A faint current flickered through the air, and the invisible magnetic field had already fallen under Bai Cangshu’s control.

Bai Cangshu opened his eyes and looked at the transparent glass before him. He was inside a special containment chamber, with white special metal beneath his feet and dozens of layers of reinforced glass surrounding him.

Black metal shackles bound both his hands and feet.

It was Bai Cangshu’s first time seeing an entrance like this. Sweeping his gaze around, he found Snow Witch and Tree Herder not far away, receiving the same treatment.

These people had probably triggered some special event during the previous stage of the chain mission, resulting in their capture and confinement in this base.

Yet when they returned and had completely vanished from the base, upon descending once more, the Space had remarkably placed them back in their original environment.

With a thought, Bai Cangshu realized that this base likely contained something these people wanted. This was part of the Far East Magic Society’s plan, a group of high-level Reincarnators.

Freezing Qi spread out, rapidly freezing the device restraining Snow Witch. Just as the ten-second countdown reached eight, it shattered with a crack.

Snow Witch glanced at Bai Cangshu, pressed both hands to the ground, and rings of ice-blue magic circles spread from beneath her palms. Then intense Freezing Qi erupted like crashing waves.

In the blink of an eye, the entire underground base was completely frozen, and both the alarm and countdown fell silent.

"More accurately, the symbiotes."

Only after Snow Witch froze the entire military base and stopped its self-destruction did she explain. Their team had not been in particularly good condition after the previous mission ended.

While being pursued by the Avengers, Solomon had deliberately chosen for the entire team to be captured near this base. They had planned to take several symbiotes—or at least genetic samples—during this return.

He had already understood that milestones, titles, and authorities were likewise extensions of the tiers. When Reincarnators could not directly touch those higher tiers, the Space used this method to allow them to gain a portion of their power.

"Sorry, Mr. Solomon. I’ve always done whatever I please. I’d rather farm some milestones first. When you start fighting, I’ll provide support depending on the situation."

Bai Cangshu made no attempt to hide the fact that he intended to stand by and watch first. This left Snow Witch and the Twins, Jifeng and Xinfeng, looking far from pleased.

If someone like Mercenary Tao joined the battle midway through, who knew whether he was waiting for them and the Plot Characters to wound each other badly before harvesting them all?

Just as they were about to object, Tree Herder, who had not voiced an opinion until now, raised his head. The cross-shaped mark between his brows glimmered with a jade-green radiance.

"President, I also plan to act freely in this mission."

As he spoke, he took a step to the side and stood behind Bai Cangshu.

Bai Cangshu’s lips split into a wild grin.

Snow Witch, Yun Wujiu, and the Twins were all startled. Jin and Solomon were stunned as well.

They had not expected Tree Herder to be the first to choose to side with Mercenary Tao, and it seemed the two had reached an agreement long ago.
