Venom
In the movie Venom, Eddie relied on Dr. Dora to easily sneak into the Life Foundation laboratory as if entering an empty place. But the question was, would it still be that easy in the real world?
Of course not.
The moment he reached the entrance, Eddie was caught. The head of security said disdainfully, "Didn’t you know there’s a temperature scanner at the door? Dr. Dora, you may be good at research, but espionage is not your forte."
"I…"
Dr. Dora trembled in fright, unable to say a single word.
"She doesn’t know anything. I climbed into her trunk on my own because I wanted to follow her home and rob her."
Eddie, who had been dragged out of the trunk, shouted, "Buddy, one look at me tells you I’m a homeless man. Why would she possibly hire someone like me to work for her?"
The head of security looked Eddie up and down, somewhat swayed. Eddie looked far too much like a loser right now. Still, he had no intention of releasing them. "I’ll hand you over to the boss. He’ll decide what to do with you. Take them to the office."
"Yes."
The guards nodded and escorted Dr. Dora and Eddie toward the office. Eddie sighed. I’m done for. I can only hope Dr. Drake has forgotten about me.
Unfortunately, not only had Dr. Drake not forgotten him, he remembered him vividly. "Wow, isn’t this our great reporter?"
Eddie gave a bitter smile. "I want to interview you again. Is that okay?"
"Sorry, you’re not qualified. Oh, and the reason you haven’t been able to find a job is because I put in a word."
Dr. Drake said smugly, "By the way, your ex-girlfriend is pretty cute. I was just thinking of asking her out."
"Bastard!"
Eddie rushed forward to punch Dr. Drake, but the security chief immediately kicked him to the ground. Then, two guards aimed their guns at him at the same time.
"Don’t get so worked up. It was just a little joke. You need a sense of humor."
Dr. Drake smiled, then turned to Dr. Dora and asked, "Dr. Dora, I thought I treated you quite well. Why did you betray me?"
"It wasn’t me who betrayed you. You betrayed humanity. You want to use those alien monsters to replace us humans."
Dr. Dora threw caution to the wind and shouted at Dr. Drake, "You’re not human at all. You’re a demon."
"No, I’m an angel, an angel who will save humanity and save Earth."
Dr. Drake spoke righteously. "Humanity takes and takes and takes, just like parasites. If humanity continues like this, Earth will be destroyed within a hundred years.
"The only way to save Earth is to fuse humans with symbiotes. That way, we can not only reduce humanity’s destruction, but also allow humans to survive on other planets.
"Then, neither humanity nor Earth will be destroyed. Both will flourish."
Dr. Dora rebuked him angrily, "After fusing with symbiotes, are humans still human?"
"Of course not. They’ll be higher life-forms."
Dr. Drake suddenly transformed into Riot, over three meters tall. The slime covering his body, black skin, white eyes, and huge mouth full of fangs shocked everyone. Even the guards could not help retreating.
"Wow, if that’s what higher life-forms look like, I’d rather die."
Eddie shouted, "That’s way too damn ugly, isn’t it?"
"Your organs must be delicious."
Riot licked Eddie’s face with his long tongue. Eddie nearly pissed himself, but fortunately, Riot did nothing else and quickly transformed back into Dr. Drake.
"You understand nothing."
Dr. Drake smiled disdainfully. Spreading his arms, he said, "I will be this world’s savior."
"There’s only one savior in this world, and that’s Blood God. You’re not even fit to carry his shoes."
Eddie wiped his face and said contemptuously, "And those problems you mentioned? Blood God and the others are already handling them. It’s fine if you don’t support them, but don’t hold them back."
"Blood God is indeed extraordinary. I don’t deny that. But his methods are too slow, and more importantly, he’s far too merciful."
Dr. Drake said, "Those useless parasites should just be eliminated. Why bother with job retraining?
"What’s even more ridiculous is that he clearly has an army of construction robots, yet to avoid a wave of unemployment, he locks the robots in warehouses instead of using them.
"Womanish benevolence. Blood God simply isn’t cut out for great things. To accomplish great things, you need to be fast, accurate, and ruthless. Solve everything in one stroke. If those losers dare resist, just capture them and throw them onto alien planets to mine. How simple is that?
"If I had Blood God’s resources, Earth would have colonized other planets long ago."
"Thank goodness you aren’t the one in power. I have plenty of issues with Blood God myself, but right now, I support him completely."
Eddie sneered. Blood God might have some flaws, but he was a qualified guardian. A traitor to humanity like Dr. Drake had no right to compare himself to him.
"A loser is still a loser. You have no idea what the bigger picture is."
Dr. Drake smiled disdainfully and said, "Don’t waste any more time. Send them in for the experiment. Dr. Dora, I hope you succeed. Then we’ll be on the same side."
"No, you can’t do this!"
Dr. Dora cried out in terror. Dr. Drake sneered, "Sorry, I can. In the near future, I’ll replace Blood God and become this world’s guardian."
With that, Dr. Drake waved his hand, ordering the security chief to take the two into the laboratory.
There were two tanks in the laboratory containing liquid symbiotes. Dr. Drake pressed a button, the tanks opened, and two masses of symbiote lunged at Eddie and Dr. Dora.
"Stay away from us!"
Eddie and Dr. Dora were horrified and hurriedly dodged the two liquid symbiotes. However, the laboratory was far too small. Just seconds later, the symbiotes landed on them and rapidly seeped into their bodies.
Eddie frantically pawed at himself. At that moment, a deep voice sounded in his mind. "Your body is not bad. I, Venom, will take it."
"What? What are you?"
Eddie shouted in terror. Venom chuckled but did not answer.
Eddie, a loser from Earth, and Venom, a loser from Symbiote Planet, officially fused.
While Eddie succeeded, Dr. Dora failed. Blood poured out of her entire body as though she were a sieve—the symbiote did not die and quickly crawled back into its tank. Without the tank’s aid, it could not survive on Earth for long.
Dr. Drake did not care. One success was already a pleasant surprise. He said excitedly, "Riot, our ranks have grown again."
"That is still not enough. The first wave only brought back a few symbiotes."
Riot’s voice sounded in Dr. Drake’s mind. "The second wave will bring millions."
Dr. Drake laughed loudly. "Then humanity will evolve."
"Although the process was different, Eddie still became Venom. Symbiotes, huh? I wonder if I can make use of them somehow?"
In the restaurant, Wang Bert’s thoughts stirred, but he did not pay much attention to it for now. If he intervened now, Eddie would not be able to grow. This boss was better left for Eddie to defeat himself.
Wang Bert was not omniscient or omnipotent after all. He did not know that Kingpin controlled the Life Foundation, since Kingpin’s people had never revealed themselves before Eddie.
Seeing Wang Bert distracted, the Female Prosecutor sitting opposite him asked curiously, "Mr. Wang, is something wrong?"
This Female Prosecutor was named Anne Weying, Eddie’s ex-girlfriend. Don’t misunderstand—Wang Bert was meeting Anne Weying because she could also fuse with a symbiote.
"It’s nothing."
Wang Bert smiled and asked, "Ms. Weying, have you ever thought about becoming a Super Hero?"
Weying smiled. "I have, but movies say that poor people rely on mutations while rich people rely on technology. I’m not rich, and I don’t have any mutant abilities, so even if I wanted to, I couldn’t."
Wang Bert smiled. "Maybe you’ll get the chance someday."
The next day, in New York, Spider-Ham strolled through a secluded alley in a cape while asking unhappily, "Why am I the bait? Are you discriminating against pigs?"
"Besides you, only Penny and Gwen haven’t shown themselves yet. The problem is, they’re human, so they can blend into crowds using their own appearances."
Blonde Spider-Man explained, "If they suddenly show up, it could easily make Kingpin suspicious. Compared to them, you make much more sense."
Spider-Ham snorted. "I get it. You really are discriminating against me. I demand hamburger compensation. Vegetarian burgers. You humans are too cruel. You actually eat meat."
"Animals eat meat too."
Blonde Spider-Man said, "Spider-Ham, a woman is being robbed in the alley on the street to your left. Go save her, then accidentally let your cape fall off so she sees what you look like. Finally, run away in panic."
As Spider-Ham changed direction, he asked, "Will that work?"
"It will, because agents will take photos of you and post them online. The internet in this world is advanced, and information spreads extremely fast. Kingpin and the others will learn about it soon enough."
Blonde Spider-Man said, "Kingpin should have some influence in this world."
"Fine. Remember to keep me safe. I don’t want to be turned into pork cutlets. Wow, humans really are evil. Piggies are so cute, how can you eat piggies?"
Blonde Spider-Man was a little speechless and a little embarrassed. Bacon burgers were his favorite.
Next, Spider-Ham acted according to the plan. His appearance was quickly posted online, sparking heated discussion.
"Is that an alien? By the way, don’t you think it looks a little like Spider-Man?"
"Haven’t there been way too many Spider-Men recently? Three Spider-Men appeared in Manhattan two days ago, and they were the real deal."
"Could Spider-Man be mass-produced now? Can I keep one as a pet?"
In the underground base, Dr. Octopus reported the news to Kingpin. Kingpin frowned. "That’s too much of a coincidence. There’s a fifty percent chance S.W.O.R.D. is setting something up."
"I think so too, but I think we can give it a try. They can’t capture Norman and Scorpion anyway."
Dr. Octopus said excitedly, "The more Spider-Men there are, the faster my research will progress. Kingpin, Spider-Man’s Spider-Sense is extremely interesting. If I can figure it out, it can not only help you find your wife and son, but also greatly increase our power. We may even become gods."
Kingpin was stunned. "Become gods?"
"Yes, become gods. Kingpin, don’t you want to become a god? A god like Blood God!"
Dr. Octopus said with a fanatical expression, "I’m incredibly grateful for this journey through time and space. It broadened my horizons and made me realize how insignificant my past ambitions were. I want to become a god. I want to explore the entire universe and uncover all the knowledge in existence."
"Gods?"
Kingpin could not help feeling excited as well. Once he became a god, he would no longer be an underground emperor, but a true emperor.
Furthermore, once he became a god, he would never again have to worry about anything happening to his wife and son. They would enjoy boundless power, wealth, and glory.
Their vision had been too narrow before. "Then let’s try it. Even if they capture Norman and Scorpion, they still won’t find our location."
Kingpin said this because he was completely certain that Norman and Scorpion would not leak their secrets.
In this world, Kingpin was extremely cautious. After all, there were powerful figures here.
"Good. I’ll have Norman and Scorpion be more careful. They’ll only strike after confirming there’s no ambush."
Dr. Octopus nodded in satisfaction. Coming to this world had truly been the right choice.
At noon on the third day, Spider-Ham was blocked in an alley by Norman and Scorpion.
Norman asked in shock, "A pig can become Spider-Man too?"
Scorpion’s eyes lit up. "I wonder if its meat tastes good?"
"You want to eat my meat?"
Spider-Ham became furious. He pulled a wooden hammer even bigger than himself from his pocket and charged viciously at Scorpion.
"How did you fit that hammer into your pocket?"
Scorpion looked utterly confused. Then, he turned his hand into a pincer and smashed it forcefully toward Spider-Ham’s head.
Spider-Ham nimbly dodged Scorpion’s pincer, then used the wall to leap into the air and brought his hammer down on Scorpion’s head.
To be honest, the blow was not heavy, but Scorpion felt unbelievably dizzy. He swayed from side to side and nearly fell over.
"That’s what you get for wanting to eat me. You humans have gone too far."
Spider-Ham landed on the ground and said arrogantly—he was a cartoon character, so science did not apply to him.
At that moment, Norman, in his Green Goblin form, suddenly pounced on Spider-Ham from behind. Spider-Ham could not dodge in time and was hit directly. Norman gave a sinister grin, grabbed Spider-Ham with one hand, and hurled him forcefully at the wall.
Just as Spider-Ham was about to suffer, a giant hand of earth suddenly emerged from the ground and grabbed Norman by the ankle. The hand yanked hard, and Norman slammed into the ground with a bang, kicking up a large cloud of dust.
Spider-Ham used the opportunity to break free. He angrily raised his hammer and swung it at Norman, but Norman immediately turned into an afterimage and flapped his wings into the air.
Norman then looked down and saw a figure slowly floating up from the ground. His expression darkened as he asked, "Earth Demon? So it really was a trap."
"Of course it was a trap. Norman, you won’t escape this time."
Blonde Spider-Man, Peter, Middle-Aged Spider-Man, and Spider-Gwen appeared around them simultaneously and shouted. They had previously hidden in secret using invisibility material. As for Earth Demon, S.W.O.R.D. had specifically invited him to protect Spider-Ham.
S.W.O.R.D. would not allow its bait to come to harm.
Scorpion regained his senses and shouted with a ferocious expression, "You think this is enough to capture us?"
"Whether it is or not, we’ll find out."
The four Spider-Men did not waste any words. They leaped forward together, and before they even arrived, four masses of webbing shot simultaneously toward Norman and Scorpion.
