Extra Income

Sonia knew she had nothing to worry about when it came to Lalatina.

Because aside from Mr. Kassadin, the true biggest tycoon on the island was Mr. Tony.

With Lalatina following Mr. Tony, how could she possibly need to worry about Lalatina going hungry?

But Sarah was different.

Although Sonia knew the personalities of Kyle and the others very well.

Since Sarah had just joined the Void Cult and they had known each other for a long time, they would definitely treat Sarah to meals for a while when she was still weak.

But Sarah clearly could not accept their kindness for no reason, so if her salary was not raised soon, she might end up going hungry several times a day.

"My salary is going up? That’s wonderful!"

Sarah was also extremely happy when she heard Sonia-senpai’s words.

Even though she knew that, even with a raise, an annual salary of twelve million was not much compared to many members on the island.

They could casually offer several million during the New Year Pilgrimage.

Not to mention Lord Tony and Lord Lex, who had each generously offered one billion as tribute.

But twelve million a year was a salary she had never even dared to dream of before. It was equivalent to working at the Celebrity Hotel for decades.

That meant she could freely buy beautiful clothes she liked and purchase lots of delicious food.

And once she had some capital, she could consider ways to make money with money. So Sarah was still very satisfied with her current situation.

"Mm, let go of my hand first. I’ll transfer this month’s salary to you right now."

"Also, considering your work situation, you’ll receive a monthly meal subsidy of five hundred thousand."

"I’ve already informed the cafeteria. Whenever you buy food or drinks there in the future, the meal subsidy will be deducted first."

Sonia nodded slightly and said with a smile.

"A meal subsidy of five hundred thousand? Really?"

Sarah’s little mouth fell open when she heard that the meal subsidy Sonia-senpai mentioned was as high as five hundred thousand.

"If I said it, then of course it’s true."

Sonia reached out and lightly scraped Sarah’s delicate nose, smiling as she spoke.

This was a decision she had made after discussing it with Mr. Kassadin.

Twelve million a year was already a great deal for an ordinary person, but compared to the average standard of the Void Cult members, it still was not particularly high.

After all, most members offered between three and five million during the New Year Pilgrimage.

The money contributed by any one person during the pilgrimage was equivalent to a quarter of Sarah’s annual salary.

So, if they wanted all the Void Cult members to willingly work for Void Island in the future, they naturally had to arrange all kinds of benefits.

Only by making them feel that their compensation was not exceptionally high, but not low either, could they prevent other thoughts from arising. If you wanted a horse to run, you had to feed it grass.

"Sonia-senpai, I love you!"

Sarah said happily when she heard that there really was such a generous meal subsidy.

"All right, all right."

Sonia responded when she saw how excited Sarah was.

After transferring the money to Sarah, she left less than ten minutes later.

Sarah took the money and happily headed straight for the cafeteria.

As the days passed.

January 1st, 2013, arrived on Earth.

Tony received the scientists Lex had sent and began researching spatial wormhole jump technology.

Lex had not only sent scientists, but also some equipment that could not be bought outside.

That finally made Tony understand why he had always been stuck at a bottleneck, unable to make progress.

Harvey knew that 2013 had arrived on Earth, and there were not many major events that would happen this year.

If he had to name something, it was the appearance of the Reality Stone and the trouble Thor would encounter.

Malekith wanted to make a comeback and plunge the entire universe into darkness.

But honestly, Harvey did not know whether Malekith had slept for too long or simply lacked strength.

He was actually defeated by Thor and Loki, whose strength was still growing and had yet to reach its peak.

Harvey admitted that Thor was not weak now, but Thor was still a long way from his peak.

And unlike before, if Thor asked Tony for help when the time came, dealing with Malekith would undoubtedly be even easier.

As for the Extremis Virus created by Dr. Killian, it was even less capable of causing any real trouble.

If Steve and Banner found out about it, Dr. Killian would probably be smashed to pieces by the two of them.

Pepper might even beat Dr. Killian to death herself if she discovered his scheme.

So Harvey was more concerned about the Reality Stone appearing.

It would not be difficult for Harvey to obtain the Reality Stone, because he knew where it would end up.

As long as he got it before Thanos did, that was enough, so Harvey was not in any hurry to act.

Harvey did not have such grand ambitions about collecting all six Infinity Stones.

After all, even if he gathered them all, using all six Infinity Stones at once came with considerable side effects.

It was better to use individual Stones as circumstances required. There was no need to gather them all and become the enemy of every great power in the universe.

For now, he only needed to avoid letting Thanos erase him directly with the Infinity Stones.

Because as long as he was given enough time, he could grow strong enough to obtain everything he wanted.

After the New Year Pilgrimage, Void Island returned to its usual peace and tranquility.

Sonia also collected the money offered to the Void Cult.

"Wow, there’s so much tribute money this year."

After tallying the amount, Sonia’s eyes curved into crescents as she beamed with delight.

"How much is there?"

Harvey was somewhat curious when he saw Sonia happily counting money and even exclaiming in admiration.

"A total of 4.86212 billion."

"With that added in, after deducting the fixed funds estimated for the island’s annual expenses, our available liquid funds have now reached twenty billion."

"That lets me put some of my original plans on the agenda immediately."

Sonia replied with a smile.

None of this was mandatory, but the Void Cult members were all powerful people now, so they voluntarily offered some tribute to one another.

Although Sonia knew the reason it was so much was because Mr. Tony and Mr. Lex alone had each offered two billion.

The two of them might not contribute so much every year in the future, but as the number of members increased, tribute money alone would not be a small sum each year.

Sonia’s priority was naturally to develop the various facilities on Void Island first, before developing the smaller islands.

After all, this was the Void Cult’s headquarters. If they wanted the members on the island to feel a sense of belonging, the island could not lack the various facilities commonly found outside.

"Mm, handle it as you see fit."

Harvey was somewhat surprised to hear that their liquid funds had reached twenty billion. Then he nodded as he looked at the highly motivated Sonia.
