Silver Surfer

"Galactus really knows how to pick his timing."

Wong could not help saying it. Wang Bert said, "It is Death who knows how to pick the timing. Enough talk, I’ll leave first. Don’t worry. If anything happens, I’ll come right back."

With that, Wang Bert vanished instantly. Wong sighed and rang the alarm bell, putting Kamar-Taj on emergency alert.

Galactus had not yet entered the Milky Way Galaxy. In fact, he did not move very fast, because he had to devour planets as he traveled.

Galactus’s appetite was famously enormous.

Four heralds were always by Galactus’s side, searching for suitable planets for him to devour. They were Stardust, Firelord, Tyrant, and the Silver Surfer, who had appeared in "Fantastic Four 2."

When Wang Bert found Galactus, only the Silver Surfer was by his side. The Surfer’s entire body was silver, his muscles bulging. He was somewhat surprised to see Wang Bert, then respectfully bowed. "Blood God."

Ever since the Living Tribunal had ruled that Wang Bert was a Creator God, his name had become known among the upper echelons of the universe. His experiences had been examined over and over again. After reading his files, those higher-ups had only one thought—this guy’s cheats were way too ridiculous. "No need to be so polite."

Wang Bert flew before Galactus and looked up at the enormous Purple Giant. "Galactus, are you hungry?"

He was not offering Galactus a meal. When Galactus was hungry, he had no reason, so Wang Bert had to make sure first. He did not want to be grabbed and treated as food halfway through their conversation.

Galactus looked at Wang Bert and answered irritably, "I ate yesterday."

"That’s good."

Wang Bert said, "Can you stay away from Earth? I can find you ten planets with denser energy than Earth."

Galactus shook his head. "No. I must go to Earth."

"Why? Whatever benefit Death promised you, I can give you double."

"Death gave me no benefit. I must go to Earth."

"You absolutely have to go?"

"I absolutely have to go."

"Then there’s nothing more to say."

Wang Bert rolled his neck. The Silver Surfer hurriedly went on guard beside him. Though he had faith in Galactus, the Blood God was also a Creator God.

"Why are you so tense? I’m just rolling my neck. Talking with my head tilted up is a little tiring."

Wang Bert glanced at the Silver Surfer, landed on Galactus’s ship, and said, "You don’t mind if I sit here for a while, do you?"

"As long as you do not interfere with my feeding, I do not mind."

"Good."

Wang Bert conjured a chair and sat down, doing nothing as he quietly pondered.

The Silver Surfer was somewhat surprised. He jumped down from his Silver Skateboard and asked curiously, "Blood God, what are you planning to do? Lord Galactus will not change his mind."

"I know, so I will definitely do something. But there’s no rush. It will still take one or two months to reach Earth."

Wang Bert smiled. At present, he was not confident he could defeat Galactus, so he had to wait until the Dragon Soul Clone returned.

The Silver Surfer fell silent for a moment, then said, "Blood God, you should give up on Earth. No one can stop Lord Galactus."

Wang Bert glanced at him and asked, "If you risked your life, could you achieve mutual destruction with Galactus?"

The Silver Surfer laughed mutely. "How could that be possible? Lord Galactus granted me my power. If I risked my life, the only result would be Lord Galactus devouring me."

"As expected."

Wang Bert shook his head. "Fantastic Four 2" was completely unreliable. He asked again, "You have emotions?"

At first, the Silver Surfer had no emotions—his home planet had been about to be devoured by Galactus, and to protect it, he had chosen to become Galactus’s servant.

Afterward, Galactus granted the Silver Surfer energy. Once he absorbed it, his memories, sense of good and evil, conscience, morality, and everything else vanished. He became a tool through and through.

The Silver Surfer without memories had even voluntarily recommended his own home planet for Galactus to devour. Yet Galactus had not devoured it. He had said, "I made an agreement with someone worthy of respect. I will not eat that one."

However, in the movie, the Silver Surfer had memories and emotions. Otherwise, he would not have fallen in love with Sue, much less risked his life against Galactus for her.

"I did not before, but I do now."

The Silver Surfer sighed. "To be honest, having emotions is not necessarily a good thing."

"Without emotions, you are merely a puppet. Only with emotions are you a true intelligent life-form. Emotions are the most important thing to an intelligent life-form."

Wang Bert smiled and flicked out a light screen. "What do you think of this beauty?"

The image on the light screen was Sue—she was currently breaking up with Dr. Richards, so she probably would not mind meeting a muscular man.

The Silver Surfer stared, his eyes going slightly blank. Seeing Wang Bert’s teasing gaze, he smiled awkwardly. "Blood God, what do you mean by this? I will not betray Lord Galactus.

"Even if I did betray Lord Galactus, I would not be able to help you."

He actually fell for her?

Wang Bert secretly complained. He put away the light screen and smiled. "Nothing. I just think the two of you are a good match."

"A good match?"

The Silver Surfer looked baffled. He shook his head and began chatting idly with Wang Bert, but Sue’s image lingered in his mind.

It was not love at first sight. Sue resembled his former wife, stirring up his memories.

This is merely an idle move, better than nothing. The real key is still power—power enough to defeat Galactus.

Wang Bert secretly shook his head and contacted the Dragon Soul Clone, explaining the situation.

In the Zombie Universe, the Dragon Soul Clone was fishing for zombies with Wanda. No, not just zombies—Super Hero zombies, such as Tony Stark and Steve Rogers.

"I’m really looking forward to Tony and the others’ expressions when they see this recording."

Watching the zombies bouncing around below, Wang Bert could not help laughing. Wanda punched him and said, "You’re awful. Sooner or later, you’ll end up like Stark, getting beaten up by everyone."

"Who would dare? Aren’t they afraid of a Creator God’s wrath?"

Wang Bert said arrogantly. Just then, he received a message from his main body and could not help sighing. "As expected, he’s here."

Wanda froze, then asked nervously, "Who’s here? Galactus?"

"Yes. Galactus from the Main Universe is heading toward Earth. He is expected to arrive in a little over a month."

Wang Bert nodded. "In other words, I have to gain the power to defeat Galactus within a month."

Wanda shook her head. "That’s impossible. Right now, you can only last two hours against Galactus."

"Even if it’s impossible, I have to make it possible. If all else fails, I’ll use the Infinity Stones to forcibly melt Galactus down."

Wang Bert said, "Wanda, I can’t stay with you for the next month. I’m going into outer space to fight Galactus to the death."

"You’ll die that way."

"Then I’ll die. I’ll revive anyway."

Wang Bert said indifferently. With the concepts he possessed, even Galactus could not kill him—as long as there was a single drop of blood left in the universe, the Blood Concept meant he would not die.

"I’ll gather all the Infinity Stones as soon as possible and come help you."

Wang Bert kissed Wanda on the cheek. "All right. Let’s work hard together and become a world-saving couple."

"Who agreed to marry you?"

Wanda snorted shyly. Wang Bert laughed. "If you don’t marry me, who will you marry? You’ll never escape my clutches in this life."

"Shameless."

Wanda rolled her eyes at Wang Bert, though she was secretly delighted. Wang Bert smiled, opened a portal, and walked toward the Purple Giant on the other side.

The Purple Giant flew into a rage upon seeing Wang Bert. He immediately swung his arm, smashing down at him with overwhelming force.

I have to marry Bert. Whoever dares stop me, I’ll destroy them.

Determination flashed through Wanda’s eyes as she headed into outer space to search for the remaining Infinity Stones.

In Chinatown, San Francisco, Eddie Brock, Venom’s gold-medal undercover agent, was lazily lying on his rooftop sunbathing. He picked up a beer from the ice bucket beside him and took a sip, feeling that life was wonderful.

I, Eddie Brock, am finally no longer a loser.

Eddie thought happily. Venom stuck its head out from his neck and sneered. "No, you’re still a loser. To buy this house, you not only spent all the salary the Blood God gave you, you also borrowed hundreds of thousands of dollars from the bank. In other words, your assets are negative now."

"Most Americans have negative assets. What does it matter?"

Eddie drank his beer and said, "A detached villa in an upscale neighborhood, a Ferrari sports car, designer clothes, a designer watch, and a job as a reporter. Who dares say I’m a loser?"

Venom sneered. "If you weren’t a loser, why did Wei Ying refuse to date you? She even threw away the flowers you bought."

"Isn’t that because of you? Last time I went to a restaurant with Wei Ying, you actually took control of me and made me swallow a fish from the aquarium alive. Who the hell would want to date someone like that?"

Eddie cursed loudly. Venom burst out laughing. "That was my masterpiece. Too bad no one at that restaurant took photos with their phones. Otherwise, you definitely would have made the headlines, and everyone would know you’re a loser."

"Venom, what exactly do you want?"

Eddie roared.

"Of course, to torment you. I want to turn you into a loser, make sure you have no women, and make you lose face everywhere."

Venom shouted, "You actually dared betray me? Do you know I once thought we were each other’s one and only?"

"That’s disgusting, just like you."

Eddie looked revolted. "I hope that Knull contacts you soon, so I can get rid of you for good."

"You can’t get rid of me, Eddie. You’ve already taken my shape."

Venom was sneering when it suddenly jolted, then cried in a trembling voice, "Knull is contacting me."

Eddie froze and hurriedly asked, "Really?"

"Of course it’s real, Eddie. You really are a jinx."

Venom cursed, then excitedly called out into the void, "My God, you have finally contacted me. I have waited for so, so long."

Eddie looked displeased. "This guy is even an acting type?"

"Why is Riot dead while you are alive?"

Knull asked coldly. He had not asked before because he simply did not care about a mere Venom. But now that he needed Venom to do something, he naturally had to get a clear answer.

"My God, it happened like this. Riot had an associate, some doctor. A reporter discovered his base, and by a series of coincidences, I merged with that reporter."

Venom explained, "Later, the reporter escaped the laboratory with me. His body had certain special traits, and it took great effort for me to control him. But just as I finished gaining control, Riot and the others were wiped out by the Blood God.

"With no other choice, I could only secretly lurk on Earth as a reporter, waiting for your summons."

"Cowardly and afraid of death."

Knull snorted. "From now on, follow my orders. If this succeeds, I will elevate you to godhood."

Venom was ecstatic. "Elevate me to godhood? My God, no matter what you ask of me, I will help you accomplish it."

"Very good. Find a way to get into space. I have something to give you."

Knull said this because he could send things directly to Earth, but the Blood God would discover it. Therefore, Venom had to come out and collect it.

"No problem. I’ll have the unlucky reporter I possess interview at a Resource Star. Then I can receive your item."

"Very good, Venom. Do not disappoint me. You cannot afford the price."

Knull ended the contact in satisfaction. Venom sighed in relief, its whole head drooping weakly onto Eddie’s shoulder. Being an undercover agent was truly thrilling.

"Hey, you aren’t planning to betray the Blood God, are you?"

Eddie asked warily. "I’m warning you, even if I could become a god, I would never betray Earth."

"As if I would betray him. I, Venom, am an Earth life-form certified by the Blood God."

Venom snorted. "Knull’s offer is indeed tempting. Becoming a god is the dream of most life-forms. But he is bound to lose. How could I betray the Blood God over a promise that can never be fulfilled?"

Eddie asked in surprise, "You have that much confidence in the Blood God?"

"Has the Blood God ever lost since he made his debut?"

Venom asked.

"No." Eddie thought about it, then shook his head.

"Knull has lost. Ever since I was born, he has been sealed inside a planet. Under those circumstances, is there even a choice?"

Venom sneered. "Besides, the Blood God has always been generous. He will definitely reward me well in the future—for example, by making sure I never separate from you."

Eddie looked utterly disgusted. "Damn it, you actually think staying with me forever is more important than becoming a god?"

"Of course it is. I want you to be a loser for your entire life, living in misery."

Venom gritted its teeth. It had recently been learning to use computers and phones. Once it mastered them, Eddie would not get to keep a single cent.

He had dared betray it. Venom was going to cling to Eddie for the rest of his life.

"What sins did I commit?"

Eddie sighed and used the special S.W.O.R.D. watch to contact Wei Ying. Wei Ying immediately reported the matter to S.W.O.R.D., which did not dare delay and promptly reported it to Wang Bert.

At the Frontlines of the Heavenfall Star System, inside the Celestial Head, Bald Wang Bert gathered the Super Heroes and told them about Venom and Knull.

"Knull wants to attack Earth?"

Everyone was shocked. Tony asked, "Bert, with you on Earth, how would Knull dare come?"

"My main body is currently chatting with Galactus."

Wang Bert explained Galactus’s situation. Everyone’s teeth ached. Every troublesome matter had come together at once.

"You don’t need to worry about Galactus, because worrying will not help."

Wang Bert said, "I will handle it. I will never let Galactus enter the Solar System."

Tony gave Wang Bert the middle finger. "Ever since you became a Creator God, you’ve gotten more and more arrogant."

Wang Bert spread his hands. "Haven’t I always been this arrogant?"

Everyone booed. Steve smiled and said, "We’ll leave Galactus to you, Bert. Let’s discuss how to deal with Knull."
