you. I think you understand my personality. If the people you bring back are ordinary civilians, don’t blame me for getting rough with you."
Of course, Yota was only saying that. In truth, most people who ate Devil Fruits were unwilling to remain ordinary. Very few were willing to live as common folk.
Back when Luffy was in East Blue, spotting even a single Devil Fruit user was as rare as seeing an exotic animal. Yet in the latter half of the Grand Line, practically every pirate with even a little name had a Devil Fruit. That alone made it clear.
In this messed-up world, anyone who ate a Devil Fruit basically became either a Marine or a pirate. Hardly anyone wanted to be an ordinary civilian.
"Alright! Don’t worry." Ulti smiled happily. Yota continued, "If it doesn’t suit your Devil Fruit very well, you can still bring them back. It’ll count as your contribution."
Ulti agreed without hesitation. It was only natural for the captain to take the largest share when choosing the spoils.
Yota then glanced at Kyros. "Do you want a Devil Fruit? If you do, you can look for some Devil Fruit users yourself."
Kyros shook his head directly. "There aren’t many Devil Fruits that work well with a swordsman. I’ll pass."
Pure swordsmen like him rarely used Devil Fruits. On one hand, they trusted their own swordsmanship more. On the other, there simply were not many Devil Fruit abilities that complemented swordsmen.
Kyros’s swordsmanship might not have been completely pure, but he clearly had his own love for the sword.
Of course, if Yota really brought out some powerful Devil Fruit, Kyros might not be able to resist the temptation. But asking him to actively hunt Devil Fruit users was something he felt he still could not do.
Yota nodded and said nothing more. As for Violet, her Devil Fruit was extremely special, so it would probably be difficult to find one that could work with it.
Besides, Violet was such a useful helper that Yota would not let her leave. If she left, who would serve as navigator?
At most, Yota would keep an eye out for a Devil Fruit suitable for her.
As for Gecko Moria, Perona, and the others, who were looking at him expectantly, Yota acted as though he could not see them. What a joke. He was no great philanthropist, so why should he help them? Just because he had taken their Devil Fruits?
There were plenty of people whose Devil Fruits he had taken. Who did they think they were?
Instead, his gaze turned to Brook. "Brook, do you want to try truly coming back to life?"
"Yohohohohoho! Does Captain Yota want to fuse a Human-Human Fruit into me? But if you directly extract my Revive-Revive Fruit, I’m afraid I’ll turn into a pile of bones… though I’m already a pile of bones." Brook scratched his afro as he spoke.
"No, not Devil Fruit fusion." Yota shook his head. "I mean using my modification ability to directly grow you a new body of flesh. Bringing the dead back to life and regenerating flesh from bare bones!"
Brook froze. "Can something like that really be done? If I really get a body back, I’ll definitely have a huge meal… Wait, if I come back to life, will my body become that of a hundred-year-old old man?"
"Ha, even a hundred-year-old old man would be better than hundred-year-old bones, right?" Charlotte Pudding could not help but quip. "You didn’t die after turning into a pile of bones. It’s not like you’ll suddenly die of old age after becoming human again."
"That makes sense!" Brook nodded. "Then please, Captain Yota, help restore my body! Whether it succeeds or not, I’ll be grateful to you."
Hearing that, Yota nodded. He reached out, and a surge of black mist swept Brook directly into Dark Space. Then Yota immediately activated the Munch-Munch Fruit’s ability. A moment later, a middle-aged man with an afro appeared before everyone.
He first touched himself, then patted his own body. Brook immediately burst into tears. "It’s real… I really came back to life. Sob… I’m alive again."
Yota, meanwhile, ignored the ecstatic, weeping Brook. His eyes were fixed excitedly on the skeletal Revive-Revive Fruit in his hand.
The Revive-Revive Fruit itself was not particularly useful to Yota, but one of its special abilities had always remained on his mind: it could communicate with the underworld.
After all, Brook’s soul had drifted into the underworld after his death before it returned to find his body. That was completely different from the Eight-Headed Serpent Fruit, which resurrected its user directly through the body after death!
And once he could communicate with the underworld, many ninjutsu that could be called forbidden techniques might become usable.
For example, the Impure World Reincarnation, Dead Demon Consuming Seal, and Rinne Rebirth Technique were clearly all tied to the structure of the Shinobi World itself. In another world, they were probably difficult to use.
Yota had not used the latter two techniques, but he had tried the Impure World Reincarnation after arriving in the Pirate World. The result went without saying—it had done absolutely nothing.
But now that he possessed the Revive-Revive Fruit, Yota could naturally try again. If it succeeded, he would no longer need to fear the World Government’s numbers.
After all, the World Government had ruled over the entire sea for eight hundred years. Put another way, it had accumulated the hatred of the entire sea for eight hundred years. Every pirate was an enemy of the World Government.
Even those who were not pirates, such as people from non-member nations like the Dragon-Slaying Swordsman Ryuma, were certainly hostile to the World Government as well.
As long as he could use the Impure World Reincarnation, even if he did not control those he resurrected, they would still be his natural allies.
