Treated Me Cruelly a Thousand Times, Yet I Loved You Like My First Love
S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Special Operations Unit was highly trained when facing ordinary people, each of them capable of taking on a hundred foes. But when they encountered Li Feng, who was anything but ordinary, they were at a loss.
His shield was especially infuriating. They did not have absurdly powerful weapons like sniper rifles in their hands, only standard firearms. There was no need to explain what happened when those faced a shield that could reflect bullets.
Every shot fired by the Special Operations Unit took down one of their own.
After a few shots, the Special Operations Unit looked at one another. No one dared fire so casually and commit suicide anymore.
A female Special Operations Unit agent suddenly shouted, "Use daggers for close combat."
After shouting that, she quietly retreated to the back of the group with an expression that said, I’m not good at close combat.
The remaining agents thought she had a point. Since their opponent was a Mage renowned for spells, his hand-to-hand combat ability was surely weak. They immediately split into two groups. One group kept firing at Natasha with their guns, while the other discarded their firearms, drew daggers, and circled Li Feng while brandishing them.
Li Feng glanced at the female agent who had shouted, "Use daggers for close combat." That voice sounds so familiar.
Li Feng activated his Mystic Eyes and looked at her. After confirming that she was an acquaintance, he rolled his eyes. He raised his shield, ignored the agents’ "little toys," leisurely approached one of them, and kicked him more than ten meters away.
The agents surrounding Li Feng all looked toward their teammate, who had been kicked to death by Li Feng. Their eyelids twitched wildly. Fine, their bullets can’t penetrate the shield. Fine, the shield reflects their bullets and injures them instead. But what the hell was that kick that sent someone flying more than ten meters?
This was poor hand-to-hand combat ability? Other than Captain with his shield, who could withstand a kick that powerful?
With no other choice, the agents surrounding Li Feng neither dared trade blows with him nor let him get close. They could only desperately call for reinforcements while keeping their distance from him.
Whenever Li Feng took a few steps forward, the Special Operations Unit retreated a few steps. If Li Feng stepped back, they naturally moved forward a few steps. Li Feng found it rather amusing, sometimes striding forward quickly and sometimes slowly backing away.
Just as Li Feng was enjoying himself, Natasha beside him lost her temper.
She had only brought a small handgun when she left, and she had not carried many bullets. She was quickly suppressed by the Special Operations Unit and did not dare raise her head. Seeing Li Feng shamelessly playing around nearby, she angrily shouted, "Austin, help!"
Li Feng turned and looked at the bedraggled Natasha, then laughed. "Girl, you’re terrible. Look how awesome I am."
With that, Li Feng strode over to Natasha and expanded his shield to cover her.
One self-proclaimed clever agent assumed that the shield’s defense would weaken after expanding. While Li Feng had his back turned, he quickly loaded a grenade launcher and prepared to blast Li Feng away.
Unfortunately, it was utterly useless. Whether bullets or grenades, none of them could do anything to this cheat called Li Feng. Instead, the grenades reflected by the shield caused them heavy casualties.
What was most infuriating was that Hydra’s primary target was Steve in another high-rise building. Not only did their request for support receive no reinforcements, they were instead ordered to hold Li Feng back at all costs, even if the entire unit was wiped out.
So, not only had they become disposable pawns, they had also been ordered to become Li Feng’s toys before dying, all to buy time for Steve’s capture.
Hydra’s brainwashing techniques really were impressive. If it had been any other organization, heh, the Special Operations Unit would probably have shouted, "The world is so big, I want to go see it," tossed down their weapons, and walked away in style.
As for Li Feng, after kicking several agents to death, he inexplicably felt that kicking people made both his body and mind happy.
After thinking it over, Li Feng sent Natasha into the Mirror Dimension. He himself cast no spells at all, instead imitating Bruce Lee by bouncing on the balls of his feet and making strange cries of "Ooh-wu!" and "Ah-dah!" Then he teleported behind the Special Operations Unit and kicked them away one by one.
Before long, a pile of Special Operations Unit agents who were no longer breathing was stacked in one corner of the rooftop like a human pyramid.
Li Feng sat atop the mountain of flesh formed by the agents and waved open the Mirror Dimension. He motioned for Sam Wilson, Natasha, and Silvert to step out while tilting his head to examine one agent wearing a helmet and mask, whose gender was impossible to discern.
Natasha had just returned to the real world and was wondering why Li Feng had kept one agent alive when Li Feng turned to her and smiled. "Natasha, come look. I caught a wild Maria Hill agent."
"Hill?" Natasha’s eyes lit up, but she did not lower the pistol in her hand. She remained cautiously on guard as she rapidly asked, "Hill, do you know where Fury is?"
"This helmet is really uncomfortable," Hill said as she removed it. She nodded at Natasha to indicate that she knew Fury’s location, then looked curiously at Li Feng. "How did you know it was me? By my voice?"
Li Feng shamelessly said, "Want to know? Easy. Just do the splits with a smile on your face, and I’ll tell you why."
Hill’s expression froze. She had worn a stern face all year round in S.H.I.E.L.D., earning herself the nickname "Iceberg Beauty." It was one thing for Li Feng to want to see her do the splits, but he actually wanted to see her smile too?
Like hell I’ll let you see that. Hill coldly pulled out her pistol and fired at the Special Operations Unit agents beneath Li Feng’s feet. As for why she did not aim at Li Feng, she was not stupid. She knew the shield would reflect the bullets. Why would she aim at him and seek death?
Natasha had guessed why Li Feng recognized Hill. Uncertainly, she asked, "You saw Hill’s Astral Body, didn’t you?"
"How boring." Li Feng curled his lip. As he turned into Black Mist and floated toward Steve, he summoned several cans of beer with a spell, preparing to drink while watching the grand show of Bucky fighting Captain.
Elsewhere, Li Feng watched Steve and Bucky fight and kept shaking his head. He truly could not understand what Steve was thinking.
After launching a fierce assault at the beginning and tearing off Bucky’s mask, Steve stopped attacking proactively. He put on an attitude of You may abuse me a thousand times, but I’ll still love you like my first love. Apart from holding up his shield, dodging left and right, he just kept muttering, "Bucky, you know me."
Bucky, on the other hand, was probably driven mad by Steve’s incessant talking. He furiously hammered Steve’s shield with his metal fist and roared as he struck, "I don’t know you! How many times do I have to say it? I don’t know you!"
Hidden behind his shield, Steve said affectionately, "No, you know me. You’ve known me since we were children. Your real name is James Buchanan Barnes. Your usual name is Bucky Barnes."
At that moment, Bucky did not feel much about his real name. He only felt as though tens of thousands of flies were buzzing inside his head. Before Steve could continue persuading him, the enraged Bucky punched Steve’s shield and irritably roared, "Shut up!"
Would Steve give up trying to persuade him? Obviously not.
Especially after Steve saw Li Feng kick away the Special Operations Unit agents gathered nearby one by one, he thought for a moment, then simply threw down his shield and assumed a posture that said, I’m a punching bag. "I won’t fight you. You’re my friend, my best brother."
Who wants a friend who buzzes like a fly? Ignoring Li Feng, Bucky directly tackled Steve, straddled his lower abdomen, and punched him twice. "You are my mission. Listen carefully, you are only a mission."
Steve forced a smile. "Then complete your mission, because I’ll stay with you until the end."
Bucky was somewhat bewildered. He had carried out quite a few missions, but this was the first time he had seen someone who clearly had the ability to resist yet allowed himself to be beaten.
He suspected that he had found the wrong target. This guy was clearly an idiot. How could he be the "scourge" that threatened Hydra?
After dealing with the Special Operations Unit, Li Feng covered his face as he looked at Bucky straddling Steve. "You poker-faced kid, do you have a camera? That pose of yours is way too loving. I can’t help wanting to take a picture as a keepsake."
Bucky glanced at Li Feng. He knew that his mission had actually failed.
He was an experienced soldier, not an experienced idiot. Looking at how his teammates had been taken out within seconds, he knew he had no chance of winning against Li Feng.
Bucky glared viciously at Steve and Li Feng, then rolled over, took a running start, and prepared to jump off the building to escape.
Li Feng curled his lip disdainfully and cast a spell to open a Portal in front of Bucky. While controlling the Portal as it moved beneath Bucky’s feet, he shouted, "You poker-faced kid, do you know what endless falling is?"
The moment his words fell, Bucky had already entered the Portal.
Steve picked up his shield while panting heavily and asked, "Austin, where did you send Bucky?"
Li Feng pointed overhead. Steve looked up and saw Bucky freely falling from a height of a thousand meters.
Steve’s mouth twitched. He immediately calculated that, at Bucky’s current altitude and falling speed, he would definitely be smashed to death. Terrified, he ran beneath Bucky and shouted, "Austin, don’t kill him!"
"I wasn’t planning to kill him." As he spoke, Li Feng opened a Portal directly beneath Bucky so that after Bucky fell into it, he would return to an altitude of a thousand meters.
Steve breathed a sigh of relief, only to hear Li Feng laugh. "I think Bucky is burning with rage right now. Anything you say will just go in one ear and out the other, so let him get some air first. Once his head cools down, you can talk to him properly."
Steve looked at Bucky and nodded slightly. "That works. Right, where’s Natasha?"
Li Feng pointed toward the original high-rise. Taking out Dark Cloud and motioning for Steve to board it, he said, "She’s having a pleasant chat with Hill. I’m guessing Natasha already knows where Egg is hiding and incubating his eggs."
Before long, Steve reunited with Hill and impatiently asked, "Hill, do you know where Fury is?"
Hill nodded and efficiently gave him the address before asking, "Fury wants to see you."
"I want to see him too." Steve looked up at Bucky, who had lost all will to live, and said, "Austin, restrain Bucky first. The most important thing now is finding help. We have to destroy Project Insight before the three Helicarriers take off."
Li Feng secretly rolled his eyes. Now you remember to care about Project Insight? I thought the moment you saw Bucky, you forgot about the lives of millions.
While grumbling inwardly, Li Feng waved open a Portal. Before Bucky could react, Li Feng petrified him directly. Then he motioned for Steve to carry Bucky and opened another Portal leading near Fury.
