Battle Against Chthon

Facing Adam’s provocation, the Eye Demon waved its tentacles and said, "You’re a little more troublesome than I imagined, but only a little."

Adam sneered. "Only a little? In Hell, I’m immortal."

"I wasn’t planning to kill you. That wouldn’t be fun. I’m going to turn you into a Chaos Creature."

The Eye Demon said, "That would be interesting."

"More than just interesting, right? Once you turn me into a Chaos Creature, I’ll lead you back into the Main Universe."

Adam snorted. The Eye Demon really was insane, that much was true, but it was not stupid. When it came to the bigger picture, it had no problems. Its behavior was merely rather absurd.

While speaking with the Eye Demon, Adam secretly transmitted his voice to Strange. "Once the Eye Demon activates Chaos Time-Space, act immediately and freeze its tentacles. Also, carefully sense the fluctuations of time around us. The Time Stone is ultimately only an external object. If you want to go further, you must comprehend the Time Concept."

"Understood."

Strange nodded almost imperceptibly, though he felt somewhat strange inside. The Sorcerer Supreme was being taught by Satan of Hell? Had the script been mixed up?

"Isn’t that only natural?"

The Eye Demon sneered as three tentacles lashed toward Adam at once. Adam rapidly swung his greatsword, sending streams of Hell Power transforming into sword qi that shot densely toward the Eye Demon.

The Eye Demon wildly swung its tentacles, destroying all the sword qi. Then, its tentacles appeared beside Adam out of thin air, attempting to bind him.

At that moment, a green light suddenly appeared, freezing the Eye Demon’s tentacles in place. Adam transformed his greatsword into a massive blade over a hundred meters long and viciously slashed down at the tentacles.

With a puff, the greatsword sank deeply into the Eye Demon’s tentacle and cleaved downward with unstoppable force. Just then, the tentacle broke free from time’s restraints and abruptly vanished.

Immediately afterward, three other tentacles smashed toward Adam at once. Adam swung his sword to block them and began a fierce battle with the Eye Demon. The surrounding space shattered completely, while the ground continuously caved in and collapsed.

Strange focused entirely on sensing time. The moment time became chaotic, he would immediately freeze the Eye Demon. With his assistance, Adam fought with increasing ferocity and did not fall behind in the slightest.

Previously, the Eye Demon had utterly crushed Adam and Strange. Now, the two sides were evenly matched.

This battle was destined to last a long time.

Let us turn back time a little. Within Fair Space, Chthon burst into laughter after hearing Wang Bert’s words.

"Blood God, I have to admit, you truly are impressive. You actually created a Fair Space capable of suppressing even Ancient Gods. Even a Creator God might not be able to accomplish such a thing."

Chthon said, "Unfortunately, you chose the wrong opponent. This Fair Space cannot deal with me. In fact, it cannot even deal with one of my projections."

Wang Bert asked with interest, "Why?"

"Because my greatest strength is not power, but Black Magic."

Chthon rose into the air, and the black mist around him transformed into dozens of deathly-looking runes. "With the Black Magic I possess, no one of the same level is my match. Even you, Blood God, are no exception."

Wang Bert said calmly, "Have you ever heard of One Punch Breaks All Laws?"

"I have never heard of it. Blood God, thank you for your Fair Space. I will kill you and seize this treasure."

Chthon did not waste words. He pushed both hands forward, and all the runes transformed into tiny black lights that shot toward Wang Bert.

These were not rays. They were Fingers of Death. Chthon’s projection could only release one Finger of Death, but Chthon’s true body could unleash dozens at once. The reason was simple: Chthon possessed the Black Magic Concept.

Chthon had become invincible among the Ancient Gods through Black Magic and the Black Magic Concept. Their combination was far more than merely one plus one.

Wang Bert showed no fear. He circled his hands, and space transformed into a giant mouth that swallowed all the black death qi. Then space calmed down, as if nothing had happened.

"The Space Concept? How is that possible?"

Chthon’s face filled with shock. Blood God had actually given the Space Concept to his clone? How was that possible? Did he no longer care about his life?

The Space Concept was Blood God’s primary concept. Without it, he likely could not even withstand a single punch from Galactus.

"I am the Space Lord. This space cannot be broken, and only I can use Space Magic within it."

A halo emerged around Wang Bert. It then merged into Fair Space, causing space to violently tremble and become incomparably sturdy. At the same time, the space recognized its master. Other than Wang Bert, no one could use Space Magic.

Space Concept—Space Lord! "Blood God, I never expected that in just a few short years, you would develop the Space Concept to such an extreme."

Chthon’s gaze narrowed before he sneered. "Unfortunately, you are too foolish. You actually gave the Space Concept to a clone. Hahaha, thank you for this gift. From now on, I will have the Space Concept as well."

"Poor bastard, I can hardly be bothered showing off to you any further."

Wang Bert smiled disdainfully and charged at Chthon like a cannonball. Chthon snorted coldly, and the black mist around him transformed into countless deformed monsters that surged toward Wang Bert. At the same time, Chthon hid within the black mist and vanished.

Wang Bert circled his right hand, and dozens of spatial halos appeared beside the monsters. The halos rapidly contracted, cutting every monster into dozens of pieces. They turned into black qi and dissipated.

That was not all. Wang Bert grabbed through the air with his left hand, tightly seizing Chthon’s neck. It was Space Grip.

Chthon showed no fear. Instead, a cold smile appeared on his face. Then his body collapsed, transforming into countless runes that branded themselves onto Wang Bert’s left arm.

It turned out that was not Chthon’s true body. He had used magic to deceive Wang Bert, then taken the chance to curse him.

Wang Bert acted decisively, turning his palm into a blade and cutting off his left arm. Then the muscles at the severed stump wriggled, and a new arm rapidly grew out.

At that moment, Chthon appeared beside the severed arm and grabbed toward it. Using an opponent’s flesh and blood to curse them would greatly increase the curse’s power.

Wang Bert’s expression changed slightly. With one hand, he slashed through the air, and layers of space cut toward Chthon like sharp blades.

The black mist around Chthon floated upward and transformed into a black page. Then a giant arm emerged from the page, shattering the spatial blades with one punch before continuing toward Wang Bert with undiminished force.

This was a hand Chthon had once sealed away. It possessed the strength of a Half-Step Ancient God.

Wang Bert pointed at the void, twisting it and changing the giant hand’s direction so that it smashed toward Chthon. Chthon grabbed Wang Bert’s arm, leaped up, and sat atop the giant hand. Then the giant hand changed direction again and slammed toward Wang Bert! Just as Wang Bert was about to use Space Magic, his consciousness suddenly blurred. He was dazed and muddled, not knowing where he was or what he was doing.

"The best curse for dealing with a clone is the Loss of Spirit Curse. A clone does not possess a complete soul, so it has enormous flaws in its mental defenses."

Chthon was extremely pleased with himself. At that moment, Wang Bert’s arm in his hand suddenly transformed into a blood-red blade and viciously stabbed toward him.

Chthon was startled and hurriedly flung a mass of black mist at the blade. The blade changed direction and fiercely stabbed into the giant arm. The giant arm exploded with a boom, and Chthon took the chance to escape.

Then the blood-red blade reverted to Wang Bert in midair, while the previous Wang Bert transformed into a wisp of blood qi and flew back into his body.

"You weren’t affected by the curse? That severed hand was deliberately used to lure me in?"

Chthon’s expression darkened somewhat—not because he had nearly been injured, but because someone had outmaneuvered him.

He was Chthon. He was always the one plotting against others, yet someone had actually turned the tables and plotted against him. He could not tolerate this insult.

"The so-called Great Demon God Chthon is nothing special after all."

Wang Bert sneered. "By the way, I haven’t even shown my true abilities yet. Space Magic is my true body’s specialty, not mine."

Everyone’s energy was limited. Wang Bert possessed many concepts, but he did not have enough time to comprehend every one of them individually. So, he gave a portion of his origin to the Bald Clone and had him research them before reclaiming it later.

The Dragon Soul Clone had a similar situation. What he researched was the Concept of Power—qi was a form of energy.

"Arrogant."

Chthon was enraged. The black mist around him suddenly transformed into countless runes, which gradually began to fuse together.

Naturally, Wang Bert would not simply watch. He clapped both hands forward, and the void surged toward Chthon like enormous waves. Chthon casually flicked out a rune, which transformed into a stone tablet in midair. The spatial waves immediately vanished.

This was the Space Stone Tablet, capable of suppressing space. Among the Ancient Gods, Chthon was famous for possessing countless treasures and trump cards. It could not be helped. He was powerful, and he possessed a great deal of Black Magic for finding treasures.

Wang Bert snorted coldly and grabbed through the air. The Space Stone Tablet exploded directly.

At that moment, the runes before Chthon fused together and transformed into a small Altar. Chthon did not waste time and immediately pulled an Ancient God’s heart from his body and placed it on the Altar.

Then Chthon shouted, "I demand that this place become even fairer."

Along with Chthon’s voice, the Altar lit up with dazzling black light that enveloped the heart completely. The black light then merged into the surrounding space, causing it to shake violently as another restriction appeared.

Using the Ancient God’s heart as a sacrifice, Chthon made everyone within the space unable to use Space Magic, including Wang Bert.

"Using my own strength against me? Not bad."

Wang Bert snorted. Under normal circumstances, Chthon could not seal his Space Magic. This time, he succeeded because of Fair Space.

Fair Space made everything fair.

"You’ve trapped yourself. Without Space Magic, what else can you do?"

Chthon sneered, and the black mist around him once again transformed into countless monsters that surged toward Wang Bert.

These monsters were all powerful beings who had died at Chthon’s hands. Each was filled with resentment and completely different from the previous wave of cannon fodder.

Red light lit up in Wang Bert’s eyes. Then two Heat Rays blasted out, reducing every monster struck to ashes.

That was not all. Wang Bert turned his head, sweeping the Heat Rays across the area. Every monster in their path vanished.

The remaining monsters crazily rushed before Wang Bert, baring their fangs and claws as they pounced at him.

Wang Bert smiled disdainfully, clenched his fist, and threw a punch. Vast power spread through the void, and all the monsters exploded at once with a boom, turning into black mist that dissipated.

Chthon was somewhat astonished. "What tremendous power."

"Didn’t you know my nickname is One-Punch Man?"

Wang Bert said proudly, his completely bald head gleaming within the space.

"You are merely a brute. I have plenty of ways to deal with you. I refuse to believe you possess the Concept of Power in addition to the Space Concept."

Chthon smiled dismissively and took out a piece of amber from his robes, one containing a drop of blood sealed inside. Then he summoned over ten thousand souls and poured them all into the amber.

The blood within the amber burst with dazzling light. Then it transformed into a huge phantom standing proudly in the void.

Wang Bert narrowed his eyes slightly. The arrival was actually Cyttorak, the Crimson God.

"Chthon really does have a lot of trump cards."

Wang Bert asked, "Old Cyttorak, when did you become Chthon’s lackey?"

"Blood God? Chthon?"

Cyttorak opened his eyes, somewhat surprised. He said, "I don’t like this place. The restrictions here are quite severe."

"Cyttorak, kill Blood God’s clone for me."

Chthon shouted. Cyttorak nodded and said, "Since I promised you, I will definitely help you deal with your enemy."

Then Cyttorak turned to Wang Bert and said, "Around several thousand years ago, Chthon made a bet with me. The wager was that the loser would act for the winner once. In the end, I lost."

Although Cyttorak did not explain everything, Wang Bert already understood what he meant. He smiled. "Chthon definitely schemed against you."

"That’s right. He schemed against me, but I did lose. A bet is a bet, and I must accept the result."

Cyttorak, the Crimson God, said, "Blood God, although I greatly dislike Chthon, I must kill you for him."

The Crimson God always kept his word! "Cyttorak, you cannot kill me."

Wang Bert said confidently, "In this space, no one but a Creator God can defeat me. Before long, not even a Creator God will be able to defeat me."

"A mere clone dares to be this arrogant?"

Chthon sneered. "Cyttorak, stop wasting words and kill him quickly. There are still countless souls outside waiting for me to harvest."

"Blood God, you are no match for me."

Cyttorak did not waste words. He strode forward, his fist carrying overwhelming force as it smashed viciously toward Wang Bert. If Wang Bert had not reinforced the space, it would have shattered long ago.

Wang Bert did not dodge. He met Cyttorak’s fist with one of his own. With a thunderous boom, the surroundings instantly became a vacuum. Cyttorak did not move an inch, and neither did Wang Bert.

If I believed I would not lose, then I would not lose. Besides, it wasn’t as if I had never killed Cyttorak before.

"How is this possible?"

Chthon was utterly shocked. Someone could actually match Cyttorak in strength?

"Good, good, good."

Cyttorak was also stunned for a moment before grinning excitedly. His fists attacked Wang Bert one after another like a violent storm. At a glance, the surroundings were filled with his fists.

Wang Bert still did not dodge. He stood in place and fought Cyttorak head-on. At first, Cyttorak had been the one attacking Wang Bert, but before long, Wang Bert took the initiative, forcing Cyttorak entirely onto the defensive.

"Your strength is formidable. That is your advantage, but it is also your weakness."

Wang Bert even had the leisure to lecture Cyttorak. "Your power is so great that you have no need for technique. Against other opponents, that is fine, but against me, it will not work."

Hulk had the same problem. Although he could control his strength, his combat technique was poor. He basically fought by brute force.
