Sacrifice

"Blood God!"

Chthon’s soul let out a shrill roar. He cared most about his pride, yet now he had been humiliated by a mere clone. How could he possibly endure it?

"Was I wrong? Hmph. In an age without heroes, even little brats can become famous. If I’d been born a few thousand years earlier, you never would have become a great demon god."

Wang Bert grew even more disdainful. He was deliberately provoking Chthon. Chthon was a mage—the angrier he became, the less threatening he was.

"Blood God, I will kill you!"

Chthon roared. His soul abruptly broke away from the black mist, then he took a bead containing Time Power from his storage space and activated it with Black Magic. "Reverse the time of the Blood God’s clone."

The bead vanished instantly. Immediately afterward, Time Power descended upon Wang Bert, and his time began to reverse.

This bead was called the Time Bead. It could reverse a god’s time by one year. It was useless against most others, but to Wang Bert, it was a killing blow, because the Bald Clone had only been born recently.

Though enraged, Chthon had not lost his reason.

Very soon, time returned to the moment the Bald Clone had just been born. Wang Bert gave a contemptuous smile and said, "I think, therefore I am."

The next moment, Mind Power destroyed the Time Power. Wang Bert did not disappear. He abruptly appeared before Chthon and drove a heavy punch into him. Chthon screamed as he flew backward, his soul visibly dimmer than before.

A fist could not harm Chthon’s soul, but the Mind Power within it could.

"As long as it’s something I refuse, no one can force me to accept it."

Wang Bert walked toward Chthon step by step and said, "Chthon, you can give your last words now."

"Damn it, Mind Power is actually this formidable?"

Chthon gritted his teeth. In truth, it was not Mind Power that was powerful—it was Wang Bert. If it had been Gladiator, even with the same ability, he could not have achieved this.

Chthon said hatefully, "Do you think you’ve already won?"

"Why do all of you love saying that? What does it even mean?"

Wang Bert shot into the air, his fists raining down on Chthon in a dense barrage. Chthon formed a barrier with Soul Power to block Wang Bert’s fists, but under Wang Bert’s fierce assault, spiderweb-like cracks quickly appeared across the soul barrier.

Chthon did not dare hesitate. A large number of runes emerged from his soul, and then his soul suddenly shattered, turning into over a hundred streams of Black Qi that rushed toward Wang Bert.

Seeing this, Wang Bert attacked rapidly with both fists, creating a dense barrage of fist shadows that blasted toward the hundred-plus streams of Black Qi.

The streams of Black Qi dodged nimbly while trying to approach Wang Bert, but his fist force was too fierce. The Black Qi could not get close at all.

Seeing this, the Black Qi simply sacrificed several streams to entangle Wang Bert’s fist shadows. Then, one stream seized the chance to crash into Wang Bert’s chest, turning into a strange rune that branded itself onto his skin.

"Hmm?"

Wang Bert raised an eyebrow but paid it no mind, smashing those streams of Black Qi apart with a punch.

Seeing that the method worked, the other streams continued using sacrificial tactics to ram into Wang Bert. Before long, nine bizarre-looking runes had appeared on his body.

During the process, more than thirty streams of Black Qi were shattered by Wang Bert. Seeing their task complete, the remaining Black Qi fused together again and turned into a much weaker Chthon.

"Blood God, you’re dead."

Chthon gritted his teeth. To complete this killer move, he had sacrificed half his Soul Power. It would take at least several thousand years to recover.

Wang Bert said proudly, "I have the Mind Concept possessing me. No matter what method you use, you can’t kill me. I am invincible."

"You do have the Mind Concept. That truly does make you invincible."

Chthon sneered. "That is why I sealed your Mind Concept. Blood God, you can no longer use Concepts."

"You sealed my Concept?"

Wang Bert looked stunned. He clenched his fist and threw a punch, but his power had clearly dropped drastically. He shouted in shock, "Impossible! How can Concept Power be sealed?"

"Hahaha!"

Having finally regained some ground, Chthon laughed triumphantly. "Under normal circumstances, it would indeed be impossible. But don’t forget—I am an Ancient God."

Wang Bert said, "So what? Here, you only possess the power of a peak god."

"That’s right. I only possess the power of a peak god, but the essence of my soul is still that of an Ancient God."

Chthon said, "An Ancient God’s soul, combined with Black Magic, can naturally seal your Mind Concept."

Wang Bert’s expression darkened somewhat. "I see. A loophole in Fair Space."

"Everything in this world has loopholes. Fair Space is no exception."

Chthon said, "Though this method will damage my origin, it is worth it if I can kill you. Blood God, I told you before—you will die a miserable death."

Wang Bert shouted fiercely despite his inner weakness, "You think I’m afraid of you? Come at me if you dare."

"Of course I’ll come over."

Chthon gave a savage smile and prepared to gather magic. At that moment, however, his heart stirred. Was this going a little too smoothly? Could this be a trap?

As an old schemer, Chthon had always been suspicious, especially after Wang Bert had just plotted against him and even blown up his body.

I’ll find someone to test the waters first.

After hesitating, Chthon pulled another amber containing sealed blood from his soul. Then, he sacrificed his soul again. The blood lit up with Black Light and transformed into a miniature Serpent God Set.

That was right, a miniature Serpent God Set. Chthon was dumbfounded. He angrily said, "Seth, what do you mean by this? Didn’t you promise to fight for me once?"

Seth shouted in terror, "Chthon, save me! I’m about to die!"

Chthon asked incredulously, "You’re about to die? How is that possible? You are an Ancient God, and you descended in your true body."

Seth shouted, "Astros betrayed us! Right after you were taken away, she ambushed me. I can barely hold on!"

At that moment, in space, Astros had transformed into a black hole and was desperately devouring Seth, who had been pierced through by the Spear of God. Seth struggled desperately, barely holding out.

If Astros had been the only one, Seth would not have been left completely unable to fight back. The problem was that Doctor Doom and Ivan were beside her as well—yes, those two beasts.

Doctor Doom kept throwing nuclear bombs at Seth, even testing Hydrogen Bombs, while Ivan studied the black hole as he enhanced its power. Restrained by Astros, Seth could not attack them at all and could only take the beating.

Through the combined efforts of the three, Seth was gradually being pulled into the depths of the black hole. If this continued, he would soon be completely devoured.

That was why, when Seth sensed Chthon summoning him, he hurriedly split off a wisp of his aura to call for help.

"Astros betrayed us? How is that possible?"

Chthon was utterly stunned. Seth shouted, "Nothing is impossible. Chthon, hurry and save me! I can’t hold on much longer!"

"Hold on. I’ll get out and save you as soon as possible."

Chthon shouted. Seth was a useful piece on the board. He could not be abandoned so easily.

"Hurry up! I’m going to devour Doom, devour Ivan, devour Astros, devour the Main Universe!"

Seth roared, clearly enraged beyond measure. If he were swallowed by the black hole, he would perish completely. The thought filled him with extreme fear and fury.

"Fine."

Chthon dispersed his magic. After thinking for a moment, he took out another amber. Wang Bert was speechless. Was this guy an amber merchant?

This time, Chthon summoned the Eye Demon Shuma-Gorath. However, after Shuma-Gorath devoured the soul, he did not descend at all. He merely shouted, "Thank you for the soul. We can discuss anything else after I deal with Adam."

Looking at the completely blank amber, Chthon’s mouth twitched. Had he just been scammed? Chthon threw the amber away in fury and asked Wang Bert, "You used Fair Space to trap me, had Astros ambush Seth, and used Adam to restrain the Eye Demon. Blood God, you planned all of this, didn’t you?"

"Can’t be helped. You insisted on coming to the Main Universe to die."

Wang Bert snorted. "Today, I will make all three of you perish."

"Make three Ancient Gods perish? What an appetite. I’ll destroy you first, then deal with that traitor Astros and that bastard Satan."

Chthon stopped wasting words and controlled the Black Qi to transform into dense swarms of monsters that lunged at Wang Bert. Wang Bert was about to throw a punch when a Magic Array suddenly appeared beneath his feet. Countless Vengeful Souls emerged from the array and tightly entangled his body.

Chthon shouted savagely, "I won’t waste time. Blood God, die!"

Wang Bert snorted coldly and stomped hard. The Magic Array and Vengeful Souls wailed as they dissipated together. Then Wang Bert shot into the air, smashing every monster along his path to pieces.

Finally, Wang Bert’s fist carried an unshakable belief in victory as it blasted straight at Chthon. Unable to dodge in time, Chthon was sent flying by the punch and slammed into the spatial barrier like a meteor.

Chthon, whose body had faded again, shouted in disbelief, "How is this possible? Why can you still use your Mind Concept?"

Wang Bert did not answer. He flashed before Chthon like lightning and brought down a punch that suppressed everything. A large number of magic scrolls appeared around Chthon, transforming into countless shields in the air to block Wang Bert.

Wang Bert swung his fists in a relentless assault. The magic shields shattered one after another at an astonishing speed, but Chthon had far too many magic scrolls. The shields regenerated without end, and even Wang Bert could not destroy them all immediately.

Chthon breathed a sigh of relief, then used the Magic Eye to inspect Wang Bert’s body. He discovered that the runes were still branded on him. Unable to understand, he shouted, "The runes are still there. Why isn’t your Concept Power suppressed?"

That bastard Blood God had truly been luring him in earlier. How hateful. Where had all trust between people gone?

"Figure it out yourself."

Wang Bert said indifferently. Why had the runes failed to seal him? The same old reason—he had prepared for this move in advance.

Before the battle, Wang Bert and Zombie Universe Chthon had simulated this fight. Zombie Universe Chthon had not only told him all the methods Chthon might use, but had also prepared corresponding countermeasures for him.

This rune seal was one of them—Wang Bert had a Magic Array on his body that could resist the rune seal.

"Damn it."

Chthon grew even more furious. He gritted his teeth and constructed an Altar with Soul Power, preparing to make a sacrifice.

At this point, Chthon had few methods left. After all, Wang Bert’s One Punch Breaks All Laws. More importantly, Chthon was in terrible condition—his body had been blown apart, he had lost half his Soul Power, and his soul was injured.

To turn defeat into victory, Chthon could only seek outside help.

"Supreme Destruction Origin, I sacrifice a small world in exchange for you destroying the enemy before me."

Chthon chanted an incantation and sacrificed a small world containing over a million inhabitants. He had tampered with this small world in advance, allowing him to sacrifice it at any time.

As soon as Chthon finished speaking, that small world began to collapse. Then, a gigantic hand filled with destructive power emerged from the Altar and slapped toward Wang Bert as if it could destroy heaven and earth.

Wang Bert gave a contemptuous smile and met it with a fierce punch. The destructive giant hand was blown apart on the spot, turning into specks of light that faded away.

"This is Fair Space. Power has an upper limit here."

Wang Bert sneered. "Here, no matter what attack you use, I can blow it apart."

"You can blow apart one, but what about a hundred? A thousand? Ten thousand? I, Chthon, have worlds to spare!"

Chthon roared and made another sacrifice. Vast Destruction Power formed ten giant palms that blasted toward Wang Bert one after another.

"You don’t understand at all."

Wang Bert shook his head and threw punch after punch, each one shattering a destructive giant hand. A few breaths later, all ten giant hands had been destroyed.

"The upper limit is there. Destruction Power cannot send ten giant hands in at once—it can only send them one by one. And if they come one by one, there is an interval between them. With my strength, no matter how short that interval is, I can destroy each of those giant hands separately."

Wang Bert smashed a large number of magic shields with a backhanded elbow, then said, "Chthon, accept your fate. Kneel and await death. That way, I can still let your true spirit reincarnate. Otherwise, your body and soul will both be obliterated."

"You think you’re worthy of obliterating my body and soul?"

Chthon was furious beyond measure. He sacrificed a large number of lives again and shouted, "God of Shadows, I need your power."

Once the sacrifice was complete, Wang Bert’s shadow suddenly came alive, transforming into a solid figure standing before him.

Then the shadow shouted and threw an incomparably fierce punch at Wang Bert. Wang Bert smiled contemptuously and reached out to seize the shadow’s fist. "I’m powerful because of my conviction. What use is controlling my shadow?"

As he spoke, Wang Bert delivered a side kick to the shadow. Then he and the shadow were both sent flying.

Wang Bert’s face darkened. "Again?"

"The power of the God of Shadows can only control your shadow, but when combined with my Black Magic Concept, things are different."

As Chthon continuously summoned Destruction Power and transformed it into giant palms floating at his side, he said, "Its aura is linked to yours. Hitting it is the same as hitting you, and hitting you is the same as hitting it."

"Black Magic is really troublesome."

Wang Bert cursed, grabbed the shadow by the arm, and hurled it away. Then he turned and charged rapidly toward Chthon.

With a wave of his hand, Chthon stacked the destructive giant palms together and sent them slamming toward Wang Bert’s shadow. The shadow’s aura was connected to Wang Bert’s. Once it died, Wang Bert would die as well.

The shadow did not dodge, standing there and waiting for death. Seeing this, Wang Bert hurriedly rushed back and tackled the shadow to the ground, avoiding the destructive giant palms.

Before Wang Bert could breathe a sigh of relief, the shadow suddenly wrapped all four limbs around his body, leaving him unable to move. Chthon gave a savage smile as the destructive giant palms came crashing down upon them like the collapse of the heavens.

At that moment, Wang Bert and the shadow smiled at the same time. Then they released each other and sprang to the side of the destructive giant palms. After that, they exerted force together, pushing the destructive giant palms toward the Shield Wall.

Under their overwhelming power, the destructive giant palms slammed into the Shield Wall like a meteor. Then the giant palms exploded, and every magic shield shattered and dissipated into the air.
