Truly an Ordinary Person
After hearing that they could leave, Lacey, Tony, and the others all walked out of the Records Temple.
Before leaving, Kyle even specifically waved to Sarah in farewell.
"What is the Records Temple mainly for?"
"Can someone knowledgeable explain?"
After walking out of the Records Temple, Renoli immediately posted a message in the community through his communicator.
"According to Miss Sonia, it is so everyone can let people know roughly where they are going whenever they travel far from home."
"It will also make it easier to find out if anyone runs into trouble later."
"That’s right. I was there at the time, and that was exactly what Miss Sonia said."
"It’s just reporting your itinerary when you travel far away. It doesn’t restrict travel, so I think it’s no big deal."
"Renoli, are you back from Earth?"
Because of Renoli’s question, the community immediately became lively.
"Is Miss Sarah really just an ordinary person?"
When Kyle saw the community chat, he immediately spoke up as well.
"Yes, but the identity of the person who brought her here is anything but ordinary."
"Miss Sonia has never specifically created a position before. That means this recorder position was most likely Lord Kassadin’s intention."
"So it would be better to treat Miss Sarah more kindly."
"But as expected of someone from the Celebrity Hotel. Talking to her is pleasant, and it gives you a sense of being respected."
"I even want to stay in the Records Temple and chat with Miss Sarah some more."
"I just wonder whether there would be any problem if I kept staying there with nothing to do."
After seeing Kyle’s messages, some people began discussing it as well.
"Tonight, I’m planning to host a grand banquet. Everyone, come along. We can talk when we meet."
At that moment, Tony Stark, whose name tag carried the title of billionaire, spoke up.
"Holy shit?! Tony, when did you get back?"
"If there’s a banquet, I’ll definitely be there."
"Don’t worry about nobody eating the food. Call me anytime; I can really eat."
"I’ll be there!"
"I’ll be there!"
Tony’s message immediately blew up the community chat and dragged out some of the people who had been lurking.
After all, Tony had been gone for more than a year, and they had all been especially craving one of his lavish feasts.
Though none of them lacked food anymore, the more people there were, the livelier it would be.
"Miss Sarah doesn’t seem to be in the community chat."
Lacey entered a name, found no such person, and spoke up.
"Then I’ll go tell Miss Sarah that Tony is treating everyone tonight."
Upon hearing Lacey’s words, Kyle immediately vanished.
As Sarah recorded the information,
Sonia, who was on her way to the Records Temple, also received the news and was surprised to discover that Mr. Tony had returned to Xandar as well.
Moreover, Sonia saw how lively the community chat had become.
Sure enough, whenever Mr. Tony returned, the whole Void Island became much livelier.
Still, having the Records Temple was indeed far more reliable. This way, she would not have to walk all over the island every day just to determine how many people were on it.
Sonia quickened her pace and headed straight for the Records Temple.
Having just received Lord Kyle’s invitation to attend Lord Tony Stark’s banquet that evening, Sarah was considering whether she should go.
"My name is Sarah. My duty is to record where everyone travels and when they return…"
"Sonia-senpai."
However, when Sarah heard footsteps, she immediately began speaking. Then, once she looked up and discovered that Sonia-senpai had arrived, she called out in surprise.
"How is it? Have you gotten used to it?"
Seeing Sarah’s practiced greeting, Sonia said with a smile.
"Yes, the work environment is even better than I imagined."
"Although people occasionally ask why an ordinary person is here, everyone on the island has been very friendly to me."
Sarah stood up and came before Sonia, happily reporting on her situation.
Not only did the work environment seem extremely prestigious, but her living quarters were not a room or dormitory either. It was a separate luxurious villa.
Even if she could not pass Mr. Kassadin’s test, working here for a year would still be something worth being happy about.
"It’s good that you can get used to it."
Seeing the unconcealed happiness on Sarah’s face, Sonia knew that her arrangements had worked.
"Oh, right, Sonia-senpai."
"Lord Kyle just invited me to attend the banquet Mr. Tony is holding tonight."
"Do you think I should go?"
Sarah nodded when she heard that, then immediately sought Sonia-senpai’s opinion.
Lord Kyle and the others did not seem like bad people, but whether she should attend was indeed a major question.
"Mr. Tony Stark’s banquets generally invite all the members on the island."
"Although you have not officially become one of the Void Cult members, you will at least be working here for a year."
"Since you have been invited, you should go."
Sonia also knew that Mr. Tony had a lively personality, so it was not strange for him to invite Sarah.
"Okay. Then, Sonia-senpai, are you going too?"
After hearing Sonia-senpai’s words, Sarah felt reassured.
"My identity is rather special, so I cannot go."
Sonia shook her head.
"I see. Then can I send you photos tonight?"
Sarah was somewhat disappointed to hear that Sonia-senpai could not attend with her, but she quickly thought of something and asked.
She had just arrived in a new work environment. Although the people around her were quite friendly, it was still an unfamiliar place.
Naturally, Sarah wanted to chat more with Sonia, who had guided her.
"Do as you like. As long as you have fun."
Sonia did not refuse.
"Mm."
After hearing that, Sarah decided to attend the banquet Mr. Tony was holding.
"Work hard here. I have something to do, so I’ll be leaving first."
Seeing that Sarah had adapted well and did not seem to have any problems, Sonia was reassured.
"You’re leaving so soon?"
"Can’t you stay a little longer?"
Sarah asked in confusion.
Although she knew that the important people on the island respected Sonia-senpai greatly, she still did not know enough about Sonia-senpai.
Logically speaking, Sonia-senpai, who was respected by so many important people, should not need to work so hard.
Yet Sonia-senpai seemed so busy that she barely had time for casual conversation.
This made Sarah want to know what Sonia-senpai was usually busy with.
"I only came by to check on you while I was passing through. There are still many things on the island that need me to handle."
"Work seriously and strive to earn Mr. Kassadin’s recognition."
"Then you’ll have time to chat with me slowly in the future."
Sonia shook her head, gave her a few instructions, and immediately left.
Sarah watched Sonia-senpai stop by to look at her for only a moment before hurrying away, and she became curious.
By all rights, Sonia-senpai, who was respected by so many important people, should not have to work herself so hard.
But Sonia-senpai seemed too busy to have much time to chat.
That made Sarah want to know what Sonia-senpai was usually busy doing.
The twenty-fifth day of writing ten thousand words. The first update is here. Thanks once again to Aiyaya Popoji for the reward. Many thanks.
