Summoned Swords
Although he did not fully agree with some of Professor X and the X-Men’s methods, Richard had to admit that both Professor X and the X-Men possessed the admirable virtue of helping others.
If any mutant truly ran into trouble and came to them for help, they generally would not refuse.
"Call them?"
Sabretooth looked at Richard in surprise.
"Yes, just call them directly."
"As long as you explain everything clearly and explicitly state that Clarice wants to go to the School for Mutants, they’ll send someone over on their own."
Richard said unhurriedly.
Although he had no intention of going to the School for Mutants himself, he did not mind giving Sabretooth and Clarice a little advice.
"Are you sure that’ll really work?"
Sabretooth still found it hard to believe that the X-Men would so easily send someone to pick Clarice up.
"I can’t guarantee they’ll come one hundred percent, but there’s at least an eighty percent chance they will."
"Unless you and Clarice have done something utterly unforgivable."
Richard continued.
After hearing his explanation, Sabretooth fell silent.
A few seconds later, he said, "I don’t have their contact information."
Uh…
Then go find it!
Richard complained inwardly.
"Don’t ask me. I don’t have their contact information either."
"But if you really want to find them, getting their contact information won’t be difficult."
"All right, I’ve given you my advice. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving."
After saying that, Richard prepared to use Flash to leave.
Although his current maximum Flash distance was only five hundred meters, that was already enough for traveling.
Unlike the Spatial Gates Clarice created, using Flash did not consume much energy.
Even if he used it hundreds of times in a row, it would not put any strain on him.
Seeing that he was about to use Flash to leave, Sabretooth immediately stopped him. "Wait a moment."
"What else is there?" Richard asked.
"I’ve changed my mind. I’m not sending Clarice to the School for Mutants."
"Help me deal with my clone, and in return, I’ll tell you where your father is being held."
Sabretooth said quickly.
Although he was not the original owner of this body and had merely taken it over, Sabretooth’s words still piqued Richard’s interest.
On his first day after transmigrating, he had considered rescuing the original owner’s father as repayment for taking over his body.
However, he did not know where the original owner’s father was being held, and he lacked the strength to rescue anyone from the Department of Mutant Affairs, so he had temporarily set the idea aside.
After thinking it over, he said to Sabretooth, "It’s not that I don’t believe you. I’m just curious—how do you know where my father is being held?"
"As far as I know, only a small number of people within the Department of Mutant Affairs know the exact location of the Mutant Prison."
There were many mutants who opposed the Mutant Restriction Act, and many Unregistered Mutants had been captured by Mutant Agents.
But so far, Richard had never heard of anyone or any organization successfully rescuing people imprisoned in the Mutant Prison.
Even the renowned Magneto had not rescued members of the Brotherhood of Mutants after they were captured.
That was not because Magneto in this world was weak. It was because the exact location of the Mutant Prison had always been classified.
Even with Mystique, a natural-born spy, Magneto still did not know where the Mutant Prison was.
Otherwise, given his personality and methods, he would have led people to break them out long ago.
"I never said I knew where the Mutant Prison was. I only said I knew where your father is currently being held."
Sabretooth said slowly.
"What’s the difference?"
Richard asked with a frown.
"Of course there’s a difference!"
"Your father was indeed captured by the Department of Mutant Affairs, but he hasn’t been sent to a prison specifically for mutants."
Sabretooth immediately explained.
Although he had not said where the original owner’s father was being held, Richard had already guessed it.
"The Los Angeles Branch!"
"My father is still being held at the Department of Mutant Affairs Los Angeles Branch, right?"
Richard asked Sabretooth.
"That’s right. Your father is still in the Los Angeles Branch."
Sabretooth replied immediately.
"How do you know?"
Richard continued.
"The guy who was guarding Clarice and me told someone."
"The one whose head you cut off, the guy who could fire energy from his hands."
"While he was guarding Clarice and me, he happened to bring it up while chatting with someone else."
"More importantly, he threatened Clarice, saying that we would end up like your father and be thoroughly studied in the branch’s laboratory."
Sabretooth did not waste any time and answered quickly.
His expression was sincere, and he did not appear to be lying.
But for some reason, Richard felt that something was off.
Were the Department of Mutant Affairs agents really this careless?
Did they not even have the most basic sense of confidentiality? After thinking it over carefully, Richard asked Sabretooth, "Your clone wasn’t made by the Department of Mutant Affairs too, was it?"
Sabretooth said nothing and simply nodded.
Capturing mutants while cloning mutants!
That was very much the United States’ style!
Although Sabretooth had no other evidence to prove his words, Richard believed he was not lying.
Just as he was about to agree and accompany Sabretooth to the Department of Mutant Affairs Los Angeles Branch, the system issued a new mission. Its details immediately appeared before his eyes.
Mission: Son of the Devil (2)Task content: It is only proper to return what one receives. Go to the Department of Mutant Affairs Los Angeles Branch and kill 12 Mutant Agents!Task reward: Summoned SwordsTask deadline: 3 days...Why was it another one of Vergil’s abilities?
I have Sephiroth’s template now! Even if it doesn’t reward Divine Judgment, Heartless Angel, or One-Winged Angel Form, it could at least reward skills like Hellgate, Shadow Flare, or Aerith’s Judgment!
Although he also liked Vergil and knew that Summoned Swords looked cool in combat, Richard still complained inwardly.
After closing the Mission Panel, he said to Sabretooth, "I can go with you to the Department of Mutant Affairs Los Angeles Branch, but let me remind you of something. Even if you kill every clone in the Los Angeles Branch, that doesn’t mean they won’t be able to make another ‘you’ later."
"There must be plenty of backups of the mutant-cloning technology, your blood samples, and so on."
Upon hearing that, Sabretooth quickly replied, "I know all that. I’m just sick of these bastards casually making clones of me!"
"Even if I can’t destroy the mutant-cloning technology and the blood samples, I’ll make them understand the consequences of creating my clone!"
