Argument
"Director Fury, your skin is getting thicker by the day."
Hearing Nick Fury’s words, Steve felt a toothache. "I seriously suspect even an Annihilation Cannon couldn’t get through it."
"I’m actually starting to hope Skye doesn’t get elected," Tony said.
"You don’t understand anything. Oh, give me a Resurrection Amulet, in case I die in battle someday."
Nick Fury looked disdainful. "Also, if I die, remember to have Blood God set my age to eighteen."
"Your information network really is efficient."
Steve shook his head, took out a Resurrection Amulet, and handed it to Nick Fury. Thinking of something, he sighed. "I wonder how the Frontlines are doing? Those bugs don’t even take prisoners."
"The situation is fairly stable."
Tony opened a light screen and pointed at the small red region on it. "Red represents the insect race. They’re currently attacking the Heavenfall Star System.
The Heavenfall Star System has many small meteorite belts, and there are relatively few spatial jump points. It’s very suitable for defense. The insect race may have great numbers, but if they can’t get their troops through, those numbers are useless.
The Skrull Empire and the Shi’ar Empire have a good grasp of the bigger picture. Once they saw the situation, they immediately dispatched part of their forces to support the Frontlines, helping the warlords fight the insect race."
"Where did you get this intelligence?"
Nick Fury asked suspiciously. "Isn’t this information only available to the upper ranks?"
"I had Jarvis hack into the Inhuman Kingdom’s network."
Tony shrugged. "Jarvis is the pinnacle of Kree Empire technology. Cracking a network is child’s play."
"And you have the nerve to look down on me?"
Nick Fury complained. "The situation is stable for now, but only temporarily. Once the insect race is ready, the Heavenfall Star System won’t be able to stop them."
"Hopefully, the alliance can be established soon. Then we can go all out and wipe out the insect race."
After thinking for a moment, Steve asked, "Should we send a fleet to the Frontlines to test the waters and gather intelligence? With the portals, they can return at any time."
"That could work," Tony said after some thought. "Send Ivan and Doctor Doom. They’re both lunatics. The battlefield is the perfect place for them."
Steve nodded. "All right. Fury Elder, lend us a flagship. This time, we only brought the Celestial Head with us."
"No problem. I’ll have Jessica go with you."
Nick Fury nodded. "Let’s discuss how to get Skye into office. This elder position is very important to us."
Before Nick Fury could finish speaking, a planetary representative below suddenly shouted at Skye, "You’re just a little girl still wet behind the ears. What gives you the right to become an elder?"
"Exactly. Why should you? The Inhuman Kingdom’s strength isn’t worth mentioning."
"If I remember correctly, aren’t you wanted by the Kree Empire? I suggest we arrest her first."
"Little girl, don’t think being the convener makes you anything special. You’re not qualified for an elder’s seat."
These accusations infuriated Skye. She slammed her hand against the table and shouted, "Why? Because I, Skye, am a Planet Ender."
With that, Skye activated her ability. The surrounding air began vibrating violently, and everyone felt themselves being crushed by an enormous force. Their expressions changed at once as they hurriedly deployed small Defense Shields.
But to their shock, in less than a second, every one of those small Defense Shields shattered with a crash.
Grand Duchess Sarah shouted angrily, "Skye, what do you mean by this? Do you think we’ll submit to your force?"
"We will never submit! Skye, if you dare attack us, we’ll destroy the Inhuman Kingdom."
The planetary representatives roared in outrage as they used their communicators to call for reinforcements. Just then, Skye suddenly withdrew her shockwave.
Then, under everyone’s gaze, Skye declared, "I was only showing you my strength. You must treat me with respect, because if I wish it, I can destroy your planets at any time.
In this universe, quality matters more than quantity. A super powerhouse can easily destroy a fleet, a planet, even a star system.
One of the Five Great Elders must be a super powerhouse. I, Skye, am competing for that seat, and I believe I’m qualified."
"A super powerhouse?"
Everyone froze. After thinking it over, they realized Skye was right. One of the Five Great Elders had to be a super powerhouse.
Only then could they keep other powerhouses in line and make them obey.
"Skye really has Bert’s style."
Steve could not help laughing. He contacted Earth’s representative, Dr. Banner. "Go up and support her later. We need to get her elected as an elder."
"No problem," Dr. Banner said with a smile. "Though Hulk thinks he’s a bit stronger."
"I support Skye’s election as an elder. One of the Five Great Elders must be a super powerhouse."
Duke Brie said, "This is both necessary for the war situation and a sign of respect for the strong."
"I agree that one of the Five Great Elders should be a super powerhouse."
Grand Duchess Sarah glanced at Duke Brie and said, "But Skye is not the strongest among us. Even if she were, we must consider whether other powerhouses would submit to her and whether they would be willing to follow her commands.
An elder is a commander, not a thug."
"I don’t know about other super powerhouses, but I’m willing to follow Skye’s commands."
Dr. Banner stated his position. A planetary representative beside him sneered, "You count as a super powerhouse? Your thigh isn’t even as thick as my arm."
Dr. Banner chuckled, removed his glasses, and then rapidly swelled in size, transforming into the towering Hulk. He looked down at the planetary representative from above.
The representative immediately grew nervous. Hulk smiled disdainfully and stomped hard. The entire building shook, and dust came cascading down.
Then Hulk asked the representative, "I can easily destroy a city. Do I count as a super powerhouse?"
The representative trembled as he answered, "Y-yes. Absolutely."
"I can destroy a fleet. Do I count as a super powerhouse?"
Black Bolt spoke through his psionic voice device from nearby. "I support Skye becoming an elder."
Quite a few planetary representatives were startled. Compared to Hulk, Black Bolt was more famous—in the Xandar Battle, he had destroyed several flagships.
Captain Marvel Carol flew over in a blaze of light. "Count me in. I’m willing to follow my junior sister’s command."
"Junior sister?"
Everyone was astonished. Queen Skye was actually Captain Marvel’s junior sister? With Captain Marvel stepping forward, many planetary representatives changed their minds—Captain Marvel was a cosmic-level superhero with an enormous reputation across the Milky Way Galaxy.
Grand Duchess Sarah’s expression darkened somewhat. At that moment, Centurion Lindy of Xandar said, "I believe Skye is qualified for the elder position. She is Blood God’s disciple. She will not disappoint us."
"Sovereign agrees as well."
"The Ravagers Alliance seconds the motion."
Sovereign and the Ravagers Alliance declared their support at the same time. Seeing the tide turning, Grand Duchess Sarah hurriedly said, "Strength must be proven by facts. I suggest holding a martial competition to choose the strongest and most widely recognized alliance elder."
"We don’t have that much time to waste."
Duke Brie objected. "How about this? We hold a seven-on-seven match. Queen Skye will lead super powerhouses against the challengers. Then we’ll know whether Queen Skye is qualified to be an elder."
"I agree with this method."
Queen Skye nodded without hesitation. With Earth and her senior sister helping her, what did she have to fear?
After considering it, Grand Duchess Sarah said, "No problem. The match will be held tomorrow. For now, let’s elect the final elder."
"Fine."
Everyone voiced their agreement. Upon hearing this, Asgard King Thor immediately stood and shouted, "I am Asgard’s king, Thor. I nominate myself as an elder."
"Asgard?"
The planetary representatives were somewhat surprised. One representative sneered, "Asgard declined long ago. What right do you have to become an elder?"
Others added, "Exactly. Whoever gets the seat, it won’t be Asgard."
Thor said angrily, "What did you say? Want me to beat you up?"
"Brute! Asgard lacks both strength and virtue. It isn’t qualified to have an elder."
"That’s right. Not qualified."
The representatives nodded one after another. Though Asgard had some reputation in the universe, it was only a little. If Odin were present, they might have had some hope. But Thor? Ha. Who even knew who he was?
Thor was furious and argued fiercely with the representatives. But how could one mouth compete with hundreds? Before long, he was cursed until his face turned red and smoke practically poured from his ears. With an angry roar, he raised his axe, ready to start chopping people.
Seeing this, Skye quickly had someone throw Thor out—she was the organizer.
"Asgard’s Thor?"
Grand Duchess Sarah’s eyes flickered as she sent someone to contact Thor. Odin had been so powerful; his son should not be too weak.
After Thor was thrown out, everyone continued electing the fifth elder. Several major forces of roughly equal strength wanted the seat, and the argument became extremely fierce.
Beside the venue, a bald young man in jeans and a black T-shirt sipped milk tea and sighed. "What a disorganized mess. Expecting these people to save the universe is pure fantasy."
"There’s nothing we can do. They have no leader."
Twenty-year-old Little Hela, with long straight black hair, said, "In the entire universe, only you, Master, can be the alliance leader. Since you refuse to step forward, of course they’ll remain a disorganized mess."
Behind Little Hela stood two Valkyries—Valkyrie and Brunhilde. Valkyrie, the dark-skinned woman, asked in confusion, "Blood God, since you’re here, why don’t you step forward and become the alliance leader?"
Besides Little Hela and the two Valkyries, Mindy was also present. She was currently maintaining an eighteen-year-old appearance, having grown up ahead of time.
The bald young man, Wang Bert’s god-level avatar, answered, "Too lazy."
Everyone was speechless. That was certainly a powerful reason.
"Besides being lazy, my status is too high for me to appear publicly. I am now a chess player behind the scenes, not a chess piece on the board."
Wang Bert said, "If I make a move, it means the final battle has begun."
Little Hela said, "Master, this is only one of your avatars. It might not even be able to defeat Hela."
"What do you know?"
Wang Bert tapped Little Hela on the head. "Do you know what this avatar of mine is called?"
Everyone asked curiously, "What is it called?"
"Invincible."
Wang Bert said, "Invincible King. Unless the Creator God makes a move, no one in this universe is my opponent. To match my strength, I even shaved my head bald."
"Master, names like that tend to get people beaten up, especially brutally. And what does being bald have to do with strength?"
Little Hela did not believe him at all. After all, Wang Bert’s avatar was only god-level.
"How is it unrelated? The less hair you have, the stronger you are. How does that saying go? I became stronger, and balder too."
Wang Bert did not elaborate. "Little Hela, Hela is ultimately your original template. This time, you must join the battle."
Little Hela nodded. "No problem. I also want more experience in war. After all, I’m going to become the Galaxy Speaker in the future."
"Good. I’ll have the Arena Legion accompany you. There are powerhouses like God of War Ares among them. Together with the Valkyrie Army, your safety will definitely be assured."
Upon hearing that, Valkyrie hurriedly said, "Blood God, not all of the Valkyrie Army has been resurrected yet."
"I will help resurrect the Valkyries, but the Valkyries must pledge loyalty to Little Hela."
Wang Bert said, "Just as you once served the Asgard royal family."
Valkyrie and Brunhilde looked at each other, then both nodded to Wang Bert. "As long as the Valkyrie Army can be resurrected, we are willing to serve Hela."
Little Hela said generously, "Don’t worry. I won’t treat you poorly. We’ll sign a contract every hundred years. If you’re dissatisfied with me, you can leave after a hundred years."
Valkyrie and Brunhilde both sighed in relief and said, "Yes, Master."
"All right, there’s no need to keep watching this assembly."
Wang Bert stood up. "Little Hela, once the assembly ends, bring Skye, Carol, and Jessica over. It’s time for you to graduate."
Little Hela and Mindy were both stunned. "Graduate?"
That night, in the presidential suite on the Inhuman Kingdom’s main planet.
When Skye saw Wang Bert’s shining bald head, she could not help teasing him. "Master, you changed identities again? And this time you picked a bald one. Are you planning to play a martial monk?"
"It’s the symbol of a powerhouse. What the hell do you know?"
Wang Bert snorted, raised a hand to open a portal, and teleported Trish and Lina, who was eating, over.
Trish, Jessica, Carol, Mindy, Lina, Little Hela, and Skye—Wang Bert’s disciples were basically all gathered.
Without wasting words, Wang Bert said, "I called you here this time to make up for your graduation ceremony."
Lina bit into a Chicken Leg and asked in confusion, "Graduate? Master, what does graduation mean?"
Wang Bert smiled. "It means you’ve learned everything you need to learn. You won’t need to attend classes anymore, and you can do whatever you want."
"So Master won’t feed me anymore?"
Lina was stunned. The Chicken Leg in her hand instantly no longer smelled so good.
"You little glutton, all you think about is food. Don’t worry, Master will keep feeding you."
Wang Bert rubbed Lina’s head. "Forget it, you shouldn’t graduate yet. Keep following me. When you grow up a little more, I’ll hand the Blood God Group’s food and beverage division over to you."
"That’s great."
Lina beamed with joy. She had no interest in graduating. She only wanted her current life to continue forever.
"Master, graduates are supposed to receive gifts, right?"
Skye asked with shining eyes. "For example, the Taiji Diagram or the Four Swords of Zhuxian?"
"Want me to give you the Creation Jade Plate too? Huh, Skye, your Chinese is pretty good. You can even understand Mythical Literature."
Wang Bert glared at Skye irritably. "You definitely aren’t getting the Taiji Diagram, but there are other gifts."
