Sword Flight

Rumble!!!

The ground shook as a bottomless rift opened in the center of the valley. A bright crimson Mechanical Tyrannosaurus Rex strode out in massive steps. Immediately afterward, the earth split open in the east, west, south, and north, revealing four giant robots modeled after prehistoric creatures.

The suddenly opened chasm resembled a gaping abyssal maw, greedily swallowing the crowded Skull Crawlers. The five robots charged through countless obstacles and gathered in one place.

"Go Go Power Rangers—"

"Go Go Power Rangers—"

The BGM from her childhood rang in her ears. Ying Yingying thought she was imagining it, but when she turned around, she discovered that Russell was humming it.

Ying Yingying: "…"

"Tyrannosaurus Rex, Mastodon, Triceratops, Sabretooth, Pterodactyl… the first season of the American Dino Force. This was probably the first American TV show I ever followed…" Russell felt a little awkward. When he was young, he had thought Dino Force was unbelievably cool. Now, all he felt was overwhelming embarrassment.

Did Reincarnators really go this far nowadays?

"Hehe, you remember it awfully clearly!"

"I never noticed when I was little that the Tyrannosaurus Rex formed the head. So who formed the crotch? Today, I finally get the chance to find out." Embarrassed as he was, Russell was also a little curious. After all, it was a mech—one of every man’s dreams.

"I never thought you were innocent once too. I thought you’d been a bastard since childhood!" Ying Yingying said irritably.

"You’re in quite a mood. Believe it or not, I’ll cut off your Magic Power?"

"If we switched places, you’d be in quite a mood too."

"You really don’t know how to talk. You killed the conversation in one sentence." Russell sighed, unwilling to argue with Ying Yingying, and continued, "What was your childhood like? Pleasant Goat, Balala the Fairies, or was it really Bald Qiang?"

"Sailor Moon!"

"I see. I really didn’t have that." Russell shook his head slightly. Sailor Moon had not been part of his childhood; he had only learned to appreciate it after turning eighteen.

Below them, the five Zords had already completed their combination. Their sharply angular bodies radiated an imposing aura. Russell could see clearly that the Tyrannosaurus Rex still formed the crotch. Both heads belonged to it.

It was somewhat different from the bloated machine he remembered. The Zord robot below stood at least seventy meters tall, its streamlined body wreathed in lightning.

Putting aside the embarrassment, it actually looked pretty cool.

It was clear that when the Zords combined, the Skull Crawlers had been utterly confused and frozen in place. Only after the Zord drew its forty-meter sword did they snap out of it, roaring as they swarmed forward.

Buzz buzz buzz—

The greatsword swept sideways, and visible force burst outward in a fan shape from the Zord, clearing a vast stretch of open ground before it. Wherever the shockwave passed, mountains cracked and collapsed, valleys were leveled, and trees and rocks were uprooted and blown away.

The defenses and powerful vitality that the Skull Crawlers took such pride in were like paper before the steel giant, too fragile to withstand a single blow.

After several sweeping slashes, more than a hundred enormous Skull Crawlers were cut in half. The smaller ones were crushed into pulp by the shockwaves. Blood flowed across the ground, quickly gathering into a small lake.

At that moment, the ground suddenly collapsed. The Zord robot lost its footing and sank to its knees. Two giant Skull Crawlers, thirty meters tall and nearly one hundred and twenty meters long, sprang from underground and swung their claws at the Zord.

Sparks flew as crisp clangs of metal collision exploded. Several white marks appeared on the Zord’s body.

The attack was not over. The two Skull Crawlers closed in from both sides, their long snake-like tails wrapping around the Zord’s arms. Then they opened their gaping maws and clamped down hard on its metal head.

Boom—-

A soul-stirring arc of light flashed. Air currents surged around the Zord robot as multicolored light condensed and flowed into the greatsword, unleashing boundless lightning.

Crackle crackle!!!

The two Skull Crawlers howled and retreated. The surrounding Skull Crawlers were also intimidated by the lightning, hissing and roaring without daring to approach.

Taking the chance, the Zord robot stepped out of the pit, gathering power for its ultimate move. It swung the greatsword in a full circle with both arms before driving it heavily into the ground point-first.

In an instant, Lightning Snakes covered the earth, and arcs of light stretched endlessly in every direction!

The scorched soil rolled and exploded, stripping away a layer of earth and carving deep trenches across the ground. Lightning brutally shredded the air, creating terrifying currents that seemed capable of tearing apart everything. Everywhere they looked was filled with crisscrossing scars.

Dazzling lightning tore through the air and trampled across the battlefield again and again, slaughtering Skull Crawlers one after another where they stood. The blazing light was so shocking that even Russell and Ying Yingying, watching from far away, had to squint and raise their hands to shield their faces.

Boom—-

The lightning faded, and the Zord robot’s greatsword plunged deep into the ground once more, unleashing a devastating shockwave that flattened everything in all directions.

The battlefield was littered with corpses. Skull Crawler bodies lay everywhere, piled atop one another. From high above, it looked as though a blob of black ink had been splashed across a green curtain.

The battle ended. The Zord robot pulled out its greatsword, strode to the edge of the spewing crater, glanced at the pitch-black bottomless pit, and jumped in without hesitation.

"That guy was actually that strong!?" Russell said in surprise. What the hell had he been watching as a kid?

"So strange. I can’t understand Mecha Zord’s abilities at all…" Ying Yingying frowned lightly. The mech looked like the crystallization of technology, yet it also resembled a magical construct. But there were no Magic Power fluctuations, and it did not seem like a superpower either.

At the edge of the battlefield, quite a few Skull Crawlers still remained. They leaped over the corpses of their own kind and poured into the crater in a mad rush.

This left Russell deeply puzzled. "There’s something wrong with these Skull Crawlers. The Zord beat them that badly. No matter how brainless they are, survival should come first. There’s no reason for them to be so eager to throw their lives away."

Ying Yingying also sensed that something was wrong. The two descended from the sky and arrived at the edge of the crater.

"We’ve already cleared the Skull Island plot. If I’m not mistaken, all the Reincarnators must have gathered underground. There’s another world down there." As she said this, Ying Yingying shot Russell an annoyed glare. If she had not become Russell’s captive, she would have entered the underground world long ago.

Russell lifted a massive boulder in both hands and hurled it into the crater. He heard no echo for a long time. The pit was astonishingly deep.

Ying Yingying’s heart skipped a beat as she suddenly recalled something. Turning around, she saw the ill-intentioned look in Russell’s eyes. "What are you looking at me for? I absolutely won’t let you ride on my back again. Absolutely not!"

"Don’t be so smug. I don’t want to sit on your stomach."

"Bastard, why do you think so highly of yourself?"

"Then I’ll stand on you. We’ll use Sword Flight—I’ll fly, and you’ll be the sword!"

Ying Yingying: "…"

You’re the bitch!

An arm could not twist a thigh. In the end, Ying Yingying still yielded and became a mount. She lay on the ground as Russell fed Magic Power into her, and she slowly floated into the air.

"Wait!"

"What now?"

Russell took out the Adamantium Blade, which had turned into a paper slip. "Before we go down, restore my blade first…"
