The End of the Road

"How could this be?"

The Shield Wall shattered, and Chthon’s expression changed drastically. He hurriedly prepared to flee, but at that moment, Wang Bert charged out of the raging wave of destruction, grabbed Chthon by the neck, and slammed him against the barrier. Then, his right fist rained down relentlessly on Chthon’s head.

Bang, bang, bang… Wang Bert’s fists were fast and fierce. With every blow, Chthon’s soul dimmed a little more.

Chthon hurriedly controlled the Altar to begin a sacrifice. Just then, Wang Bert’s shadow kicked the Altar, causing it to explode with a thunderous boom.

Chthon’s expression turned uglier than ever. He simply could not understand any of this. Why had the shadow betrayed him?

Naturally, it was because of the Mind Concept. Although Wang Bert mainly used the Mind Concept to strengthen himself, controlling others was the most basic application of Mind Power.

With Wang Bert’s Mind Power, controlling his own shadow was no challenge at all—though he kept a low profile, he was actually a master of the mind.

After destroying the Altar, the shadow flew to Wang Bert’s side. Then, his eyes lit up red, and two Heat Rays slammed fiercely into Chthon, rapidly dimming his soul.

Chthon was furious and humiliated beyond measure. He was a mighty Demon God, yet two bastards had pinned him to a wall and were beating him up?

Bang! Chthon’s soul exploded, turning into dozens of streams of Black Qi that fled in every direction. Wang Bert and the shadow had been prepared. They both exhaled freezing air at the same time, freezing a large number of the Black Qi. Only half managed to escape.

Immediately afterward, Wang Bert punched the ice, shattering both it and the Black Qi trapped inside into nothingness.

Chthon reformed in the distance. His soul had originally been so solid that it was no different from an ordinary person’s, but now it had become somewhat transparent.

"Chthon, are you still going to struggle on your last legs?"

Wang Bert strode toward Chthon and said, "No matter what other tricks you have, you are dying today."

As Chthon communicated with the God of Shadows to dismiss the shadow, he gritted his teeth and said to Wang Bert, "Blood God, no one has ever forced me into such a state."

"That only means everyone you met before was weak, because you yourself are weak too."

Wang Bert said indifferently, "A weakling defeated by a clone."

Chthon was so enraged he nearly exploded. If Wang Bert’s true body had defeated him, he would not have been this furious. The problem was that Bald Wang Bert was merely a clone. A mighty Demon God like him had actually been beaten into this state by a clone? Honestly, Chthon was beginning to wonder whether he was having a nightmare. Otherwise, how could something this absurd happen? Chthon opened his mouth, about to speak, but Wang Bert cut him off. "Don’t tell me, ‘Do you think you’ve won?’"

Chthon was a little embarrassed. That was exactly what he had been about to say. He shouted, "Blood God, you do not understand the power of Black Magic."

As he spoke, a massive rune emerged from Chthon’s body and enveloped him completely. Then, the rune transformed into black flames that blazed fiercely across Chthon’s soul.

At the same time, a large amount of black flame appeared out of nowhere around Wang Bert, engulfing him completely.

Black Magic—mutual destruction.

Simply put, it ignited both parties’ souls at the same time. If another Magician used it, their own soul would burn twice as fast as their opponent’s. But Chthon possessed the Black Magic Concept, so both sides burned at the same speed.

This move was purely about injuring oneself to injure the enemy. Chthon refused to believe that an Ancient God like him could not outlast a mere divine clone.

Even if he truly could not outlast him, Chthon could still cheat—by sacrificing souls.

"So the power of Black Magic is hurting yourself to hurt others? Chthon, you are a mighty Demon God. Isn’t it a little unbecoming to use this sort of tactic against a tiny clone like me?"

Wang Bert sneered as he used the Mind Concept to suppress the black flames on his body. However, the effect was poor. Simply put, he could slow them down, but he could not extinguish them.

"The essence of Black Magic is exchange."

Chthon defended himself in embarrassment and fury. He was embarrassed because, as a mighty Demon God, he actually had to use mutual destruction against a small clone. He was furious because Blood God had looked down on him the whole time, yet now he kept calling him a "mighty Demon God." Shameless.

Wang Bert sneered. "Are you sure it is exchange, rather than shamelessness?"

"What it is does not matter. What matters is that you are doomed today."

Chthon said through gritted teeth, "Your true body will die too. When that happens, I will erase every trace of your existence. No one will remember who you were."

"Is that so?"

Wang Bert smiled disdainfully and remained where he was without moving, allowing the black flames to burn him.

Chthon sensed that something was wrong. He asked, "Aren’t you going to struggle a little? For example, rush over here and beat me up?"

Wang Bert smiled. "If I beat you up, the flames on me will only burn faster, won’t they?"

"You know this Black Magic?"

Chthon froze, then cried out in alarm, "No, it is not just this Black Magic. You knew every Black Magic spell I used just now, didn’t you?"

"Chthon, you truly are a troublesome opponent. Fighting you took far more effort than fighting Astros."

Wang Bert did not answer directly. He said, "Unfortunately, you ran into me. Today, you are destined to die, because I am invincible."

Chthon roared, "Blood God, tell me. Why do you know everything? And Adam’s trump card—was it given to him by you?"

Wang Bert still did not answer. He said mysteriously, "Do you know? Every force has an equal and opposite reaction."

The next moment, the flames on Chthon’s body surged wildly, burning him until he screamed in agony, while every flame on Wang Bert’s body vanished.

Chthon shouted in shock, "How could this be? How could this be?"

"Substitute Black Magic is not something only you can use. I can use it too."

Wang Bert said calmly, "You used Substitute Black Magic to control me several times before. Each time, I secretly left a mark in your soul. When you used mutual destruction, I activated all those marks.

"The effect is simple. Every attack I receive will rebound onto you. Chthon, farewell."

Chthon possessed the essence of an Ancient God. If Wang Bert wanted to kill him, he would need to grind him down over many years. But if Chthon "committed suicide," everything became simple.

In fact, Wang Bert had been forcing Chthon to "commit suicide" all along. Everything had been within his calculations.

Furthermore, Chthon could not stop mutual destruction on his own. In other words, the black flames would only go out if Wang Bert agreed.

As an old schemer, Chthon quickly realized that he had been set up. Amid the blazing flames, he roared hysterically, "Blood God, tell me, why do you know everything?"

Wang Bert still did not answer. Unless the enemy was already dead, he would never reveal his Trump Cards. He said, "After you die, I will inherit everything you have, including your Black Magic Concept, the Prime Plane, your wife… Uh, do you have a wife?"

"Blood God!"

Chthon gritted his teeth in rage. Damn it, Blood God was far too cautious. Even at this point, he still refused to reveal the truth.

That truth was very important. Chthon did not want to be schemed against again—what, would Chthon get another chance? Of course he would. He still had one final trump card he had not used.

"Blood God, I surrender. I will withdraw from the Main Universe."

Chthon took a deep breath and said, "Extinguish the flames on me and let me leave. Otherwise, do not blame me for truly bringing you down with me. And by you, I mean your true body."

Wang Bert knew what Chthon’s trump card was, so he cooperatively said, "I would like to see what other trump card you have."

"The Book of Chthon."

Chthon gave Wang Bert a deep look and stretched out his hand. A book that looked ancient and evil appeared in his palm. It was the Book of Chthon, the origin book of Black Magic.

The Book of Chthon had been written by Chthon. Even its material was made from his body. Outside the Main Universe, he could not summon it, but once he entered the Main Universe, he could call this book back at any time, just as he had now.

"Vampires were created by the Book of Chthon, so it contains a spell capable of erasing all Vampires."

Chthon said, "This spell is called the Montes Formula. As long as I recite it, all Vampires will be erased."

Wang Bert said with exaggerated seriousness, "I think I have seen someone use this move before. His name was something like Ka…?"

"Blood God, even though you are now a Creator God, the Montes Formula will still affect you. At the very least, it can heavily injure you. You are currently fighting Galactus. Once you are badly injured, you will certainly die."

Chthon shouted, "Let me leave. You will be fine, and I will be fine. I can promise not to scheme against the Main Universe for ten thousand years."

"That is because you need at least ten thousand years to recover from your injuries."

Wang Bert sneered. "Go ahead and recite it if you want. You are dying here today."

Chthon snapped, "Do you think I do not dare?"

"I am telling you to recite it. Stop talking nonsense."

Chthon gritted his teeth, unable to keep a trace of suspicion from rising in his heart. Could Blood God have another scheme? Then Chthon shook his head. No matter what Blood God had planned, he had to recite the spell. If he did not, he would certainly die.

"I can create you, and I can destroy you…"

As Chthon chanted, every Vampire felt a catastrophic danger descend upon them. Dracula touched his arm and muttered, "Why do I feel like I am about to be completely finished? I am the immortal Dracula."

At the same time, the sea of blood Wang Bert had transformed into churned with towering waves. Blood itself had sensed the threat.

"Huh? It seems a force is erasing the Blood Clan? Could it be Chthon?"

Seeing this, Galactus was overjoyed and accelerated his attacks. Vast sections of the sea of blood vanished.

"These cosmic gods have less and less martial virtue than the last."

Wang Bert rolled his eyes, took out the Reality Stone from his chest, and prepared to activate it.

Do not misunderstand. Wang Bert was not planning to use the Reality Stone against Galactus. It had another purpose—he did not need the Reality Stone to deal with Galactus.

Within Fair Space, Chthon chanted faster and faster. At the same time, he shouted telepathically at Wang Bert, "Blood God, are you truly not going to stop me?"

"Keep chanting. Do not stop."

Wang Bert said coldly. Chthon gritted his teeth. He did not know what Wang Bert intended to do, but at this point, he could not stop. Even if he died, he would make Blood God pay the price.

"…all Vampires, vanish."

Chthon spoke the final line of the spell. Every Vampire was erased, Dracula included. Only Wang Bert did not die, but the sea of blood rapidly shrank, and Wang Bert’s aura weakened drastically.

Galactus immediately withdrew his fist and carefully sensed Wang Bert’s true body, preparing to destroy it completely.

"Blood God, let us die together."

Chthon laughed wildly amid the flames. Wang Bert smiled and said, "Chthon, thank you."

Chthon asked in astonishment, "What do you mean?"

Wang Bert said, "Thank you for helping me remove my body’s shackles. Thank you for helping the Blood Clan be reborn. Thank you for helping me defeat Galactus. Chthon, you really are a good person."

"The Blood Clan has been erased."

Within the sea of blood, Wang Bert activated the Reality Stone. The Reality Stone shone brightly, altering the Blood Clan according to Wang Bert’s will and helping them evolve.

What, why had Wang Bert not weakened? Come on, he was the Lord of Blood and possessed the complete Concept of Blood. How could a mere Montes Formula heavily injure him? Everything earlier had merely been an act for Galactus. Wang Bert was no longer who he used to be.

However, the Montes Formula had not been entirely ineffective against Wang Bert. It completely erased his Blood Clan bloodline. From now on, Wang Bert would no longer be a member of the Blood Clan. He was the Lord of Blood, and his level of life had completely transformed.

At the same time, on Earth, every Osborn Corporation employee shouted in unison at their supervisor’s command, "Dracula, Vampire Progenitor Dracula."

"Who is calling my name?"

Dracula, whose consciousness had sunk into darkness, suddenly awoke. Then, he revived once more and reappeared in space.

Dracula’s Concept Ability: As long as someone in the world remembers me, I will not die.

Seeing Dracula revive, Tony hurriedly shouted, "Hey, Dracula, what is going on? Why did all of you suddenly disappear?"

Blade and the others’ disappearance had put Tony in grave danger. He had nearly been beaten to death by the Demon Gods—his mouth was too foul, so the Demon Gods had chased after him and beaten him up.

"I do not know what happened either, but I feel pretty good."

Dracula said excitedly. He could feel that his body had changed. How should he put it? It was as if he had become a different person—or rather, a different ghost.

Immediately afterward, Blade, Lilith, Mercury, and the other Blood Clan members revived one after another. Their faces were full of confusion. They were confused both about what had just happened and about the changes in themselves.

Their bodies were clearly different.

At the same time, within Fair Space, Chthon let out a shrill scream. His entire soul became as transparent as a phantom—he had suffered backlash from the Montes Formula.

If Chthon had been at full strength, this bit of backlash would have meant nothing. The problem was that he was not only severely injured, but also being burned by raging flames. Under such circumstances, the Montes Formula’s backlash was fatal.

Chthon did not have much time left to live.

"Blood God, why did this happen? Tell me, why did this happen?"

Chthon begged, "Do not let me die without understanding. Tell me everything."

Wang Bert could not help shaking his head. This old schemer was truly good at acting. He said, "Chthon, do not worry. I will make sure you perish completely."

"Perish completely?"

Chthon’s heart jolted. Could Blood God know about his arrangements? Then he shook his head. Impossible. Aside from himself, no one knew about those arrangements.
