Hand-Tearing, Learning Moonwalk on His Own
Black Death watched with satisfaction as the virus spread. Large numbers of Skuld Island’s inhabitants began to become infected, transmitting it through attacks, biting, and sexual contact.
In terms of sheer destructiveness, this Blood Cross virus was far more disgusting than the more famous T-Virus from Infinite Space.
It had little evolutionary potential, but it was more than sufficient as a biological weapon.
Those infected did not become mindless creatures like zombies. Instead, it was as though the malice within their bodies had been completely awakened. While retaining thinking ability such as using tools, they became bloodthirsty and violent, recklessly unleashing the evil buried deep in their bones.
The town was almost immediately reduced to hell. Even though the members of God’s Guard possessed strength beyond that of ordinary townspeople, they had been caught off guard. After being bitten a few times, they quickly began to mutate as well.
These infected people felt no pain, crazily unleashing their biological instincts. They ran so fast that they tore their own thigh muscles apart. They frantically bit other humans, tearing them into bloody pulp.
The women suffered even more terribly. Desires normally concealed behind morality and ethics were fully unleashed. Countless people tore at the women’s clothes, venting their animal lust and infecting them as well.
Black Death listened as the thunder in the sky still failed to draw near. He knew that Flame Demon and Moon Demon had not been defeated, or that Enel had been restrained by something else.
Who cared?
The only thing Black Death found unsatisfying was that the One Piece World consisted of islands, making the virus comparatively difficult to spread. Otherwise, he felt he could have gained a very considerable reward in this world.
He was particularly skilled at using biological weapons of mass infection to cause widespread destruction in mission worlds.
"Let’s go. We can look for Eldorado from that Side Mission."
Black Death waved a hand, and a figure emerged from beside the wall.
"Be careful, Black Death. There may be other reincarnators on this island. I felt like someone was watching me just now."
Black Death looked around, clicked his tongue, and said,
"It’s probably Critical Point’s disgusting double again. Heh, that guy can only jerk off in dark corners…"
Black Death’s tone was strange. It was obvious that "jerk off" was meant as an insult toward Critical Point. The man whose figure always unconsciously blended into his surroundings clearly did not agree.
Everyone knew how terrifying Critical Point was. Though the number of vicious figures and veteran reincarnators who had died at his hands was not large, every one of them had once been famous throughout the East District.
A sniper of that caliber deserved respect for his record, regardless of whether he relied on a double.
Black Death scattered some medicinal powder over the two of them. The virus-infected people completely ignored them, allowing them to head straight into the temple.
Meanwhile, by the sea, red-eyed, roaring people lunged toward the water. But Olgins possessed monstrous strength and had already pushed Cindy’s little skiff into the waves.
The warship in the distance was drawing closer. Even Olgins relaxed slightly at this moment.
On the warship, Dalmatian lowered his head, his expression unreadable. He confirmed once more,
"Are we really going to bombard this island?"
"You should know that there are still nearly twenty thousand people on it…"
Dalmatian’s chest was wrapped in bandages, but the powerful physique and recovery ability granted by a Zoan Type Devil Fruit left him in much better condition than the others.
Hearing Dalmatian’s doubts, Spandam, who wore a half silver mask, turned cold.
"Vice Admiral, I recall that you have already accepted your orders."
"There should be no voice on this ship questioning the commander of this special operation."
He wanted to draw his sword, but he knew that most Marine Headquarters Vice Admirals would not be intimidated by his force.
"Vice Admiral!"
"Civilians are approaching ahead! They seem to be refugees from Skuld Island!"
A marine soldier immediately came to report. Dalmatian felt that this day was truly becoming bizarre. No one knew what had happened on the island. That so-called Thunder God seemed too preoccupied to care about the sea—not only had he allowed the warship to enter, civilians were even fleeing the island.
"Rescue them and ask about the situation on the island…"
Bang!
The gunshot made Dalmatian’s expression turn extremely ugly. Spandam blew the smoke from his barrel as the CP Agency members in black suits behind him moved closer.
"Marine Soldiers, drive those civilians back. This operation must remain strictly confidential."
Spandam bore the responsibility of bringing back Eldorado. He would not accept any unforeseen complications. As for civilians, what did they have to do with him…
"I’m Cindy, a special operations member of the G51 Branch! Requesting aid, requesting aid!"
The little girl’s voice carried over the sea. The instant Dalmatian heard that familiar branch designation, he appeared at the rail. Spandam ground his teeth in hatred, but he did not truly dare shoot a Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral. Besides, gunfire would have little effect on someone like him.
Bai Cangshu and Bellamy were also riding a skiff, approaching the warship from another direction.
Dalmatian had a good impression of him. Bai Cangshu had switched his milestone back to Savior in advance. Although he did not know why the Marines had learned that Enel was not currently on Skuld Island, he could use Vergo’s death to stir up a little more trouble.
Boom!
A pitch-black cannonball suddenly flew from the deck along the warship’s side, landing in the distant sea and exploding.
Waves and flames mixed together, causing both Bellamy, the Devil Fruit Ability User, and Cindy several hundred meters away to cry out in alarm.
Bai Cangshu looked at the warship. The Marine Soldiers above kept waving at the two approaching skiffs, signaling them to leave. Behind them, in the waves, those red-eyed, zombie-like people felt no fear at all and instead lunged at Olgins.
Sensing danger, Olgins spun around and grabbed the person in front, hurling him more than ten meters into the air before he crashed into the sea. Yet the others were not afraid in the slightest. Instead, they stared greedily at Olgins and Cindy.
"Stop running… You can’t get away, hehehe."
Olgins sensed twisted malice in their eyes. He no longer held back, smashing the nearest person’s head with one punch, along with the seawater, until it snapped around backward with a crack.
Yet the person used both hands to forcibly twist his neck back into place.
"Hey!"
"Marine Soldiers, bring the little girl aboard! She belongs to Corey and Lucido of the G51 Branch!"
Olgins pushed the skiff forward again. The monsters behind him were getting closer and closer, and he could feel the danger closing in.
Dalmatian heard those familiar names again, appeared on deck, and told the crew,
"Bring them aboard!"
Spandam felt that Dalmatian was challenging his authority and tapped two fingers.
Two CP Agency members immediately drew their pistols, stepped to the rail, and aimed at Cindy and Olgins below.
Bang!
Dalmatian instantly knocked one man away, but the other had already fired.
The bullet struck the seawater beside Olgins. His pupils contracted as he realized something, but before he could speak, a powerful wave shot toward them like an arrow.
Splash!
Several of the nearest strange townspeople were knocked over by the powerful wave.
Olgins turned around and saw a small skiff dozens of meters away. The cold-faced young man had struck the water with one hand, transmitting a strange force through the surface and creating an unusual wave.
As Bai Cangshu had Bellamy row the boat, he placed his hand in the seawater. Ripple began spreading bit by bit from his hand into the sea.
Water was a material that easily conducted Ripple.
Ignoring Bellamy’s puzzled gaze, Bai Cangshu used Lv7 Hamon to churn the seawater. Olgins relaxed upon realizing that Bai Cangshu was helping them. He grabbed the skiff and fled toward Bai Cangshu.
"The Marines really can’t be trusted! Take the little girl and go. I’ll cover the rear!"
Olgins shouted at Bai Cangshu, his words making the Marines aboard the warship lose all face.
Dalmatian looked down and saw that the Marine he thought highly of was also on the sea. The look he gave Spandam when he turned back was extremely dangerous.
But before he could erupt, a Marine cried out in alarm.
Dalmatian turned back and saw only the young man leap from the boat before dropping into the sea, making contact with the islanders swimming toward the Marine warship.
In an instant, limbs flew everywhere, and blood dyed the sea red.
"Big… guy…"
Cindy had always called Bai Cangshu "big guy." It was an affectionate nickname, but now, amid the flying flesh and blood, familiar faces were torn apart upon the sea. The blood-red sight left her unable to call him that anymore.
Expressionless, Bai Cangshu used his terrifying strength to break and tear off the limbs of those frenzied humans who knew only how to bite and claw, then smashed their heads apart.
"No pain, no fear, but they retain thinking ability…"
Like an old coroner dissecting corpses, he made his assessment of the infected.
Ultimately, Blood Cross was terrifying to ordinary people, but for someone like him, as long as he was willing to kill, no number of infected could affect him in the slightest.
"You…"
Even though Olgins knew these islanders had been infected by something, wouldn’t a normal person first wonder whether there was an antidote or whether they could be treated?
Yet this man had simply begun killing people, and in such a… brutal manner.
Even Olgins, despite being a One Piece, had not seen many scenes of people literally tearing living humans apart.
On the ship, Spandam’s face turned pale, and he nearly vomited. He glared furiously at Dalmatian.
"You actually wanted to let this madman aboard?!"
"Fire!"
"Kill them all!"
Dalmatian stared blankly at the young man dyeing the sea ahead red. The other man seemed to sense his gaze, turned back, waved at Dalmatian, and shouted,
"Vice Admiral, these islanders have all been infected!"
"Someone on that island is probably releasing a virus…"
Boom!
A pitch-black cannonball shot from the cannon muzzle. Bai Cangshu suddenly stomped down hard.
In a single instant, he kicked off dozens of times. His speed was so fast that he once again felt that sticky air.
Bang!
Bang!
Bai Cangshu leaped into the air. The cannonball exploded on the sea beneath him. He was clumsy at first, but his legs soon vanished rhythmically, and his body changed direction in midair.
"Ha!"
Bai Cangshu laughed, exhilarated. This had not come from a scroll—he had mastered it entirely through his own physical strength.
Dalmatian’s expression grew even more complicated as he watched. He knew that this young man from the G51 Branch was a rare genius.
He had learned Moonwalk, one of the Six Powers, on his own. Yet now, Dalmatian could not feel happy about it. Bai Cangshu’s actions were likely something even Admiral Akainu would find difficult to accept.
