Chapter 89: Fine-tuning from the Witch
"Klisa, can you tell me what happened after I died?"
Xu Xi continued to question the witch.
He was curious and puzzled about what exactly had happened to the witch after the second simulator ended, leading to the words 'Supreme God' appearing on the simulator's result panel.
"Yes, after you left…"
Klisa parted her lips and, in a calm tone, recounted the story of what happened after Xu Xi died.
It began with the discovery of the manuscript in the study.
Then came the eradication of the churches of the gods and the rooting out of faith in deities.
Next was the assault on the Heavenly Realm.
Klisa's tone was steady and devoid of any emotion, like a mechanical recitation, as she related the past word by word.
Upon hearing that Klisa had crushed the crown of the Magic World, Xu Xi fell into silence, wearing an expression of existential doubt—had he really become a sacrifice?!
But the shock the witch brought was far greater than that.
Setting out to Chaos, crusading against the myriad worlds, and battling the gods of the heavens.
Klisa was incredibly fierce.
That dazzling battle record and astonishing speed of Breakthrough made Xu Xi doubt for a moment whether the witch who could crush the gods of Chaos was the same person he knew.
"It's truly unbelievable…"
After listening to Klisa's narration, Xu Xi looked at her calm, well-behaved face; he couldn't reconcile it with the so-called Supreme Witch.
A Supreme God transcending Strong Divine Power?
The Lord of Time and Space who symbolizes creation and the end?
The eternal Immortal who transcends Chaos?
Xu Xi did not understand gods; his only knowledge of them was the tiny, insignificant scrap of Divine Power released by the God of Light when Alenson destroyed the city.
He could not imagine what kind of might those even more terrifying and lofty Strong Divine Powers would command.
He could imagine even less.
How incredible an existence the witch who possessed these terrifying titles and truly transcended the myriad worlds must be. In the end, only a vague impression remained in Xu Xi's mind.
Strong! Supreme! Super strong!
"It's good that you're safe." After marveling at the witch's growth, Xu Xi reached out his hand and gently rubbed the top of her head.
His voice was soft, filled with heartache and affection.
As for the witch's strength, Xu Xi didn't actually care. What he was more concerned about was the thrilling journey the witch had endured; fortunately, everything had ended safely.
According to the original plan.
Xu Xi had wanted Klisa to live a stable life in the Magic World.
Living a quiet, reclusive life.
He had never expected that his death would cause such a massive shock, emboldening Klisa to overthrow the gods and tread a path that Xu Xi had never imagined.
Was this a blessing in disguise?
Xu Xi felt it was not.
If time could turn back, even if he had known the witch would become a Supreme God, Xu Xi would not have allowed her to go and fight.
Compared to so-called power, he was more concerned about the witch's safety.
This alone, this alone, was what Xu Xi cared about most.
"Thump—"
Xu Xi curled his index finger and tapped the witch's smooth forehead gently, admonishing her, "You must not be so reckless in the future."
"Yes…"
The witch covered her forehead blankly.
Although she had answered, her expression made one doubt whether she had truly listened.
The living room was empty, and the lights were dim. As the two sat there, it should have been filled with a sense of desolation and loneliness, but for some reason, the scolded witch only felt at ease.
She knew the reason.
Because Xu Xi, her sun, was right by her side, bringing the witch peace and warmth.
Next.
Xu Xi began to ask about other matters.
He briefly learned about the changes in Klisa's life after the second simulator ended, as well as her power and authority as a Supreme God.
Suddenly, Xu Xi thought of an important question.
"Klisa, is the one sitting here talking to me your true form?"
Xu Xi's expression was hesitant.
Earth was too fragile. Compared to the vast celestial bodies in the Universe, it was undoubtedly unremarkable.
Even if it had started to ascend and expand, it was nowhere near the level required to withstand a Supreme God. Yet, how could he explain the Klisa before him?
Klisa answered, "I met… a kind person."
"A kind person?"
"Yes. He taught me and reminded me that I could project my consciousness. The one sitting here talking to you is merely a strand of my consciousness…"
"So that's how it is."
Xu Xi realized.
No wonder the witch could ignore her Supreme nature and descend onto the fragile Earth; it was only because what appeared before him was merely an insignificant strand of her being.
That being the case, being able to reunite with Klisa early…
He certainly had to properly thank that kind person.
They must be a kind-hearted, powerful, and equally indescribable Great God, right?
"What a good person indeed," Xu Xi sighed. He had originally thought that in the supernatural system, the stronger one was, the more indifferent they tended to be. He hadn't expected there to be such a helpful existence.
Xu Xi did not see.
As he moved his wrist, the eternal teardrop that was inadvertently exposed caught the attention of Klisa's hollow eyes.
"A bit… familiar…"
Afterward, Xu Xi took Klisa for a walk around the Courtyard, briefly familiarizing her with the layout of the rooms and selecting a new bedroom for her.
Along the way, Xu Xi joked that he would rely on Klisa to protect him in the future, as the witch was now terrifyingly strong.
Xu Xi had only intended to liven up the atmosphere, but the witch seemed to take it seriously, following him step by step, inseparable as shadow and light, guarding Xu Xi's side with great seriousness.
The study, the kitchen, the Cultivation room.
They walked through the rooms one by one.
The final destination was Xu Xi's room.
Pushing open the door, the first thing that caught the witch's eyes was the large, eye-catching wooden display cabinet, inside which sat the familiar grey rekindling wand and an ordinary sugar jar of unknown significance.
"Mentor, this is…"
Klisa's tone revealed confusion.
"Surprised, Klisa?"
Xu Xi took out the key, opened the glass cabinet door, and picked up the charred wand from inside.
"The wand you lost all those years ago returned to my hands by coincidence. I had intended to keep it as a keepsake, but since you're back, would you like to take it back?"
"After all, it originally belonged to you."
Hearing Xu Xi's question, Klisa shook her head slightly, locking her gaze on the sugar jar in the first compartment.
Her voice was bewildered, "Mentor, what is that?"
Xu Xi replied, "How should I put it? It's hard to explain. It's a very important memory, even though it just looks like a jar of ordinary sugar."
The witch seemed to understand, yet not quite; she faintly grasped something.
She was not stupid.
When it came to matters concerning Xu Xi, the clumsy witch was smarter than ever.
After receiving Xu Xi's permission, the witch slowly stepped forward and fine-tuned the positions of the sugar jar and the wand.
Now.
The wand was now in the first position.
