Battle with Ego

"Enough. I’ve had enough, Grandmaster. Make Ego stop."

Runner couldn’t take it anymore and roared. Grandmaster shook his head and said, "It can’t be stopped. As Earthlings say, there’s no turning back once the bowstring is drawn."

"Grandmaster, do you know how many people you’ll get killed?"

Runner grew even angrier and walked over to punch Grandmaster, but Astronomer stopped him.

Astronomer looked coldly at Grandmaster and said, "Grandmaster, I will no longer participate in this matter. Also, at the next meeting, I will propose revoking your status as an Elder."

With that, Astronomer led Runner and Annihilator away through a treasure’s teleportation.

"Tch, hypocrite."

Grandmaster cursed disdainfully. Astronomer’s heart was far darker than his—he was a genuine villain, while Astronomer was a thoroughgoing hypocrite.

He let others do all the dirty work while keeping himself forever noble and righteous.

Grandmaster was not worried at all about Astronomer expelling him, because Astronomer needed someone to do his dirty work. He was merely polishing his own image.

"I hope you all die miserable deaths."

Grandmaster cursed, unaware that his curse would soon come true.

With a flash of light, Astronomer’s group appeared in a desolate world reeking of sulfur. They stared at the unfamiliar surroundings in shock. Where was this? Weren’t they supposed to have teleported back to their base? "Astronomer, Annihilator, Runner, welcome to Hell."

At that moment, Adam suddenly appeared beside them and said with a smile, "I’m Hell’s most handsome man, the future Satan, Adam."

That was right. This was Hell, though not Adam Hell—it was Demon Dragon Lord’s Demon Dragon Hell.

"Blood God, why did you move us here?"

Astronomer glanced at Adam, then raised his voice toward the sky. The only one capable of intercepting spatial teleportation was Blood God, who possessed the Space Stone. Grandmaster had guessed correctly: Blood God had returned to the Main Universe.

"Isn’t it obvious? Of course I sent you to Hell."

Adam laughed loudly and clapped his hands. Demon Dragon Lord and Succubus Lord appeared out of thin air with a group of high-ranking demons, surrounding the three completely.

"Blood God wants to kill us?"

Astronomer’s group was both shocked and enraged. Astronomer shouted, "Blood God, your sportsmanship is truly terrible. Aren’t you afraid the powerful beings of the universe will mock you?"

"I thought you were people before, so I made a bet with you. Turns out you’re all beasts."

Wang Bert’s cold voice rang out from the sky. "Astronomer, obediently go die. I’ll extract your souls and let tens of millions of Vengeful Souls tear into and devour you. This is the price you deserve to pay."

Astronomer hurriedly shouted, "That was Grandmaster’s idea. It had nothing to do with us."

"Astronomer, as an Elder of the Universe, have some backbone. Don’t make me look down on you."

Wang Bert said disdainfully, "Of course, you can keep denying it. It doesn’t matter, because you’re dead today. Blood God said so."

Astronomer began to panic. He shouted, "You dare kill me? I’m an Elder of the Universe! Do you know how many people I know? I even know Creator Gods!"

"So what? If Blood God wants to kill you, who can stop me? Adam, do it. Remember, leave their souls intact. If I don’t torment them, I won’t be able to let this go."

"You’re starting to sound a little like a villain."

Adam smiled and waved his hand. The two Hell Lords led the high-ranking demons in a charge, preparing to tear the three Elders of the Universe to pieces.

"You dare? Blood God, you dare?"

Astronomer completely panicked. Runner, however, calmed down. He glanced at Astronomer with contempt and said, "I know I deserve to die, but I won’t surrender without a fight. Come on, catch me. Let me complete the final run of my life."

With that, Runner ran into the sky, then sped into the distance. Adam snorted and transformed into a streak of light as he gave chase.

Watching the demons draw nearer, Astronomer cried in terror, "Blood God, I surrender! I can help you kill the other Elders. I can be your servant and guard the universe with you."

"Sorry, the universe doesn’t need you."

Wang Bert said scornfully. Astronomer wanted to say more, but the demons swarmed him, and shrill screams immediately rang out.

A minute later, Astronomer and Annihilator had been torn to pieces, while Runner was caught by Adam and had his neck snapped.

Wang Bert collected the souls of the three Elders of the Universe and shouted coldly, "Assemble the troops. Prepare for battle."

"Yes, Blood God."

Adam and the other two shouted in unison. They were all excited. There was no demon that did not love battle—it was a brand burned deep into their souls.

Blood, slaughter, souls, death—this was the meaning of demons’ existence.

On Ego Planet, Ego was controlling Star-Lord as he carried out his plan. At that moment, with a bang, the palace gates were smashed apart by Thor’s hammer.

Thor rushed inside and shouted, "I knew you weren’t a good person! Let Star-Lord go!"

"You knew nothing. And stop talking nonsense—just attack."

Rocket fired the Four-Eyed Energy Cannon at Ego repeatedly. Ego’s body was blasted into fragments. Gamora seized the chance to rush over, cut the energy whip apart with one slash, then grabbed Star-Lord and fled outside.

The ritual had been interrupted, and the energy mudslides on every planet froze in place. However, that did not mean it was over. Ego could activate them again.

"Why are we running? With Thor leading you, you will be invincible in every battle."

Thor shouted unhappily. No one paid him any attention. They fled toward the spaceship outside as fast as they could. Notably, Mantis was among them as well.

"Damn it, you bastards."

Thor glanced at Ego, who was rapidly regenerating, swallowed hard, and chose to follow Rocket and the others outside.

What a joke. He might not even be able to defeat Ego’s avatar, much less his true body.

Soon, everyone arrived outside. Just as they were about to board the Milano, an energy whip burst from underground and smashed the Milano in half with a single strike.

"Milano, you got smashed again."

The awakened Star-Lord shouted in anguish. Rocket fired wildly at the energy whip while yelling, "Shut up and fight!"

At that moment, a huge pillar of energy descended from the sky and instantly destroyed the energy whip. Then, a Ravager Mothership slowly descended from above.

Yondu’s voice came over the broadcast. "My child, your blue daddy is here to pick you up."

"Shut up. I’m allergic to the word ‘dad’ right now."

Star-Lord cursed first, then asked warily, "Wait, why are you here to pick me up? Are you plotting something?"

"What kind of plot could a father have when picking up his son? Get aboard first, then we’ll talk."

Yondu activated the tractor beam, and everyone except Thor was pulled aboard.

Thor looked utterly bewildered and shouted toward the mothership, "Hey, what do you mean by this?"

At that moment, four figures flew down from the Ravager Mothership: Carol, God of War Ares, Man-Thing, and Two-Headed Man.

Carol said, "We’re here to deal with Ego. If you’re afraid of dying, you can run."

"Afraid of dying? I’m Thor, the bravest man in the Nine Realms."

Ares smiled. "The most reckless man in the Nine Realms, more like."

"Shut up. Wait, have you surrendered to Bert?"

Ares answered frankly, "Blood God asked me whether I wanted to serve him after losing my memories, or serve him directly. I chose the latter."

Man-Thing and Two-Headed Man said, "Blood God pays more than Grandmaster, and Grandmaster is probably about to die. So we decided to switch sides."

"Fine. Then let’s fight together."

Thor raised his hammer and shouted. Carol gave him a disgusted look and flew straight toward the palace. Thor angrily chased after her, shouting, "Stealing my spotlight again! I’m the leader here."

Inside the Ravager Mothership, Star-Lord ran to the control room. Just as he was about to speak, Yondu lightly tapped him with a small silver hammer, and his memories instantly returned.

"Ego really is a bastard."

Star-Lord cursed through gritted teeth. "Yondu, I’ll control the weapons. Let’s blast him to death."

"That’s Rocket’s job."

Yondu tapped the little hammer, and it instantly vanished, returning to Blood God’s hand. Then he said, "Your job is to control the Celestial Light."

Star-Lord stared at him. "Control the Celestial Light?"

"Yes. Blood God said Ego can’t strip away your control over Celestial power. As long as you learn how to control it, your power on this planet won’t be inferior to Carol’s."

"Are you kidding me? It’s not like I haven’t used Celestial Light on this planet before. Carol could crush me with her little toe."

"Being able to use it and mastering it are two different things. You need to control Celestial power with your heart, just like I control my arrow with mine."

Yondu smiled. "Ego wasn’t a good teacher. Let your blue daddy teach you instead. Quill, everything you know was taught to you by me."

Star-Lord froze, then said awkwardly, "Can you not talk like that? I’m not used to it, and it’s disgusting. I prefer it when you yell at me fiercely."

"Quill, looks like you really do have certain preferences."

Rocket mocked him while taking control of the mothership’s attack systems. Gamora took over Yondu’s position and began piloting the ship.

Yondu smiled and said, "Don’t waste time. Let’s begin. Quill, whether we can defeat Ego depends on you."

"I have to kill him and avenge my mother."

Star-Lord shouted through gritted teeth. Gamora added from the side, "And avenge your brothers and sisters. Ego killed at least several hundred of his descendants. The place below is filled with bones."

"This is my fault."

Yondu sighed. "Quill, help me make up for all of this."

"I will."

Star-Lord nodded fiercely. Whether for himself or Yondu, he had to kill Ego.

Inside the palace, Ego looked at Carol and the others rushing in and shouted, "You can’t stop me. This is my planet."

"Why so much nonsense? Ego, your crimes are beyond measure, and you still want to endanger the universe. I’ll destroy you."

Carol wasted no words and fired a dazzling energy wave at Ego. The others immediately launched their attacks as well.

"I said, this is my planet."

Ego roared. A large number of energy whips burst from the ground, blocking all of Carol’s attacks before lashing fiercely toward them.

Everyone acted to block the energy whips. After repelling several attacks, Carol used Teleportation to appear behind Ego and lashed out with a brutal kick at his waist.

At that moment, an energy whip surged from the void behind Carol and tightly bound her.

"I told you, your understanding of space is shallow."

Ego clenched his hand tightly, and the energy whip squeezed Carol madly. Carol roared as light blazed from her body, forcibly bursting the energy whip apart into points of light that scattered through the air.

Seeing this, Ego immediately controlled three energy whips to attack Carol at once. Just as Carol was about to use Teleportation, Ego clapped his hands together, freezing the entire space.

This was Ego’s planet. He could slightly influence space.

Carol knocked away the three energy whips with fists and kicks, then charged fiercely at Ego. So what if she could not teleport? She could still beat this bastard up.

Ego snorted and was about to control more energy whips to attack when a hammer smashed into him, blasting half his body into ashes.

"Don’t forget about me."

Thor recalled his hammer and roared angrily. As Ego rapidly regenerated his body, he controlled energy whips to sweep toward Thor.

Ares led Man-Thing and Two-Headed Man over to help Thor block the energy whips, shouting at the same time, "Use your ultimate move and kill that guy!"

"Didn’t you say we shouldn’t use our ultimate moves casually?"

Lightning blazed around Thor. Then he soared high into the air and came crashing down toward Ego with countless bolts of thunder. Ego thrust both hands forward, sending a massive number of energy whips at Thor.

Boom, boom, boom! The energy whips and lightning violently collided in midair again and again. Great amounts of lightning and energy exploded, and the roof and pillars were battered by the shockwaves, crashing down in pieces.

At that moment, Carol tore apart three energy whips and gathered massive amounts of Space Energy into a tornado that engulfed Ego. Ego was instantly torn to pieces, and all the surrounding energy whips vanished.

Thor froze, then realized what had happened and roared at Ares, "You actually made me the bait?"

Before Ares could say anything, an energy whip several times thicker than the previous ones burst from underground and sent Thor flying with one lash. Then the entire palace shook violently as countless energy whips erupted from the ground.

"Get out of here."

Carol was startled and hurriedly led everyone out of the palace. The moment they escaped, the entire palace collapsed with a crash. Immediately afterward, countless energy whips shot into the sky, waving continuously like tentacles.

"You think you can kill me? Now, I’ll show you my true power."

Ego slowly emerged from the ruins. His power was too great and needed time to gradually awaken.

"He’s just a defeated opponent. Come on, kill him."

Carol charged at Ego without fear, and Thor and the others immediately followed.

As they rushed forward, Carol and the others attacked. Energy waves, lightning, red light, shockwaves, and vines bombarded Ego one after another.

"Before me, you are all nothing but ants."

Ego roared. Hundreds of energy whips swung at once, sweeping away both energy and lightning. Then the energy whips surged toward Carol and the others.

Even Carol and the others had no choice but to dodge repeatedly in the face of such powerful energy whips, temporarily avoiding their edge.

At that moment, dozens of energy blasts descended from the sky, shattering the energy whips one after another. Gamora and Rocket had arrived to provide support.
