Chapter 95: Steward Zhang’s Surprise
The streets of Liu City were much quieter than usual.
Business at Jue Ming Pavilion had also plummeted.
"Steward Zhang, business has been really poor lately. If it weren't for that kid from the Qin Family, we would probably need subsidies from headquarters."
The maid looked at Steward Zhang, who was sitting behind the counter, and said with a grin.
"Indeed! That would be too miserable!"
Sighing helplessly, Steward Zhang said:
"If only I could go to a more prosperous city. Look at my friends; they are all living such comfortable lives! Unlike me, stuck guarding this broken shop day after day."
The maid also complained:
"Liu City is such a tiny place. I really don't know why headquarters had to set up a shop here."
"Liu'er, you must not discuss headquarters. The thoughts of headquarters are not something we can fathom; we just need to do our own work well. Don't go on grumbling; the power of headquarters is beyond what we can imagine."
Upon hearing the maid's disrespect toward the organization at headquarters, Steward Zhang immediately warned her.
Hearing Steward Zhang's solemn words, the maid replied repeatedly:
"Liu'er won't say it again."
"That's good. If these words of yours were to reach the ears of headquarters, that would be bad. Don't think that just because this place is remote, headquarters won't manage it."
Steward Zhang instructed her, feeling uneasy.
"Steward Zhang, look, that kid from the Qin Family is coming over again. This time he didn't bring that little girl."
Seeing Qin Ming on the road, the maid said loudly.
"Oh?" Steward Zhang also stretched his head over to take a look.
The entire Liu City was very boring, and since it was rare to have a big customer like Qin Ming, they would naturally pay him extra attention.
Qin Ming walked to Jue Ming Pavilion and strode inside.
"Young Master Qin, what would you like to buy this time?"
The maid asked respectfully.
Qin Ming waved his hand and pointed to the back.
"Follow me! Liu'er, you look after the shop. If there is anything urgent, call me."
After speaking, Steward Zhang walked toward the small door in the back.
Qin Ming also followed him inside.
The door was a bit narrow, and Qin Ming had to stoop to enter, but the scene inside left him slightly stunned.
The decorations inside were much more luxurious than those outside.
Emerald green curtains, red tables and chairs, and exquisite tea sets all spoke to the extraordinary nature of this shop.
"You might have already discovered that our Jue Ming Pavilion is not as simple as it appears on the surface."
Steward Zhang smiled.
Qin Ming nodded. If it weren't for the fact that he was a Martial Emperor in his previous life, he probably wouldn't have discovered that both Steward Zhang and that former Steward Li were minor experts at the Great Martial Master Realm.
Just like the City Lord and the Chen Family, who could be said to be very familiar with every blade of grass and tree in Liu City, they probably hadn't discovered it either.
Otherwise, given their personalities, they would certainly be desperately trying to curry favor with Jue Ming Pavilion.
"Can you tell me how you discovered it?"
Steward Zhang asked.
Shaking his head, Qin Ming said directly:
"I cannot tell you!"
Steward Zhang, who was genuinely waiting for Qin Ming to give him the answer, was stunned. He hadn't expected that a Young Man who loved to show off would be so composed.
Steward Zhang thought back to when he was young; whenever he had some achievement or discovered something, he would have wanted the whole world to know about his abilities.
It was nothing like Qin Ming, who didn't seem like a youth at all.
If Steward Zhang didn't know Qin Ming's background inside and out, and know that he was a Young Master of the Qin Family,
he would have thought Qin Ming was an old monster in disguise.
From the moment he entered the door, Steward Zhang had been observing him.
The surprise he had been expecting did not appear at all.
