Star-Lord Appears
Tony and Banner began their work.
Meanwhile, Harvey spent his days leisurely, waiting for Star-Lord to arrive and deliver the Power Stone.
In the blink of an eye, more than two months passed.
On Blue Star.
Steve had originally been living with Carter Peggy on their Private Island, the two of them enjoying life together every day.
At the same time, they trained and evolved to strengthen themselves. At night, they would also share tender moments, living peacefully and comfortably.
But on a day in April 2014, Steve received a call.
"Steve Rogers, I need your help."
"There’s a traitor in S.H.I.E.L.D. You have to help me, or Blue Star will be in danger."
Nick Fury’s weak voice came through.
"Where are you?"
Hearing the faintness in Nick Fury’s voice and what he had mentioned, Steve’s expression changed slightly as he asked.
S.H.I.E.L.D. held most of America’s secrets, as well as authorization over the use of many dangerous weapons.
If there really was a traitor within S.H.I.E.L.D., then Blue Star would indeed face danger.
However, this danger would not be brought by aliens, but caused by humanity’s own internal conflicts.
"I’m heading to your home in New York. Get here quickly… otherwise, I might die here."
Upon hearing Steve’s words, Nick Fury spoke.
He then hung up directly and struggled to regulate his breathing.
"Be careful. If there’s a traitor in S.H.I.E.L.D., it could be remnants of Hydra."
Peggy had also heard Nick Fury’s plea for help. Under ordinary circumstances, Nick Fury would not ask Steve to intervene.
"Don’t worry. I’ll be back soon."
Steve kissed Peggy on the forehead, then turned and ran out.
He boarded a helicopter and rushed toward New York at top speed.
Meanwhile, on Xandar that same day.
Sonia also received a communication from Dam.
"Miss Sonia, I received the information you asked me to watch for regarding Star-Lord."
Not long ago, Miss Sonia had told him to keep an eye out for someone named Star-Lord.
Dam had no idea why Miss Sonia was interested in such an unknown nobody, but he notified her immediately upon receiving the news.
"Tell me about his situation in detail."
Upon hearing Star-Lord’s name, Sonia’s gaze flickered as she asked.
"Star-Lord’s real name is Peter Jason Quill. He comes from Blue Star and was raised by a group of Interstellar Raiders led by Yondu."
"Three other beings suspected to be his accomplices were captured with him."
"One is Gamora, the adopted daughter of Mad Titan Thanos, also known as Thanos."
"One is an 89P13 test subject who calls himself Rocket and looks like a raccoon."
"And there is also a tree person named Groot."
"They are currently being transported to Kyln High Security Prison."
Dam explained the information he had received.
"Alright, I understand. Thank you, Mr. Dam."
Hearing that Star-Lord was actually in prison, Sonia’s thoughts stirred. However, she said nothing and simply thanked him with a smile.
"Miss Sonia, is there something special about him that has drawn your attention?"
"In my view, someone like him is just an insignificant nobody."
Dam asked curiously upon hearing Sonia’s words.
The name Star-Lord was merely something Peter Jason Quill called himself. His reputation was negligible, nowhere near as great as that of his leader, Yondu.
"It’s nothing. You needn’t concern yourself with it. Thank you for the intelligence, Mr. Dam."
Sonia did not explain and replied with a smile.
"Alright. If you need any help, feel free to contact us."
Seeing that Miss Sonia was unwilling to say more, Dam did not press further. He nodded, said his piece, and proactively ended the communication.
After ending the communication, Sonia went to the hall and looked at Mr. Kassadin, who was playing games to pass the time.
"Has Star-Lord appeared?"
Hearing the footsteps behind him, Harvey knew Sonia had arrived and spoke.
"Yes, but he is currently being sent to prison."
"Mr. Kassadin, why did you specifically instruct me to notify you once he appeared?"
Hearing Mr. Kassadin’s words, Sonia nodded in confirmation and voiced the question in her heart.
"I know you have a lot of questions."
"But don’t underestimate him. Though he currently appears to be merely a little stronger than an ordinary person and has no real reputation."
"He possesses the body of a demigod. If he can obtain his father’s inheritance."
"He will be able to leap directly into the ranks just below the universe’s top powerhouses."
"Of course, those are secondary. Most importantly, his appearance means that the changes on Xandar are about to arrive."
Hearing Sonia’s question, Harvey stopped what he was doing, picked up the drink before him, turned around, took a sip, and spoke slowly.
"You mean he may become a top powerhouse and then help the Kree Empire bring disaster upon Xandar?"
After hearing Mr. Kassadin’s words, Sonia considered the key point he had mentioned and asked.
Someone with strength close to that of a top powerhouse, if he joined forces with the Kree Empire, could indeed become the key to breaking the balance.
"That isn’t an unreasonable way to think of it. He does possess such potential and power."
"But he is not the one who intends to harm Xandar."
"Rather, his appearance has brought with it a treasure that will become the source of Xandar’s upheaval."
"You will soon see exactly what kind of treasure it is, because I will retrieve it myself."
"Remember to inform the other Void Cult members not to act rashly."
Hearing Sonia’s speculation, Harvey spoke.
Sonia was somewhat surprised to hear that the treasure Star-Lord had brought was valuable enough to move even Mr. Kassadin and make him intend to retrieve it personally.
"Alright, I’ll pass along the message immediately."
However, Sonia nodded after hearing these instructions.
Before long, a message appeared in the Void Cult’s group chat.
"By the will of Great God of the Void Kassadin, Xandar will undergo some changes soon."
"Void Cult members should not leave the island without authorization in the near future, lest accidents occur."
The message Sonia sent had been in the group chat for only a few seconds.
Yet it had already sent the entire group chat into an uproar.
Miss Sonia rarely invoked the name of Great God of the Void Kassadin, but whenever she did, it meant the matter was certainly not minor.
Moreover, the fact that Xandar would face upheaval could mean anything from a minor issue to a major crisis.
But since they had specifically been told to be careful, it meant Xandar would encounter serious trouble in the near future.
When Dam saw the message in the group chat, his expression changed slightly.
Right after Miss Sonia had asked about Star-Lord, she suddenly announced this message. Did this indicate that the matter was related to Star-Lord’s appearance?
However, it was common knowledge that information concerning the Void Cult could not be leaked, since this matter was meant to notify Void Cult members.
Whether he should inform the other members of the Nova Corps in advance and have them prepare defenses left Dam deeply conflicted.
The fourth update, two thousand words delivered.
