Superman Spider-Man Appears
It was still that country road leading to the suburbs.
The same vintage Chevrolet, with the same family of three inside.
But unlike before, this time they were returning from the farm to their home in Queens, New York City.
Peter’s mood was completely different from when they had come.
"Cause it’s hard for me to lose,
In my life I’ve found only time will tell…"
His right hand rested on the window, his fingers lightly tapping along with the soothing music.
Sunlight streamed through the window onto Peter’s face, as though he had been brushed with golden dust.
Watching the scenery flow past outside, Peter’s heart swayed with it.
Gradually, he narrowed his eyes and enjoyed the peace of the moment.
This time, Peter did not mind the vintage car’s slow speed.
Anywhere with sunlight was heaven to Peter now.
Yet every journey eventually came to an end.
He did not know how long had passed. Perhaps several hours.
When Peter opened his eyes again, the view outside had changed drastically.
Towering buildings gradually appeared ahead.
Pedestrians and vehicles, once scarcely visible, gradually grew more numerous.
The chatter of pedestrians mingled with the blaring of car horns.
The resulting din reminded Peter of the unforgettable experience from the day before.
"New York City, one of the most famous cities in the Marvel Universe."
Feeling the city’s current prosperity, Peter could not help but sigh inwardly.
Before long, it would become the most dangerous city in the Marvel Universe. A wormhole opening above the city would bring countless Chitauri troops.
"Luckily, that playboy hasn’t been kidnapped yet. There’s still plenty of time before the crisis arrives for me to grow stronger."
"Besides, even if the crisis struck right now, I have strength far beyond Captain Even-Stevens. Protecting myself and my family would be more than enough."
Peter, who had already awakened some of Superman’s abilities, was not worried about the coming crisis.
Screech…
Just as Peter was lost in thought, the sound of tires scraping against the ground suddenly reached his ears clearly.
"Good, it wasn’t a car accident."
Realizing there had been no accident, Peter abandoned the idea of revealing his abilities to protect Uncle Ben and Aunt May.
Instead, he let the sudden braking throw him sharply forward, then asked in alarm, "Uncle Ben, what’s wrong?"
"Sorry, Peter. I didn’t expect a group of pedestrians to suddenly rush out ahead."
Uncle Ben had not expected that, while driving perfectly normally, he would suddenly run into a group of demonstrators.
Before Peter could figure out what these marchers were protesting about,
someone wearing a Spider-Man Mask, his face completely obscured, suddenly darted up beside the car window. "Hey, buddy."
Then, as if they were old friends, he invited Peter in the car, "You look like you’re in middle school too. Want to come cheer for Spider-Man with us?"
"I’ll pass, sorry."
Suppressing the urge to punch the guy flat, Peter politely declined.
"All right, then. Here, take this. I hope you get the chance to become a member of our Spider-Man Fan Mutual Aid Society."
Seeing Peter refuse, the guy did not press the matter. Instead, he tossed a bundle of something through the car window.
Then, still wearing the mask, he continued shouting slogans like "Spider-Man is an agent of justice!" and invited nearby pedestrians to join them.
"Looks like we missed something remarkable."
Carefully weaving the car through the marchers, Uncle Ben could not help but sigh.
"That’s right. We missed something interesting."
Looking at the red Spider-Man Mask in his hand, Peter smiled faintly.
That night, Peter lay in bed.
Once again, he received the system’s refreshed tasks.
1: Show the world that you are a compassionate and loving Superman. Stop a crime currently in progress and shout at the scene, "I am Superman."Reward: 100 points, randomly awaken one ability.2: With great power, your dad can be as wild as he wants...3:...The task options were almost no different from the previous ones.
"Looks like if I keep choosing the third option, these tasks won’t refresh on their own."
Peter had stayed at the farm for a full week and had accepted the third task for nearly a week.
"Open my panel."
Name: Peter ParkerLife Script: SupermanCharacter Template: Normal SupermanCharacter Abilities: Solar Energy Absorption (Eternal), Man of Steel (Awakened), Super Vision (Awakened), Super Hearing (Awakened), Super Strength (Inactive), Super Speed (Inactive),...Character Weaknesses: NonePoints: 0Point Shop: LockedWith ten times the efficiency of absorbing sunlight, Peter had successfully awakened two of Superman’s abilities in just a few days.
And the Man of Steel ability he had awakened first had already moved beyond its initial stage.
His body still could not withstand a nuclear bomb, but taking an RPG or a grenade was no problem at all.
His speed and physical endurance also far surpassed those of ordinary people.
However, the ability he most urgently wanted to awaken—flight, or rather, the Bio-Electric Aura—still had not awakened.
"This is already pretty good. It’s much faster than Superman in the movies."
Peter was already quite satisfied. He still remembered that in a Superman TV series from his previous life, one supposedly strongest Superman had not awakened the ability to fly until the final season.
"Since I already have enough strength, it’s time to switch tasks."
In truth, Peter was already impatient to try the other tasks.
"But between one and two, which should I choose?"
Peter found himself conflicted.
"Forget it, I’ll choose this one!"
At last, Peter stopped hesitating and directly selected the second option.
He chose the second option because he felt that if he chose the first, the tasks afterward might all develop along Superman’s path.
He might be Superman, but he did not possess the real Superman’s compassionate heart.
Nor did he enjoy being everyone else’s babysitter.
"But I definitely can’t go out so openly. Otherwise, my house will probably be surrounded by people the next day."
Since he was going out to cause trouble, Peter naturally had to hide his identity.
Just as he wondered how to conceal it, he suddenly spotted something he had casually tossed onto the desk after returning earlier.
"Yep, you’re the one!"
He grabbed the Spider-Man Mask from the desk, then pulled the Spider-Man Suit he had nearly forgotten from the closet.
Then he dug out the two small devices he had made after transmigrating from beneath his bed and strapped them onto his left and right wrists.
"Hmm, aside from the clothes being a little tight, I look pretty good."
Peter admired his current heroic appearance in the mirror and felt extremely satisfied.
The next moment, he opened the window and jumped from the second floor without hesitation.
"Superman Spider-Man, appearing!"
