The Place Where the Sun Rises (PK Recommendation Tomorrow, Please Read Ahead)
"That guy…"
Yun Chuan’s bizarre footwork and movements among the samurai had already made the Rain Shinobi who had retreated into the distance feel their scalps tingle. His hands formed seals, yet he had no idea when he should strike.
After all, those samurai were the Lord Daimyo’s personal guards. If he accidentally killed one of them, even Lord Hanzo would have a hard time shielding him.
But just as he made up his mind to kill Yun Chuan even if it meant injuring those samurai, the battle was already over.
"Too fast! I couldn’t make out that brat’s movements or position at all!" the Rain Shinobi cursed under his breath.
He had heard that the great nations had a course called "Battlefield Rescue Training," where they studied human muscle groups, bones, and internal organs.
But people learned that to save lives.
That brat, however…
He was using it to dissect his opponents!
Even in Amegakure, where Assassination Arts were common, even among Rain Shinobi skilled in poison, he had never seen such cruel methods!
Samurai clad in Layered Armor and Gas Masks, with tremendous explosive strength, were troublesome opponents even for Rain Shinobi.
Yet before that guy, they were like fish packed inside iron cans, left to be carved up at will.
Before the Rain Shinobi could say anything, Yun Chuan turned his gaze toward him.
That single movement made him feel as though he faced a great enemy. His expression turned exceptionally grim as he warily watched Yun Chuan.
"Why so serious?"
Yun Chuan looked at him with a faint smile. "Tell me, why do you think your head is still on your neck?"
The Rain Shinobi’s breath caught, and then his blood surged to his head.
That damned brat…
"This is the Land of Rain! This is Amegakure!"
The Rain Shinobi’s expression darkened as he suppressed his fear and rage. "What is your purpose…?"
His tone and demeanor perfectly embodied the phrase "fierce on the outside, weak within."
"I don’t much like your attitude."
Looking at the Rain Shinobi’s pained face so close before him, Yun Chuan smiled unconcernedly. "Still, I’ll leave your life in Hanzo’s care for now."
"Go tell Hanzo and Ishibi that those dead men were merely a little interest collected."
The Rain Shinobi’s eyes flickered.
What did that mean?
Ishibi… no, Lord Daimyo and Lord Hanzo had a personal grudge against this brat?
As he pondered, his gaze left Yun Chuan for an instant.
In that instant, the hem of clothing in his vision was lifted by the wind like black wings, suddenly sweeping toward the Rain Shinobi!
Crack!!
The Rain Shinobi’s knees slammed hard into the ground with an incredibly crisp sound of bones breaking. He cleanly shut his eyes and passed out.
"This is part of the interest too."
Rain slid down Yun Chuan’s calm cheek and dripped onto the hand he had gathered into a blade.
Those lowered deep-blue eyes were even more profound than the gloomy sky behind him.
If a Ninja’s assassination relied on ninjutsu and Ninja tools, then his relied on near-divine skill.
With the combined abilities of Shiki Nanaya and the Bullseye Template, he understood the human body’s muscle groups, bones, and internal organs perfectly. He knew which vital points could instantly paralyze, shock, or kill someone.
Many vital points were obscure and overlooked.
Vital points like the brain, heart, throat, and neck were common knowledge, but Yun Chuan could find dozens more strange and unusual vital points on the human body…
And he had ways to strike those "weaknesses."
The Adamantium Skeleton’s actual effects were even better than Yun Chuan had expected. He estimated that, with his current abilities, he was already comparable to a Special Jonin of Konoha.
Assassination Arts, throwing techniques, physical strength, recovery ability…
Beneath that harmless appearance was a deadly weapon.
"But this alone still isn’t enough."
Yun Chuan sighed and thought, If I encounter Ninja proficient in Chakra shape transformation and nature transformation, or those who possess Sealing Techniques and bizarre secret arts, I’ll still be put at a serious disadvantage.
Like a certain snake-lover and a certain toad-lover. Their bizarre ninjutsu was each more outrageous than the last.
He needed to obtain more practical "Templates" from those with special abilities.
As it happened, if he remembered correctly, an opportunity like that would come soon.
Yun Chuan’s eyes flashed, and his figure suddenly appeared behind the girl.
"My name is Tsukimiri Yun Chuan. You can call me Brother Yun Chuan."
Yun Chuan placed a hand on her messy hair and said gently, "What’s your name?"
"…" Feeling the warmth from above her head, the girl froze for a moment before coming back to herself. She shook her head. "I don’t have a name, but my little brother is called Crucian Carp."
Hearing that awful name, Yun Chuan’s eye twitched.
"Looks like I have to name them again?"
Still, he seemed to be getting used to it. After thinking for a moment, he blinked and said, "Then… from now on, you’ll be Jiyun, and your little brother will be Jiyu."
"Tsukimiri Jiyun, Tsukimiri Jiyu. How does that sound?"
"Ji" originally meant that rain had stopped; specifically, that snow had stopped and the sky had cleared.
Though she could not discern Yun Chuan’s deeper meaning, the girl nodded without hesitation, then gently pressed down on the boy’s head as well.
Seeing that, Yun Chuan’s smile deepened.
What was the point of Hanzo finding cannon fodder?
If you wanted to rebel, you had to start with the children!
"Let’s go!"
Yun Chuan patted Jiyun’s head and walked away with light steps.
Behind him, Jiyun watched his retreating back. Ignoring the blood at the corner of her mouth, she grabbed a piece of bread and stuffed it into her mouth, looking as though she were eating raw human flesh.
Having recovered a little strength, she felt through the Rain Shinobi’s clothes in full view of everyone and stripped him completely naked.
"Let’s go, Crucian… Jiyu."
Jiyun stuffed all those things into her clothes, then copied Yun Chuan and patted her little brother’s head. "Big Sister will take you to live a good life with him."
In the distance, when Yun Chuan saw the dazed Yahiko, his previously good mood suddenly soured a little.
This brat… was still too green.
Smack!
"What are you standing around for?"
Yun Chuan smacked the back of his head hard, making him bare his teeth in pain. Pointing at the mutilated corpses in the distance, Yun Chuan sneered, "Or do you want to stay with those guys?"
He then looked at Konan beside him and muttered as though consoling himself, "Consider it a buy-one-get-one deal!"
Konan’s hearing was quite good. Her face reddened at once, and she hurried after him at a trot, even forgetting to call Yahiko along.
"Tsk… damn it!"
Yahiko rubbed his head and frowned. Looking at the bloody scene in the distance, he shuddered and hurriedly said, "Wait! Don’t leave me behind! Brother Yun… Brother Yun Chuan!"
The surrounding refugees moved aside in fear and envy, clearing a path from afar as they watched them leave.
The refugees feared Yun Chuan’s methods, yet envied Yahiko and the others for being able to rely on him.
Perhaps, in their eyes, Jiyun was fortunate because she was merely a "stray dog."
A "mad dog" who, so that she and her little brother could survive, could sell her body to others and even sell her soul to a demon.
But from beginning to end, they had never considered this.
Those content to remain weak and unwilling to strive on their own, who only prayed for someone to save them like plants waiting for rain from the heavens, who only wished to beg the strong for charity, simply did not deserve sympathy.
But once a stray dog bit its prey, it would never let go, not even in death.
"By the way, Brother, where are we going?"
"You’re only thinking to ask now? And could you call me something else?"
"Okay, Brother."
"…"
"Konan, that guy seems kind of airheaded."
"Yahiko! Don’t suddenly get so close!"
"Eh? I’ve always been like this!"
Before the refugees’ eyes, the figures of the group were gradually swallowed by the curtain of rain until they finally vanished.
Only then did Yun Chuan’s nearly inaudible voice drift back from afar.
"I’m taking you to see the place where the sun rises."
