#272
War Begins, Betrayal
"No face?"
Wang Bert’s words enraged the Blood Demon God. Gritting his teeth, he said, "Blood God, I will drain every last drop of blood from your body and make you vanish completely from this universe."
"Likewise."
Wang Bert snorted and turned to the Lizard Dragon God. "You came for the authority?"
"That’s right."
The Lizard Dragon God did not deny it. He nodded and said, "Return half of the Dragon World’s authority to me, and I’ll leave immediately. I can even help you hold back the Blood Demon God."
The Blood Demon God glared furiously at the Lizard Dragon God. None of these allies were reliable today.
Wang Bert smiled. "Lizard Dragon God, let’s make a different deal. Give me the other half of the authority you possess, and I’ll let you leave safely."
When the Dragon God had died, he had given Wang Bert a Dragon Tooth. Wang Bert had seen through the fact that the Dragon Tooth was a trap and had not taken it immediately.
Later, Wang Bert devoured the Dragon God’s soul and learned the secret of the Dragon Tooth from his memories.
The Dragon Tooth was poisonous—not the Dragon God’s own poison, but the Decay Poison of the world that the Dragon God had obtained from somewhere. Even a god would decay and die once infected by this poison.
Because there was very little of this poison and it was difficult to control, the Dragon God had hidden it inside the Dragon Tooth as his final trump card.
Furthermore, the world authority really was hidden within the Dragon Tooth, but aside from the Dragon God himself, no one knew how to extract it.
After acquiring the Dragon God’s memories, Wang Bert extracted the world authority and merged it into the Dragon Soul. Unfortunately, it was only half, not enough to control the Dragon World.
Wang Bert had originally intended to visit the Dragon World after completing his transformation and have a talk with the Lizard Dragon God. Unexpectedly, the Lizard Dragon God had delivered himself to his doorstep, saving him quite a bit of trouble.
Hearing Wang Bert’s words, the Lizard Dragon God was so furious that he laughed instead. "Blood God, in that case, I can only take the authority from your corpse."
"Then come."
Wang Bert smiled disdainfully. Finally, he turned to the Serpent God Set and said, "That crown on your head is rather nice. I’ll be taking it."
"If you hid on Earth, there really would be nothing I could do to you. Unfortunately, you’re too stupid. You actually came out to die."
Seth could not help laughing. He sneered, "I will kill you, then breach Earth’s Defense Net, descend into the Main Universe, and devour the entire universe."
"So ancient gods can indulge in delusions too. Fine, we’ve said enough. Let’s begin."
With a thought from Wang Bert, the Dragon Soul Clone stepped out of his body and stood on his left. Immediately afterward, a figure appeared out of thin air on his right. It was Elektra, and she looked extremely excited. She could finally be useful.
"Elektra, hold back Seth."
Wang Bert transferred God’s Cloak onto Elektra and instructed her—an inferior horse against a superior horse. With Elektra’s immortal body and God’s Cloak, holding Seth back would not be a problem.
Elektra nodded without hesitation. "Leave it to me, Master."
The Dragon Soul Clone smiled. "No need to tell me. I’m obviously handling the Lizard Dragon God. Don’t worry about it. I’ll devour him and take his authority."
"End this quickly."
Wang Bert nodded and strode toward the Blood Demon God. He would devour the Blood Demon God as quickly as possible, then deal with the Serpent God Set.
The three battles began at almost the same time. Let us introduce them one by one, starting with the battlefield between Elektra and the Serpent God Set.
Seth sized Elektra up, then cursed irritably, "Blood God has quite some nerve. He actually sent a servant, an experiment, to humiliate me?"
"So what if I’m humiliating you? If you can, kill me."
Elektra snorted and transformed into hundreds of afterimages, attacking Seth from every direction.
"I won’t merely kill you. I’ll devour you too."
All seven of Seth’s heads roared at once. The void shook continuously, and every afterimage vanished. Even Elektra, who wore the cloak, was forced to reveal herself.
He really is powerful. No wonder Master only told me to hold him back.
Red light lit up in Elektra’s eyes as two Heat Rays shot fiercely toward one of Seth’s heads. Seth did not even bother dodging. He opened his mouth and spat out a green beam to meet the Heat Rays.
Immediately afterward, Seth’s other six heads traveled through space and instantly appeared around Elektra, biting down at her viciously.
Elektra opened her mouth and spewed out a large amount of freezing air to block Seth. Then, she used God’s Cloak to travel behind Seth, and her Heat Rays slammed into the back of his head, burning two holes directly through it.
Seth let out a pained roar and swept his tail through the void at Elektra. Elektra Teleported behind the tail and viciously stabbed it with a Vibranium dagger.
Then, Elektra pulled hard. Seth’s tail was ripped open with a huge gash, and blood formed from magic bloomed in the void.
"Her cloak is unusual. It possesses the Space Concept."
Seth realized he had underestimated Elektra and hurriedly put away his contempt. He twisted his body, and his seven heads surrounded Elektra.
Then, Seth’s seven heads began devouring space at the same time. Yes, devouring space. As an ancient god, Seth possessed the concept of devouring. Even the void could be swallowed by him.
Sensing trouble, Elektra immediately tried to Teleport, only to discover that Seth had severed the surrounding void. She could only Teleport within this circle and could not escape it.
"As expected of an ancient god. Extraordinary indeed."
Elektra transformed herself into a shadow and quickly fled toward one of the heads. At this point, she could only break through one head and force her way out of this area.
"You think you can hide from me?"
Seth smiled disdainfully. One of his heads transformed the Space Power it had just devoured into a Space Storm, sweeping it toward the hidden Elektra.
Elektra smiled smugly and suddenly Teleported to the side of that head. Then, her body exploded with a boom, perishing together with Seth’s head.
Immediately afterward, God’s Cloak wrapped around Elektra’s remaining flesh and blood, broke through the blockade, and escaped outside.
Then, Elektra’s flesh and blood rapidly reassembled. In less than the time it took to draw a breath, she had fully recovered.
"Servant!"
Having been tricked, Seth flew into a rage. While rapidly repairing his damaged head, he used psychic power to attack Elektra’s soul.
However, to Seth’s surprise, Elektra had no soul in her body at all—after successfully advancing, she had voluntarily entrusted her soul to Wang Bert for safekeeping.
This was not a token of allegiance. On one hand, it allowed her to be with Wang Bert at all times. On the other, Wang Bert possessed the power of The Beast. With her soul residing in him, Elektra could continuously resurrect and remain immune to psychic attacks.
It was resurrection, far stronger than self-healing or regeneration.
"Ancient god, let’s take our time. Let’s see who racks up the better record."
Elektra chuckled and charged at Seth once more.
"I will devour you!"
Seth roared. Given his status, if he could not even handle a servant, how could he continue mingling among the ancient gods?
Next, let us turn to the Dragon Soul Clone and the Lizard Dragon God.
The Lizard Dragon God looked at the Dragon Soul Clone and asked in surprise, "Why do you carry that old bastard’s aura?"
The Dragon Soul Clone rolled his shoulders and said, "Because I devoured that old bastard. And that will be your fate next."
"That old bastard spent his whole life secretly devouring others, only to be devoured by someone else in the end. What fitting retribution."
The Lizard Dragon God sneered. "As for devouring me, you’re dreaming. If that old bastard had not controlled the other half of the authority, I would have killed him long ago."
"Sorry, I don’t have time to chat, because my background music has already started playing."
The Dragon Soul Clone did not waste words. He suddenly appeared before the Lizard Dragon God. His left palm sealed space while his right palm struck fiercely, carrying a caved-in void toward the Lizard Dragon God.
"Wait, why is there music around us? This is the void. Sound cannot travel here."
The Lizard Dragon God was somewhat surprised. He threw a punch to meet the Dragon Soul Clone’s palm. With a bang, the Dragon Soul Clone did not move an inch, while the Lizard Dragon God drifted backward.
"Your strength is actually greater than mine?"
The Lizard Dragon God was greatly shocked. It was worth noting that all their conversations were conducted through psychic power, so they were not restricted by the environment and did not require translators.
"Isn’t that only natural? The student surpasses the master."
The Dragon Soul Clone sucked fiercely with his left palm, and the Lizard Dragon God flew over uncontrollably. Then, the Dragon Soul Clone’s right palm turned a miserable green and descended upon the Lizard Dragon God like an overwhelming canopy.
Ten Thousand Poisons Palm.
"Deadly poison?"
The Lizard Dragon God did not dare be careless. A Divine Tool Broadsword appeared in his hand out of thin air, and he unleashed sword light toward the Dragon Soul Clone.
The Dragon Soul Clone caught the Divine Tool Broadsword between his palms and gave it a violent shake. The Lizard Dragon God could not hold on, and the broadsword shot into the sky.
The Lizard Dragon God snorted coldly and controlled the broadsword from afar. It shone brilliantly, and then hundreds of Western dragons flew out from it, rushing densely toward the Dragon Soul Clone.
"So it’s a sword that devours its own kind."
The Dragon Soul Clone smiled disdainfully and swung both palms upward. More than a hundred Dragon Gods roared out and clashed with the Western dragons. After putting up only slight resistance, the Western dragons swiftly crumbled.
"How could this be?"
The Lizard Dragon God could not understand it at all. At that moment, the Dragon Soul Clone attacked again. After exchanging several moves with him, the Lizard Dragon God discovered that he was completely outmatched in close combat.
It was not that the Lizard Dragon God’s fighting techniques were poor. Wang Bert’s qi was simply too varied—Drilling Force, penetrating force, adhesive force… The Lizard Dragon God, encountering these techniques for the first time, had no idea how to defend against them.
Furthermore, the Dragon Soul Clone could control space. Every attack shook or twisted the void, leaving the Lizard Dragon God unable to guard against them. Several times, he was nearly struck.
The Lizard Dragon God gritted his teeth and decided to stop fighting in close quarters. He exchanged a palm strike with the Dragon Soul Clone, borrowed the force to retreat rapidly, and then his body swiftly expanded. In a short time, he transformed into a pitch-black dragon hundreds of meters long.
The Dragon Soul Clone sneered. "You’re clearly a black dragon, yet you transformed into a white man. That’s racial discrimination."
The Lizard Dragon God could not be bothered with nonsense. He opened his massive mouth, and a black sphere rapidly expanded within it. Then, the sphere turned into a destructive beam that howled forth, making the entire void tremble.
The Dragon Soul Clone smiled disdainfully and assumed a Tai Chi stance. Then, he circled with his left hand, twisting the void. The destructive beam made a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree turn in midair and blasted back toward the Lizard Dragon God himself.
The Lizard Dragon God was startled and hurriedly dispersed the destructive beam. At that moment, a green poisonous dragon suddenly emerged beneath the beam and slammed viciously into the Lizard Dragon God’s huge belly.
The Lizard Dragon God let out a shrill scream. A terrifying hole was corroded through his belly, and blood poured downward as if it cost nothing.
The Dragon Soul Clone formed claws with both hands and spread them to the sides. A massive suction force formed, and the Lizard Dragon God’s blood turned into streams that flew madly toward the Dragon Soul Clone, who rapidly devoured them.
Star Sucking Art.
Naturally, the Lizard Dragon God would not sit still and wait for death. He sealed his wound with dark energy, then threw his head back and roared.
A vast amount of black cloud appeared out of thin air in the sky. Then, countless black-fire meteorites rained down violently upon the Dragon Soul Clone.
Forbidden Spell, Doomsday Meteor.
With a thought from the Dragon Soul Clone, more than a hundred Dragon Gods flew back and shattered every falling black-fire meteorite for him.
The Dragon Soul Clone himself rapidly vibrated his ten fingers. Then, he raised them and slashed forward fiercely, sending ten thin black lines toward the Lizard Dragon God.
Those were not ordinary thin lines. They were spatial cracks. This move was called Space Rending Sword Qi.
The Lizard Dragon God was terrified out of his wits. While dodging, he released a dark shield that firmly protected him.
The Dragon Soul Clone tapped the void with one finger, and the ten thin lines changed direction, striking the Lizard Dragon God with perfect accuracy. They easily tore apart his dark shield.
Then, the ten thin lines landed on the Lizard Dragon God. His wings were severed on the spot, and several terrifying wounds that nearly split him apart appeared across his body.
The Dragon Soul Clone pressed his advantage and used the Star Sucking Art again. Blood from the Lizard Dragon God’s body surged toward the Dragon Soul Clone like gushing springs, and he devoured vast amounts of it.
The Lizard Dragon God shot the Dragon Soul Clone a shocked and furious glance, then turned and fled.
There was no helping it. He simply could not win. The Lizard Dragon God could not understand why his opponent was this powerful. Even the Dragon God of the past had only been evenly matched with him.
The Lizard Dragon God did not know that the same energy could display completely different power in different hands.
The Dragon God could only unleash one hundred percent, while the Dragon Soul Clone could unleash two hundred percent.
"Think you can escape?"
The Dragon Soul Clone snorted coldly and quickly gave chase. He was determined to devour this dragon today. Not even God could stop him.
Before introducing the battle between Wang Bert and the Blood Demon God, let us have a brief interlude—at Kamar-Taj, Kaecilius, his face gloomy, knocked out the librarian. Then, he walked to the bookshelf and took down the sealed Darkhold.
Because the Darkhold was sealed and stored within a Vibranium box, Kaecilius did not open it here. He tucked the box into his clothes, walked to another bookshelf, and took down a book with a gemstone embedded in its cover.
Kaecilius then opened the book and tore out the page that recorded the ritual for summoning Dormammu. He turned and left the library to gather his trusted followers.
"Ancient One, you hypocrite, I will make you pay."
Kaecilius cursed, unaware that Ancient One and the Blood God had watched his actions from beginning to end.
The Blood God projection said, "Master, Kaecilius bears deep hatred toward you."
Ancient One sighed. "His nature is too extreme. Still, this is the path he chose himself. He has no one else to blame."
"He brought it upon himself."
The Blood God projection asked, "Master, are you ready?"
"I am. Before I step down, I will help Kamar-Taj completely eliminate the scourge that is Dormammu."
Ancient One said calmly. The Blood God projection nodded. Once the events of "Avengers: Age of Ultron" ended, it would be time for the events of "Dr. Strange."
