Chapter 39: Alien Predators
!!!
Rising from his deathbed, Cage suddenly sat up from a pile of luggage.
He looked left and right, finding himself in a military camp, his mood somewhat complex.
After experiencing this morning countless times, Cage already knew how to deal with it.
Cage calmly stood up, patted his clothes, brushed off non-existent dust, and then silently followed the master sergeant.
This time, however, a flicker of hope gradually ignited in Cage's increasingly empty eyes.
Both the appearance of Godzilla and the woman's words were enough to excite Cage.
What he feared was not reincarnation, but an unchanging reincarnation!
— "Roar!!!"
An angry roar erupted from Godzilla's mouth.
Any Creature, upon hearing this furious roar, could sense the anger of its owner.
Just a little, just that little bit!
He was so close to catching that guy, but he failed at the last moment.
What was wrong with that woman?
Why did she want to kill Cage?
Shouldn't humans be friendly and loving?
Why did they start fighting?
Also, Cage, you just died like that? Couldn't you have dodged?
But no matter how angry Godzilla was, it couldn't change the fact that he had returned to square one.
Although Godzilla came from outside this world and was not a native species of this world, and its own spatiotemporal power allowed him to retain memories during time resets.
But it couldn't keep himself in the "original spot" during a time reset.
Damn it, if I had known this world was so troublesome, Godzilla wouldn't have come.
He should have waited until he had greater control over spatiotemporal power before coming.
But now, letting Godzilla leave this world, he was unwilling.
And Godzilla, he was a little too excited!
If he didn't crush Omega until it burst, Godzilla's thoughts wouldn't be clear!
After venting on the sea surface, Godzilla swam towards the shore.
Before Godzilla could even see the Land, his vision blurred, and he was back to square one.
—
Godzilla was already used to this.
Given Cage's self-destructive personality, it was not surprising when he died.
And Godzilla, having gotten stuck in a rut, turned its head and continued swimming towards the battlefield.
He was determined to find that guy today, keep him by his side for protection, and then, once he got Omega, immediately kill him!
Godzilla was not joking!
— After dying countless times, Cage finally met the woman who told him to find her.
In this military camp, she was, arguably, the Valkyrie known to everyone except him—"Full Metal Warrior" Rita Vrataski.
After a series of conversations, Cage learned from Rita what his ability was all about.
But for more detailed information, he had to find another person, he was the expert in this area!
After talking with Dr. Carter, Cage learned the origin of everything—Omega.
He also knew that if he died enough times, he would eventually learn the location of Omega.
But another matter, the monster that appeared on the battlefield, even Dr. Carter didn't know what it was.
Just as Cage felt that both Rita and Dr. Carter thought he was lying, that there was no giant unknown Creature at all, a voice in his ear brought him back to his senses.
"Cage, listen, that giant Creature is very likely not an Earth Creature, just like those Alien creatures, it comes from the stars, and its target may also be Omega."
"— Omega?"
Cage subconsciously repeated the phrase.
He could hardly believe it.
If it was about time loops, Rita could understand it because of her experiences, and Dr. Carter was an expert in that field, so they believed him.
But that giant Creature, over a hundred meters tall, surely it should have been a hallucination he experienced at the brink of death, right? You actually believed it!?
"No, such a large Creature, shouldn't you think it doesn't exist?"
"Cage, you must know, the world above us is vast, and compared to those, our world is as tiny as a speck of dust on Earth."
Dr. Carter earnestly patted Cage's shoulder and continued, "In this world, it's possible for any kind of Creature to appear. What we should do is not reject them, but accept them."
"Alright, please continue."
Cage used polite language.
"That Creature is very likely attracted by Omega."
"If Cage is not mistaken, with such a massive size, it is definitely a top predator in the universe. It's normal for a special Creature like Omega to attract other Creatures."
"But you don't need to worry too much about it. We are still safe for now, and how to deal with that Creature is not our concern."
Dr. Carter was right.
As long as Omega was not dealt with, the time reset would not disappear. Therefore, "during this time," no matter how powerful that Creature was, it wouldn't cause much harm.
And now, whether Omega could be dealt with was still a question.
The best outcome would be for them to solve Omega, and then that Creature, having lost its prey, would leave Earth.
The worst outcome would either be them solving Omega, which would then turn into a battle between that Creature and Earth.
If Cage had not been mistaken, with such a huge size, and being able to move freely on Earth.
Even without any special abilities, its body's hardness far exceeded steel. He didn't know how humans could destroy such a monster!
And another worst outcome was that Omega was not solved, they failed, and Earth completely fell.
After that, it would be the battle between that Alien predator and Omega.
But those things were no longer their concern.
Compared to the worried Dr. Carter, Cage and Rita were much simpler.
They had only one mission: training!
Although Cage had found it as easy as slicing vegetables to kill Alien creatures on the battlefield before.
But that was merely muscle memory formed by utilizing time resets, remembering the locations of all Alien creatures, and eliminating them countless times.
Cage himself had not undergone any professional training.
Therefore, Rita utilized Cage's ability to perform time resets to devise a brutal training regimen!
If he hadn't been able to perform time resets, anyone else would have died countless times over.
