Thirst-Wasting Disease, Creating an Opportunity
Jing Tian asked in confusion, "Hey, yours and mine seem like they’re a pair."
"Pah! Shameless idiot, they’re obviously not a pair." Tang Xuejian lied without so much as a blush.
Jing Tian did not pay it much mind. "Really? But they do look quite similar."
As he spoke, Jing Tian looked at Su Yu and clasped his hands. "Brother, many thanks. My name is Jing Tian. And you are?"
"Brother Jing, I’ve long admired you. Brother Jing truly looks handsome and dashing, with an extraordinary bearing. My name is Su Yu." Su Yu smiled and returned the gesture.
Jing Tian also smiled as he clasped his hands. "So it’s Brother Su. I’ve long admired you. Brother Su is no less impressive—a modest gentleman, gentle as jade."
"I’ve long admired you."
The two of them smiled and said "I’ve long admired you" once more. Tang Xuejian looked speechless. "Did you two know each other before?"
"No, but when I met Brother Su, it truly felt like we hit it off at first sight and regretted not meeting sooner!" Jing Tian said with a laugh.
Tang Xuejian rolled her eyes at Jing Tian. "You don’t even know each other, so what the hell do you mean by ‘long admired’?"
"You wouldn’t understand. I feel like Brother Jing and I knew each other in our past lives, so there’s nothing wrong with saying it." Su Yu laughed as he spouted nonsense.
Tang Xuejian gave a dry laugh, then turned and left. She had no desire to keep staying with those two idiots.
After Tang Xuejian left, Su Yu and Jing Tian began chatting about all sorts of things. Su Yu had liked Jing Tian very much when he watched Immortal Sword Three, so now that he had met him, he naturally wanted to talk with him more.
After Tang Xuejian returned to Tang Mansion, just like in the original story, she accidentally broke a relic left behind by Tang Kun’s son. Panicked, Tang Xuejian immediately left Tang Mansion to look for Su Yu. Ever since Su Yu came to Tang Mansion, whenever Tang Xuejian had even the slightest problem, she would usually seek him out, and Su Yu was always able to help her solve it.
After leaving Tang Mansion, Tang Xuejian returned to the street from before, but Su Yu and Jing Tian had long since left. Who would stupidly wait around there? Tang Xuejian immediately asked the nearby vendors.
Quite a few people knew Jing Tian. They told Tang Xuejian that Jing Tian lived at Yong’an Pawnshop, though they could not be certain whether he was there at the moment.
Tang Xuejian did not care about that. She would know once she went to take a look. She immediately hurried toward Yong’an Pawnshop.
Yong’an Pawnshop
Su Yu and Jing Tian were chatting and laughing over tea when Tang Xuejian rushed over, grabbed Su Yu’s arm, and said, "Uncle, it’s over. I got into trouble. You have to help me."
"Don’t panic. What bad thing did you do this time? Tell me first." Su Yu said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.
Tang Xuejian immediately told Su Yu what had happened. Su Yu smiled and pointed at Jing Tian. "Xue Jian, you should ask Brother Jing for help with this. Brother Jing’s skill at making porcelain is the best in the world. You can trouble Brother Jing to make an identical one for you to put back."
Jing Tian smiled and clasped his hands. "Brother Su, you flatter me. It’s only a trivial matter, not worth mentioning."
Tang Xuejian rolled her eyes at Jing Tian. Was "a trivial matter, not worth mentioning" supposed to be used here???
"Uncle, can he really do it?" Tang Xuejian asked distrustfully.
Jing Tian immediately said, "Take out the ‘can.’ My skill at making counterfeit goods—pah, porcelain—may not be the best in the world, but if I say I’m second, no one would dare call themselves first!"
"Fine, then. Take a look at this. Can you make me an identical one?" As she spoke, Tang Xuejian handed the porcelain vessel to Jing Tian.
Jing Tian took a look and said without hesitation, "It couldn’t be easier. Don’t worry, I’ll have it done within three days."
"Alright, hurry up. If my grandfather finds out, I’ll be finished." Tang Xuejian said.
Jing Tian smiled and nodded. "Don’t worry. For Brother Su’s sake, I’ll get it done as quickly as possible. Just come pick it up then."
"Mm. Uncle, I’ll head back first." With that, Tang Xuejian left, while Jing Tian and Su Yu continued chatting nonsense.
Three days later
Su Yu had originally planned to teach Tang Xuejian the qin at Tang Mansion that day, but because Tang Xuejian needed to go to Yong’an Pawnshop to retrieve the porcelain vessel, the two found an excuse to slip out.
As for Meng Qi, that kid had become addicted to cultivation. Every day, he was either cultivating or studying qin techniques. He had achieved some success by now; at the very least, among the Shu Mountain Disciples, his strength was already nearly on par with Xu Changqing’s.
Yong’an Pawnshop
The moment Su Yu and Jing Tian met, they began chatting with broad smiles. Tang Xuejian said anxiously, "Can you two stop talking? Where’s my porcelain vessel?"
As she spoke, Tang Xuejian looked toward Jing Tian. Jing Tian immediately went to fetch the porcelain vessel, then casually handed it to Tang Xuejian. "Take it, take it. Don’t interrupt my heart-to-heart talk with Su Yu."
Tang Xuejian rolled her eyes at Jing Tian. "You two can keep talking here."
After saying that, Tang Xuejian turned and left. Once outside Yong’an Pawnshop, Tang Xuejian looked at the porcelain vessel in her hands and murmured, "It really is exactly the same. This guy’s craftsmanship is pretty good."
Inside Yong’an Pawnshop, Jing Tian looked at Su Yu and said, "Big Brother, I’ve heard a lot of people praise your qin skills lately. Could you play a piece for your little brother here?"
Just moments ago, Jing Tian had forcibly sworn brotherhood with Su Yu, and Su Yu had somehow gained a little brother.
"Of course." Su Yu smiled as he placed the Taigu Yiyin Qin on the table, then began playing the Origin Nurturing Heart Calming Melody.
When the piece ended, Jing Tian shouted, "Good! Big Brother, so you’re actually this amazing!"
"Hehe, it’s nothing, nothing. Just a little trick." Su Yu said with a smile.
A few days later
Tang Kun suddenly came down with thirst-wasting disease. Tang Xuejian learned that it could only be cured with Hundred Flowers Dew collected at the foot of Shu Mountain. Disregarding her own safety, Tang Xuejian went alone late at night to gather it.
But as soon as she arrived at the foot of Shu Mountain, she heard two people talking. Their voices sounded extremely familiar, so she headed toward the source.
Before long, Tang Xuejian saw Su Yu and Jing Tian. She called out in confusion, "Uncle, why are you here?"
"Xue Jian? Xiao Tian and I came to wait for a meteor shower. What about you? Why did you come here?" Su Yu asked. Though he already knew why Tang Xuejian had come, he still had to ask.
Tang Xuejian sighed. "Grandfather has thirst-wasting disease. It can only be treated with Hundred Flowers Dew from here. I came to collect it."
"Uncle Tang actually has thirst-wasting disease? Xue Jian, just wait here. I’ll gather the Hundred Flowers Dew." Su Yu immediately said.
Tang Xuejian immediately shook her head. "No, no. Uncle, I can’t trouble you with this. I can do it myself."
Su Yu smiled and walked up to Tang Xuejian. He snatched the bottle she had prepared from her hand and said, "No more arguing. Leave this to me. Gathering Hundred Flowers Dew isn’t particularly difficult, but it’s exhausting. Just stay here. I won’t take long to finish collecting it."
As he spoke, Su Yu ran off directly, not even giving Tang Xuejian a chance to respond.
Su Yu had left because he wanted to give Jing Tian and Tang Xuejian some time alone together. Because of his appearance, their relationship was actually not as good as it had been in the original story. As someone who loved the original, how could Su Yu allow the two of them to end up not being together? Thus, he began creating opportunities for them.
Sorry for not updating yesterday. Here’s what happened: last night, I was lying in bed writing when I started feeling a little comfortable. I closed my eyes, and when I opened them again, it was somehow already the next day… (﹏)
