This World, I Will Correct It

Peter repeatedly cursed himself in his heart before flying straight to S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters.

Hovering high in the air, he swept his gaze across the building and saw everyone inside below with perfect clarity.

"Ha-ha…" He laughed bitterly, tears streaming down his face.

"This place is really damn interesting!"

"Most of the huge S.H.I.E.L.D. is actually Hydra!"

What especially enraged him was that he had learned from John Garrett’s mind that Uncle Ben had never committed suicide. He had been killed by them. As for the so-called surveillance footage, it had been completely fabricated with special-effects technology. They had simply taken advantage of Peter’s ignorance of technology!

"Ha-ha… Peter Parker, you really are one damn stupid dog!"

Blood tears dripped from Peter’s eyes as he aimed at Garrett’s office and slammed a heavy punch down.

"Go to hell!"

"You bastard!"

Inside the office, Director Garrett had already received the news that Thomas had been killed. This surprised him greatly. Based on what he knew of Peter, even if Peter captured a member of Hydra, he would definitely send him to S.H.I.E.L.D. for a lawful trial, or hope to use the opportunity to clear Ben Parker’s name. He would never resort to vigilante justice directly.

So he felt somewhat uneasy, but his habitual way of thinking had prevented him from ever suspecting that Peter would come after him. After all, he was the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., a public official.

What courage could Peter possibly have?

And then he died.

When Peter’s fist came crashing down, Garrett—a mere weakling at the Current Drive level—could not even activate his armor’s defenses. He had no power to resist and was instantly reduced to ashes.

Still burning with rage, Peter slaughtered his way down from the upper floors. Whenever he saw someone, he first read their mind. If they were Hydra, he did not waste a single word on them and killed them all.

But very soon, he encountered a tough opponent!

A suit of armor shot out like lightning and kicked him out of the S.H.I.E.L.D. building. If its wearer had not feared that fighting here would level the entire building, that one strike would have killed him outright.

Even so, when Peter’s Protective Astral Energy shattered, it still dealt devastating damage to the surrounding area.

Peter spat out a mouthful of blood. Instead, he felt that the pain in his flesh made the torment in his heart easier to bear. Laughing wildly, he rose to his feet in midair and tried to read the mind of the person inside the armor, but failed.

"John Garrett is Hydra. Did you know that? Most of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents down there are Hydra. Did you know that?"

The armor’s faceplate opened, revealing Grant Ward’s face.

"So what?"

"What does it matter?"

"Look, Peter. All these years, the peace of the world has been maintained by us, Hydra."

"The world hasn’t descended into chaos because of it. It’s only developed better and better!"

"Cut off one head, and two more will grow in its place."

"Hydra is the future of the world!"

"Peter, don’t be so stubborn. Join us!"

"Don’t worry about what happened today. We can erase every trace."

There were indeed many Magnetic Field Warriors in the world today, but very few could surpass Magnetic Field Rotation’s First Heaven. Those who could exceed Magnetic Field Rotation’s Tenth Heaven were rarer still. Peter, however, had clearly reached the Twenty-Five Heavens.

Even within Hydra, that made him an exceedingly rare genius.

Although Ward’s adoptive father, Director Garrett, had been killed by Peter, the feelings between father and son had never been particularly strong. If he could obtain a method for rapid advancement from Peter, Ward would not mind giving up his grudge over his father’s death.

"Heh-heh… Ha-ha…" Peter covered his face with one hand, laughing as blood tears gushed from his eyes.

"Hydra maintains world peace… Ha-ha…"

Ward’s words were the biggest joke of the year, but they also happened to be the truth. Under Hydra’s protection, the world had developed quite well. Whether S.H.I.E.L.D. existed or not, there did not seem to be much difference.

Peter’s already tottering worldview collapsed yet again.

What was black and white, what was good and evil, what was right and wrong… everything he had believed in since childhood was utterly destroyed in this short span of time.

"Fuck your mother!"

Peter roared and shot forward, slamming a heavy palm strike at Ward.

Ward smiled contemptuously, put on his faceplate, and decided to take Peter down first.

Their palms collided. A shock wave exploded in all directions, shattering the glass of every nearby building. Those closest to them were even shaken until their structures began to collapse.

Peter had originally thought that the Strong Magnetic Armor Ward wore was still the same Twenty Heavens armor as before. But the moment they exchanged blows, he felt an enormous force surge toward him, directly shattering his right arm and sending his entire body flying far away—more than ten miles.

He immediately understood that Ward was wearing armor of an even higher level. His heart sank, and he instantly concluded that his former idol, Tony Stark, was also a member of Hydra. Otherwise, such advanced armor could never have been made available to outsiders.

A flash of white light appeared, and a white suit of armor emerged at the edge of the battlefield, standing beside Ward. Peter recognized it at a glance: Shuri’s White Panther Armor. Although he did not know whether Shuri was Hydra, he did know that she had been personally recruited by Grant Ward.

Without saying a word, Peter turned and fled.

He had to find reinforcements!

Ward was worried that Peter would expose everything in front of Shuri, so he did not pursue him. Instead, he stayed behind to deceive Shuri.

Peter urged his right arm to regenerate while heading toward the New White House.

The two locations were not far apart. He arrived in an instant at supersonic speed.

Inside the White House, President Rogers was meeting with guests. He suddenly heard distant thunder rumbling, and then saw Peter appear outside the window.

Steve was taken aback. He first smiled and apologized to the guests, then stood and waved at Peter outside, signaling for him to wait next door. He would join him shortly.

Seeing the warm smile of his idol, Peter felt slightly comforted. But on instinct, he read Steve’s mind, and the half-smile that had just appeared on his face twisted horribly.

"Heh-heh… Hh… Ha-ha…"

His gaze continued sweeping to the side.

The guests were Hydra.

The bodyguards were also Hydra.

The White House officials were Hydra as well.

He unleashed his Magnetic Field Force and scanned the entire White House. Then he discovered sorrowfully that only a few insignificant people, such as cleaners and interns, were not Hydra.

Everyone else was damn well Hydra!

To hell with the White House. This was clearly a snake’s nest!

Blood tears flowed from Peter’s eyes. He stretched his mouth into a huge smile, ripping his lips apart all the way to his ears.

"Ha-ha… This world… is damn rotten to the core!"

"This world is a mistake!"

"Since that’s the case, I’ll be the one to correct this mistake!"

He smashed through the glass, leaped forward, and slammed a heavy palm strike down at Captain America’s head.

"To hell with the President of the United States!"

"To hell with Captain America!!"

"All of you can go to hell!!!"
