Villagers: It’s Fine, We Don’t Hate You
Boom!
The massive explosion sent up a huge cloud of dust. Even the courtyard wall and house where Fang Mo stood were blown apart, leaving a massive crater in the ground. Caught off guard, Fang Mo got a mouthful of Sand. Fortunately, he was powerful enough now that an explosion like this could not injure him.
"Fuck!"
Spitting out the Sand in his mouth, Fang Mo finally snapped and instantly drew the Manyullyn Cleaver. "You damn goblins are seriously fucking asking for it…"
Yet when the dust settled, there was not a trace of the Red Cap Goblins anywhere nearby.
Other than the deep crater from the explosion, only a few small holes remained on the ground. These Red Cap Goblins were quite clever; they were remarkably good at hiding from explosions.
Fortunately, these Red Cap Goblins had been brought out of MC by Fang Mo, and their loyalty to him had been forcibly maxed out. Not long after the explosion ended, they poked their heads out and climbed back up from underground. They grinned mischievously as they returned to stand before Fang Mo.
"Master, hehehe…"
The Red Cap Goblins crowded forward with obnoxious grins, chattering over one another. "This is what we’re good at."
"I fucking noticed."
Fang Mo wiped his face. "You lot really are talented in your own ways. So what exactly was that TNT? Does it respawn automatically?"
"We made it ourselves, Master."
The Red Cap Goblins explained, "When we lived in the tomb, we accidentally discovered the recipe for this stuff. It’s much better than pickaxes for attacking enemies, so we usually carry some with us and ambush enemies when they aren’t paying attention. Hehehe… it’s so much fun!"
"Oh, so it doesn’t respawn?"
Fang Mo nodded subconsciously at that.
In the game, Red Cap Goblins would secretly place TNT near players when they were not paying attention, light it, and then quickly flee. So when that mechanic had been brought into reality, Fang Mo had found it rather surprising.
But now, it seemed only that "mechanic" had been brought out.
As for the TNT itself, it apparently could not respawn infinitely as it did in the game. Once it was used up, they had to find a way to make more themselves. Unexpectedly, that fit reality quite well.
"Hehehehe…"
Seeing Fang Mo sink into thought, the Red Cap Goblins began giggling obnoxiously again. They looked at him with waggling brows. "Great Master, the Red Cap Goblin clan is willing to serve you forever. Please command us as you please, hehehe…"
"Can you not laugh like that?"
Fang Mo could not help saying.
"Yes, Master. As you command, Master." The Red Cap Goblins were quite obedient and agreed immediately upon hearing Fang Mo’s words. But after only a few minutes of holding it in, their shoulders began trembling uncontrollably.
"Heh… hehehe…"
The Red Cap Goblins apologized to Fang Mo while snickering. "Master, sorry, we couldn’t hold it in… hehe!"
"…"
Fang Mo was somewhat speechless at the sight.
That devilish laughter was probably one of the Red Cap Goblins’ settings. Even they could not defy it, just like their limitless loyalty toward Fang Mo. It was all part of the world’s rules.
Once he understood that, Fang Mo no longer minded their laughter so much.
After ordering them to repair the wall and house, Fang Mo began studying the realization of Villagers.
With a thought from Fang Mo, Steve directly took out an Ender Dagger and handed it to him. As Fang Mo reached out to take it, realization activated, and the pixelated dagger became a real one.
Then Fang Mo released the Villagers inside it.
There were no special effects. A completely ordinary-looking person suddenly appeared in the empty space ahead.
Fang Mo examined the person briefly and found that he wore a dark-brown linen outfit with long sleeves, rather similar to the Villagers in the game.
But his appearance… was not like that of a Villager with its hanging-man nose, and his eyes were not green either. He truly looked incredibly ordinary: brown hair, brown eyes, wheat-colored skin, and seemingly in his twenties. Thrown into a crowd, he would be impossible to pick out.
After appearing, the Villager first looked somewhat confused, then began looking around.
The moment he saw Fang Mo, his expression immediately became extremely respectful.
"Master."
The Villager tucked his hands into his sleeves and gave Fang Mo a slight bow in a strange gesture of etiquette. "It is my honor to serve you. I am willing to offer you everything I possess, however meager it may be."
"Uh…"
Honestly, Fang Mo was stunned when he saw this Villager, who looked exactly like an ordinary person.
After thinking for a moment, Fang Mo asked, "What’s your name?"
"I have no name."
The Villager looked completely natural about it. "In that world, I had no thoughts, no feelings, and likewise no name. Or perhaps you could say that ‘Villager’ is my name."
"Is that so?"
Fang Mo nodded, then continued, "Do you remember anything about your previous world?"
"Yes, but not much."
The Villager said, "I do not have any particularly detailed impression of that world. I only vaguely remember carrying out my duties in a muddled state. I did not know who I was, nor did I know why I was doing it. Only after coming here did my mind become clear."
"Oh, so it’s similar to A Xue."
After hearing the Villager’s explanation, Fang Mo nodded subconsciously. "Then do you remember being thrown into the Tinkers’ Smeltery and melted alive to make Emeralds?"
"I seem to remember a little."
The Villager tilted his head. "But… I do not have any bad memories or feelings about it. If it could please you, Master, I would willingly endure it for another thousand years. After all, that is the only meaning of my existence."
"Really?"
Hearing that, Fang Mo felt somewhat relieved.
It seemed that MC creatures were only truly granted life after being realized. It was as though a mass of data had been granted intelligence out of thin air, with the world’s rules forcibly turning something that had never existed into a living creature with a soul.
That was actually a good thing for Fang Mo.
Before realization, all MC creatures were merely an insubstantial mass of data. They had no genuine joy, anger, sorrow, or happiness; no memories, souls, or sense of self. MC was a world for one person, and everything around them was a false creation meant to make that person happy, nothing more than "settings" under the rules of MC.
Fang Mo could still build an assembly line in the MC world, or kill monsters and the like.
As long as he treated these MC creatures kindly after realizing them, that was enough. As for what happened in the game… even the MC creatures themselves did not care.
MC creatures: Go ahead and build your mob farms. We just like seeing you so happy.
After letting out a sigh of relief.
Fang Mo proceeded to realize several more Villagers.
Their appearances were not the same. Some were handsome blond, blue-eyed men; others were middle-aged women with black hair and black eyes. Fang Mo observed them for a while and found that their appearances seemed random. People of any ethnicity in the world could potentially spawn.
Fang Mo even spawned a dark-skinned nitwit Villager.
Of course, by nitwit, he meant a Villager with no profession in the game and who could not be traded with, not that he was mentally disabled or anything.
This Villager had no problem communicating normally; he simply had no means of making a living.
Yes, all the Villagers realized by Fang Mo came with their own professional skills. The leatherworker said he could make all sorts of leather bags, armor, belts, and similar items.
The priest immediately demonstrated reciting the Bible backward for Fang Mo, repeatedly saying things like, "May God bless you."
However, it was worth mentioning that while these Villagers were no different from ordinary humans, they still had one hidden little quirk: they truly loved Emeralds. The instant Fang Mo took out an Emerald, their attention was immediately drawn to it. They nearly started drooling, as though they would do anything for Emeralds.
After seeing the behavior displayed by these Villagers, Fang Mo was somewhat surprised. Before long, an idea sprang into his mind.
There would be another chapter later tonight.
