Dare You Kill My Horse?!
After a round of testing,
Fang Mo had roughly grasped the traits of these Villagers.
First of all, they were all ordinary humans. Unlike extraordinary beings like the Ice Queen, these Villagers possessed no supernatural abilities in the conventional sense.
Their intelligence was no different from that of ordinary humans, but since they had never encountered the real world, they lacked some common knowledge. For example, they did not understand what trains were, had never seen ocean liners, and had no idea what steam engines or muskets were.
In other words, these Villagers were like people who had just come out of some impoverished mountain village. They had never seen these novel things, but their ability to learn was quite good.
With Fang Mo’s simple explanations, they quickly learned how to use some basic modern tools.
In addition, these Villagers had a mysterious fondness for Emeralds. Compared to other precious metals and gemstones, Emeralds alone seemed to hold a special place in their hearts.
Especially the top-grade emeralds Fang Mo had brought out from the MC world.
They held a deadly attraction for them.
And beyond all that, these Villagers possessed a special ability: no matter what happened, they could Recognize the real Fang Mo, as well as other creatures from the MC world.
Even if Fang Mo hid among a crowd and used Custom Steve’s ability to take on someone else’s appearance, these Villagers could still instantly Recognize him and revere him as their master. Of course, they could also distinguish one another within a crowd. They could always accurately identify who was a fellow creature from the MC world and who was a local native of this world.
Even Fang Mo could not figure out the principle behind it, but these Villagers could somehow tell at a glance.
Considering this strange trait,
a plan gradually began to take shape in Fang Mo’s mind.
He intended to spread these Villagers throughout Egypt and use them to establish a massive network of connections on the surface. The Villagers would gather intelligence in the open, while the Red Cap Goblins and the Silverfish swarm would excavate and act in secret. With both sides working together, the efficiency of finding the Requiem Arrow would rise dramatically.
Of course, once they found the Requiem Arrow, Fang Mo could have these Villagers disperse and blend into the entire world, setting up a merchant guild or something. He could call it the Green Turtle… ahem, the Emerald Scam Artist Mutual Aid Association.
After all, the world of JOJO was quite suitable for a vacation.
Speedwagon already had his own foundation. Wouldn’t Fang Mo lose face if he did not make one just for fun?
Fang Mo had brought a great many MC creatures with him this time. There were over a thousand Red Cap Goblins and goblins alone, and the number of Villagers was no less. After all, the assembly line operations on the MC side were brainless enough that he could farm them endlessly while AFK.
Fang Mo first found an uninhabited area and released all the Villagers and goblins.
The Red Cap Goblins were unexpectedly good at construction. They quickly dug up large amounts of stone and lumber, and they were not picky eaters either, consuming almost anything. Working together with the Villagers, they soon built a village on the spot.
As for food, it mainly consisted of Potatoes, corn, and the like.
Fang Mo had the Arcane Ring. Goddess of Harvest Mode could ripen hundreds of tons of Potatoes in minutes. After all, it was no exaggeration to say that one MC player could overturn an entire industrial chain.
During this time,
Fang Mo tested the Silverfish again.
A flash of white light passed, and a cute giant bug appeared at Fang Mo’s feet.
Unlike the Silverfish in MC, this thing was about the size of a palm after being manifested in reality. It had an oval body covered in layers of grayish-white chitinous shells.
At first glance, it looked a little like a terrestrial giant isopod… or perhaps a pill bug.
However, what gave Fang Mo a headache was that this thing was not humanoid either. Honestly, he had no idea how to communicate with it. The Chinese Language Mod seemed to let him talk to dogs, but could it let him talk to bugs too?
After thinking it over, Fang Mo decided to try first.
"Old Iron, can you understand me?"
Fang Mo crouched on the ground and attempted to communicate with the Silverfish. "If you can understand me, can you give me some kind of sign? Like curling into a ball or something…"
Yet, to Fang Mo’s surprise,
the Silverfish actually slowly curled itself into a ball.
"Holy shit… it actually worked?"
Fang Mo was stunned. He subconsciously scratched his head. "Is the Chinese Language Mod really this awesome? I can just grab any random bug and chat with it… Don’t tell me this is so I can tell them Hell Jokes?"
"Hiss…"
As Fang Mo muttered to himself, the stupid bug on the ground let out a hiss.
For no reason at all, Fang Mo actually understood that hiss.
Of course, it was not any specific language. The creature was merely expressing a very primitive and chaotic emotion, like an insect’s biological instinct. The little thing was hungry.
Fang Mo thought for a moment, then tossed it a Potato.
It was only a Silverfish, after all. Fang Mo could not possibly feed it meat or anything, could he?
Fortunately, the Silverfish truly was not picky. It happily gnawed on even a raw Potato. After eating about half a Potato, it was full and lay there, grooming its two little antennae.
Seeing this, Fang Mo continued testing the Silverfish’s various traits.
The facts proved that this was a social insect.
Each Silverfish could rapidly transmit information through pheromones, hissing, antenna movements, and other methods.
Their senses were extremely sharp. They could detect the slightest vibrations in the ground and air, and their digging ability was astonishing. Their tunneling efficiency was even more absurd than that of the Red Cap Goblins.
Besides that, they possessed the exaggerated reproductive speed of insects.
Yes, Fang Mo did not need to keep pulling them out of the MC world. As long as they ate their fill, they could actively lay eggs and reproduce. Under suitable temperatures, in just a few days, a dense mass of miniature Silverfish would hatch from the eggs.
And these naturally hatched Silverfish obeyed Fang Mo’s orders as well.
Now that was just perfect.
So Fang Mo took out several Anubis, a pile of mummies, and three entire World Boxes full of Silverfish.
As for the Monster Spawner,
Fang Mo also tried manifesting it in reality.
But to his surprise, after the Monster Spawner was manifested, it directly turned into a one-way portal. It was a cross-shaped spatial rift filled with a chaotic, deep void.
Whether it was anyone else or Fang Mo himself, no one on this side could enter the portal.
Yet every so often, a Red Cap Goblin would emerge from the portal, letting out a sleazy, vulgar laugh as it joined Fang Mo’s goblin legion.
And in order to let these monsters find the Requiem Arrow as quickly as possible, Fang Mo even assigned them a Lich as a magical advisor and gave them a stack of Golden Apples. These Golden Apples were mainly for the Villagers, not to increase their combat strength, but because once their bodies were enhanced by the Golden Apples, their learning ability would also improve at an incredible rate.
That way, they could rapidly integrate into human society and learn its knowledge.
After all, it was still 1890. Egypt had hardly any modern technology. With the supernatural forces Fang Mo had arranged to help them, these Villagers could quickly blend into the local population and search for the Requiem Arrow with terrifying efficiency.
After all, Anubis and the mummies were products of Egypt to begin with. Having them help direct grave-digging was practically like using Egyptian traitors.
Uh… Egyptian traitors?
Why did that sound so strange?
In any case, the matter here was quickly settled.
Fang Mo handed the task of finding the Requiem Arrow over to these MC creatures. They had their own intelligence now, and they could communicate across species, so there was no need for Fang Mo to keep watching over them.
And so, very quickly,
Fang Mo returned to Britain through teleportation.
However, to Fang Mo’s surprise, the moment he returned, he found himself inside a carriage.
The awkward part was that the carriage was already packed. Erina and Jonathan sat on the left, Zeppeli and Speedwagon sat on the right, and there was even a dog lying in the middle. Fang Mo had teleported in so suddenly that he had nowhere to land and nearly plunged headfirst into Erina’s arms.
Fortunately, he reacted quickly. With a twist of his hips and a spin, he landed with a plop right on Danny’s back.
"…"
The people in the carriage seemed to have been talking about something before, but upon seeing Fang Mo’s bizarre entrance, they all stopped at the same time with remarkable tacit understanding.
In an instant, the atmosphere became extremely awkward.
Even Danny, who understood human nature, could not help turning back to glance at Fang Mo. His eyes seemed to say, Do you think I look like a horse? They were full of doubt.
"What, are flowers growing on my face?"
In the end, Fang Mo was the one to break the awkward silence. Somewhat embarrassed and irritated, he said, "Look at this shitty carriage you picked. Would it kill you to leave me one more seat?"
"Ahem, Mage."
Speedwagon coughed awkwardly and explained, "The main thing was that we didn’t expect you to come too… So, did you come along because you were worried about us going after Dio?"
"I just finished dealing with the mess in Egypt, so I came over to take a look while I had nothing else to do."
Fang Mo said, "I thought you guys were still training. Did you find Dio’s whereabouts this quickly?"
"Yes, I’ve been tracking Dio’s movements lately."
Speedwagon nodded. "According to information from my informants, someone reportedly saw a person resembling Dio in a town called Wind Knight Territory. And… it seems that many people have gone missing around there."
"Then it seems we truly do not have much time."
Zeppeli spoke up. "Actually, JoJo, your Ripple training has not yet been fully completed. But the more people a vampire eats, the stronger he becomes. If this continues, Dio will become invincible. So I can only have you complete your final Ripple training through actual combat."
"No problem, Mr. Zeppeli."
Jonathan immediately clenched his fist. "I am ready to fight."
"JoJo."
Erina placed her hand over Jonathan’s fist and said gently, "Danny and I will fight by your side as well, so please do not worry."
"Woof!"
Danny barked in agreement.
"Me too!" Speedwagon immediately shouted. "Mr. Joestar, I’ll do my best too!"
"You should forget about it."
Hearing this, Fang Mo glanced at the fired-up Speedwagon. "Our lineup already has enough damage. Even if Dio had a hundred heads, it wouldn’t be enough for him to die with. You just need to focus on narrating."
"So what exactly is narrati—"
Before Speedwagon could finish, the racing carriage suddenly entered a cave.
As darkness swallowed the surroundings, the carriage abruptly stopped. Immediately afterward, a sense of danger descended upon everyone. Zeppeli and Erina reacted instantly, grabbing the companions beside them and jumping out of the carriage.
Then, in the very next second, everyone saw a horrifying sight unfold before them.
The horse pulling the carriage suddenly began spraying blood. Then, with a wet tearing sound, a long gash appeared across its belly. A pair of hands slowly reached out from within, followed by the wound being ripped wider to reveal a savage, evil grin.
"What the hell is wrong with this guy?! He actually hid inside the horse’s body?"
Speedwagon, who had not even known what narration was a moment ago, seemed to have awakened his talent upon seeing this scene. He uncontrollably shouted, "Mr. Joestar! This guy is difficult to deal with! His cruelty and madness are even worse than Dio’s!"
"Wagon, and you said you couldn’t narrate?"
Fang Mo was the last to get out of the carriage. He was still teasing Speedwagon as he walked, but when he turned and saw the horrifying sight, he could not help shouting as well.
"Holy shit, Horse Hunter!"
