Chapter 9: The Game Is Not Yet Decided
A look of surprise appeared on the Crown Prince's face; he seemed extremely interested in this matter, staring unblinkingly at the lotus pond with shimmering eyes.
"Come out! If you don't come out now, don't blame me for taking action!" Su Jingyu stood guard in front of the Crown Prince, ready to charge into battle for him at any moment.
This action indeed won the Crown Prince's favor; he patted Su Jingyu on the shoulder, signaling that he could handle it himself.
Inside the lotus pond.
Su Xi was currently feeling extremely conflicted. If she went out now, she would lose face terribly in front of the Crown Prince. She had coveted the position of Crown Princess for a long time; if she went out now, all would be lost.
Forget it. Since the Third Miss caused this trouble, she should be the one to come out and deal with it.
"Remember to bring me a cloak after everyone has dispersed! Otherwise, I will beat you to death!" Having stayed in the water for too long, Su Xi's lips were trembling. After saying this, she grabbed Su Wan by the waistband and threw her whole body onto the shore.
Su Wan let out an "Ahhh—" scream, a miserable shriek like a pig being slaughtered. Her water-laden body traced an arc in the air before landing on the ground with a thud, lying sprawled on the shore, covered in yellow mud.
Even worse, since her waistband had been loose to begin with, Su Xi's tug and the subsequent throw caused her belt to come undone when she landed, and her clothes tore open.
Su Jingyu's eyes widened in sheer disbelief! His mouth was open wide enough to fit an egg.
No matter what, he could not have imagined why his Third Miss would appear on the shore so abruptly, and in such a shameful manner, especially with the Crown Prince present.
Could it be that she was expressing her admiration for the Crown Prince in this way?
This is simply… simply… shameless!
Veins bulged on Su Jingyu's forehead. He took off his outer robe and threw it onto Su Wan, covering that shameful body, and roared coldly: "Are you not going to get up yet?"
He felt he had never been so embarrassed in front of the Crown Prince; at this moment, he felt his face burning.
But unfortunately, Su Wan did not answer him. She remained lying straight in front of everyone, exposed to their view, because Su Wan had already passed out from the fall.
"Your Highness, my younger sister at the Su Residence is mischievous and causes trouble; she accidentally offended you. Please, do not take offense." Su Jingyu gritted his back teeth, his smile stiff as he tried to smooth things over.
While speaking, he gestured for the servants to quickly carry the Third Miss away.
The Crown Prince laughed heartily, seemingly in a very good mood. He patted Su Jingyu on the shoulder like a buddy and said with a smile, "Is this that gifted younger sister of yours? This way of making an entrance is actually… hmm, unique?"
The Crown Prince had actually met Su Xi before, but the problem was that when Su Wan was just thrown up, her face and hair were disheveled, looking like a water ghost that had just crawled out. Before the Crown Prince could see her face clearly, Su Jingyu had already covered Su Wan's face with his outer robe.
Therefore, the Crown Prince did not recognize which Young Miss from the Su Residence this was at all.
However, the Crown Prince had his own intentions in saying this.
As soon as the Crown Prince said this, Su Xi in the lotus pond felt incredibly depressed, conflicted, and furious! She was so anxious that she stomped her feet in the water.
What kind of eyesight does the Crown Prince have? That was clearly the Third Miss, okay? How could it possibly be her, Su Xi! Although she was secretly happy that the Crown Prince remembered her, being mistaken for that disheveled and wretched figure was unforgivable.
