There Is No Absolutely Correct Path
"Can you really provide the research data for spatial wormhole jump technology?"
Tony could hardly believe what Lex had said.
He knew exactly how important that was to a civilization.
Even if it was not the most advanced wormhole jump technology, it could still help them avoid countless detours.
"Although Blue Star and Mogri are not allies, you and I are both brethren of the Void Cult."
"And you have made contributions to the Void Cult that cannot be ignored. Of course I can help with something this small."
Lex said with a smile.
"What are your conditions?"
After hearing Lex’s words, Tony hesitated for a moment before asking.
"As for conditions, I hope Mogri and Blue Star will not become enemies in the future."
"You wouldn’t want to see us slaughtering each other either, would you?"
Lex knew that if he claimed there were no conditions at all, Tony would never dare accept. So he stated the simplest condition possible.
"Of course I don’t want to see that happen either, but your condition is far too simple."
"Even if we are brethren, some things still need to be made clear. So let me add a few conditions myself."
"If Mogri’s research data can help me overcome this hurdle and develop spatial wormhole technology—"
"Then if I develop spatial wormhole technology more advanced than yours in the future, I will share it with you as well."
"However, that will be limited to spatial wormhole technology."
Tony spoke up proactively.
The greatest problem he faced now was that he could not fully decipher the theoretical knowledge behind spatial wormhole technology and calculate and build it from scratch.
Without sufficient theories and knowledge to support it, completing that research would require an enormous amount of time and funding before success was even possible.
If Lex could help him overcome this obstacle directly, Tony was confident that he could develop the most advanced spatial wormhole technology.
The first source of that confidence was his faith in his own intellect, while the second was that he had joined the Void Cult and had ample time for research.
"Alright. Then I’ll look forward to your technological achievements."
Hearing Tony’s proposed terms, Lex said with a smile.
When he saw the gravity device Tony had developed, he knew Tony was undoubtedly a talented man.
Such talent would be extremely beneficial to the Void Cult, so Lex had always wanted to lend Tony a hand. That would also be helping the Void Cult.
After settling the matter, Tony and Lex chatted until noon.
Lex still had people he wanted to see on the island, so he said goodbye and left first.
Tony did not try to keep him, but he did say Lex was welcome to come visit him again sometime.
Lex had a rather forceful personality, but his enthusiasm for the Void Cult made Tony’s time with him quite pleasant.
"By the way, Lalatina, how did you meet him?"
After Lex left, Tony knew the New Year Pilgrimage was tomorrow, so he decided to give himself two days off and asked casually.
"I was woken up by the engines of fighter jets and warships this morning. Then I went over to see what was happening and met him."
"When we first met, Lord Lex seemed rather frightening."
"But after getting to know him, I realized Lord Lex is a good person too."
Lalatina said with a smile.
"His kindness only extends to his brethren in the Void Cult."
"To his enemies, someone with Lex’s personality will probably become a nightmare."
After learning how Lalatina had met Lex and hearing her assessment, Tony’s gaze flickered as he spoke.
He did not deny that getting along with Lex had been quite pleasant, because Lex had treated him very warmly.
But Tony would not overlook the danger contained within Lex’s ideals and strength.
Lex hoped to spread the greatness of the Void Cult throughout the universe, and he possessed an extraordinarily fanatical faith and drive to act.
In the future, Harvey would probably need to step in and think of a way to keep Lex in check.
Otherwise, if Lex were allowed to act freely, a fanatic like him could easily bring about some terrifying disasters.
"Isn’t that a good thing?"
Hearing Mr. Tony’s assessment, Lalatina looked somewhat confused.
"I didn’t say it wasn’t, did I?"
"Tomorrow is the New Year Pilgrimage. I’m giving you the day off."
"You and Miss Sarah should go experience the New Year Pilgrimage together."
Tony did not reveal what he was thinking. Instead, he changed the subject and spoke with a smile.
"Alright, thank you, Mr. Tony."
Lalatina could tell that Mr. Tony had changed the subject, so she did not press him further.
Summit Villa.
"Lex has changed quite a bit."
Watching Lex’s attitude and behavior toward the other people on the island, Harvey fell into thought.
"Mr. Lex has grown much larger than before."
"Do you know why that is, Mr. Kassadin?"
Through surveillance footage from several locations around the island, Sonia had also learned that Lex had returned and asked curiously.
"There are countless directions for evolution. Altering one’s body size is naturally one possible path."
This was the first time Harvey had seen Lex in several years, since Mogri.
He remembered that Lex had initially been no more than two and a half meters tall.
But now he was closing in on three and a half meters. Clearly, after evolving more than three hundred times, Lex had also evolved his body size.
"You can alter your body size?"
"Anywhere?"
After hearing Mr. Kassadin’s words, Sonia’s eyes flickered as she asked with particular interest.
"Why do I feel like there’s something more behind that question?"
Hearing Sonia’s words, Harvey glanced at her.
"No, I was just curious."
Sonia hurriedly waved her hands and defended herself.
"Without mastering Void magic, being too large is not a good thing."
Seeing Sonia’s reaction, Harvey did not pursue the matter and merely gave her a reminder.
"Is Void magic an advanced application of Void Power?"
This was Sonia’s first time hearing about Void magic, and after thinking for a moment, she asked.
"Yes. Void magic can grant all kinds of abilities."
"Transformation is naturally possible as well."
"Even the flying technique you created, Sky Skimming, can be regarded as a type of Void magic."
Harvey nodded and spoke.
"If it can grant all kinds of abilities, does that mean evolving Void Power is better than evolving the body?"
After hearing Mr. Kassadin say that Void Power could be used to gain all kinds of abilities, Sonia pondered the matter.
"There are countless paths of evolution. No path is absolutely correct; it depends on what kind of power you truly desire."
Harvey’s eyes flickered as he spoke.
