Robbers

"Logan, Mr. Wang, he’s a mutant too. We can’t torture him."

Storm shouted. The Mutant Brotherhood and the Mutant Academy had an understanding: neither side would go too far. If the Academy broke that understanding, then if the X-Men fell into the Brotherhood’s hands in the future, their fate would be dreadful.

Besides, they were all mutants. They could not slaughter one another.

"Logan is my man. We don’t belong to the Academy, so we won’t be breaking the understanding between you and the Brotherhood."

Wang Bert said. Honestly, the understanding between the Mutant Brotherhood and the Mutant Academy seemed utterly ridiculous to him. You’re carrying the fate of an entire race on your backs. Could you stop being so warm and fuzzy about it, like you’re inviting each other over for dinner? "Mr. Wang, please hand Azazel over to us. The Professor will make him tell us everything."

Storm said, "The situation for mutants is good right now. It wouldn’t be wise to start a war with the Brotherhood."

"That’s true."

Wang Bert rubbed his chin. He was not afraid of the Mutant Brotherhood, but before the High Summit, he did not want to stir up any major trouble. Besides, Psylocke’s career was at a critical stage, and it was not the time to invite complications.

Wang Bert nodded. "Fine. He’s yours. Give me a copy of his testimony afterward. Logan, are you heading back to New York? I’ll take you with me."

Azazel let out a sigh of relief. It seemed his life had been spared. Bert Wang, this isn’t over between us. I’ll make you understand who the true king of Teleportation is.

Then, Azazel secretly pressed a spot at his waist. There was a special device there. Once activated, Magneto would receive the message that he had been captured.

When that happened, Magneto would definitely find a way to rescue him.

"Lucky bastard."

Wolverine snorted unhappily. "I’ll drive back myself. Cyclops’s bike is a real thrill."

Jean asked in astonishment, "You took Scott’s motorcycle out? If he finds out, he’ll definitely challenge you to a duel. That’s his baby."

"It wouldn’t be the first time he’s wanted to duel me."

Wolverine looked at Jean with fiery eyes. Jean turned her head shyly, but she had no intention of scolding Wolverine.

Jean did not actually dislike Wolverine’s pursuit. She even enjoyed it a little. She liked that kind of passion.

Of course, that did not mean Jean would betray Cyclops. The only person she wanted to marry was still that honest man, Cyclops.

What exactly did honest men ever do wrong?

Wang Bert silently complained, then said to Storm, "Azazel won’t be able to teleport for twenty-four hours. Make good use of the time. Also, the sooner I get that testimony, the better."

"Alright."

Storm nodded. Remembering something, she said, "Mr. Wang, if you have time, you could visit the Academy. The Professor has always wanted to talk with you more."

"Maybe when I have time. I’ve been a little busy lately."

Wang Bert waved his hand and vanished instantly. Storm and Jean were both greatly surprised. Bert Wang could teleport too? No wonder he had managed to catch Azazel.

"Jean, want to go for a ride?"

Wolverine called out to Jean. "I know a restaurant in New York that’s pretty good. We can try it out. I just got paid today."

"Logan, riding Scott’s motorcycle while asking out Scott’s girlfriend—don’t you think that’s a bit too much?"

Storm could not stand it anymore. "Be careful you don’t get struck by lightning."

"Lightning can’t kill me. I’ll bring you girls gifts."

Wolverine shrugged, mounted the motorcycle, and quickly disappeared from the two women’s sight.

Storm asked Jean, "Why don’t you make things clear to Logan? Then you wouldn’t have to be so bothered by him."

"I have, but he just won’t listen."

Jean sighed. She had indeed said something, but she had not been firm about it. She had even given him mixed signals. Otherwise, Wolverine would not have persisted so stubbornly. He might not have been a good man, but he never pestered women who clearly rejected him.

"That guy is such a pain. Forget it. Let’s take Azazel back. Come to think of it, this is the first time we’ve ever captured him."

Storm said, "Azazel, welcome to the Mutant Academy."

"No need to be so polite. Prepare me a new suit. I don’t wear anything that costs less than a hundred thousand dollars. And I want coffee grown in Colombia."

Azazel climbed to his feet, straightened his clothes, and spoke proudly. He came from the Hellfire Club, where the mutants were all top-tier elites.

Storm and Jean both snorted in displeasure. You’re a prisoner. What are you putting on airs for? Neither of us has ever worn a hundred-thousand-dollar outfit, okay?

Storm sneered. "Mr. Azazel, or should I say Mr. Pighead, maybe look in a mirror before you start showing off. You look pretty ridiculous right now."

Jean added, "Your skin color matches your current look perfectly."

"Pighead?"

Azazel froze, then remembered something and touched his swollen face. The pain made him grit his teeth. "Bert Wang, I will never let you get away with this."

Without further nonsense, Storm and Jean took Azazel back to the Academy. The Professor was extremely surprised. They had actually captured Azazel? After learning what had happened, the Professor sighed. "It seems our young friend is even stronger than we imagined. Azazel, how many years has it been since we last met?"

"A long time. So long that I thought you were dead."

Azazel replied, "Charles, you can’t hold me. I will escape."

"Hank will find a way to hold you."

The Professor smiled and asked, "Azazel, did you come to the Mutant Academy because of Rogue?"

"You can see for yourself. I allow you to read my memories."

"Then I won’t stand on ceremony."

The Professor truly did not stand on ceremony. He used his Mind Power to peer into Azazel’s memories, only to discover in surprise that Azazel’s memories were completely blank.

Azazel smiled smugly. "Professor, sorry, but only I can access my memories."

The Professor was somewhat stunned. "You shouldn’t have any mental abilities, should you? Did the White Queen tamper with you?"

Azazel smiled disdainfully. No one knew that he had already lived for thousands of years. His true strength far surpassed that of other mutants. Unfortunately, for certain reasons, he now only had the ability to teleport.

Otherwise, the one getting beaten today would definitely have been that bastard Bert Wang.

It was worth mentioning that although the Professor could not read Azazel’s memories, he could temporarily control him—only his actions, not make him reveal everything.

The Professor asked, "Are you really unwilling to say anything?"

Azazel hesitated, then said, "I want to see Nightcrawler. Don’t deny it. I know he’s here. I can sense him."

"What is your relationship with him?"

The Professor asked. He had long suspected that Nightcrawler and Azazel were related. After all, they had the same demonic appearance and the same teleportation ability.

"I’m his father."

Azazel admitted. "Surely the esteemed Professor X won’t stop a father and son from meeting?"

"Although I can’t read your memories, I can sense that you bear Kurt great malice."

The Professor said, "I can’t let you meet. Jean, take him to the laboratory and lock him up. I’ll have Hank come set up a cell."

Jean nodded. "Alright."

Azazel shouted, "Charles, that’s my child! You can’t stop me. I will take him away."

"Unless he is willing, no one can take my child away from here."

The Professor said. In his heart, all those students were his children.

"We’ll see."

Azazel snorted. Magneto would definitely find a way to get him out, because Magneto could not do without his abilities. The only problem was that Raven might infiltrate the Academy. Still, getting free came first.

At the Mutant Brotherhood New York Branch, Magneto, whose injuries had yet to fully heal, received Azazel’s plea for help. His expression turned extremely grim. It was truly a troubled time.

"Psylocke, Rogue, Azazel."

Magneto sighed, called Mystique over, and got straight to the point. "Azazel has been captured by the Professor."

"Charles actually managed to capture that guy?"

Mystique was greatly surprised. Though she hated Azazel to the bone, his Teleportation ability was practically unmatched in the world.

"I don’t know what happened either. Go investigate for me. If possible, bring Azazel back."

Magneto said, "Raven, I know you hate Azazel, but we can’t do without his ability."

Mystique snorted unhappily and asked, "Fine. Should I bring Rogue back while I’m at it?"

"Bring her back. Once I solve the problem with the device, I’ll make new arrangements for the plan."

Magneto said with a headache. Besides recuperating from his injuries, he had spent all this time studying that device. Unfortunately, even now, he could not find what was wrong with it.

Mystique nodded. "Alright. I’ll bring her and Azazel back together."

Remembering something, Magneto asked, "By the way, why did you suddenly return from Bert Wang’s place? And why did you lock yourself in your room for days? Did that brat do something he shouldn’t have to you?"

"No. I was just a little shaken up. It was the first time in my life I’d been hit by a meteorite."

Magneto stared. "That meteorite was aimed at you?"

"Yes, it was aimed at me. It should be related to Bert Wang, but I don’t know the exact details. In any case, there’s something very strange about that man."

Mystique shook her head. "I don’t want to see him again anytime soon."

"Then I’ll send someone else to make contact with him."

Magneto said, "That brat is a lot like I was back then. He has ideals and drive. Unfortunately, he’s too naive. He thinks making a big star will make humans accept mutants, without realizing that the human leadership has always been trying to wipe mutants out."

Mystique could not help remembering the days when humans had imprisoned and tortured her in a laboratory. She said hatefully, "All humans deserve to die. How do you plan to deal with that so-called big star?"

"Dealing with her will be easy. Once Azazel’s matter is settled, disguise yourself as Psylocke and kill someone. Then plenty of people will help us deal with her."

Magneto said, "When Bert Wang and Psylocke hit rock bottom, I’ll go find them and invite them to join the Brotherhood."

"Good plan. This will make them see humanity’s true face."

Mystique nodded. "I’ll get ready and head to the Mutant Academy. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen Charles in years."

The Professor and Mystique had grown up together, and he was practically Mystique’s older brother. Later, Mystique had been "lured away" by Magneto, and the two had gone their separate ways.

"Charles is just as naive as Bert Wang. If he had been willing to help me, we would have wiped out humanity long ago."

Magneto snorted. "Go. Be careful."

"Don’t worry. Charles can’t catch me."

Mystique smiled, rose to her feet, and left. Magneto shook his head, picked up the device blueprints, and began studying them again. He refused to believe he could not figure out this damned device.

Magneto did not know that he was destined to never figure it out, because there was nothing wrong with the device in the first place.

The weather was bright and beautiful today. The robbers thought it was a nice day, so they decided to go rob a bank and take care of lunch while they were at it.

Inside a bank somewhere in Manhattan, a bank employee crouching on the floor quietly pressed the alarm beneath the desk, notifying the police that the bank was being robbed.

The robber leader, a hulking man in a mask, seemed to sense something. He strode over and lifted the bank employee into the air with one hand. Then, with a ferocious expression, he said, "Why do people always love courting death? The money belongs to the bank, but the life is yours."

"I didn’t, I didn’t…"

The bank employee desperately tried to explain, but the robber leader had no patience for his rambling. With a powerful throw, he slammed the employee into the reinforced glass with a bang, and the man’s head burst like a watermelon.

"Ah!" The crouching hostages were both terrified and shocked. This guy was so strong—could he be a mutant?

"This feeling is amazing."

The robber leader grinned smugly and said to the robbers, "What are you standing around for? Keep loading the money."

One robber could not help asking, "Boss, they called the police. Aren’t we running?"

"Running for what? How much money have we loaded so far?"

The robber leader said impatiently, "Hurry up and load it. This time, I’m making a fortune. As for the cops, don’t worry about them. I’ll handle them."

"Yes, Boss."

Seeing their boss say that, the five robbers stopped wasting time and quickly stuffed the vault’s cash into the bags they had brought.

The police arrived faster than expected. Before long, accompanied by the sound of sirens, the bank was surrounded layer upon layer by police officers.

Road Bully shouted at the panicked robbers, "Don’t be afraid. I’ll go out and deal with them. After today, the name Road Bully will be as famous as Psylocke’s.

"Haha! Since there are Super Heroes, how can there not be supervillains? I, Road Bully, will be the first supervillain!"

One robber could not help saying, "Isn’t Magneto the first supervillain? Besides, lots of mutants are wanted. Boss, you probably can’t even make the top ten."

The bank suddenly fell silent. Everyone looked speechlessly at the robber. How had this guy lived this long?

Road Bully’s face darkened. If they were not in the middle of a robbery, he would absolutely beat up this brainless underling. He cursed, "Since you’re so good at talking, want me to get you a microphone so you can talk all you want? And I’m the first human supervillain. Magneto and the others are mutants. They’re not in the same category as me."

The robber smiled awkwardly, not daring to say anything else as he turned around and continued loading money.

"You two, come outside with me."

Road Bully pointed at two hostages and shouted. Though the two hostages were unwilling, under Road Bully’s coercion, they could only obediently hold their heads and walk out of the bank.
