Vision’s Death
Ebony Maw floated in the air. With a casual wave of his hand, he unleashed terrifying telekinesis, crushing the armor Tony Stark had left behind.
In Bai Cangshu’s view, this level of combat power already surpassed most members of the Avengers.
He knew very well that this world had most likely formed based on the movie universe. Whether it was Ebony Maw or the other superheroes, none possessed the exaggerated levels of power they had in their individual comic runs.
Even so, the injured Vision was steadily being driven back by Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive working together.
Cull Obsidian, with his massive frame, rampaged through the tower like a tank, destroying every weapon system in sight.
Ebony Maw’s sinister gaze looked down upon Bai Cangshu from above. That energy beam just now had been fairly powerful. On this Earth, Ebony Maw had encountered several individuals with decent strength.
But aside from the person outside wielding powerful magic in the sky, there were not many who caught his attention.
This black-haired human before him counted as one.
Buzz~
With a gentle wave of one hand, the crushed armor, shattered walls, tables, and chairs all rose into the air. Then, compressed by telekinesis, they rapidly warped and spun, turning into pellets of varying sizes in the blink of an eye.
Judging from such precise control and telekinetic strength, Bai Cangshu estimated that even this movie-universe version of Ebony Maw possessed combat power roughly at the Fierce-tier.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…
The pellets shot forth with piercing whistles, far faster than gunfire.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three dull impacts rang out. All three pellets were deflected away at an angle from Bai Cangshu’s body, smashing into the concrete floor and leaving huge craters behind.
A rounded, distorted force field appeared around Bai Cangshu’s body. Ebony Maw clenched one hand, and Bai Cangshu felt an immense force descend upon him.
The next moment, Ebony Maw lifted him directly into the space between floors.
Yet Bai Cangshu was watching Vision struggle more and more. This hero, who should have been powerful, was now being forced into a difficult position because his Vibranium body could not withstand that War Blade.
Like an ordinary person facing a thug armed with a sharp weapon, he instinctively fell into a disadvantage.
Bai Cangshu raised his chin slightly. From every possible angle, the special superheroes of this world always gave him an overwhelmingly weak impression.
Those with powerful combat techniques lacked the physical strength or special abilities to match them.
Conversely, those blessed with immense innate power relied too heavily upon it, leaving themselves incredibly frail in other respects.
At their core, these people were still merely ordinary people who happened to work part-time as "heroes," fighting amid danger.
From that perspective, Reincarnators were far superior to them.
"You are not their companion?"
As Ebony Maw moved his fingers, large amounts of metal were pulled from within the walls and began spinning continuously around Bai Cangshu. The metal twisted into spirals, grew increasingly sharp, and stood suspended all around him.
Bai Cangshu withdrew his gaze from the "frail" Vision. Feeling the telekinesis pressing against his body, he knew that his brain activity was currently only being maintained at an ordinary person’s level, so he could not further analyze more information about Ebony Maw.
Still, he twisted his neck. Amid a series of cracking sounds, Ebony Maw felt his hand being forced open bit by bit.
He saw scales gleaming with strange radiance emerge across the black-haired man’s body. Then, he began to feel that the person in his grasp had transformed into a humanoid Fierce Beast.
"What does that matter?"
Bai Cangshu spread his hands apart. Telekinesis was certainly a convenient power, but it was far from invincible.
"Mr. Ebony Maw, could you do me a favor?"
Ebony Maw intensified his telekinesis and slowly descended from the air toward Bai Cangshu. As his mind concentrated, his telekinetic power multiplied.
Yet the other party was still resisting. His strength was no weaker than Cull Obsidian’s, and from his composed expression, Ebony Maw could tell that he possessed an even stronger trump card.
"A favor?"
On the other side, Vision used Kamui to drop through the floors. Ebony Maw split his attention and used telekinesis to directly blast apart the floors, while Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive wounded Vision once more.
At the same time, alarms began blaring throughout Stark Tower.
"Yes. I hope you can do me a favor. That is… could you kill Mr. Vision a little faster?"
Bai Cangshu said this with a smile. At the same time, he fully spread his hands, and the Three Parts Return to Origin Force around his body expanded into a sphere three meters in diameter, blocking the telekinesis outside.
He dropped to the ground, and the floor immediately began crumbling. With force radiating in every direction, Bai Cangshu was like a humanoid bulldozer as he directly descended toward the floor below.
Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight, who had once again pierced Vision’s waist and abdomen with the War Blade, both turned around. Seeing Bai Cangshu drift down from above, their faces filled with vigilance.
Cull Obsidian let out a low roar. In a few thunderous strides, he stomped across the floor and lunged at Bai Cangshu with his entire body. His strength was immense, and his bodily defenses were even more astonishing. He did not fear the force field around Bai Cangshu’s body.
But Bai Cangshu did not even look at him. As Cull Obsidian approached, he took a step to the side, evading the pounce while pushing forward with his left hand in front of the other man.
Cull Obsidian’s massive body smashed through the tower’s glass and flew out of the building.
A moment later, a thunderous crash sounded. Cull Obsidian had likely struck the ground.
Bai Cangshu did not stop walking and continued toward Vision.
At that moment, Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive both sensed an inexplicable pressure from Bai Cangshu.
They had not seen what had happened just now at all. Cull Obsidian had looked more like he had rammed himself out of the building.
Ebony Maw flew over from behind. He raised his hand, intending to try controlling Bai Cangshu again, but Bai Cangshu’s feet blurred as they stomped dozens of times in an instant, and he vanished.
Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive suddenly found their hands empty. Vision had already been snatched away from before them.
Thump, thump, thump!
Cull Obsidian angrily climbed out of a crater hundreds of meters wide and covered in web-like cracks, then ran toward Stark Tower again. But Iron Man was already flying in from the distant sky, repeatedly blasting Cull Obsidian with lasers.
The instant Stark received the alarm, he realized something was wrong and immediately returned.
Boom!
He had only just knocked back Cull Obsidian, whose massive body resembled Hulk’s, when a tremendous shockwave erupted from his tower.
A terrifying psychic force spread outward in a ring.
In that instant, Tony Stark’s heart went cold. He keenly realized that something extremely terrible had happened.
The next moment, two black figures were blasted from the upper levels of the building like cannonballs.
Iron Man dodged in midair and flew swiftly toward the floor where the explosion had occurred. But when he reached it, he saw Vision lying lifeless on the ground, his head split open down the middle.
Meanwhile, a strange figure in black robes floated in the air, one hand loosely gripping someone.
That person wore a black trench coat and was held aloft. Inside the tower, everything seemed to be affected by an invisible force, continuously compressing inward, with the black-haired man at its center.
It was Mercenary Tao…
It was not him who attacked Vision?!
From an angle Iron Man could not see, Ebony Maw looked at the man who had just sent Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight flying with incomparably fierce movements. The curve of his lips was utterly terrifying.
This guy… that had been his purpose…
