The Spaceship in the Basement (Please Add to Favorites)

"Oh, god, I hope they were all right."

The compassionate Parker Couple expressed concern over the accident reported in the breaking news and prayed that everyone would escape danger safely.

However, Peter Parker, sitting in the back seat, felt as though someone had dealt him a vicious blow to the head.

He did not care in the slightest how many casualties this sudden accident had caused. Only one sentence echoed relentlessly through his mind: "A Mysterious Person used Webbing to avert the crisis."

Peter had never expected that while he was still planning how to obtain Spider-Man’s abilities next time—

Someone else had already beaten him to it and successfully awakened Spider-Man’s extraordinary powers.

They had even displayed those formidable abilities before the world, announcing Spider-Man’s birth.

Without question, after today, the name Spider-Man would sweep across all of New York City, perhaps even the entire world.

And none of it had anything to do with him, Peter Parker.

At that moment, Peter felt like a rich second-generation heir about to inherit billions, only to discover at the most crucial moment that he was not biologically related to the family.

Not only had the billions he was about to inherit gone up in smoke—

He was even about to be thrown out into the streets to beg.

Such an enormous fall from grace was something almost no one could accept.

And because of that, even after the Parker Couple had driven to their destination, Peter still could not fully accept the devastating news.

"Peter, we’re here."

Ben Parker did not notice the intense disappointment in Peter’s heart.

After parking in front of a farm, he called to Peter in the back seat and opened the car door.

Only then did Peter, still immersed in his disappointment, finally come back to his senses. He steadied himself and got out of the car with them.

Temporarily setting aside the fact that he could not become Spider-Man, Peter looked at the enormous farm before him. It appeared somewhat desolate; weeds nearly a meter tall had grown across the once-level ground.

Still, it possessed a beauty all its own.

Whenever a breeze passed through, the grass rippled like the ocean, sending waves of emerald green rolling outward.

"Well, even if I can’t become Spider-Man in the future, I can at least become a farmer."

If possible, who would not want to be the cool and heroic Spider-Man?

"Parker Farm was the only property this body’s parents had left him."

As memories of the farm surfaced in his mind, Peter found it somewhat strange.

He did not remember a farm like this ever appearing in the Spider-Man movies.

"It’s been a whole year since we last came here. It’s gotten so overgrown. Looks like we’ll be busy for the next few days."

Looking at the weed-choked farm before him, Ben Parker could not help rubbing his old, increasingly inflexible lower back.

Hearing Ben Parker’s complaint, Aunt May rolled her eyes at him before saying to Peter, "Peter, let’s go inside first."

Ben smiled and shook his head, then slowly followed them into the farm.

"This farm is really huge. Even out in the suburbs, a place this large should be worth quite a bit, right? Who said Peter Parker was some poor kid? He was clearly a future farm owner."

Only after walking into the farm could Peter truly appreciate its sheer size.

Just walking from the entrance to the house took quite a while.

Several simple wooden houses stood on the farm.

It had been a full year since they had last come here.

The buildings they had cleaned up a year ago were now covered in another thick layer of dust.

Uncle Ben pointed at a small wooden house at the far edge and said to Peter, "Peter, May and I will handle the other rooms. You can clean up that storage shed. No problem, right?"

Peter did not answer. He simply walked toward the wooden house.

"Ben, we can handle these things. Why make Peter do it?"

Aunt May watched Peter leave, her eyes full of affection.

Uncle Ben smiled and replied, "May, he’s grown up. It’s time for him to become independent like a man."

"As far as I’m concerned, he’ll always be a child."

Meanwhile, Peter had already arrived at the small storage shed.

It was only a storage shed to clean up, so naturally, he had nothing to complain about.

But when he entered and saw the piles of miscellaneous junk with no apparent use, all coated in a thick layer of dust, he still felt a hint of despair.

"This will take the entire afternoon to sort out! I haven’t even eaten lunch yet!"

Peter could not help roaring inwardly.

In the end, he could only silently begin sorting through the clutter.

Fortunately, Uncle Ben was not an evil capitalist.

An hour later, he came to call Peter in for the lunch Aunt May had made.

Of course, after eating, Peter had to return and continue cleaning the storage shed.

And so, Peter spent nearly the entire afternoon organizing the shed.

He cleaned the materials and equipment whose purposes he did not know, then sorted and arranged them properly.

Gradually, the once-chaotic shed became neat and orderly.

As he cleaned, his memories of the farm gradually became clearer, including his memories of this storage shed.

He remembered that this body’s parents had warned him not to play here when he was little.

Thinking about it now, it seemed as though something had been hidden here.

"Could there be a hidden Bio-Lab here?"

Given that this body’s parents had been biological genetic scientists, Peter felt that there really might be a Bio-Lab hidden here.

"Hey, even if there really is a laboratory, what use would it be to me now?"

"Would I use it to conduct genetic modification experiments on myself? If I can’t be Spider-Man, should I become Fly-Man or Cockroach-Man instead?"

At that thought, Peter shook his head, cast aside those unrealistic ideas, and continued cleaning the shed.

Peter dropped onto the floor. "It’s finally almost over. I’m exhausted."

After spending nearly the entire afternoon on it, Peter was finally close to finishing the storage shed.

Only a pile of metal objects of unknown purpose remained in the corner.

"Whoa, these are heavy!"

As he lifted the metal objects from the corner one by one, Peter felt as though his back was about to break.

"Hm? Is this… a basement?"

After moving away the pile of mysterious metal objects, Peter really did discover something unusual.

Perhaps because the place had fallen into disrepair over the years, combined with the excessive weight of those metal objects—

The wooden floor beneath them had been crushed, revealing a hole.

Peter could not help lying on the floor and peering through the opening. He could vaguely make out a staircase leading deeper underground, but it was pitch-black down there, and he could not see what lay within.

"So it really is a mysterious basement. Could my parents have left it behind?"

At that moment, Peter could not help feeling curious.

After all, this body’s parents had been murdered because of their scientific research results.

"Whatever. I’ll go down and take a look first."

Peter did not believe that this suddenly discovered basement could pose any danger to him.

This was not tomb raiding, after all. Where would there be so many traps and dangers?

He immediately found a flashlight and used a hammer to widen the hole until it was large enough for him to climb through.

Then he carefully descended.

Going down the stairs step by step, Peter’s feet soon touched solid ground.

Using the flashlight’s beam, he continued slowly deeper inside.

"What is that? A dinosaur egg?"

As Peter cautiously ventured farther in, he discovered that there was no laboratory at the end of the basement. Instead, there was an oval-shaped "giant egg."

But only when he got closer did he finally confirm it.

"No, this isn’t an egg. It seems to be… a spaceship!"
