A Formidable Enemy Comes Knocking
Skye had been very happy these past few days. Every day, she chatted with her father and cooked with her mother. She had never experienced such leisurely days in her life. She had also officially changed her name to Daisy Johnson.
Moreover, the place where they lived was extremely remote. The Inhumans had lived there for many years without ever being discovered by the outside world.
As Jiaying’s daughter, Daisy also possessed the Inhuman gene. She could awaken it through the Terrigen Crystal hidden inside the Obelisk, and those who awakened would randomly develop superpowers.
Daisy was already both a Magnetic Field Warrior and a Graviton Warrior, so she did not particularly care what superpower she might gain as an Inhuman. However, according to Jiaying, only Inhumans were allowed to live in the settlement. Thus, Daisy had no choice but to follow Jiaying’s wishes and take part in the awakening ceremony as well.
The Terrigen Crystal was limited in quantity, so she underwent the awakening together with the others.
Daisy successfully awakened the ability to control waves. Because she had such excellent control over her body, she quickly mastered the ability perfectly as soon as she awakened. The others, however, found it difficult to control the superpowers that had appeared out of nowhere. They even frequently injured those around them, just like most Mutants when they first awakened.
To prevent them from hurting others and doing things they would regret, Jiaying locked away everyone who had yet to master their abilities.
Daisy felt sorry for them, so after calling her master Zhan Liu for advice, she volunteered to teach them Ultimate Limit Qigong. Jiaying naturally hoped that the Inhumans would gain better control over their abilities, so she did not refuse.
Many of the Inhumans here had spent their entire lives without ever leaving this place. They were all extremely simple and kindhearted, and they got along very well with Daisy.
However, even while living in this paradise, she had not forgotten to make trouble for Hydra. She called President of the United States Steve Rogers and told him that S.H.I.E.L.D. had been infiltrated by Hydra. Surely this Captain America, who had fought Hydra for many years, would not let them off.
Sure enough, it was not long before the Inhumans living outside sent back word that New York had begun a massive manhunt for Hydra, and many people within S.H.I.E.L.D. had also been suspended pending investigation.
Daisy did not know that Peter had arranged all this and thought her call had worked. So, these past few days, whenever Captain America called to ask about the truth behind the alien invasion, she had eagerly told Steve every bit of intelligence she knew.
Captain America was worth trusting, after all!
That day, Daisy was chatting with Jiaying, hoping to persuade her mother to change her mind and let her father remain in the settlement so the family of three could live together.
But suddenly, thunder boomed, and someone abruptly tore through the air and appeared above the settlement.
Daisy was startled. Just from the rolling thunder, she knew that the newcomer was an expert capable of breaking the sound barrier with his physical body. In the world today, only Magnetic Field Warriors could do that.
With a flash, she appeared in front of Jiaying.
Many Inhuman abilities were extremely powerful, but their defenses were far too fragile. Against a Magnetic Field Warrior, lacking sufficient defense meant certain death.
Then, with another flash, Gordon noticed that something had gone wrong here and teleported over as well.
"Gordon, take my mother somewhere safe. Leave the fighting here to me!"
Gordon nodded, placed a hand on Jiaying, and vanished with her worried-looking face.
The Magnetic Field Warrior in the sky merely watched everything happen without trying to stop them. Instead, he slowly descended.
"Not bad abilities, but they’re meaningless. You will all submit to me in the end!" he said arrogantly, his eyes cold.
As he spoke, Daisy felt as if something were burrowing into her head. She hurriedly unleashed all her abilities, using her Magnetic Field Force, gravity manipulation, and wave control in succession. She immediately cleared away every influence.
"Hm?" The newcomer was startled. He had not expected the Inhuman before him to resist his control.
"It looks like taking you without a fight won’t be easy. In that case, I’ll loosen my muscles a little!"
He raised a hand and slammed down with a heavy fist. His power level was astonishingly at the Fifty Heavens!
Daisy’s scalp prickled as the shadow of death instantly enveloped her heart. Almost instinctively, she gathered all her strength together and blasted it out.
"Gravity Trap!"
A gravitational field was compressed around her fist. Amplified by Daisy’s Magnetic Field Force, it formed a massive gravitational vortex near her fist, pulling the enemy’s body toward it. His attack was also affected by the field and veered slightly off course.
The heavy fist that had originally been aimed at Daisy’s head ultimately landed on her right fist. When the two fists collided, Daisy’s fist shattered with a boom like a rotten watermelon, sending bone and flesh flying in all directions.
The shock wave from their clash should have flattened everything within several miles, but it was drawn in by Daisy’s gravitational field. In the end, only several hundred meters around them were completely destroyed.
Daisy let out a miserable scream. The three powers within her began boiling wildly. Under their mutual influence, her Magnetic Field Force rapidly increased, surging upward in leaps.
Tenth Heaven!
Fifteenth Heaven!
Twentieth Heaven!
"Daisy…" Carl’s voice came from far away as she rushed toward the battlefield at top speed.
"Don’t come over! Hurry and have Gordon take you away!" Daisy shouted urgently in that direction. At the same time, she leaped high into the air once more and brought down a heavy punch with her other hand.
"Die!"
"Black Hole Fist!"
This attack was stronger than the last. Magnetic force densely filled the gravitational field. Although it was still nowhere near the point where even light could not escape, it already possessed the rudimentary shape of a black hole.
The newcomer sneered and slapped the gravitational field apart, twisting and deforming Daisy’s left hand as well.
Immediately afterward, he stepped forward and easily blasted through her Protective Astral Energy. Then, he grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the ground by the neck.
Blood streamed from all seven of Daisy’s orifices. She felt tiny things burrowing in through her wounds and heading straight for her brain. She struggled to muster all her Magnetic Field Force, attempting to drive the foreign objects out of her body, but the enemy suppressed her. She could only barely preserve her consciousness from falling under his control.
At the same time, the Gravitonium within her body began to flow, starting to devour the tiny organisms that had entered her.
"Tsk!" The newcomer frowned. He had failed to control Daisy in one move, which left him rather displeased.
"Die!" Carl’s eyes were bloodshot. No one knew how many drugs she had taken to keep herself going, but she had managed to charge into the battlefield and launch a desperate attack at the enemy.
"No! Don’t! Run!" Seeing her father risk her life to save her, Daisy felt both moved and worried. She was even more frightened. Under the violent surge of her emotions, her resistance grew another level stronger.
