Before the Plot, a Three-Year-Old at the Peak of Perfection

Huang Laoxie thought for a moment and said, "Let me think. This child appeared out of nowhere on Peach Blossom Island, so his name should include the character for heaven, right?"

Feng Heng froze for a moment. "Huang Tian?"

Su Yu: "…"

Su Yu had not used his Divine Core to alter anything concerning his name. Since he was here, he might as well follow the local customs and leave the naming to Huang Laoxie. But he had not expected… that name could not possibly have been serious, could it?

Huang Laoxie gave a wry smile. "That name definitely won’t do. Let’s add another character. Hmm… how about Huang Shaotian?"

Su Yu: "??? What the hell is this? Did Quan Zhi Gao Shou just barge in here?!"

After repeating it a few times, Feng Heng smiled. "Not bad. It sounds quite nice."

Su Yu: "…Damn it, next time I’d better interfere with my own name."

And so, Su Yu’s name, Huang Shaotian, was decided just like that. It made Su Yu’s balls ache. The moment he heard that name, he thought of Sword Saint Huang Shaotian from Quan Zhi Gao Shou, and his head immediately began to buzz.

Time flew by, and three years passed in the blink of an eye. Su Yu was now three years old, and Feng Heng had recently become pregnant. Once Su Yu learned of it, he knew Huang Rong was about to be born. During this time, Chen Xuanfeng and Mei Chaofeng would steal the second half of the Nine Yin Manual and elope from Peach Blossom Island. Huang Yaoshi would be overcome by fury and grief, while Feng Heng, seeking to comfort her husband, would painstakingly reconstruct the Nine Yin Manual from memory, exhausting herself until she died in childbirth.

After three years together, with Feng Heng caring for him so meticulously, Su Yu would never allow that to happen again. The simplest solution was to keep constant watch over Chen Xuanfeng and Mei Chaofeng. If either of them showed even the slightest sign of disloyalty, Su Yu would kill them without hesitation.

The martial world had seven realms: Third-rate martial artist, Second-rate martial artist, First-rate martial artist, Super first-rate martial artist, Top martial artist, Innate, and Grandmaster. Huang Laoxie and the other Five Greats were all Top martial artists, while Chen Xuanfeng and Mei Chaofeng were merely Second-rate martial artists.

Su Yu had not spent these three years idling away either. His internal energy had already been forced into the Innate realm, reaching the Peak of Perfection.

That was with Su Yu deliberately avoiding cultivation. Otherwise, he could have reached the peak in a day and become a Grandmaster in three.

Only Huang Laoxie and Feng Heng knew of Su Yu’s cultivation level on all of Peach Blossom Island. When Huang Laoxie first learned how quickly Su Yu cultivated, he was utterly shocked. He had seen plenty of geniuses and was one himself, but he had never seen anyone this monstrous.

After learning of Su Yu’s talent, Huang Laoxie did not sit idle. When Su Yu was only two, he began teaching him martial arts, only to be even more shocked. Su Yu learned whatever he was taught. Before long, Huang Laoxie had passed on all of his martial arts to Su Yu except the Blue Sea Tide Song.

It was not that Huang Laoxie was reluctant to teach him the Blue Sea Tide Song. Rather, Su Yu had been about as tall as his flute at the time. What could he possibly play? And due to his body, Su Yu had not yet played the guqin either. There was no helping it—he was not even as tall as a guqin.

After teaching him martial arts, Huang Laoxie taught him the Five Elements and eight Trigrams, Mysterious Doors and eight Trigrams, irrigation and agriculture, economics, and military strategy. Su Yu still learned everything at once, leaving Huang Laoxie and Feng Heng at a loss for words. Things that others could only attain through a lifetime of effort seemed to have been gained entirely by their son in just three years…

Of course, the more extraordinary their child was, the happier Huang Laoxie and Feng Heng became. Huang Laoxie had already made up his mind: once Su Yu could play the flute, he would immediately teach him his Blue Sea Tide Song.

Peach Blossom Shadow Falling Flying Divine Sword, Blue Sea Tide Song Played Upon the Jade Flute. The Blue Sea Tide Song might not have been Huang Laoxie’s strongest martial art, but it was definitely the coolest, so Su Yu intended to learn it as well.

Within the peach grove of Peach Blossom Island, Su Yu’s inconspicuous figure darted through the trees. He moved with incredible speed, covering the entire grove in no time. He was not wandering around aimlessly; he was perfecting the formation.

The peach grove on Peach Blossom Island was a large illusion formation, but Su Yu remembered that it had certain flaws. Whenever he had nothing to do, he liked coming here to improve it.

After all, Su Yu did not want outsiders to turn Peach Blossom Island into a complete mess years from now.

The martial world had no miraculous magic or anything of that sort, so Huang Laoxie could only arrange formations according to Peach Blossom Island’s terrain. But Su Yu knew that a place’s terrain changed over time, so he reluctantly used Mountain Whip and Stone Shift from the Thirty-Six Heavenly Transformations to stabilize Peach Blossom Island’s geography.

Then he used the Six Jia Mysterious Gate to perfect the formation. Without the method Su Yu had devised, not a single person would be able to break into Peach Blossom Island.

At dusk, Su Yu returned home. Seeing him come back, Feng Heng smiled, took his little hand, and led him toward the main hall. "You really shouldn’t spend all day wandering around the peach grove. Read more books when you have time."

Su Yu smiled and nodded. Soon, Feng Heng brought him into the main hall for dinner. Besides Huang Laoxie’s family of three, Huang Laoxie’s six disciples were also there. While eating, Su Yu occasionally watched Chen Xuanfeng and Mei Chaofeng and noticed them exchanging flirtatious glances from time to time.

Huang Laoxie, focused entirely on Feng Heng, failed to notice it.

After dinner, Huang Laoxie and Su Yu went up to the roof. The two sat there, as was their custom. Every night after dinner, they would sit on the roof until around ten.

Both gazed at the stars overhead, and even without speaking, neither felt awkward.

Before long, Huang Laoxie looked at Su Yu and said, "Shao Tian, starting tomorrow, I’ll teach you the Blue Sea Tide Song."

Su Yu paused, then said, "All right."

Huang Laoxie smiled and nodded. "Besides the Blue Sea Tide Song, I have another very powerful martial art here. Unfortunately, I only possess half of it. Do you want to learn it?"

Without much thought, Su Yu shook his head. "Father, there’s no need. The martial arts of Peach Blossom Island are already enough."

Hearing this, Huang Laoxie smiled so broadly that his eyes narrowed into slits.

In truth, Su Yu did not even want to learn Peach Blossom Island’s martial arts. He only wanted to use the guqin, but he had learned them before because he was bored.

The next morning, Su Yu and Huang Laoxie rose early. Huang Laoxie held two jade flutes in his hands and handed one to Su Yu. The jade flute was a huge object for Su Yu at his current size, but with his internal energy, holding it steady was no problem at all.

Huang Laoxie then took Su Yu away from their residence and headed to the other side of Peach Blossom Island. They certainly could not practice the Blue Sea Tide Song near their home. Feng Heng was pregnant now; if he blew away his unborn child, Huang Laoxie would probably go mad.

On the other side of Peach Blossom Island, Huang Laoxie first took out the score for the Blue Sea Tide Song and showed it to Su Yu, telling him to memorize it first.
