Trap
Although he sensed something was wrong, Wang Bert had no intention of letting Knull go. He pulled with both hands, and the void surged toward him.
Even the void was dragged over by Wang Bert, let alone the symbiotes. They fled in terror, but the farther they ran, the closer they got to Wang Bert.
Then, Wang Bert opened his mouth and spewed Dragon Fire that blanketed the sky, engulfing every symbiote.
The Dragon Fire was ferocious beyond compare. Most of the symbiotes were burned to ash, leaving only one still struggling. Wang Bert reached out through the air and grabbed it, saying coldly, "Knull, you’re so weak."
Knull roared, "Blood God, don’t get cocky. My true body won’t let you off."
"It’s me who won’t let Him off. I already gave you a chance, but sadly, you didn’t know how to cherish it."
Wang Bert snorted and used Knull’s body tissue to sense Knull’s true body. A moment later, he opened a portal and arrived in an unknown star field.
There was no sun in this star field, making it somewhat dim. Wang Bert looked up to see a moon-sized planet ahead of him. It was utterly desolate, with nothing on it.
Of course, that was only on the surface. With Wang Bert’s eyesight, he could see that the planet was densely covered in symbiotes—they formed the planet’s surface.
Wang Bert shouted with his psychic power, "Knull, I’m here. Get the hell out here already!"
With Wang Bert’s shout, the entire Symbiote Planet began shaking violently as if struck by an earthquake. Then, countless symbiotes merged together, forming a long-haired Skinny.
The long-haired Skinny raised his head and roared at Wang Bert in space, "Blood God, you’re nothing but an upstart, yet you dare come looking for trouble with me? Not only will I devour you, I’ll devour your Earth too!"
Wang Bert could not be bothered with nonsense. With a wave of his hand, the dazzling Spear of God appeared in his grasp. It grew larger and brighter, and in the blink of an eye, it was already over ten thousand meters long, shining as brilliantly as a small sun.
Knull "pretended to be shocked." Countless symbiotes transformed into a shield, blocking the sky above the planet.
"Knull, die!"
Wang Bert shouted and hurled the Spear of God with all his strength. Knull looked grave on the surface, but inwardly he was overjoyed. Blood God was even more foolish than he had imagined.
At that moment, the Spear of God abruptly turned into fireworks and bloomed in the air. Then, Wang Bert smiled and said, "Surprise!"
"What?"
Knull was dumbfounded. He shouted angrily, "Blood God, what do you mean?"
"Knull, do you think I’m as stupid as you?"
Wang Bert sneered. "You were obviously trying to lure me into attacking. That’s why, even though you knew you were no match for me, you still sent the Symbiote Dragon to attack me.
"On one hand, you wanted to draw my hatred. On the other, you wanted to leave behind your body tissue and lure me here.
"If I’m not mistaken, your goal was to make me destroy this planet, right?"
Knull said disdainfully, "This planet is mine. Why would I lure you here to destroy it?"
"Yours? What a joke. This planet is your prison. You were sealed inside this planet, weren’t you?"
Wang Bert sneered. "Knull, I may be domineering, but I’m not stupid. Don’t think I’m easy to fool just because I’m young.
"Hmph. You’ve lived for so long. If you hadn’t been sealed away, how could you possibly have no reputation at all?"
"Damn it."
Knull cursed. The symbiote shield in the sky quickly broke apart and fell with crackling thuds like rain.
"Blood God, I underestimated you."
Then Knull said, "Let’s make a deal. Release me, and I’ll give you an enormous benefit."
Wang Bert asked, "What benefit? Tell me first. If it’s valuable enough, letting you out isn’t impossible. However, you must promise never to enter the Milky Way Galaxy for all eternity."
"Fine. The universe is so vast. A mere Milky Way Galaxy means nothing."
Knull said, "Have you heard of the God Butcher?"
Wang Bert answered bluntly, "No."
Knull was speechless. He said, "Gorr the God Butcher is a slaughterer who deeply hates gods. He has been hunting gods throughout the universe, and the reason he can kill them is because he possesses the Necrosword."
Wang Bert asked, "The Necrosword?"
"Yes, the Necrosword. That sword originally belonged to me. I forged it specifically to deal with the Celestial Group. In fact, it can be considered the first symbiote."
Knull nodded and said, "Later, I was defeated and sealed on this planet. The Necrosword was lost as well, then picked up by Gorr.
"As a result, Gorr went from being a mortal to the renowned Gorr the God Butcher."
Wang Bert asked curiously, "It turned a mortal into a God Butcher? Is that sword really that miraculous?"
"Extremely miraculous. When I forged it, I used the concepts of devouring and fusion. The sword devours the power of gods and shares it with its wielder."
Knull said, "Simply put, the more gods the Necrosword kills, the stronger its wielder becomes.
"Blood God, Gorr has killed a great many demon gods over the years. That sword can greatly increase your power."
"I see. All right, bye."
Wang Bert turned around to leave. Knull nearly spat blood. Why did this guy refuse to follow common sense at all? He shouted, "Blood God, what do you mean?"
Without even turning his head, Wang Bert cursed, "You’re trying to trade me a sword that doesn’t even belong to you. Do you take me for an idiot?"
Knull said, "That sword may not be in my hands, but I still have control over it. As long as we find Gorr, we can easily kill him and reclaim the Necrosword. It’s no different from giving it to you for free."
"Where would I find the time?"
Wang Bert stopped and said, "How about you give me control over it first? Once I get the Necrosword, I’ll come back and save you."
Knull sneered, "Blood God, do you take me for a fool?"
"If you weren’t a fool, how did you end up sealed in here?"
Wang Bert laughed disdainfully, opened a portal, and stepped through it.
Watching the portal gradually close, Knull smiled contemptuously. It was merely a psychological tactic. Blood God would return soon enough.
Just as the portal was about to close, a hand reached back through it and said, "I almost forgot to do something."
"I knew you would come back, Blood God. The power of the Necrosword is absolutely beyond your imagination."
Knull said smugly. At that moment, Wang Bert snapped his fingers, and a massive golden Space Magic array appeared out of thin air, wrapping around the entire Symbiote Planet.
Then, the magic array and the Symbiote Planet vanished together. Don’t misunderstand—Symbiote Planet had not been exiled. Rather, the space around it had been sealed. Unless one was proficient in Space Magic, it would be impossible to discover the Symbiote Planet.
Furthermore, unless the spatial seal was broken, the symbiotes inside would never be able to get out.
Knull asked in shock and fury, "Blood God, what are you doing?"
"Do you even need to ask? I’m sealing you up. No need to thank me. It’s what I should do."
After saying that, Wang Bert withdrew his hand. The portal’s sparks flashed once, then it closed completely.
"Blood God!"
Knull roared. He had never expected this. Blood God truly was not tempted in the slightest.
About an hour later, Blood God still had not returned. Knull knew Blood God had genuinely left. He cursed and crushed a gemstone in his hand. A projection appeared before him out of thin air.
The projection had a massive purple body and looked like some purple sweet potato demon reincarnated. It was none other than the universe’s most wanted criminal, Thanos!
Knull said unhappily, "Thanos, Blood God isn’t like you said. He didn’t take the bait."
"He managed to resist the temptation of both the Necrosword and you?"
Thanos frowned. This entire scheme, from beginning to end, had been his arrangement.
The crude plan to lure Blood God into splitting the planet apart had merely been bait to draw Wang Bert here. The real killer moves were the Necrosword and Knull.
Thanos had prepared two plans. As long as Wang Bert was tempted by either the Necrosword or Knull, he would step into Thanos’s trap. At best, he would be sealed for a thousand years.
The Necrosword plan aside, Knull’s plan was simple—lure Blood God into devouring Knull, then break Knull’s seal from within and without, killing Blood God completely.
Thanos was not a corpse. He would not stand still, nor would he do nothing while waiting for the Six Infinity Stones to deliver themselves to him. In fact, he had been watching Earth all along, waiting for an opportunity.
Originally, the situation had been favorable. The two greatest obstacles, Odin and Ancient One, had both run into trouble one after another. But then Blood God rose against all odds, becoming even more terrifying than Odin and Ancient One. Under such circumstances, Thanos naturally had to find a way to eliminate Blood God.
After all, Blood God was different from Ancient One and Odin—this guy was immortal. He could not be worn down by draining his lifespan.
Thus, with "His" reminder, Thanos found Knull and set this trap.
To be honest, Thanos had been very confident in this plan. Blood God was famously greedy and domineering. Whether it was the Necrosword or Knull, he should not have been willing to let either go.
Who would have thought Blood God would suddenly become a vegetarian, causing Thanos and Knull’s plans to fall apart completely?
Thanos did not know that Wang Bert had not suddenly become a vegetarian. The reason he had not devoured Knull was simple: he did not have the time.
Knull was, after all, an ancient god and had not lost the ability to resist. Devouring Him would take at least ten years. In other words, Wang Bert would be tied down. If something happened on Earth during that time, it would be troublesome.
Though Wang Bert could be somewhat carefree, he still cared deeply about Earth.
Moreover, compared to Knull, an even better meal was waiting for Wang Bert: the Space Stones of other worlds. With enough Space Stones, Wang Bert might even be able to become a Creator God.
Thanos thought for a moment and said, "Don’t be anxious. Blood God may just be playing hard to get. After some time, he’ll return to find you."
Knull asked unhappily, "After some time? In other words, you don’t intend to help me break the seal?"
"I will certainly do what I promised, but not now. Wait a little longer."
Thanos said this, though with his own power, he could not actually break the seal. But he had someone behind him.
"Fine. I’ll wait three years for you, Thanos. We are natural allies. Your goal and mine are the same."
Knull nodded. For a being like Him, three years would pass in a flash—so short it could almost be ignored.
"They are not the same. I seek balance in the universe, while you seek to destroy it."
Thanos shook his head and said, "Notify me immediately if Blood God returns."
With that, Thanos’s projection disappeared. Knull snorted, his body rapidly disintegrating. Only His muttering remained in the surroundings: "I was clearly here first."
Aboard Sanctuary, Thanos sat high in his chair, frowning deeply. Unless he killed Blood God, he would never be able to obtain the Infinity Stones. After all, Blood God held three and a half of them.
The problem was that Blood God had grown far too quickly. According to "Him," Thanos was no longer a match for him.
Thanos turned toward the empty void and said, "You’re here. I want to grow stronger. What can I do?"
The soldiers below immediately lowered their heads, not daring to look upward.
A moment later, Thanos continued, "God’s Graveyard? I’ll find a way to go there. My dear, I will restore balance to the universe."
Let us turn back time a little. In the underground base, seeing that the Super Collider was about to activate, Steve hurriedly shouted, "Deploy the Drone Armor!"
"Alright."
Everyone flung out the miniature Drone Armor they carried. The Drone Armor rapidly returned to its original size, flew into the air, and fired fiercely at the symbiotes, Kingpin, and the others.
Ever since Pym Particles had entered mass production, S.W.O.R.D.’s Super Heroes had all carried Drone Armor with them. It had to be said, Pym Particles were truly incredibly useful.
"You think you’re the only ones with robots?"
Kingpin sneered. The panels in the ceiling rapidly opened, and then flying robots descended one after another, engaging in fierce crossfire with the Drone Armor and Super Heroes.
That was not all. Many gun barrels emerged from the walls and, under the intelligent system’s targeting, fired energy beams at the Super Heroes.
Kingpin had prepared for this day for more than a year. How could the Artificial Sun be his only trump card?
Under the siege of flying robots and Energy Guns, the Super Heroes became somewhat hard-pressed. After all, two Super Heroes had "defected," while several others temporarily lacked the ability to protect themselves and required attention.
"Troublesome."
Seeing the situation turn bad, Strange forcibly opened a portal. Dr. Banner stepped out and said, "Wow, it’s lively in here. Huh, why did Future Banner become like this? So ugly."
As Strange flew toward the wall, he said, "You handle him. I’ll deal with these Energy Guns."
Future Hulk, who was locked in a fierce battle with Future Thor, saw Dr. Banner and immediately kicked Future Thor away. Then he charged toward Dr. Banner with a thunderous rumble and threw a fist that shook the void. "I’m the Hulk!"
Seeing Future Hulk charge at him, Dr. Banner shook his head and rapidly grew larger. Then he raised his right hand and steadily caught Future Hulk’s fist. Though fierce winds raged around them, Hulk’s body did not budge in the slightest.
With his fist caught, Future Hulk felt both fear and rage. The image of being brutally beaten by Thanos resurfaced in his mind.
"You call yourself Hulk?"
Hulk smiled disdainfully and smashed his basin-sized fist into Future Hulk’s face. Future Hulk staggered back repeatedly from the blow, even losing two teeth.
Future Hulk spat out the teeth, roared, and charged forward. He unleashed a fierce, powerful combination of punches at Hulk. Hulk easily dodged them, then seized an opening and kicked Future Hulk in the chest, sending him flying dozens of meters.
"You only know how to use brute force. You don’t even understand the most basic control. No wonder you couldn’t beat Thanos."
Hulk said disdainfully, "To put it bluntly, your fighting style is just overpowering people with strength. Under normal circumstances, you can win because your strength is terrifying. But once you encounter an opponent with strength comparable to yours, or even greater than yours, you’ll be at a disadvantage—or even be completely crushed."
