The Domineering Pressure Domain!
Hydra’s heads—cutting off one would have been one thing, but this time, all nine had been severed at once!
Judging from the calls he had just taken, at least half of the bases hidden beneath the world had simultaneously suffered powerful attacks from outside forces. The preliminary estimate was losses beyond imagination, with at least tens of thousands of lives violently erased.
And the boss pulling the strings behind it all was sitting in the guest chair before him at that very moment, crossing his legs and watching him make a fool of himself…
It was simply too arrogant, too tyrannical, too inhumane, too cold-blooded!
Pierce’s mind went blank. Shocked and furious, his body trembled faintly as he struggled to find words for such conduct.
Hydra, an organization that had always excelled at plotting schemes and committing every evil imaginable, had actually reached the day when it was being pinned to the ground and brutalized by someone else.
The phone on the desk stopped ringing, only to ring again. There was no sign of it stopping.
"Why aren’t you answering? Didn’t expect it, did you? Your bases are gone."
Kyle did not miss the chance to taunt him, wearing an expression that asked whether this was surprising enough for him.
Pierce gritted his teeth and asked weakly, "When did you… start preparing for this?"
"After obtaining the address files for your various bases from the storage device that scientist had turned into in the old military base, I had the idea." Kyle spread his hands. "But back then, it wasn’t the best time to strike. The best opportunity was when the Helicarriers took to the sky and Project Insight began."
"I understand now. We Hydra cannot be said to have lost unfairly against a monster like you." Pierce immediately understood and gave a bitter smile.
Once Hydra placed its hopes of turning the tide on the Helicarriers and Project Insight, its defenses and vigilance over its own bases would briefly fall to their lowest point.
It was a blind spot in conventional thinking.
After all, anyone would have concentrated their strength on stopping Project Insight first, given the danger it posed to the world.
Only Kyle had the nerve to divide all the forces he could gather into several groups, sending only Steve and a few others to stop the Helicarriers while dispatching even more forces to launch surprise attacks on Hydra’s bases.
"Doesn’t matter. Hydra’s heads will grow back even after they’re cut off," Kyle said with a smile.
"Can you not mention heads?" Pierce’s lips twitched as he stared at Kyle without a will to live. It had once been a propaganda slogan, but now it had become a joke.
The blow Hydra had suffered this time was comparable to its devastating defeat during World War II.
After Red Skull disappeared back then, Hydra had completely withdrawn from the world stage and lost its ability to threaten Earth’s rule. Its remnants had developed in the shadows for over half a century, finally gaining some momentum through S.H.I.E.L.D.
But just as it was about to rise again, it had been beaten back into its original form. Hydra was truly headed for its end this time.
The more Pierce thought about it, the less willing he was to accept it. His face flushed red before he finally let out a long sigh. "What a pity. In 1944, Schmidt should have dealt with you sooner, no matter what. He should have just dropped a nuclear bomb on the recruit camp and buried both you and Captain America there."
Who could have imagined that Hydra, the organization that had spread fear across the world and infiltrated so deeply, would be destroyed by two rookie recruits from the same military camp?
"Schmidt? You mean the guy I chased for dozens of kilometers with a sword? As for nuclear bombs, I seem to have experienced one firsthand."
Kyle smiled faintly, then suddenly rose from his chair. Looking down at Pierce, he said inexplicably, "Still unwilling to give up? Since you’ve already called them to the door, why not let them come in?"
Pierce’s expression shifted. No longer hesitating, he hardened his heart and pressed an invisible button beneath the desk.
With a click, the mechanism activated. A section of the smooth floor split apart, and Pierce, chair and all, descended into the hollow below.
At the same time, dense gunfire erupted outside the door.
In the blink of an eye, the office door was riddled with holes. A rain of bullets blanketed everything inside, intending to wipe out every living thing within.
Kyle snorted coldly. His golden eyes gleamed as nearly transparent golden flames rose from his body—majestic, sacred, and carrying extreme heat!
A heat wave swept forth!
The reversing hot wind sent countless sheets of paper flying, burning them into ash.
The temperature inside soared all the way upward, and the nearby desks and chairs immediately burst into flames on their own.
Countless bullets melted into molten iron before coming within half a meter of Kyle, splattering across the floor with sizzling sounds.
"Stop him!"
The shattered door crashed down. A large group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and armed personnel, wielding all kinds of advanced weapons and firearms, flooded in and occupied nearly half the office. They stared at Kyle across from them as if facing a great enemy.
The only enemy—and the strongest enemy!
"You overestimate yourselves."
Kyle sneered, knowing they were Hydra’s expendable agents planted within S.H.I.E.L.D. Pierce wanted to use them to stall for time and create an opportunity to escape.
But Kyle did not care.
Every Hydra member who appeared today would die! The more who came, the better!
Ignoring the threats of the armed crowd, Kyle strode toward the door, and his movement made countless faces pale at once.
"Stop right there!" the captain at the front shouted in terror.
"Stop?" Kyle laughed. He heavily took a step forward, using the fire god’s might and Gravity Manipulation at the same time. "Get down on your knees!"
The intimidating force of a higher-dimensional divine bloodline, combined with the more than tenfold increase in gravity from Force Field Traction—two seemingly unrelated abilities produced an unexpectedly remarkable effect when used together.
‘Bzz—’
Centered on Kyle, an invisible and domineering pressure rippled outward, sweeping violently through the room like transparent waves. Everything in the office fell into a brief state of stagnation in an instant.
‘Swish, swish, swish!’
More than a dozen armed personnel dropped to their knees at once. Their heads, elbows, and knees slammed heavily against the floor as they trembled, bent over and prostrated, unable to rise. Muffled cries of terror escaped them.
Kyle continued walking without even sparing them a glance, passing through the crowd and leaving.
This pressure was enough to throw both mind and body into disorder. It was equivalent to a personal domain unique to him, though it only worked on ordinary people.
Only after Kyle walked out the door.
Several seconds later, the dozen or so armed personnel finally collapsed limply onto the floor. Drenched in sweat and utterly exhausted, they gasped for breath, their eyes still filled with terror.
They were not beings on the same level!
"Wait, my back is on fire! Someone help put it out!" an armed man cried out in panic as his combat suit caught fire.
He frantically rolled across the floor, but the more he rolled, the brighter the golden-red flames burned, until his body became a ball of fire.
"My clothes are on fire too!"
"Stay away from me! Don’t come over here!"
By the time they realized that everyone had flames on them, it was already too late. The golden flames consciously coiled around their bodies and clearly would not go out until they had burned them to the bone.
"If it’s going to burn, then burn thoroughly."
Kyle walked down the corridor, listening to the faint screams and wails behind him. His expression neither joyful nor sorrowful, he continued toward the elevator.
This fire had only just begun to burn.
