Traversing Time and Space

The Hellfire Club’s headquarters was in Las Vegas. Today, Black King Sebastian Shaw was in a very good mood, because America would soon descend into chaos. He liked chaos, because chaos meant big money.

Unfortunately, after White Queen returned, that wonderful mood vanished completely. Black King asked White Queen with a grim expression, "Emma, are you sure you’re not joking with me?"

"I’m not joking. I’m planning to leave the club and switch to Iron Man’s Rebirth Group."

White Queen said, "I came back to resign."

Black King and the other Hellfire members all stared at White Queen in shock. Was this some kind of joke? They had sent her to recruit Bert Wang, yet she had been poached by him instead? Black King glared at White Queen and said with an iron face, "Emma, I don’t like this joke. I demand that you take those words back."

White Queen said, "Sorry, I have no intention of taking them back. I’ll hand over my shares in the club, but I’m taking every cent that belongs to me."

Black King stood up, smashed his wineglass onto the floor, and shouted, "I said I don’t like this joke!"

Hydro, Angel Salvadore, Mist, and the other Hellfire members all glared at White Queen with hostility. Some even placed their hands on their weapon hilts.

"What does it have to do with me whether you like it or not?"

Facing Black King’s rage, White Queen showed no fear at all. She snorted coldly. "Shaw, let’s part on good terms. I don’t want anything unpleasant to happen."

"Why? Haven’t we been happy together all these years?"

Black King demanded loudly. A king and a queen were naturally a pair.

White Queen said, "You’re too old. I prefer younger men, and Bert Wang suits me perfectly."

Black King nearly spat blood. Had he just been cuckolded? He said, "I don’t know why you want to switch jobs, but I won’t let you leave this place."

"Is that so?"

A cold gleam flashed through White Queen’s eyes. Hydro and the others simultaneously turned to look at Black King expressionlessly. Black King was startled, then shouted, "You controlled them? That’s impossible. Your power isn’t that strong."

"They all have Backdoors I left in their minds."

White Queen smiled. "Shaw, do you think there might be one in your head too?"

Black King’s expression turned incomparably ugly. He had spent every day with White Queen. She might really have tampered with his mind in secret.

White Queen said, "Shaw, let’s part on good terms. The Backdoors in your minds aren’t difficult to remove."

Black King said hatefully, "Fine. But Emma, you’ll regret this. And Bert Wang must pay the price."

"That’s his problem."

White Queen said indifferently. If Wang Bert got himself killed, he would deserve it—if he had no ability yet dared to steal someone else’s woman, who else would get killed if not him?

Black King snorted and said nothing more. Then the two began dividing their assets. Since White Queen was taking only money, the matter was settled quickly.

That afternoon, White Queen left the Hellfire Club with the money owed to her. Black King smashed his desk to pieces in fury, then gritted his teeth and said, "Everyone, find Empath and have your minds checked. Remove the Backdoors Emma planted."

Empath was another psychic in the Hellfire Club. Though his power was not as strong as White Queen’s, finding the Backdoors would not be difficult.

"Black King, are we really just letting this go? She was your queen."

Angel Salvadore, with fairy wings on her back, added fuel to the fire. She had always wanted to replace Emma and become the new queen.

"Of course we won’t let this go. I’ll make Bert Wang and Emma pay the price."

Black King said coldly, "It won’t be long before Emma obediently returns to my side."

Salvadore curled her lips in dissatisfaction, then made a decision in her heart. If she had the chance, she would definitely kill White Queen. As long as White Queen lived, she would never have a chance to become queen.

Four days later, at Wang Family Manor, White Queen stared at Wang Bert’s study and asked in astonishment, "Don’t tell me you’re planning to traverse time and space here? Even in movies, they at least have some huge time-travel machine, okay?"

Over the past two days, Wang Bert had told White Queen some things, so she knew that his method for saving her sister was to traverse time and space.

Wolverine sneered. "How ignorant. Future technology is developing toward miniaturization and nanotechnology."

Cable gave Wolverine a speechless look. Hadn’t he said that before?

White Queen said coldly, "Logan, I will never let my sister be with you again. No one who stays with you ever ends well."

"Maybe."

Wolverine fell silent for a moment. He said, "I’ll let Silver Fox choose for herself. If she’s willing to follow me, I’ll do everything I can to protect her. I’ll never let anything happen to her again."

White Queen said, "If she doesn’t follow you, nothing will happen to her. I’m taking her away and finding her a truly reliable man."

"If she wants to leave, I won’t force her to stay. But if she doesn’t want to, no one can take her away from me."

Wolverine said firmly. White Queen was about to sneer when Wang Bert said, "We’re on the same side, so stop arguing. Cable, begin. I modified your Time-Space Watch, so it can bring multiple people along."

"You really are the greatest genius of this era."

Cable exclaimed in admiration. In just seven days, Wang Bert had not only repaired the Time-Space Watch, but made it even more powerful. Honestly, if he had not witnessed it himself, Cable would never have believed such a thing. It was practically a miracle.

Ordinary people truly could not measure geniuses.

Cable stopped wasting time. He raised the Time-Space Watch on his wrist, set the era, time, and location, then activated it. The watch erupted with a massive burst of light that enveloped Wang Bert and the others.

When the light vanished, all four disappeared.

More than ten years earlier, on a small island, Colonel Stryker used an Adamantium bullet to knock Wolverine unconscious. Then he walked over to the heavily injured Silver Fox, raised his gun, and prepared to shoot her dead.

Unexpectedly, Silver Fox still had some ability to move. She quietly grabbed Stryker’s calf and used her power to make Stryker aim the gun at himself—Silver Fox’s ability was contact hypnosis. Simply put, through physical contact, she could make others obey her commands.

"I should have made you kill yourself, but then what would be the difference between you and me? Now, throw away the gun, turn around, and walk away. The farther, the better."

Silver Fox ordered. Stryker gave her a deep look, tossed away the gun, and turned to walk into the distance.

Silver Fox closed her eyes, preparing to die. At that moment, a mocking voice sounded beside her ear. "This is why saints are the most annoying. Letting Stryker go may seem noble, but over the next decade or so, many people will be killed and tortured by Stryker. Yuriko, for example.

Another voice said unhappily, "My sister was just too kind. What are you waiting for? Hurry up and treat her! She’s about to die."

As that voice spoke, a gentle energy enveloped Silver Fox. She felt incredibly comfortable, and her consciousness grew increasingly drowsy. In the end, she fell into a deep sleep.

White Queen grabbed Wang Bert’s arm and shouted angrily, "What’s going on? Why isn’t my sister reacting at all?"

Wang Bert said irritably, "She’s just asleep. Don’t get so worked up. Can’t you see Logan is completely calm?"

Wolverine was somewhat embarrassed. He had long since forgotten Silver Fox. Seeing her again this time, how should he put it? He felt as if he had fallen in love again. Uh, why did he say again?

White Queen snorted. "He isn’t excited because he’s a scumbag."

The Wolverine of the past looked blank. "Who are you? And who am I?"

Gambit was greatly shocked. As he pulled Wolverine away, he said, "We’ll talk after we get out of here. The military is about to arrive."

The Wolverine of the past instinctively followed Gambit away. When they passed Silver Fox’s body, he froze for a moment. Though he did not remember this woman, he felt that she was somehow special.

Before Wolverine could get a better look, Gambit dragged him rapidly away.

White Queen said hatefully to Wolverine, "You left my sister’s body exposed in the wilderness, and you still claim you’re not a scumbag? Do you know that I spent more than ten years searching for her remains and found nothing? If I’m not mistaken, the military must have burned her body."

Wolverine fell silent. Although he had lost his memories at the time, he was indeed responsible for this.

Cable urged, "Enough talking. We need to bring Silver Fox back to the present quickly. The longer we stay in the past, the more dangerous it becomes."

"Okay."

Wang Bert nodded. He walked over to Silver Fox, sealed her body with Space Energy, then had Wolverine pick her up.

"Let’s go back."

The present day.

Wang Bert said to Wolverine, "A professional Medical Room has been prepared in the backyard, and the Life Mutant is there too. Hurry and take Silver Fox over."

"Great, BOSS. Thanks."

Wolverine nodded, then ran eagerly toward the Medical Room with Silver Fox in his arms. White Queen followed close behind.

After the two left, Wang Bert said to Cable, "Cable, you can go back now. By the way, did you say goodbye to Jean and Cyclops?"

"No. It would be awkward staying with them."

Cable shook his head. "Mr. Wang, it was a pleasure meeting you. I’m leaving."

Wang Bert smiled. "All right. I hope we meet again in the future."

"Mr. Wang, be careful. There’s no information about you in the future. Maybe everything about you was erased."

Cable hesitated before saying this. Wang Bert smiled. "Or maybe the future simply can’t handle me."

Cable did not understand, but he said no more. He activated the time machine, and a ball of light enveloped him.

"Give my regards to future Cyclops."

Wang Bert waved. Just then, the light disappeared, and Cable reappeared before Wang Bert.

Wang Bert awkwardly lowered his hand, then asked in surprise, "Cable, why aren’t you leaving?"

"I was blocked by some kind of wall. I can’t return to the future."

Cable said with an ugly expression, "Mr. Wang, you didn’t break the Time-Space Watch while repairing it, did you?"

"We just went back to the past. If I’m not mistaken, something changed in the future."

Wang Bert thought for a moment and raised his hand. Nanoparticles formed a brand-new Time-Space Watch, slightly smaller and cooler than Cable’s.

"You copied my Time-Space Watch?"

Cable was dumbfounded. With behavior like this, he still dared call himself a good person? "I was planning to use it after you left, but now it seems you might not be able to leave."

Wang Bert shrugged and activated the nano Time-Space Watch. A ball of light wrapped around him and carried him into the time-space passage.

The path leading backward through the time-space passage was completely unobstructed, but the path forward was blocked by a scarlet wall. Wang Bert slammed into the wall with a bang and was bounced back.

"Did Wanda and Scarlet Witch create this wall?"

Wang Bert used Space Energy to stop himself in the time-space passage, then shouted, "Wanda, what exactly happened to you?"

Wanda’s voice came from inside the wall. "Bert, become the Mutant God. I’ll wait for you in the future."

Wang Bert wanted to ask more, but the Time-Space Watch ran out of energy, and he was kicked out of the time-space passage.

Wang Bert snorted and ignored Cable beside him. He activated the Time-Space Watch again and used Money Power at the same time. "Add Time-Space Energy worth one hundred million dollars."

Wang Bert returned to the time-space passage. Unfortunately, no matter how he questioned it this time, the wall gave no response.

Wang Bert returned to the present in frustration. No wonder he had never been able to find Wanda and Scarlet Witch. They were in the future.

Something really happened to them. They’re waiting for me to find them.

Wang Bert thought to himself, Become the Mutant God? Does that mean leading the mutants, becoming the strongest among mutants, or completely controlling mutant genes?

Then Wang Bert shook his head. There was no need to guess which one it was, because he would accomplish all of them. In fact, he had been doing those three things from the very beginning.

Cable hurriedly asked, "Mr. Wang, what exactly happened?"

Wang Bert said, "The path to the future has been sealed, but the past hasn’t been affected."

"So I can’t go back?"

Cable shouted, "Then what about my daughter?"

Wang Bert said, "It’s not a big problem. Live in this era for now. When the future you travels back to the past, you can return to your daughter."

Cable said, "If I stay in this era, I’ll change the past. Besides, my lifespan is limited."

"The past was changed long ago, Cable. You’re already part of this era."

Wang Bert said, "As for your age, it’s not a problem. I’ll give you an extra hundred years of lifespan, free of charge."

Cable looked as though he did not read much, but did not want to be fooled. "You can give away lifespan too?"

"Of course I can. Stay here without worry. This era might suit you better."

Wang Bert shrugged. In the movies, Cable had also stayed behind and become Wade’s best buddy.
