The Grand Duke’s Fate

"Is that so?"

Hearing Grand Duke Damaskinos’s words, Wang Bert smiled faintly and asked with interest, "The one in the Main Control Room—is that your clone?"

Grand Duke Damaskinos’s expression changed slightly. "You could actually tell?"

"That is my father’s treasure, Damaskinos’s Clone Puppet."

Nissa gave Grand Duke Damaskinos a complicated look and spoke up on her own. She truly could not understand why her father had kept everything from her.

"Looks like I’ll be gaining another trophy tonight."

Wang Bert’s eyes lit up. He had always been interested in clones and the like.

"Blood God, you absolutely cannot stop the Reaper Virus."

Grand Duke Damaskinos shouted, "Even if you can stop it, your subordinates cannot."

"Old man, don’t bother trying to sow discord. With the Blood God here, we won’t suffer any harm at all."

Cold Ice spoke disdainfully, and the other guards felt the same way. Wang Bert asked, "Grand Duke Damaskinos, your daughter is in this laboratory too."

"So what? You definitely won’t spare either my daughter or me."

Grand Duke Damaskinos said to Nissa, "Nissa, today, father and daughter will face life and death together."

Nissa was deeply moved. "Father."

"Wow, I’m touched just hearing that."

Wang Bert said mockingly, "Grand Duke Damaskinos, if you care so much about your children, why did you use your own biological son as an experiment?"

"What?"

Nissa was shocked. She immediately shook her head repeatedly. "That’s impossible. My father isn’t that kind of person, and I don’t have any brothers."

Wang Bert pointed at the screen and sneered. "That Reaper is the brother you have never met. Grand Duke Damaskinos, am I right?"

Grand Duke Damaskinos stared at Wang Bert in disbelief and asked, "Blood God, how did you know about this?"

"Because I’m the Blood God."

Wang Bert smiled. Nissa angrily demanded, "Father, how could you do something like that?"

Grand Duke Damaskinos shouted, "Why couldn’t I? Everything I did was for the Blood Clan."

"What a high-sounding excuse. I’ve seen plenty of people like you. Every other word is about doing it for the country or the race, but deep down, it’s all for yourselves."

Wang Bert sneered. "The last person who said that to me was General Ross. Do you know what happened to him? Treason, life imprisonment."

Grand Duke Damaskinos roared, "Blood God, enough nonsense. Let me leave, or we’ll die together."

"Today, I’ll let you understand what despair truly is."

Wang Bert raised a hand, and the Reaper in the Secret Laboratory vanished directly, having been placed inside the Mirror Dimension.

That’s right, Wang Bert had learned the Mirror Dimension too.

Seeing the Reaper suddenly disappear, Grand Duke Damaskinos was utterly stunned. He asked in shock and fury, "Blood God, what did you do?"

"You don’t even know what I did, yet you dare threaten me?"

Wang Bert looked disdainful. His figure suddenly vanished, and the next second, he reappeared holding a figure in his hand. It was Grand Duke Damaskinos’s clone.

"The clone’s intelligence is rather lacking. Honestly, I’m very disappointed."

Wang Bert squeezed the clone’s head hard. The clone screamed as it dissolved into blood mist and vanished, leaving only a crimson puppet behind.

"You’re actually this powerful?"

Grand Duke Damaskinos was completely shocked. He knew the Blood God was strong, but he had never imagined that the Blood God would be this strong. Before him, he had no ability to resist at all.

"Blood God, spare me. I can submit to you. Right, I can offer Nissa to you. She is my finest daughter, outstanding in every regard."

Grand Duke Damaskinos knelt and pleaded humbly. He did not want to die. He had lived for countless years and wanted to keep living.

"Father."

Nissa was disappointed beyond measure. Was this still the father she had worshipped since childhood? To save his own life, he was actually offering her to the Blood God.

Grand Duke Damaskinos snapped, "Do you want to watch me die?"

Nissa despaired. She knelt before Wang Bert and said, "Blood God, I am willing to trade myself for my father’s life. Father, from this day onward, I am no longer your daughter."

Wang Bert smiled. "A heartless father raised such a loving and loyal daughter."

"Blood God, spare me."

Grand Duke Damaskinos shouted, "I can tell you an extremely important piece of information."

"I know what you want to say."

Wang Bert glanced at Grand Duke Damaskinos, then turned to Nissa. "I like filial children. Since that’s the case, I’ll give Grand Duke Damaskinos a chance."

Grand Duke Damaskinos was overjoyed. "Thank you, Blood God."

Nissa smiled bitterly. "Thank you, Blood God. From now on, I am yours."

"Don’t thank me so quickly. It’s only a chance."

With a light wave of Wang Bert’s hand, Grand Duke Damaskinos vanished. Nissa asked in astonishment, "Blood God, where is my father?"

"Here!"

Wang Bert swiped his hand, and the situation inside the Mirror Dimension appeared before everyone—the Grand Duke stood face-to-face with the Reaper.

Chad Norman, the Reaper, bared his teeth and said with a smile, "Father, I dreamed of meeting you every night. Today, my wish has finally come true."

Grand Duke Damaskinos cried out in alarm, "How did this happen? Why have you regained your mind?"

"Of course, I helped him recover it."

Wang Bert said, "I said I would give you a chance. As long as you can leave that space alive, I’ll spare you."

Grand Duke Damaskinos shouted in shock and fury, "No, Blood God, you can’t do this."

Wang Bert sneered. "Sorry, I can. Perhaps you can try moving the Reaper with the love between father and son."

Cold Ice and the others burst into laughter. Nissa frowned. "Blood God."

"You have nothing to do with him anymore. From now on, you are mine."

Wang Bert lifted Nissa to her feet with qi and said unquestioningly, "As for Grand Duke Damaskinos, leave him to your brother."

Nissa fell silent, then let out a sigh. Perhaps this was the karma spoken of by Buddhists. "Father, accept your son’s longing for you."

The Reaper grinned viciously and lunged at Grand Duke Damaskinos. Grand Duke Damaskinos roared, "You think I would lose to you? I am a First Generation Blood Clan."

The battle between father and son erupted instantly. Grand Duke Damaskinos was nothing like the frail old man his appearance suggested. He fought the Reaper evenly, which enraged the Reaper, who attacked madly without regard for anything else.

"I told you, you would get burned."

Watching the fierce battle inside the Mirror Dimension, the person in charge sighed. If Grand Duke Damaskinos had not fed the Reaper so many vampires, he would have easily passed this test.

As he watched the fight, Wang Bert asked the person in charge, "How far has the research on the Perfect Blood Clan progressed?"

"About halfway. We’re currently stuck at a bottleneck we can’t break through."

The person in charge said, "The Grand Duke said we need Progenitor’s Blood."

"Progenitor’s Blood?"

Wang Bert’s eyes flashed. "Gather all the materials and prepare to relocate. I’ve arranged a new laboratory for you at Osborn Corporation. In fact, I am also researching the Perfect Blood Clan. The difference is that mine is a legitimate research institute, unlike yours, which clearly looks illegal."

The person in charge was a little embarrassed. He asked curiously, "Blood God, how far has your research progressed?"

Wang Bert said, "Let Dr. Connors tell you."

"Dr. Connors, who developed the Lizard Serum?"

The person in charge was somewhat shocked. He said excitedly, "If I work with him, I will definitely break through the bottleneck and create the Perfect Blood Clan."

"I hope so. You’ll see him shortly."

Wang Bert nodded and ordered, "Start packing up. Cold Ice, help them."

"Alright." Cold Ice and the others nodded.

The person in charge asked in surprise, "Shortly? Dr. Connors is in Europe too?"

Wang Bert did not answer. He focused on watching the battle in the Mirror Dimension. Before long, Grand Duke Damaskinos and the Reaper had determined the victor.

Mutual destruction.

"Father, let’s die together."

The Reaper, who had bitten through Grand Duke Damaskinos’s neck, laughed wildly. Grand Duke Damaskinos clutched his spurting wound and collapsed with disbelief written all over his face—the virus had infected him.

"How could I die here? I still have to create the Perfect Blood Clan. I still have to surpass Dracula. I still have to conquer the world…"

Filled with endless unwillingness, Grand Duke Damaskinos closed his eyes forever. The Reaper’s laughter abruptly stopped as well, marking his death.

Nissa could not help collapsing into Wang Bert’s arms and crying. Wang Bert held her as he waved a hand, scattering a ball of Dragon Fire that burned both Grand Duke Damaskinos and the Reaper into ash.

Nissa was not an ordinary woman after all. She soon regained her composure, stepped out of Wang Bert’s arms, wiped away her tears, and bowed with a resolute expression. "The new Grand Duke, Nissa, pays respects to the Blood God."

"Very good. Go to Europe and help Mercury."

Wang Bert nodded in satisfaction. Nissa was highly capable. If her loyalty proved sound, she could take charge of the Blood Clan’s European branch in the future—not now, but in the future. There would definitely need to be several years of observation.

Originally, Wang Bert had intended that position for Lilith, but Lilith clearly did not want to be president. Moreover, she cared too much about Dracula, which made Wang Bert somewhat uneasy.

It was not as though Wang Bert had failed to investigate Lilith’s background. There were no problems with it, or Mercury would not have recommended her to him in the first place.

"There are still too few Blood Clan talents capable of standing on their own."

Wang Bert shook his head. Their long lives had corrupted many members of the Blood Clan.

After a while, the laboratory had been packed up. Wang Bert directly drew a circle one-handed and opened a portal to Osborn Corporation.

The person in charge’s eyes nearly popped out. "This isn’t scientific. Is this Quantum Teleportation technology?"

"When in doubt, quantum mechanics? Go in. Dr. Connors is waiting for you."

Wang Bert smiled. The person in charge gave an embarrassed smile and hurried eagerly toward Osborn Corporation.

"With Grand Duke Damaskinos’s research results, progress on the Perfect Blood Clan will definitely improve greatly."

Wang Bert thought to himself. More than half the reason he had come personally this time was for these research results. As for the other small part, it was for Nissa.

"The Blood Clan situation in Europe is basically settled. All that’s left is that grand manhunt."

News that the Blood God had personally descended on Romania and killed Grand Duke Damaskinos quickly spread across Europe. The vampires trembled in fear. Countless vampires rushed overnight to the Blood Clan Police Department to line up and register, terrified that if they were too late, the Blood God would wipe them out.

The fleeing vampires were frightened too, but instead of giving up their search for Dracula, they became even more determined. This was their only remaining path. The Blood God would not spare them.

Naturally, the Blood God would not spare those fugitives. He kept sending people after them—vampires as well as human mercenaries. In just a few days, half the fugitives had died.

They had only survived this long thanks to the Hell Lords’ assistance. Otherwise, they would have been wiped out long ago.

Seeing the situation turn unfavorable, the Hell Lords hurriedly sent more reinforcements. Until Dracula was found, these fugitives could not die.

Harry went all out as well, using Norman’s inheritance to hire mercenaries to protect the fugitives. However, the results were poor. After all, his money could not compare with the Blood God’s at all.

"I must become the Hell Spider King as soon as possible. Otherwise, I simply can’t protect these Blood Clan members. Damn it, where exactly is Dracula? Several places in a row have all been wrong."

Harry gritted his teeth inwardly. At that moment, his butler Niels walked over and reminded him, "Young master, Peter Parker’s flight arrives tomorrow morning. Don’t forget."

"How could I forget? He’s my only friend."

Harry smiled. The next morning, he drove his sports car to pick Peter up personally. Things were a little awkward at first, since they had not seen each other for many years, but they were still friends. After only a few words, they found their old rhythm again.

Looking at Gwen, Harry smiled at Peter. "If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I really wouldn’t have imagined that a bookworm like you could get such a great girlfriend."

"You’d never guess that her father is the mayor."

Peter said somewhat proudly. Gwen said irritably, "Aren’t you terrified of him? Now you’re actually bragging about him?"

Peter was a little embarrassed and hurriedly changed the subject. "Harry, thanks for inviting me to Europe."

"Don’t be so polite."

Harry said, "By the way, I heard you’re working at Osborn Corporation now?"

"Yeah, as a junior researcher."

Peter smiled. "Harry, you don’t need to worry about Osborn Corporation. Mr. Wang has developed it splendidly. Uncle Norman must be very pleased watching from heaven."

Harry’s face twitched, and he said somewhat stiffly, "That’s good."

Gwen noticed Harry’s lapse, but did not think much of it—Osborn Corporation was Harry’s family business, after all.

Harry soon returned to normal and said with a smile, "Let’s talk when we get back. I bought a big house in London. I’ll show you around."

Peter said happily, "Alright, let’s see if your taste has changed. By the way, do you still like teddy bears?"

"That was something I liked when I was five, okay?"

Harry said speechlessly. Soon, the group got into Harry’s sports car and headed for his big house.

That night, Peter said gloomily, "I thought Gwen was different from other girls. I didn’t expect her to be so interested in shopping too."

"The easiest money in the world to make is from women and children."

Harry handed Peter a glass of cola and asked, "Do you still love drinking cola as much as you used to?"

"Cola is my life."

Peter smiled as he accepted it. Just as he was about to drink, a sudden sense of discomfort flashed through his heart, and he paused.
