Cosmic Cube
Chen Mu did not know much about Zheng Xian and Old Li’s plans. After introducing the two to each other, he left and returned to his laboratory. He still needed to continue studying the Time Stone that the Ancient One had lent him.
The system had already analyzed the Time Stone, so Chen Mu directly used it to begin creating a Time Stone.
It would take a year to create an Infinity Stone, which meant that during that year, Chen Mu could not use the system to produce anything else.
However, this was not a major issue for Chen Mu. Aside from a few things that required the system to manufacture, everything else could basically be produced directly using existing materials and technology.
Of course, that depended on having the materials, but that was no longer much of a problem for China.
China in the Main World had already begun gathering resources from the boundless universe. What resources could possibly be lacking?
The Main World was no longer short on resources. Even after connecting to another world and another Earth, China in the Main World had never considered plundering resources from this Earth.
Of course, that was the Main World’s China. China in this wartime era had a different strategy.
The Main World provided interest-free loans and sold "advanced weapons" to China. Naturally, that advanced status was relative. The Main World was merely selling various weapons that had long been phased out, yet in this world’s 1943, they were still an entire generation ahead. No other nation on Earth possessed weapons better or stronger than these.
Even Wakanda, which remained hidden from the world, was not necessarily all that technologically advanced at present. Its weapons and equipment were nowhere near as good as those of later generations.
Not to mention the five hundred sets of Kirin Armor Chen Mu had provided—just the various automatic firearms and high-precision weapons delivered through trade were enough for China to dominate this world with ease.
In any case, China in this world possessed a vast quantity of advanced weapons and had the confidence to match. Naturally, it was no longer content with a few agreements. China in this world was preparing to resolve certain future "troubles" right now.
One trait of the Chinese was that they could do anything for the sake of their descendants.
Having learned of certain future events from the Main World, the people of this era would not simply stand by and watch them happen.
"Hey, look what we found."
The Dimensional Gate had already been secured, and people from both worlds traveled back and forth. Zheng Xian and the others often returned as well. After all, he held several positions and was quite busy here too.
At that moment, Xu Jia came over with a delighted expression.
"What is it?"
Chen Mu looked curious.
"Look."
As she spoke, Xu Jia took a box from her storage device and placed it on the table. When she opened it, a blue cube sat inside.
The Cosmic Cube.
"Huh?"
Chen Mu looked at Xu Jia curiously and asked, "How did you get this?"
If he remembered correctly, Captain Carter had gone to Hydra and seized this thing. What Chen Mu could not understand was why it had ended up in Xu Jia’s hands.
"Getting this from the U.S. wasn’t difficult."
Xu Jia smiled and continued, "Director Zheng Xian has had more contact with people from America lately. He traded some relatively advanced technology for it."
At this time, although Howard Stark had researched the Cosmic Cube and discovered that it was extraordinary, the era’s limitations made it impossible to put it to use.
As far as the American military was concerned, the Cosmic Cube was merely a "giant battery." Worse still, they had no way of extracting its energy.
As a result, the American military did not value it at all.
"Director Zheng Xian traded two low-yield nuclear bombs for it."
"…"
Chen Mu wore a strange expression. Two nuclear bombs in exchange for this thing?
America was still researching nuclear weapons, but it had yet to achieve any results.
It would not be until two years later that they would be the first to create two nuclear bombs and use them directly in war, launching nuclear strikes against Little Japan.
Without Chen Mu and the others interfering, that would also have been one of the main reasons Little Japan surrendered unconditionally.
Zheng Xian was impressive. He had exchanged just two low-yield nuclear bombs for an Infinity Stone. That was an absolutely enormous profit.
"America would have been able to develop nuclear weapons in another two years, but they happened to be at a bottleneck right now. Since we could produce those two nuclear bombs outright and trade with them, it wasn’t particularly difficult."
Xu Jia covered her mouth and laughed. "Director Zheng Xian is still in America, so he had me deliver this to you first."
As the person with China’s strongest scientific research capabilities, and someone who trusted Chen Mu greatly, Zheng Xian had sent the Cosmic Cube to Chen Mu immediately after obtaining it.
"This is the Space Stone among the Infinity Stones. It possesses the power to control space."
Chen Mu smiled, took the Cosmic Cube into his hand, and explained to Xu Jia:
"Using this, one can open portals. In theory, it allows one to travel freely throughout this universe. Its teleportation ability is far stronger than the Bifrost’s."
"The Infinity Stones?"
China already knew about the Infinity Stones because it had long since begun cooperating with the sorcerers.
"Every universe has its own Infinity Stones. You could say they aren’t rare, yet there are only six in the entire universe. You could say they are rare, yet every multiverse has them…"
Cosmic Cube, analyzing: 1%, 5%, ...
Space Stone, analyzing: 1%, 2%, ...Well, this stroke of luck had come too suddenly. Since the system was still producing the Time Stone, Chen Mu had not rushed to search for another Infinity Stone.
He knew that the Cosmic Cube—the Space Stone—was currently in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s hands. He had planned to borrow it from S.H.I.E.L.D. after the Time Stone was complete, but it turned out that what he had sought everywhere had come to him without effort. Before Chen Mu had even gone looking, the Space Stone had appeared right before him.
Although it was the Space Stone from another world, it was undoubtedly the same thing. That did not hinder the system from analyzing it and then creating it…
Once he gathered all six stones and analyzed them all, Chen Mu would be able to manufacture them in large quantities.
Unfortunately, perfect Infinity Stones could only be created through the system. Still, this was already quite good.
