Successive Departures from the Island

Harvey’s thoughts were not all that complicated.

Sarah had been on the island for several months and had always worked diligently.

She also seemed to get along well with all the members on the island, so he approved her. Sarah could continue serving as a recorder from now on.

As for Lalatina’s application, it had arrived over two months ago.

He approved it today mainly because he could sense Lalatina’s yearning for Void Island.

Most importantly, Harvey felt that there were simply too few women on Void Island.

He did not know why. The Void Cult’s reputation had clearly spread far and wide by now.

There were many men who came seeking power, but pitifully few women.

Including Sonia, Lacey, Claudia, Sarah, and Lalatina now—

Along with Pepper and Peggy on Blue Star, there were only seven female members among the Void Cult’s more than five hundred members.

Therefore, Harvey naturally considered appropriately increasing the number of women.

Not only would this make some of the male members on the island restrain themselves a little, but having more women would also allow them to explore more paths of evolution.

A lively feast began on Void Island.

Many members came to offer their blessings to Recorder Sarah and Lalatina.

This enthusiasm left both Sarah and Lalatina somewhat overwhelmed by the kindness.

Previously, they had already felt that the atmosphere on the island was very welcoming toward ordinary people like them.

But after formally joining the Void Cult, they discovered that the friendliness they had received before had still been somewhat reserved.

Now, one after another, people wanted to tell them all about the Void.

They even explained roughly how much power they could gain after evolving a certain number of times, and how they could make a fortune through targeted training afterward.

Sarah politely responded and thanked them for teaching her, but she would not be changing jobs.

Being a recorder was wonderful. She was supposed to work twelve hours a day, but in reality, she could rest whenever she wanted.

Moreover, she knew that she had to cherish the opportunity Sonia-senpai had given her.

In ordinary terms, she now had an official position. Working for the Void Cult was practically like having a government job.

As long as she did not make any mistakes, she would always have a salary to collect.

After hearing them, Lalatina did not immediately start thinking about setting sail on her own either.

The fact that she had gained Lord Kassadin’s approval was, in her heart, inseparable from Mr. Tony.

Mr. Tony had said back then that others would not even have the chance to work for him. Now, it was clear that those words had been very true.

If she had not been working for Mr. Tony, she might not have dared to come to Void Island. Even if she had come, she might have been frightened away soon afterward.

After all, the reason the other Void Cult members on the island treated her so warmly was because Mr. Tony had brought her here. Therefore, it was still necessary for her to work for Mr. Tony.

Still, hearing about the many paths of evolution had truly opened Sarah and Lalatina’s eyes.

New Year’s Day quickly passed.

Lalatina knew she only had one day off, so she immediately returned to work as usual the next day.

Tony gave himself several days off, but he could do so because he had already reached an agreement with Lex.

After the New Year, Lex would arrange for scientists from Mogri to meet with him within a few days.

Sarah knew that after the New Year Pilgrimage, many members on the island would soon be leaving, so she resumed work the next day as well.

When Sarah arrived at the Records Temple on time, she saw a red giant over three meters tall waiting at the entrance.

"Lord Lex, you’re up early."

After seeing him, Sarah took the initiative to greet him.

"You returned to work immediately after the holiday."

"It seems you’re very punctual as a recorder."

Upon hearing her greeting, Lex turned around and looked down at Sarah. Though she was as weak as a chick in his eyes, the displeasure he had initially felt toward her was gone from his gaze.

"After all, many people will definitely be leaving the island today, so of course I need to work."

"But you’re the first one."

"The New Year Pilgrimage has only just ended. Are you leaving so soon?"

"Why not stay on the island for a few more days?"

"Lord Kyle and the others should want to talk with you some more as well."

Hearing the praise in Lex’s words, Sarah smiled and spoke.

"I have many things to do on Mogri, and I also made an agreement with Tony to send people over to assist with his research as soon as possible."

"Naturally, I have to return for a while."

"So talking with Kyle and the others can wait until next time."

Lex spoke after hearing this.

"Lord Lex, you really are diligent."

As Sarah responded with a smile, she immediately began making the record.

Although she knew Lex was returning to Mogri, she still had to make the proper record.

"I have been fortunate enough to receive the blessing of the great Great God of the Void Kassadin. Naturally, I dare not slack off."

"Miss Sarah, I’ll see you at next year’s pilgrimage."

After seeing Sarah carefully record the date he planned to leave, his destination, and the time of departure, Lex’s gaze carried a trace of approval.

"Mm, see you next year."

Sarah waved with a smile as she bid him farewell.

Lex nodded, then strode directly toward the airport.

Only a few minutes after Sarah entered the Records Temple, other Void Cult members began arriving one after another to register where they were going and how long they planned to stay.

As the name Recorder Sarah became known to every member on the island—

Although Sarah’s appearance did not completely suit the tastes of every Void Cult member, they had all developed the habit of greeting her before departing.

Sarah remained busy with registrations from eight in the morning until around three in the afternoon. After no one came for half an hour—

Sarah reviewed the records and saw that as many as three hundred and forty-six people had registered to leave. Every one of them was departing the day after completing their pilgrimage on the island.

She could not help but sigh at how free they all were.

Then Sarah wrote a notice saying that she was heading to the cafeteria to take a break and find something to eat.

"Sonia-senpai."

"I received Lord Kassadin’s approval!"

"Does that mean I can stay on the island from now on?"

However, just then, the arrival of a figure filled Sarah’s face with delight. She rushed forward and threw herself into her arms, smiling as she spoke.

"Sarah, congratulations on receiving Mr. Kassadin’s approval."

"Yes, you can stay on the island from now on."

"This also means your salary can be increased."

Sonia smiled as she spoke.

Since that had been their agreement from the beginning, once Sarah received approval—

Sonia naturally came to meet Sarah at once and raise her salary while she was at it.

After joining the Void Cult, Sarah’s appetite had grown tremendously. With her original salary of 1.2 million, it was not enough for her to eat and drink well on the island.
