Alpha-level Mutant
Sabretooth being angry did not surprise Richard.
If the Department of Mutant Affairs had created a clone of him, he would have been just as angry as Sabretooth.
More than that, unlike Sabretooth, who merely wanted to teach the Department of Mutant Affairs a lesson, he would have considered wiping out the Department of Mutant Affairs completely.
"What about Clarice?"
"Are you planning to have Clarice take part in the operation too?"
Richard asked Sabretooth.
If the system had not issued the "Son of the Devil (II)" mission, he would not have minded waiting a few more days.
But that was not an option now.
The system had only given him three days to complete the mission.
Although he wanted Sephiroth’s skills more right now, that did not mean he had no interest in Summoned Swords at all.
"Although Clarice has not received combat training, she can open Spatial Gates to get us in. She can also open one to extract us when we leave."
Sabretooth immediately responded.
Although Clarice would not need to fight and only had to stay outside to open Spatial Gates, Richard still did not think it was a good idea to let her join the operation.
However, he did not intend to oppose Sabretooth’s plan either.
After all, Sabretooth was Clarice’s adoptive father.
As soon as Sabretooth finished speaking, Clarice said softly:
"Although I can currently only open Spatial Gates up to twenty kilometers away, as long as you signal me and let me know where you are, I can open a Spatial Gate to get you out."
Her ability was not suited for direct combat, but that did not mean she had no desire to take part in the operation.
Richard fell silent for a few seconds, then said to Clarice, "Then I’ll leave the task of extracting us to you."
"Mm-hmm."
Clarice quickly nodded.
Los Angeles.
The rooftop of a building.
The location of the Department of Mutant Affairs Los Angeles Branch was no secret.
Clarice first created a Spatial Gate to Los Angeles, bringing Richard and Sabretooth there.
Then she created another Spatial Gate to the rooftop of this building.
Although the Department of Mutant Affairs Los Angeles Branch was only a few hundred meters away, Richard and the others had no intention of launching an attack immediately.
Richard’s magic had not fully recovered yet, and Sabretooth and Clarice also needed to rest and eat.
After studying the Department of Mutant Affairs building a few hundred meters away, Richard said to Sabretooth, "You must have already thought about how to get in and kill your clone. Tell me your plan."
In terms of strength, Richard was far stronger than Sabretooth.
But when it came to combat experience, even ten Richards would not compare to Sabretooth.
After he and Wolverine had "run away from home," Sabretooth and Wolverine had participated in every war in the United States.
Including but not limited to the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Vietnam War, and more.
Although he was not the commanding type, he truly possessed extremely extensive combat experience.
Hearing Richard’s words, Sabretooth frowned and said:
"I have considered how to get in, but the battle plan I made may not suit you. Besides, you don’t have a Healing Ability like mine, so…"
Before Sabretooth could finish, Richard interrupted him. "Who said I don’t have Super Self-Healing?"
"You have Super Self-Healing too?"
Sabretooth and Clarice looked at him with surprise.
"Yeah. It may not be as strong as yours, but rapidly healing injuries isn’t a problem."
Richard answered modestly.
At first, the Super Self-Healing he had Plundered from McCaw truly had not compared to Sabretooth’s.
But his Super Self-Healing had now been enhanced twice.
After killing Inessa and the other two, Super Self-Healing had fused with the Healing Factor and been enhanced once.
After killing Aiden and the others, Super Self-Healing had been enhanced once again.
Although the system had not shown the exact level of his Super Self-Healing, he believed that even if it was still inferior to Sabretooth’s and Wolverine’s, it should not be far behind.
McCaw himself was a Beta-level Mutant, so his Super Self-Healing was naturally Beta-level as well.
Wolverine and Sabretooth were likewise Beta-level Mutants.
Although powers of the same level could vary in strength, his Super Self-Healing had been enhanced twice no matter what.
If it still fell far short of Sabretooth and Wolverine’s after that, it would have made little sense.
"Just how many powers have you awakened?"
Sabretooth asked with a frown.
When they first met, he had thought Richard had awakened only two powers: Summon Long Blade and Flash.
But after seeing Richard reap the lives of Aiden and the others like the Grim Reaper, he realized things were not that simple.
When killing Aiden’s group, Richard had used Great Blizzard, Great Lightning, Repulsion, Super Strength, and Super Constitution right in front of them.
Not knowing the truth, Sabretooth had taken both the Sephiroth Template’s skills and the powers Richard had Plundered for abilities Richard himself had awakened.
Sabretooth had seen plenty of mutants with two or three powers.
To say nothing else, he and Wolverine both possessed several powers at once.
Bone Claws, Super Self-Healing, and beast-like senses.
But in nearly two hundred years of life, this was the first time he had seen a mutant with seven or eight powers at once.
"Personal privacy. Not convenient to disclose."
Richard said slowly.
Although Sabretooth was merely curious and had no ill intent, Richard still had no intention of revealing all his hole cards to him.
"If you don’t want to say, forget it."
"If you have Super Self-Healing too, then this becomes much simpler."
"I already had someone gather information about the situation inside. I know roughly where my clone will be."
"We can use the Spatial Gate Clarice opens to get inside, then kill my clone and rescue your father as quickly as possible."
"Once that’s done, Clarice can open a Spatial Gate to get us out."
Sabretooth laid out his plan.
This was not his original plan, since his initial idea had been to send Clarice to the School for Mutants.
After hearing Sabretooth’s plan, Richard replied calmly, "Fine. We’ll do it your way."
After fighting Inessa, Aiden, and the others—or rather, after killing them—he had discovered that the Department of Mutant Affairs Los Angeles Branch was not as strong as he had expected.
He felt this way partly because Inessa and Aiden’s group had not posed a threat to his life.
The other reason was that he had yet to encounter a failed Plunder.
He could currently only Plunder Beta-level powers, which meant Inessa, Aiden, and the others were not Alpha-level Mutants.
"Since you have no objections, we’ll move tonight."
After saying that, Sabretooth looked toward Clarice, preparing to have her create a Spatial Gate to leave.
At that moment, Richard took a jacket from the System Space and handed it to Sabretooth.
Sabretooth said nothing. He simply took the jacket and put it on.
Once Sabretooth had put on the jacket, Clarice created a Teleportation Portal from the building rooftop.
The suburbs of Los Angeles.
A rundown apartment building.
After passing through the Spatial Gate Clarice had created, Richard and the others arrived in an apartment with extremely "plain" interior decor.
"This is where Clarice and I live in Los Angeles."
Before Richard could speak, Sabretooth’s voice rang out.
